I am calling BS! Last week he was upset TLC put up a "Hair" Clip and his "facebook friends" couldn't TALK about his hair, now he does himself? What a cheeze.
In 2011, the Sister Wives Blog started out as a place to talk about the TLC reality show "Sister Wives", Kody Brown and his wives Christine, Robyn, Meri and Janelle. Today we not only discuss the show, we discuss Polygamy in our society, and the public perceptions of the Mormon Religion. We discuss "Polygamy USA" and will be covering "My 5 Wives." This blog is geared towards the adult reader, so please, no one under the age of 18 years. Thank you!

this IS the same video that TLC put up.
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw all of that! I was googling during/after the show too.
ReplyDeleteFundamental Fitness (because they are FUNDAMENTAL mormons). I'm not sure whether to high-five them for a clever name, or shake my head.
Glad to see them at least trying to do a new business that is legit.
Yes, Christine lost 4 pounds in 60 days, so now we should all pay the Browns for fitness advice. That is crazy!!!, not to mention criminal!!!
ReplyDeleteSo is this part of the LIV? what the heck is it?
ReplyDeleteI am more intrigued right now than I have been in quite a while where this family is concerned.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else think that they see the end of their TLC-ing coming in the near future and feel like they'll actually have to support themselves soon?
I do wonder, TLC doesn't push them much.
ReplyDeleteHEY, to ((You know who)) That emailed me about genealogy and stuff... I will go through all the goodies. I have some answers for you.....before - some of the pics weren't there. Should be interesting and I'll will get back to you!!
WHY would I pay $$$ to work out at a place owned by 5 people whom have no training in exercise and who are all overweight( minus Kody and Robyn ).. Their teen girls are obese and it's sad...they are just out to make a buck on their name.TLC, please dump them. At least Kate Gosselin fed her kids organic and exercised!
ReplyDeleteSo it looks like everything goes back to Liv International. If you go to Fundamental fitness website there is a link to their official trainer (Bill) and on his Facebook page there is a link to Liv International so looks like it is all connected and I bet it's gonna keep going back to Liv International. Funny, the show just started and they just said they are going to open their own fitness center. Hmmm. There is one of those on every corner so I hope they have some ways to set themselves apart, it won't be easy. I think Bill is good for Christine. Take that how you want to...
ReplyDeleteOoh I like Meri's hair in the photo shoot.
ReplyDeleteYeah myvegaslife. I liked seeing Bill and Christine interact. She looked happy, and she doesn't have that same light about her around Kody and the other wives. Not saying she should be with Bill. Just that she shouldn't be stuck with a man with 3 other wives.
ReplyDeleteBill. What a sellout. Seeing him be all chummy with Kody and in on the business thing made me feel dirty. Clearly he just is hopping on for his 15 mins of fame and the hopes of being the next trainer on The Biggest Loser.
BTW--The other sellout on the show, that Reverend, her last name is actually Hensen (Henson?). Turmminino or whatever bass ackwards name she uses on twitter is her maiden name. I think they used it on the show too. Not sure why but it bugs me. Just seems like ANOTHER dishonesty.
I may be commenting on the obvious...BUT.....why are they living in Las Vegas still? If the reason of investigation, persecution, and whatever else they think the state of Utah is losing sleep over, then why are they on the world wide web giving updates of their family? Is he trying to save taxpayer money??all he complains about is all the traveling back and forth he does visiting each house, well seems to me that he has no underage wives,he is not legally married to all of them, except for Meri....pack up and go back to Utah so Robyn can back into the church that speaks of sooo much, and his kids be happy and all under one roof...OH wait,in Utah Robyn lived AWAY from the rest of the family, soooo instead of building on a room to the existing house, the Kodster decides to uproot 17 kids and 4 women,to 4 houses in a state no one wanted to live in,so they could...what? Be a family? I may be rambling and I apologize, but these are the thoughts that go through my head when I watch him...honestly,I turn it to another channel when Kodster pretends to teach me a doctrine, yet will disrespect his vows and wives and discuss all private things to a bunch of guys who TLC picked oug to be his 'buddies',I dont listen to Robyn at all because it is soon to follow with her pushing out a tear on how hard her life was before she was blessed with finding Kody, and now,Meri is crying and doing her best Eeyore impression, trying to keep up with Robyn.....I like Christine and Janelle..they know whats going on and enjoying the ride....sorry for my ramble, but it feels good to have a place to put it out there....lol
ReplyDeleteHow do they start a business when they've all been bankrupt? Their new business partner better hope TLC keeps paying the bills for these lunatics.
ReplyDeleteGreat point, Boston corgi.
ReplyDeleteI find this whole fitness thing such a joke! Yes, I would like to join their gym, get on their nutrition plans, and have that physically active lifestyle they obviously live to lose only 3lbs in 60 days!!! Sign me up for a 2 year membership please! Ha.
Seriously?! This is a joke. Has to be... Good one Browns! You really made me lol on that one. What's next, a women's fashion line?
Are a lot of people buying gym memberships in this economy? sounds like they have a pretty good money maker doing this TLC gig.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to their REAL ESTATE careers? They also had people had out 'vitamin energy mixes' at local sports games. (Saw posted that the mixes were from 'KodyB...' and made in Utah). Now this LIV thing, which has been 'twittered' about, and their DETOX kits. Now a gym, related to LIV? Like others say, who would pay for a gym where the OWNERS can only lose a couple of pounds every 60 days? Besides the fact they have their 'detox kits' for weight. And while Kody feels he can 'sell' himself/family, there are going to be people who will not want to associate with them-either because of their religion or because of the KBrown BULLSH... And let's face facts-Vegas, ton of hotels, resorts-doesn't everyone of THEM HAVE A GYM IN THEM? And what is Kody + his four bringing to this Gym venture? Can't be money, can't be because they have CREDIT, it has to be because they are on TLC. The future of this gym? if it EVER takes off, which I doubt, Bankruptcy within the year.
ReplyDeleteboston corgi: that was the first thought I had too, how do they even have a line of credit right now? I can't imagine with multiple bankruptcies they could get a loan - but, I am no expert on bankruptcy law.
ReplyDeleteluna: yes, what happened to the real estate jobs?
I remember the episode where Kody said he wanted to go into health foods or something and remember everyone was opposed to it. Now it makes sense. Kody wasn't thinking up ideas - TLC had already scripted this season: Kody idea, trainer with wives, more trainer with wives, interject LIV speaking engagements (don't think for a minute TLC didn't have to approve this), wha-la, fundamental fitness.
Mister Sister, I think it might be time for a friendly slogan competition for the Brown's new business. Hmmm....
Kody and family do not have to qualify for a commercial lease to sponsor a personal trainer. When he stated he was starting a gym, I think he lied. From what I have read, the personal trainer goes to the client's house for the sessions, or if there is a group registered for a class at the same time, the trainer rents a facility, like a church gym or community center. I think what is going on is Kody is getting a referral fee for every session booked through his website. And I think that this personal trainer is an idiot if he thinks that Kody's name and reputation will cause the bookings to soar. How often have we recommended a restaurant, or a hairdresser, or a personal trainer to a friend? And do we ever charge for that? NO. Just goes to show how conceited and egotistical Kody Brown is.
ReplyDeleteI can't stop ROFLMAO. Really. This is all just too hilarious.
ReplyDeleteGod bless reality television.
Thanks for the info Female Attorney!
ReplyDeleteI was actually happy to see that they were starting a business - I mean, yes, they aren't the poster people for fitness but maybe they were going to take the angle of everyday, ordinary people who struggle with weight trying to make a change.
However, if this is just a booking system for Bill to go to people's homes I really don't get it. In the show they talked about finding a facility to buy so perhaps the home visits are just a temporary thing until they have the money to purchase a gym property?
Will be interesting to see if this pans out. I fear it could just be another "get rich quick" idea by Kody that ultimately fizzles out.
I wish Janelle could start her own career again!
Being in the fitness industry myself (group X instructor) I am just shaking my head in disbelief. Bill their trainer - how qualified is he to be their 'spearhead' trainer? our Tier 1 trainers (the newbies) at our club seem more knowledgable and capable than Bill does. Why is he not giving the women advice about their nutrition, their calorie intake? Even if he doesn't have a separate certification for nutrition, he can still counsel basic weight management. I have already seen comments on FB and even TWOP saying how hard it is to lose weight and etc. I'm not denying that it IS difficult - but even with minor modifications the women should have EASILY lost at least 10 lbs in 2 months. EASILY. 2-3 lbs is just a 'fluctuation' not really a loss.
ReplyDeleteand it costs a LOT of money to open a fitness facility...a LOT. even the most basic equipment can get pricey very quickly. Liability insurance...workers comp for Bill and whoever else they decide to hire...advertising...etc. I just googled Gyms in Las Vegas and found there are many MANY gyms and fitness facilities etc already. what will the Browns have to offer? and why would I join a club operated by people who obviously know NOTHING about the business? If you want an example of what happens in those situations, read up on the Curves for Women franchise...most of those were sold to people who knew little or nothing about the health club industry...and many MANY have gone under. this should be interesting.
HA! I can't think of a worse business for them to start. A fitness center? They might as well start a school teaching Chinese with all their expertise!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh!
No mention has been made of the wives' diet, and I suspect they are eating a lot of comfort food to get them through all the stress. Why isn't this being addressed, or would it be too much for them to expose it/give it up? Christine "confessed" using antidepressants, then quickly said "I'm half off them," with Janelle saying "way to go" or something. Why? Most doctors advise you to stay on them well past the stressful period to avoid relapse, and believe me they aren't. Also: did they keep their megahouse in Utah? IS this only temporary? The questions abound on this show. Did the real estate "career" fall through (which it would, given the economic situation in Vegas)? How do they get the $ to buy all that furniture? Look up the Sister Wives recipes sometime, they're all empty carbs.
ReplyDeleteKody Brown is such a cheeseball.
ReplyDeleteahahahaha! That's so funny, your wives calling your hair the "Fifth wife"! :0) I've never seen you with short hair, but I really like the long hair!
ReplyDeleteAnony 1:25 - I'll try to help answer some...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you- Christine and MERI and JANELLE probably need to be on them. For a good year or so. What's the shame? My Dr. told me when I was ready, I could go off with no problems, and I did. when I tried to go off too soon, I felt really weird. They probably only told because they were afraid of it leaking out.
Yes, they are wanting to build a COMPOUND in Vegas, They have said 4 homes. Which is stupid. Why not connect them all with a HUGE LR kit?
I am sure TLC pays for all of it. And, It is a resale store- so it's not the tops.
realkodybrown reminds me of I'm the Slim Shady...the real slim shady...
ReplyDeleteA lot of gyms are going out of business here in Vegas, with one that continues to flourish and over-run the rest, which took them decades. There is no way they are going to even make a tiny dent in this market.
ReplyDeleteI sure-as-s*** would not take any kind of health advice from them. Do you see what they eat?! I remember in the beginning watching them go grocery shopping and stocking their pantries with crap. It's so easy to see one of their hugest problems: trans-fats. It's all in their waists and it reads like a book. They eat out too much.
Aren't they taking some kind of powder or pill and twittering about how much weight they've lost? I swore I saw something that says everyone in the family is taking it.
Oh no, horrible thought. The next season could show up with Kate Gosselin in it. She's due in Vegas the first of Dec to run her first marathon. Wouldn't it be awful to somehow give into her and work her into the fitness angle of the Browns?
ReplyDeleteThey really should not be in Vegas. So many have lost their jobs and their homes: people with college degrees, people who had seniority (20+ years); it's just ridiculous. I don't understand why they would come here. Unless of course they already have money, which they obviously must since they don't work. And renting right now is almost twice as much as a mortgage payment (for current selling prices), so they are really paying a bunch for those houses. The house my husband and I own now, we would be scraping by if we were simply renting. It's literally two times as much per month.
ReplyDeleteThe Browns seems so schemey, slimy and misleading as far as money is concerned.
Anon 10:01, do you know Robyn's ex?!?
ReplyDeleteBrit...
ReplyDeleteThye peddle the LIV products, which are a bunch of Diet potions, horrible expensive. It's a MLM product, like Amway.
to our moderator: is the rant from Anon 10:01 (and others!) really necessary or acceptable for this blog?
ReplyDeleteI do believe in free speech but I choose not to listen to hateful name calling.
This feels like a "loosly scripted" reality show where the theme is set for evening and issues are raised to see how the readers react to them. I think the Browns are handling their issues better than some of the people here are reacting to the topics we discuss here. - just my little bit of free speech.
Maybe it's just me, but the site as a whole isn't loading right now...I keep getting redirected to a page from the OWN network.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else?
People here keep slamming the Browns because they talk about wanting to do one thing (real estate for example) and end up doing something else. Is it not possible that much happens in their lives that might change their minds in the weeks between the few minutes of footage we see every week? Do none of you ever have a change of heart.. or events come up that force you to change your plans? Why is it so essential to call the Browns liars for changing their minds? They likely have little control over the editing of the show and therefore the parts that we get to see.
ReplyDeleteSure, they seem to be grasping at straws to make a living... but so are many of us regular folks.
I do appreciate the presentation of facts such as their bankruptcies but lets not play gossip girl/guy and spread rumors as to WHY they are doing what they did.
I think it's an issue with the clip from the Rosie show?
ReplyDeleteAgain, Anon from 11.03
I would call it lying because: She said this in October. In October, the real estate thing was long off, no one as studying for it at all.
ReplyDeleteThey were on to fitness by then, so yes, that is being dishonest. why not say, no, that didn't work for us, instead? Catherine, they should just be honest with their audience. It's thier meal ticket.
An hour a day??? Seriously. Did Jenelle really say she works out an hour a day???
ReplyDeleteGuess that worked out as well as the real estate licenses. Probably still studying for that an hour a day too.
I guess Robyn bashing her ex husband on national TV is A ok, since she doesn't use "bad words".
ReplyDeleteName calling is name calling.
Go Goji! hahahah
ReplyDeleteCatherine not always so great said...

Some people may get a little too angry and be victims of word-vomit, but honestly, you can just go over it and ignore it. I hope censoring others' opinions doesn't start because that would take a lot away from this blog.
If someone thinks they are liars, they think they are liars. Who cares.
Hi everyone! Having fun? The REAL fun comes win my Jinxie puts her review up!
ReplyDeleteI had to delete a couple of comments tonight because they either had 1) a threat to the Browns in them, or 2) name calling another poster.
We have deleted very few in our time here. Blogger IS messing up tonight. So if you posted and it was a normal post and didn't show up, please re-post. I have seen some posts come through and then not show up here on blogger, and others saying another blog comes up instead of us. If anyone has anymore problems, please email us. Thank you!
to BRIT--- I didn't see your post above.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, if there wasn't a threat involved, I would have left the post you are speaking of. BUT, looking at it, they specifically threatened Robyn. I don't like that. We may poke fun, some may be more crude than others, that's fine, but, a threat is not cool. I didn't notice it at first, and you may not have either. Other than that, it would have stayed.
A threat?1 yea, wow I totally did not see that!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I am not following the time line SO carefully that I can trace who said what and when - but I would think that TLC is influencing what they do.. and perhaps there are other factors we can never know for sure about.
ReplyDeleteI do think it was odd during one of their interviews that Kody said he has been very successful in his career (3 bankruptcies in the family does not support that fact.)
Also, I think that it was manipulative of Robyn to whine about not having had baby furniture. She likely made a conscious choice to not have any furniture -- Who would live in a community or family where the other members didn't help you with that kind of thing?
(As a side note, I chose not to have baby furniture because it suited my mothering style to have my babies sleep with me. Perhaps that was Robyn's choice at that time as well -- who knows!)
Bottom line - these people are all pretty much thinking out loud and are at the whim of TLC. I cut them a little slack.
As for Robyn (and Kody) continually putting down Robyn's ex-husband, I disapprove. He is not here to defend himself and it is often the case that both people involved have some blame.
ReplyDeleteWhatever happened, I am disappointed to see Robyn and Kody not practicing the basic rules of compassion and forgiveness. It would seem he is not a monster or he would not be allowed unsupervised visits with the children... and down the road, her children may view these episodes.
Side note on opening a gym in Las Vegas... I live in Vegas and work out at LVAC (Las Vegas Athletic Club) and it is top of the line. There are 6 different facilities here in Vegas (and Henderson) and it is THE gym everyone I know goes to. Yes, there are some other facilities in town as well, including the national chain Anytime Fitness they found Bill at, but here in Vegas, LVAC is THE fitness location. The idea of them trying to start a gym is not only rediculous for every reason everyone just listed, but also because of the market here in Vegas!!
ReplyDeleteMountains Edge- VERY interesting to hear about the gyms from a Las Vegas homegirl and a workout one as well!
ReplyDeleteI wondered if Bill was really needing a better job, and obviously, he wasn't in the best place, so they probably picked someone NOT so great. hmmmm
Thanks for your insight
Haha! I work out at LVAC too! I mentioned it in my post in here somewhere but didn't name names. I didn't want to plug LVAC but it really is amazing and started out as nothing. But there was only them and 24hr. Now there's Planet Fitness (almost gone), Gold's Gym, 24hr, Anytime Fitness (I'm sure they will be gone), LVAC, Vegas Fit, and countless other small, locally-owned gyms! The Browns will NOT have a gym that survives in this!
ReplyDeleteIf they were smart, they would open a healthy "fast-food" chain. Like Koo Koo Roo...oh wait, they went out of business. I liked them though. Stick one of those next to a big LVAC and you have gold.
Playing devils advocate here a little bit because this evening I saw Robyn, one of her girls, and Solomon at our Super Walmart and their cart was already pretty full of fresh fruit and vegetables, no junk food. So maybe they are trying to eat healthier (at least those in Robyn's house, can't speak about the others). I saw her daughter first and didn't recognize her, I probably would have not seen Robyn at all but because the daughter kept looking at me I thought maybe she was one of my clients kids so I was looking around for someone I recognized when Robyn walked up behind her pushing a cart with Solomon in it. I smiled at Robyn and asked to see Solomon, he looks just like the pictures of him. I mentioned how brave she was to go shopping with an infant and that I couldn't do that, too many people and she just smiled, but she didn't seem happy. At first I thought its probably because they get tired of being stopped all of the time, but I don't know that anyone else recognized them, at least not when we were in the same areas of the store. So then I realized she might not have WANTED to take Solomon to the store with her but maybe she had to? I didn't get near Solomon though because I hate when people want to get too near my baby. I'm a protective mama, ya know?
ReplyDeleteUnsure how I feel about the gym idea, we do have lots of options here, but I do like Anytime Fitness BECAUSE its smaller and not the zoo LVAC & 24Hour can be. Probably not winning any points here tonight but, eh, you can't win them all. But I think there are a lot of other business ventures that could be more sucessful where they would have less competition. Now, if they were really smart they would still have at least 1 of them get their real estate license so they could be their own agent when they look to buy a house, land or lease comercial property.
I'm thinking a second hand kids retail store in the NW. We have a few but they could probably stock it completely on their own, no need for consignment for a while.
Re: the furniture they keep buying, it is used or from a model home when purchased from Coleen's but still usually overpriced. Craigslist is a LOT cheaper, but not as simple to shop from nor would anyone get a plug. I'm guessing Coleen's gave them a great deal...
yes, I'm sure Coleen's gave TLC a great deal! I HIGHLY doubt the Brown's paid for any of it.
ReplyDeletereally if there is a "the" gym its not LVAC.. although popular they are a zoo. the anytime fitnesses are nto going anywhere as they are nationwide. and of course there is Golds which is a shade more serious that LVAC
ReplyDeletethat is cool myvegaslife. So did she actually say ANY words to you?
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere (here?) that it is pretty custom for the AUB kids to cosleep in their mom's bed as babies. So maybe THAT is why she never had a crib. Don't really need one if you plan on cosleeping. kwim?
In which case I think whining and trying to make it sound like lack of money is wrong.
The flipside is maybe she HAD to cosleep because they couldn't afford the crib (in her mind). But then of course you have the $1,000 VS bill and the questions of why wouldn't her family buy her a cheap used one?
SW leaves me with so many questions.
Brit... Oe has to wonder how the kody selected vegas out of thin air.. no fundamental LDS there.. lousy job market.. and hardly a great place to drag 17 kids and expect them to settle in easily...
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that TLC picked the city..maybe cheaper to produce it there..housing cheaper and there is always the sin city aspect...
Like most reality TV seems this well scripted .
I can not stand Kody...he lives off the women and they like it.. He is such a phony ..
Could someone explain the law suits to me?/ Why the move??
Tar, there are a number of posts on the lawsuits BS- if you look through prior months. I will help you later!!! Thanks!! (I'll come back here and post some)
ReplyDeleteOk so in recent news an obese kid was taken away from his family... why has this not happened too the brown family? All their teen girls are obese and many of the boys as well. The wives spend all their energy trying not to be jealous over who spends more time with their idiot husband that the health and emotional well being of the kids is obviously neglected.
ReplyDeleteWho would go to that gym? I wouldnt want to give them my money. Their lives are a circus train wreck and i feel sorry for all of them. I hope they find peace cuz they seem like individually nice people... not great as a group.
just found blog...really agree ..about over weight teen kids....I was wondering if anyone noticed...kids and 3 mothers trying to eat away...unhappiness????
ReplyDeleteSeriously Kody and his wives could get by with a Jim Bob & Michelle DUGGAR size home and even move to Arkansas and no one would bother them there. Im not downing the Browns or the Duggar families Im just saying... rather then spend all that money on so many houses when you want to be ONE FAMILY.... Learn from the Duggars who are all under ONE roof with as many members of their family as the Browns just with one wife.
ReplyDeleteI am a southern Baptist middle-aged woman with an only child (grown) and a husband who is 25 years my senior. I have to say, I LOVE Sister Wives. I like all of the women, probably Janelle the most and I like Cody and all the kids. Would I live in a polygamist family, certainly not BUT, that is not in my religion either. To live a happy life on this Earth, you have to be willing to accept all people whether you agree with their lifestyle or not. I choice not to have an opinion about right or wrong for other people. I think the show is great. I don't even own a TV (by choice, not financial) but I do pay to watch their show online. It is the only show I pay to watch. I think they are doing a great job and definitely bringing a better image of the fundamentalist mormon so we can get that Jeffs guy out of the news who goes against the fundamental beliefs of nearly all religions practiced in mainstream America. Love Sister Wives!! Rock on!
ReplyDelete
