COMING SOON! SEASON THREE FINALE......... Part Two!

That nasty Flu bug has attacked SWB folks like the snowstorm in Rudolph.  Cynical
is very sick, I'm not far behind. Please be patient for Review Part #2, we aim to please but can't control illness.!!

Here's another little topic starter. You folks have had me literally spitting out the chicken soup in laughter and have really impressed me with your thoughts and comments.

Recently, Mr. 007 - Actor Daniel Craig got his self worked up and talked in CQ about Reality stars wanting privacy. I think it REALLY applies to the Browns.

....Craig goes on to point out one of the major downfalls of reality TV; once you let people in, you can't shut them out. "I think there's a lot to be said for keeping your own counsel," Craig tells GQ. "You can't buy it back. You can't buy your privacy back. 'Ooh, I want to be alone.' F--k you. We've been in your living room. We were at your birth. You filmed it for us and showed us the placenta, and now you want some privacy?".....

What are your thoughts on that? I say AMEN! If you show me your who- ha and moley arm, you are fair game!

  1. I doubt that any family subjecting themselves to being "reality" star has any idea what it's like. Is it worth losing your family's privacy for a few dollars?

  2. I wonder if the Brown adults allowed any of their children to vote on whether they wanted their lives broadcast on television. For that matter, I wonder if the wives had a vote, too - or did Kody make the decision for everyone?

Reality tv has been around for a long time. I can't believe that anyone going into something like this doesn't know exactly what they are getting into.

This show supposedly began as Kody's not wanting to hide his family anymore and show the world an alternate lifestyle. Now every show oozes sadness and pain from either the wives or the kids, usually both. Meanwhile, Kody goes around driving his fifth wife (with that stupid hair blowing in the wind), flitting from bed to bed, and not seeming to parent his children all that much. Oh, and bopping from business idea to business idea but not seeming to actually work at doing anything at all.

I think I just answered my own question.

  3. Well, I feel like if they're going to get the benefits (ie. money), they have to pay the price. That's what they signed up for when they signed on the dotted line.

  4. Why would the Brown's have a Pie/Shake Cafe represent them to the Media? But then again, who else would be willing to do that?
Scroll down to the bottom of Sammy's Cafe's Media page and they proudly put a picture of the Brown's front and center. Interesting that the Brown's personal youtube videos were taken down as soon as they started representing them. This will be interesting. A family who wants to own a fitness gym represented by a Pie/Shake place. That is a great match....Wait.....

  6. I don't actually understand what it is that they offer at public speaking events. They obviously don't tell the truth. I would REALLY enjoy going to a question and answer session that was not pre-screened so I could ask them some real questions like: "So Kody, do you share all of your money from the show with your wives or do you just pay their bills? I am just wondering since you say they are your wives, but they aren't legally entitled to anything since I am sure there is one check paid directly to you."

  7. This was a very telling episode. Meri with all of the comments about desention in the ranks, never having a good relationship with sister wives before Robin came along, etc. I thought the whole point of the religious choices they made was to have that kinship and love for one another. She hasn't had that for 20 years??? I get that you marry into situations, can't pick your in-laws but this is different. It makes me sad they seem more like prisoners or concubines then sister wives that are as married to the others as they are married to the man.

  8. I was planning on keeping all my smart-ass remarks to myself....until the family plugged thier camcorder into my TV.

  9. Cynical,MisterSister,....you got a flu bug? really? Might be SW withdrawls. Or..sniffing too many smelly markers. No matter what Kody said...the research dept. and I beg to differ. After a couple goofy grapes...yes maybe our nosed itched a bit.....but not even the wacky watermelon or the very cherry made me high. Im over Christine being on meds...what is Kody on?

  10. They agreed to be public figures the day they signed their contract with TLC. Yes, they are still entitled to a reasonable amount of privacy. Their medical records, financial records, etc. should be protected as should everyone's. Additionally, they should (and do) have avenues of recourse available to them in the event of paparrazzi photographing them in their own homes without permission. Those types of things are still "their business" and the courts will see it that way, as well.

That said, in becoming (of their own free will) public figures, they willingly sacrifice other levels of privacy that you and I have a legal right to. Any first year law student can tell you that. It's just the price of playing the game.

  11. I don't know why people with kids need to whore themselves out on national TV. I really don't! oh yeah the truck loads of money they're making. I also believe the harder you claim to thump that bible the more you're using it as a crutch for your moral/religious shoertcomings. I loved the first season of the show. It felt genuine now just like Kody's hair, greasy.

  12. One more thing....I have seen so much of Robyn's body lately that I think it might qualify her and I as "spiritually married". In my house...if any woman shows that much skin...she better be the one running the show. So Robyn? When can you be reassigned to my family?

  13. Cynical....take your time...
    Christine is Plyg royalty
    Robyn is trailer park royalty
    Kody is meathead royalty

  15. I swear that I just saw Janelle working in the cake decorating shop on At the Bellagio on the TLC show Fabulous Cakes. She was in the background, but there was a clear shot of her, and I am almost certain it was Janelle. Any one else heard she works there?

Also, this is my first comment so HI, and I love this blog!

  20. WendyLou---next time, pull out the ole camera phone! and welcome!

  21. I think I saw her on the TV. The DVR was already taping (curses on that stupid Dora the Explorer). The show was called Fabulous Cakes and it was on TLC. I really hope it was Janelle because she always seemed to be a real worker, and that wiorking made her happy. If it was her, it likely means that her and her kids have health insurance. The show was filmed at the Bellagio.

Can you imagine Princess Robin doing that hard work in a bakery?

I'm a liberal mainstream Mormon. One husband who has one wife. 2 kids, including a 6 week old. 2 cats.

  22. Wow this gang is contracted, represented, paid, all over the place. Money coming in for tv exclusively, for health food and vitamins, gyms, youtube videos represented.....this must be the only place that doesn't pay them.

The site could get a whole lot meaner----the more ways they find to promote themselves and get paid, the nastier the comments. Seems fair to me.

  23. I didn't think Janelle was ever a cook to begin with let alone a baker/cake decorator. Bellagio is a pretty prestigious hotel and I would think you would have to have some kind of culinary credentials to get a job baking there.

    just my 2 cents.

  24. ok, sorry - i re-read it. apparently you're not saying she was working at the Bellagio but the show Fabulous Cakes was being filmed there. Other than that, i stand by everything else i said why i doubt it's her. ;')

  25. Clairification: I believe I saw Janelle working as an employee in the cake bakery at the Bellagio ON the TLC show Fabulous Cakes. She was working as an assistant, carrying a tray of sugar flowers from point a to point b. Likely not a lot of quailifications needed to do prep, manual labor, and clean up.

    Ok, back to Robin's chin.

EXACTLY!!! This is what the Brown's don't understand and will be their undoing.

Can't have your cake and eat it too!
