"Sister Wives " Discussion for now on S3E1 Comments

Put all your comments about the show here!!! Let's talk!!

57 comments:

  1. Janelle looks like she has been crying, so does her son, and Madison appears to want out of their religion. None of the wives really looks happy.

  2. Fill those of us in that don't get - and have to wait till tomorrow to watch!!! Give updates!

  3. What happened with Robyn telling eveyone, I dvd's it but missed it, what was the bullcrap about?

    ReplyDelete
  4. What was the comment Christine made about being in the house a year and a half?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Robyn, "I just want to let Mary know that I'LL BE OKAY if she's mad at me about the baby." OMG!! then it went downhill from there for me...

it must be incredibly lonely at the top for Janelle. the only one who has the maturity and logic of an adult. they really went there and talked to that pastor first before they were even all on board with it and then proceed to have their very dysfunctional family discussion about it in front of him??? lordy! and Janelle is the one who has to pipe up and stop everyone and say, "we really need to be discussing this at home." what a freaking waste of that pastor's time and graciousness. AWKWARD to say the least.

well this is just the tip of the iceberg for me. i don't even know where to start. there's no words for the amount of pain Hunter is in. very bad sign for a teenager to cut himself off from anyone and everyone his own age including his siblings. christine and truley is all he feels he's got and how much time and energy does christine have to give him really?

lordy, the only thing Robyn has brought to the table is buckets of tears for all!!

  6. anon - i just figured Christine was referring to maybe they'd signed a two-year lease and they were 6 months into it when that was being taped.

i'm sure there's no plans past a year and a half in advance!!

  7. I think Robyn just kept egging Meri, who was fine and she should of SHUT UP.
Janelle, please bitch slap her for me.

    ReplyDelete
  8. ok, and i had a creepy thought during the pool party part that some of the parents probably hung around to keep their eye on Kody to make sure he wasn't eyeing up their daughter for wife #5. there now, i said it out loud.

    ReplyDelete
  9. cc What was the Bullcrap moment with Robyn?

    ReplyDelete
  10. anon - exactly. "really, meri, are you sure you're ok with it? i mean really? you're not mad? you don't feel bad? seriously?" ad nauseam for sure. she finally stopped once she got Meri to tear up about it.

i thought Janelle did look like she wanted to bitch slap her a few times. and i'm so glad that teen girl shut Robyn up about following their faith. she'd already said, "we've always been told that we were free to choose our religion." and Robyn keeps piping in to change that. they all want her to SHUT UP. these teens are not hers she's new into the family and changing the rules for them. they must hate her inwardly.

and Kody sending Robyn up to talk to Mariah in the bathroom w/Meri was again SO INAPPROPRIATE. let them have their space and let Mariah come around when she's ready and not forced to hug Robyn by Robyn. "OH, are you feeling your Mom's pain?" OMG!!!

AARRCCHHH!!!!! the whole show was depressing to me. i need to watch it again and look for a true and genuine normal happy moment.

  11. Wouldn't surprise me if Madison wrote a tell all book about her family one day. I would read it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. anon - another robyn narcissistic moment, "it makes me feel bad when there's someone that's not happy about my joyous event."

    ReplyDelete
  13. yeah, she acted like she's had it with all that b.s. plyg religion. she said she wants to go to another church NOW cause she does not like their church. i hope they let her! i mean i hope ROBYN lets her!

  14. Starting right off this season with a trainwreck.

i got the idea that Robyn was kind of disappointed that Meri WASN'T upset about the pregnancy. I mean that was one of the reasons she was brought into the family, to be fruitful and multiply right?

Robyn has absolutely NO RIGHT to dictate how the older kids should be raised. Their birth mom should be the final arbiter. One would think that they were going to a Unification Church (Moonie) or Hare Krishna sect youth group the way Kody was going on. I went to youth groups and there was a little religion in them but mostly fun.

Kody looks ridiculous. His hair - OMG I can tell he's trying to make up for losing it on top - if there's a S4, I bet he'll be wearing a baseball hat, do-rag or beanie most of the time. and he has definitely gained weight. as have all the three original wives (couldn't tell with Robyn) and a lot of the kids. Not that it's a surprise given that they generally eat crap. I can so see a Celebrity Fit Club featuring Kody and the three original wives, with Robyn as "cheerleader". You can so feel a disconnect with Robyn and the other wives despite the cozy promo of them rubbing Robyns belly.

and speaking of food, why kabobs for a teenage party, I would have expected food that was easier to eat like burgers and/or dogs or BBQ chicken.

OMG those poor kids. They apparently won't be allowed to think for themselves. Not just Hunter...the whole bunch of them. Hopefully they will be able to make their OWN decisions.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Let me ask you all something. I came from a small town, but in the summer, during "bible camp" week, we went to ALL the churches with each others friends. It was great fun, we'd go to the Presp, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, and go to the nightly get together, made stuff, sang, etc.
    Did others not do this?
I don't think our parents FREAKED we would be "tainted" in some way, and I see Kody's over concern as a A LACK of prethought.

I think Kody gets freaked out with decisions because he really has no clue, nor does he probably care.

    ReplyDelete
  16. OMG, this family is a mess. Kody really doesn't know his kids. god Forbid he spent 4 nights in the same house with Hunter. Let's face it, he's an absentee dad who tries to act like superdad. The best talks are the quiet, unexpected ones. you can't have unexpected ones when you don't really live with your dad.

  17. They are a stressed, worried, financially strained family with how many teenagers? In Las Vegas? Whatever their dysfunction, whatever the problems of each wife individually or the family collectively, they are living what they believe. In spite of the personal challenges the lifestyle presents. How many of us lead so completely a congruent life that we would appear mature, centered and full of personal peace on camera ALL the time? How many of us completely live what we profess to believe, without tears, occasional doubt or discouragement; how many of us would survive being followed around by a camera crew, the film edited to someone else's agenda, and the resulting publicity/public scrutiny/criticism that would follow? Were you expecting perfection? Complete happiness 24/7? No one has a life like that. No one. We are seeing what the editors of the raw footage want us to see, and I don't believe what we see is a completely real or true reflection of their lives as a polygamous family. Lay off.

    1. Amen So true. And as a Christian I would never let my children, now grown, go to a church outside of our religion. My goal was to raise my children with my believes. So let the Browns do so.

  18. I know They'll take this off, so hurry! someone should download the show to

For us that don't get TLC to watch it.

  19. the film edited to someone else's agenda, and the resulting publicity/public scrutiny/criticism that would follow? We are seeing what the editors of the raw footage want us to see,

Annony, I respect that you believe that, but disagree. ALL of the wives, in interviews, Janelle on twitter, Kody in interview, say they get to decide what get cut, and not put it, and the edit is true to their life.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Nothing make me sicker than people whining about money, and spending it. Really? Does EVERYONE need a pool?

They certainly didn't have the Church thing thought out, now did they? What can't they do to an LDS church, or have church at home, do school activities, and forget it?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Meri was great about the pregnancy, she's old hat at this. She knew it was coming. Sweet Mariah, protective of her mom.
BUT, Robyn not leaving it alone- "I'm ok if your mad"
Seriously, I would hope that ROBYN wasn't wanting tears and jealousy out of Meri, now was she? So she could flip it and cry about it?

    ReplyDelete
  22. In all honesty, this show is becoming more ho hum. Coming here is much funner.
I don't get why Robyn has to stick her nose in EVERYTHING. She's a new poly wife, and is showing no respect for the older ones, literally.

Poor Hunter. I am sure he's better by now. Not because of that stumbling, mumbling daddy that couldn't say on national TV how he was involved with his kids to George S.

  23. What do you guys think about their attire?

  26. When Robyn told the teenagers their frontal lobes weren't developed, I wanted to say, "Don't listen to her; it's the hormones!"

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm actually not sure if Robyn's frontal lobes are developed. She couldn't even spell Wyoming!!! I would love to know how they are footing the bill for 4 homes (I'm assuming they are renting and TLC is helping). I thought Christine said they would only be in the home for a 1.5 years? Plans for one large home? Or maybe they are planning on moving again. I was under the impression they were only in Utah for 5 years.

  28. After watching last night's episode, I think that the show will not be renewed for another season. Can't wait for Madison's book which I anticipate she will write in the future !

    ReplyDelete
  29. If you look at their record, they don't stay in one place more than 5 years, it seems. Andrea, love your comment!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Old Lady: their attire is fairly typical for LDS women (both of the mainstream and mainstream-ish types), at least it is in my neck of the woods anyway (North-Western Canada); so, I'm personally not too shocked by the sight of it.

And at the risk of sounding like a "plod", I'd like to add that I find it rather refreshing to not be inundated with the flesh parade one seems to find on the majority of other television shows these days.

This is, of course, despite the fact that their overall fashion sense is, at times, questionable and their lives, by most accounts, appears to be a Barnum and Bailey Circus delight.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I agree totally, why not just pick a pretty shirt that is mid sleeved or something?
It's the layers that bug me, like an upside down showing - you ending up staring because, often they are too little for them.
I have a stunning step dtr., and I felt lucky she never felt the need to show her skin, if anything, she went the other route.

Christine is from the Allred family. It is believed that Owen was her grandfather.

    Allred family tree

Rumour has it that the HBO series "Big Love" was loosely based on the Allred family and the murder of Owen Allred by a AUB member.

    ReplyDelete
  34. The different wives have at one time or another filed for bankruptcy. AUB supports that women going to get welfare benefits because they are not legally married to Kody and they have children that need health insurance and other financial support. The AUB has compounds in Utah, Mexico, and Wyoming. The family lived in Wyoming before moving to Utah and now Nevada.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Robyn's ex-husband's father is a Jessop and his mother an Allred; Christine's father is also an Allred. Looks like the two of them are descendents of the late AUB leader, Rulon Clark Allred. If I read this right, Christine is the granddaughter of Rulon Allred's second wife, and Robyn's ex-husband is the grandson of Rulon's fourth wife.

Christine and Robyn's ex-husband half-second cousins, Christine and Robyn's children are third half-cousins.

The reason why Janelle has the biggest part of the house is if you look at the property records you will see that she bought it then afterwards had Kodouche and Meri added to the title.

that Kody and Meri filed for bankruptcy in 2005? So Janelle probably had to purchase the house under her name and then their names were added.

Going back to the Allred register, Christine is also related to the LeBaron polygamy sect through her mother, a daughter of Floren LeBaron. This is also interesting,
Christine's maternal grandmother Anna, was not only married to a LeBaron, at some time she was married to Owen Allred, Rulon Allred's brother.

EXCLUSIVE! Inside ‘Sister Wives’ Divorce! Robyn REALLY Likes Victoria’s Secret!
    Tags:

The break-out star from the TLC show ‘Sister Wives’ got divorced back in 2008, and we have the details, including a large debt to the nation’s number one lingerie chain!

HollywoodLife.com dug up the divorce document for Robyn Brown (Kody Brown’s newest (fourth) wife on TLC’s Sister Wives) and looks like Robyn loves lacy underthings! According to the filing, in Ravalli County in Montana, Robyn had serious money issues up until the divorce to David Preston Jessop back in 1999, including owing almost $1,000 to Victoria’s Secret! We’re guessing the unmentionables may have helped her snatch up the desirable Kody Brown.

The divorce document breaks down the separate debts of Robyn & David. Robyn had a mound of debt that was awarded to her in the divorce. Besides the unusually high Victoria’s Secret bill, she also owed thousands to Target and Sears. The total debt awarded to her was… $32,400!

But she didn’t leave the marriage empty-handed — according to the docs she got to keep the Sanyo VCR (a VCR in 2007?) and a Kirby vacuum cleaner.

David didn’t go away light either; he got to keep the 1974 Academy Mobile Home!

Robyn was married to David Preston Jessop back in 1999; the couple had three children together over the duration of their marriage; David, Aurora & Brennan. They filed for divorce in 2007, citing irreconcilable differences.

  40. AND, Kody's grandmother was an Allred, and two of Meri's other "Mothers" were grandchildren of Rulon, along with Christine and David Jessop. It gets really crazy!

  44. Andrea, I believe it was in Pretty in Pink's post Brown News! Where we were told the gossip was that TLC wanted them all in one house; when the women balked, TLC made them pay for the houses out of their money from the show. Think of the money that could of been saved if they had lived together!
I, too, wonder if this will be the end. It's not looking good.

Found this post by someone who is involved with polygamy and her opinion of this show and Big Love. Interesting take on this issue.

  46. This site is great! Really peeks my interest. I read about the pipe bomb murders, Hofman, back in the day, so this has been an interest of mine for some time.

Has anyone had the chance to put together a family tree of everyone in the Brown family, etc. It would be interesting to see a genogram of each adult in this family and then link it back to all the previous/present family members, etc.

    Thanks!! :-)

Brower doesn't expect Jeffs' prison term to have much economic impact on Pringle, which is largely financed by church followers elsewhere, he said.

"They're completely supported by people in Shortcreek," he said. That community on the Utah/Arizona border is hailing Jeffs as a martyr for his religious beliefs, complete with a 38-foot-tall statue of the prophet that it had shipped from Texas to Shortcreek recently.

In it, Jeffs holds a Bible with one hand and a little girl by the other.
