  1. MISTER SISTER! I would love a screen shot but have no way to get one to you.

I was trolling the internet and multi-tasking away and I ran into a polygamy site. I almost left the site because it looked like it had been shut down, nothing new.

I by chance caught a current comment go by on the side bar so I clicked on it. It was a person making a comment about the Jeffs trial on an old rant the author had left behind. However, that was not the kicker!

The kicker is that I by chance caught a comment from Discovery Channel rep. looking for a polygamy family for a reality TV show! Dated from 2008!

How funny is that? I wonder how many sites, how many contacts it took to get to Kody or Vice-Versa!

    What a funny find!

Do you know any polygamists personally?
I am looking for a family to film for a reality show segment, form a pro-polygamy point of view. I’m a television producer for the Discovery Channel, and really need help locating a willing family.

    Lifting the Veil on Polygamy

This show that presents the video is on a local Utah channel. They have a few interesting videos at their website. You might like to check them out. See our lovely Flora make a brief response on original LDS and Warren. Hear about about Nauvoo Illinois, where Robyn's family leads back to and much more. Interesting.

This documentary examines the roots of Joseph Smith's legacy, and its modern-day fruit. We follow the compelling testimonies of nine former fundamentalists, who shed light on this practice and lifestyle which has been shrouded in secrecy since the earliest days of Mormonism; but more importantly, they share the true freedom they have found in the Jesus Christ of the Bible.

  3. That is funny!
I know that after the BBC filmed them, there was some go around with them getting "picked" or "okd" by the Principle voices, and they were actively looking for a show. Not sure what exact steps happened from there, but they got one!
Wouldn't it be funny if Amber was talking about the Browns?

  4. I have meant to put the veil up forever, will do, thanks for reminding me. This Jeffs thing has me crazy.

  5. I know I so think it was the Browns! I mean who else could it be? There are about three or four families off hand we have seen through the years but the husbands were not as willing as Kody to be on camera. I think that is what sealed the deal. Cory ol' Kody.

Did you know the Browns had an old you tube channel? I think the old videos are still up on it. I might have linked it here once some time ago. I found it on a tv forum but it was worth a visit. I think the video they had on that channel is the one that went to the BBC show.

I think Kody was looking for a gig desperately he and Christine were really active in the media and worked hard at putting the face of normalcy to their cause and I think TLC was looking for a family (possibly prompted by a request or bid )and they collided via Principle Voices/ FLDS Coalitions/Communities and voila perfect match.

I am still contemplating why a friendly person of the Browns would even dare twitter that the Browns had their home investigated and were cleared of abuse. All of it seems so staged sometimes. I wonder if any of them would or would not be above using twitter to keep audiences captured instead of risking doing any high visibility promos during the Jeffs trial and aftermath.

  6. I missed a key! Eeek! That was *corny* kody!

  7. I can't remember when that was twittered. Recently? I'm lost on some that are following ppl she's not talking to.
I have the videos up from that channel, basically, it's the BBC video under June, BBC, what started it all. I double checked, and not much else there. OH, I bet Kody would drive till his navel hit his backbone for show!!!HAAHAHAHAHAH

  9. Robyn blocked 8fall , a christian that asked about welfare fraud and also generally tweets against polygamy abuses, but in the meantime one of robyns friends and the one that acts like a publicist, HeroinofParis, have been battling with 8fall on twitter over welfare fraud and the sisterwives. One of robyns friends responded back to 8fall twice mentioning that the browns were investigated and cleared of abuse in the home. It was just all kind of weird. I can't imagine why Robyns friend would leak something so private to someone that was asking about welfare fraud and piping up about polygamy abuse in general - and none of the browns said a word.

  10. Here's an article by a Christian Female attorney who actually litigates, unlike law professors (like Turley) who just debate legal concepts in their ivory towers. We litigators don't have a lot of respect for the law professors who are too good to get themselves dirty in the trenches, I mean, courthouses. There is an old saying: "Those who can't do, teach."

Anyway, she goes even further than me. After reading the suit, she not only thinks that they are trying to legalize polygamy, but much more.

  14. TY for the article, Female Attorney! What an interesting read. Many people are afraid to say things these days, I like that she is bold with her assertions. She has a good point they can't have it both ways and it does seem maybe their is something more to it all. I reread an intro into a book on polygamy last night. It had an opening bit that included Anne and Principle Voices. They did not deny there was more to it, either.

  15. Yes, Mistersister, twice in just the past week one of Robyns friends said the Browns had their home investigated and were cleared of any abuse.

Robyn;s twitter friend tweeted the investigation of the Brown home as a response to a general claim from a Christian activist that said polygamy was abusive to women and children.

I don't know why any friend would offer up that information on someone. How is that even an appropriate response to a general statement on polygamy? It may or may not be true and either way, why share anything personal with people that are putting the fire to Robyn's feet?

According to her twitter, Robyn was with her mom getting her kids from her ex when these tweets exchanged.

    It was all just odd.

  16. Well this is an opinion piece from a different point of view. It was a bit uh wow well I don't know and The comments are good, too! Some good info and some humorous.

    Dancing with the prophet

"I am writing this primarily as a counterweight to the horrendous portrait of the polygamous lifestyle that was presented at the trial of FLDS leader Warren Jeffs. I am nowhere near an expert on plural marriage, but I do believe that what I saw during my time with the Allred group was a fairly credible representation of how “The Principle” is lived among his followers."

    I so love the Ranch!

$$Ranch has some great photos, really great photos and a few videos up! Getting the cattle ready and busy, busy! They said they have 59 calves and counting!

LOL Garrison made a joke on the red heifer video, too!

Do the Brown children seem to have Meri and Kody's , especially Meri's fun sense of humor or is it just me?

  18. Double Dollar mentioned working on a website. When I did a search for them a Livestock Co. and an Utah ranch with the same name come up so a website would be nice. I wonder if the Wyoming Double Dollar is associated with the Holden, Utah Double Dollar?

Also, I ran into an "Eminent Domain, Easements, Access, Split Estates case" for the Ranch. It didn't have a date but the site says they are "recent" cases. The ranch life seems never ending but so rewarding.

I hope we get to see more of the ranch in the new season.

Emma Christofferson v. Winn Brown and Double Dollar Ranch Trust, et. al. (Big Horn County, WY) Represented private landowner in securing easement to landlocked parcel based upon implied easement, prescriptive easement, and way of necessity.

  19. http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/08/13/qa-what-are-warren-jeffs-ties-to-canada/

    Some quotes from :

Q&A from National Post. What are Warren Jeffs' ties to Canada?

What is the connection between Texas and Bountiful?

"...Citing evidence collected in the Jeffs investigation, B.C. lawyers offered up a list in court earlier this year of 31 underage “celestial” brides of the sect who had been moved across the Canada-U.S. border to marry mostly middle-aged men. At least five were girls from Bountiful handed over to Jeffs to be his wives, the court was told. Other girls have been brought north to B.C. to marry men there.

What other evidence is there that children are being mistreated in Bountiful?

Carolyn Jessop, a former member of the fundamentalist sect, told the B.C. Supreme Court early this year that babies were first slapped until they cried, then held under water until they stopped crying, as a technique to teach obedience. The process is repeated, she said, until the child is so exhausted that she or he does not cry at all..."

  21. Just posted on FLDS TEXAS site, I am dumping for protection reasons. The reason abuses were ignored is the state AG's were relying on county DA's that already had a complicit relationship with the local fundementalist. Keep in mind RG was interviewing politicians for AP stories. What he states helps people understand why the subject went ignored. If he could not get traction, then how could a VICTIM see justice?

  25. This link explains the relationship between the FLDS and the AUB, and also answers someone's question about why a Musser was 'married' to a Jeffs. All the Mussers stayed with the FLDS as far as I know. The article is long but very informative . Rulon Allred was the AUB President who married two fifteen year old Jessop girls. http://www.mormonfundamentalism.com/ChartLinks/RulonCAllred.htm

  26. I have a question and am not sure where to post it but here goes....
With all the children born into FLDS there must be a few born with disabilities, deformities, congenital and chromosonal issues. Especially since cousins marry cousins, brothers marry sisters, etc. What happens to these children?

  27. Thank you girl2. I will go watch them over coffee.

Free and clear, TY. I am interested in seeing that. The groups always seem to declare separations but it seems if you follow the marriage trails, they are not all so far apart.

Thank you so much for sharing! Very good footage and the journalist is really likable.

During the interviews we get to see so many of the characters and places that we have heard about through the years.

I teared up through Wards interview. So very sad. I don't understand how Warren got away with it all for so long.

So much was gathered by so many people. Civil Lawsuits on molestation and still the law feigned they did not have enough to pursue him. The time it took for the law to intervene, in itself, is a true crime.
