  1. A few months ago on this blog, someone with the last name Barber posted that it was only recently that Kody and Christine found out they were related (3rd cousins once removed). *IF* that is true, possibly an "ICK factor" may be causing some of the relationship problems. But it's hard to believe Kody would not know he was related to the Allred clan.

  3. ick factor with 3rd cousins once removed???? here are the states that completely allow first cousins to marry with no "once removed" or any other restriction:

Alaska, Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C.

since polygamists within religion marry cousins a lot, i would hardly think this would present an ick problem with Kody. Janelle was his sister-in-law before she divorced and he married her. and he only had a supposed "ick" factor with Robyn cause he hadn't fathered her kids she was bringing into the marriage.

p.s. i find it interesting in light of all the Southern redneck jokes about family inbreeding that the redneckiest states aren't even on the "OK to marry 1st cousins list." hmmm....

  4. The ick factor for me is that not only was Janelle Kody's sister in law, she's also his step sister. Her mom is one of Kody's dad's wives. Now, that's ICK to me!

  6. This is who they choose as a good poster family for polygamist's? A sick family with cousin and sister marriages? Yes I know step-sister! Still wrong. This is no family tree it's a family grapevine! That's just horribly messed up.
