Janelle Brown's Diary

We saw Janelle so quiet in the last episode and she's the one I want to hear from! At first, I thought it was because Robyn will not shut her ratchet jaw mouth long enough to let anyone talk. She certainly seems like she is the Queen Bee, now, isn't she. Janelle, once gained her self esteem as being a huge part of the income process. Probably the most stable worker, on top of being a great conversationalist and child bearer. Now Kadouche has scared her to death last episode (wasn't that freaky), having her move and now, at a loss with herself. After reading her diary, we have a clue. (Below)The girl is VERY unhappy. No real income, Kadouche not worrying, her retirement going up in smoke, and Robyn pregnant to boot! She is shouldering the worry- I don't see any of the others too concerned about it. I so feel for her. She looks like she's gained weight, which is what I do when I worry.

Here's what her Diary Said:
Janelle’s Diary
(( )) Words missing, or parts of word missing, my guess
Just when I think I have learned the lesson God is trying to teach me, he squeezes out the last of the paste or actually the whip cream container and puts it on top of the lesson. I had begun to see that I had really begun to be on the same page with the family in terms of(( ______________ )),(( ____ness)) of the whole family. But then I found myself the past few weeks very very mean with Kody, and __(yelling??) fourteen times a day for no reason. I finally talked with(( _______))  and she helped me sort things out. That and I finally ((_______)) Kody at this very very low point himself.  I think I(( ___lly)) think I really  mourn all I had left behind and ((life??_____)) that had changed.  I had been desperately clinging to this idea of getting a business going to ((stave)) off the loss of my other situation.  I think I have really bottomed out now. I have accepted my loss. Also I realized I need to have a side project I am working on.

Tell us what you think of Janelle's Diary, and how she must feel by now!

  1. I'm a guy- and I think it's sad. Janelle really needs a man that will appreciate all that she gives in the relationship, not a jerk that gets a new chick pregnant with a "bun in the oven". How awful was it him saying that? I personally couldn't fathom getting another baby in the mix. How incredibly thoughtless.

GREAT JOB starting the new blog, and you just started it? Looking forward to more....

  2. Poor Janelle. I think I like her most of all the Sister Wives. Still confused how SHE could have become so paranoid that the police were coming to get them; surely the woman knows what Google is and could have found out on her own that the investigation was over, no one was going to separate her from her children, etc. Her appearance has really gone down since the first season. I hope she can find some work or figure out her side project so she can find some meaning in her life again.....

  3. That diary is sad indeed. The first season,I looked to Janelle for understanding of their situation. I'm intrigued, and it's not a life I want to live. But I really had an appreciation of the way she and Christine made it work and their friendship for each other. In the second season, I think Janelle is so checked out. There is nothing behind her eyes. It's like they drugged her. I was really wondering WTH when she insisted they move NOW! What was really going on? I knew the investigation was pretty much over, and they weren't going to be charged. Why didn't she? I call BS on that whole invetigation story- unless it was welfare fraud too. I want to know what is really going on! I hate Robyn. Does anyone know the TLC payscale?

    ReplyDelete
  4. I totally Agree... with you guys! I looked to her for some sanity in all this, and now, she's very unhappy. I don't think TLC pays That much, maybe leased the houses for a year, and that scares Janelle. Robyn is irritating the crap out if Janelle, not b/c she's a wife, but because she's a burden, she contributes nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  5. TLC does not pay nearly as well as some think. Also please don't go by some of the published guesstimates about the Gosselins. Most of them are grossly inflated. Just as a guide for season four the Gosselins were paid about $22,250 for each 30 minute episode. Season two or three was $5k per 30 minute episode.

I fear that the combination of Robyn and TLC is going to lead to the destruction of the family.

  6. I like this new site! I am sad to see Janelle so sad, makes you wonder ... Robyn knows what's she's doing. She's tearing the family apart, and sticking with the one that she thinks will stay till the end...Meri. hmmmm.

  7. Why do you think they showed the diary? To promote us thinking there was trouble ahead? Good for ratings? I don't know

  8. Maybe it's one of those things we can put a template over and the words spell out- HELP! I am being held against my will. I wish the soap opera aspect was gone. I really enjoyed seeing their lives.

It's rumored the Real Housewives get paid about $125K/season. They also get paid for appearances to events and may receive comps-clothes, gift bags, etc. Most of the HW are recognized before appearing on the show. Different network, but still NBC.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I wish we knew what they were getting paid. Even if it's ALOT, thing is, it could be gone tomorrow, why not pay off the house you have, and save for the future? that's what Janelle is thinking, I bet. The Housewives are a bigger commodity to me, they can go on other shows, advertise, etc. Maybe not.
your Right Geeky Girl - Janelle needs HELP. i really fear she'll have a heart attack.

  10. Amanda, do you know of a way to find out? Seems like there would be some way.

  11. facing helens - Do you think she might of been worried about child services coming in, or ACTING, since we know that she's unhappy with the move? I don't know what scared her, but, her pain is palpable. Your word were so right on.

  12. Sorry, Janelle lost me when they revealed that her mom married Kody's dad. Eek puke gross. I mean, really.

  13. I know Mary, that was freaky....I will be writing on them in the future!

  14. Great website. I was thinking of pausing the show at this very spot and trying to read her diary (I'm a snoop, but it's on national television after all). You saved me the work, thanks!

Janelle is my favorite sister wife too, and she seems very sad and quiet. I hope she finds peace and help soon.

  15. I wish Janelle would leave that putz. The move to Vegas was a train wreck. It's as if there wasn't a single brain cell functioning. Janelle had a good job, but had to leave everything because of the drama created by that goofy man-child. I do like her very much, and think she deserves much better than she's getting.

  16. After reading a comment above in another post about how he's not really religious, this really bothers me. Why would Janelle risk everything for him? I bet this "religion" doesn't really affect their day to day lives, other than clothing and used to discipline.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would just like to say that this is a very happy family. Robyn is A WONDERFUL person and is loved by all who TRULY know her. Janelle was struggling with the move... as were all of the wives. I am a close family friend and have known these people for years, they are all very happy about the new baby on the way and adjusting very well to life in Las Vegas.

  18. Glad to read that last comment which is positive and gives me a better feeling. Dont agree with their polygamous lifestyle but find them loving and refreshing and most interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Can polygamists get divorced?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm enjoying this blog site very much. You speak of issues I've felt guilty questioning over the past 2 seasons. I feel like society's expectation is that we swallow everything presented to us in the media in the interest of "correctness" political or otherwise. As for the question, divorce is permitted, and often encouraged within the various fundy sects. Robyn herself is divorced from a man in the AUB in Montana.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thanks for the info Teresa.

I wonder if Robin's last marriage was polygamist?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes, Polygamists can get divorced under certain circumstances. And Robyn married David Preston Jessop, a family BIG into the FLDS. They had not taken a second wife yet.

  23. Happy women do not weigh about 250 lbs like Janelle. I don't think she is happy. Take a look at these women, everyone except Robyn is VERY heavy. Lots of stress eating or eating for purposes of comforting themselves rather than nutrition. I'm not fooled, and other intelligent people aren't either....These are NOT happy women, they are smiling for the camera in order to keep those checks from TLC rolling in !!!!

Really anon - they are happy about the impending arrival of # 17 ?
That probably is because the taxpayers will shortly be footing the bill for this child, in addition to the others. Soon the American public will tire of the Brown charade, and the flow of checks to the Browns will cease. I guess Janelle will have to file for bankruptcy to get them out of trouble then..

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous:
Excuse me, but of course they are happy about another baby. Wouldn't you be?? Besides, how would you know if they were getting money for having many children...? That doesn't make sense in my eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anon My Friend -
Kody Brown and his concubines will continue to have children to populate his "planet" in the afterlife where he will "rule as a God", all at government expense no doubt.
Once the checks from TLC stop flowing in, the Browns will make all those children dependents on the American welfare system - more bankruptcies, more food stamps, and then welfare for all. I would suggest that this clan of polygamous trailer trash should enjoy the "free ride" from TLC, because that ride will shortly come to an end, and it's back to the trailer park for all of them.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's very easy to be excited about the birth of # 17 when the parents have no expectation that they will ever have to actually work to afford to feed, clothe, educate, or provide health insurance for them. Kody's method of raising children consists of filing bankruptcies, shifting assets around, charging up credit cards, putting the wives on food stamps, and declaring bankruptcy to avoid paying medical bills rather than buying insurance. He could care less if he has another mouth to feed - someone else is paying for it.

  28. Janelle needs to jump on the nearest plane, and GO GO GO!

  29. I agree !! Janelle needs to get her kids and get away from all the BS. Go back to her old job and get her a new man who wuld treat her rite. No way this woman is happy. My heart goes out to her.

  30. My husband's employer has moved us all over the USA over the past 10 yrs. Every move is hard in its own way. That is what I see in Janelle's eyes. We just moved in October half way across the US and I have that same look. I am praying for her, all of them really but her especially. I just want to hug her. Not out of pity but out of understanding. I am going through the same thing and actually started a journal because I saw her and thought maybe it could help me too. Some people move better than others. And she worked in Utah, so she was used to having a lot of interaction with others there and at church. When you have to move and have no friends or family (outside your core) it is very depressing until you can get settled.

As for the show... I liked Kody to begin with but he strikes me as very impulsive. Impulsivity doesn't make a good leader... but.... I personally enjoy the show and find it refreshing. I would like to Facebook the wives, lol, simply for parenting tips! Seriously, I am totally serious. I have three boys and my husband and I struggle with so many things and also how to incorporate our faith into our daily lives.

I don't see how we can judge them on their lifestyle. If they are truly taking advantage of the system then shame on them... but I know so many other people who do so as well. But as a whole, they are people following their faith and raising their kids far better than so many others in our country. I did, however, think it was odd that they went to Vegas on vacation and then poof moved there. We just moved from Nevada and it is expensive! And the public school systems are ranked 48th in the nation. Any time we move I research the place we are moving to and schools is one of the first things we look at. Our kids attended private school while there because the public schools are horrid. Again, I think that is one of those impulsive things because there are so many other states that they could have moved to that would have been more accepting and a lot more financially reasonable. I think that the kids weren't really considered in that move and that was a little disheartening. As non judgmental as Kody thought Vegas would be.. lol... I had to chuckle because you do have 'sin city' but then the outlying areas are pretty judgmental. I always figured it was because the casinos and such were being shoved down everyones throat out there so people were not so tolerant when something out of the norm came into play in the suburbs. (BTW, the schools are so awful because the Casinos are what funds them and they try to give as little as they can get away with)
Anyway... I hope they stay on the air. If they are receiving aid then by staying on the show they won't have to. They are very refreshing to watch and I wish they would have moved out by us! I would have made a great neighbor, lol.

  31. Thank you anonymous! I have looked at this blog a few times and was a little sad by all the negative comments about my family. Thank you for your support. As for moving to Las Vegas, we chose there because it was close to Utah and all our friends and family and it has actually always been one of my family's favorite vacation spots (not nesesarily mine becasue of the hot temps.)
Again, thank you for the support, and keep watching!!

  32. Mariah, What is the HS Cent. that you go to like? I know someone that might be moving to Vegas, and they don't know what school to pick (HS). Why did y'all pick that one? Is it the best for kids coming from smaller towns?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Are you really Mariah?

  34. Mister Sister:
To be honest, when I first started out at Centennial I was horrified! The school I went to in Utah had about 100 people in the entire high school, and my Sophmore class was made up of about 19 students and our class was the biggest in the school, so going to Centennial where they have about 3,000 students.. well, needless to say, I was scared. But in all honesty, I can't actually say that I love it (I really miss the homey comforts of my private school in Utah) but it is a very nice school with lots of people that are super nice and very welcoming. When picking schools, us teenagers got online and figured out what schools we liked and wanted to go to. Our parents kind of left the decision up to us, letting us pick the school that we wanted and then moved into houses in Centennials boundries.
As far as from coming from a small town... I cant really say. I dont know what the other schools are like population wise, but I do know that Centennial is a good school with lots of nice students and helpful teachers.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I've been looking at Vegas like Crazy, and my friend's children go to a small school where they know everyone. Their class size is abt 50. I can't tell which one would be right, neither can she! I am thinking Centennial- b/c let's see, Cimmerian(sp) seems like there were listed a lot of fights there, and one was to racially mixed- not that they are prejudiced, but when you would be outnumbered, it might be scary on top of a huge class. I know you have siblings which make it easier, but did the kids treat you nice? Do the teachers really try hard? I'd love you to email me and tell me your experience to help them - or better yet, write us a post about the changing of schools! We'd LOVE that! You might help so many others. these kids I am talking about are very shy.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I havent been to the other schools so I dont know for sure but I honestly think that its a really good school. I would recommend it to them. The kids at school were very nice to me and all the siblings. Everyone was very welcoming and we all have great friends here. I also LOVE my teachers! They are all so nice and helpful. Overall, I really think that it is a good school. We did a lot of research and thought that Centennial would be best for us. As for the kids being shy, I think that they could potentially have problems with that every where, its just a matter of learning to get over it..... I know because I hd to do that too.. I had this bubble and I wasnt comforable outside of it, so I can definatly sympathize with these kids. But I think that Centennial would be a great school:]

  39. Does anyone here really believe that this is Mariah writing these posts ? If it is, I would like to know more about -
    a) why she does not want a polygamist marriage
    b) how she feels about her family receiving food stamps while taking checks from TLC
    c) her parent's phony bankruptcy papers.

    ReplyDelete
  40. This comment knocks me out - "But as a whole, they are people following their faith and raising their kids far better than so many others in our country."

Whoever wrote this comment obviously travels in circles where families have more children than they can afford, who live on food stamps, and file phony bankruptcy papers to support their lifestyle without any remorse. This anonymous poster has quite a circle of friends, I don't know of any family near me that has done this.

  41. Another question for Mariah - why doesn't her dad get a job ?

And for anyway else, I would love to answer your questions to a point... There is a point where I wont feel comfortable speaking about.... I hope that you can understand this.

  46. Meri seems like the most secure of all the wives. Christine seems insecure, with 6 kids, no job, no skills and stuck in a marriage that she only sees Kody a few times a month. Robyn is happiest cuz she gets the most attention, face it,she is the most attractive, but can be two faced. As for Janelle, she is the most intelligent and I personally know several men in my hometown and other places who would love to take her away from Kody. She has it all and is underrated. Yes she needs to lose weight, but when she does, WATCH OUT, this lady is gorgeous...and intelligent!! Run Janelle, you have your whole life ahead of you and can and will find a man who will love you 24/7, when YOU want and will appreciate you when YOU need it!! I feel the same about Meri, but she seems to be secure with her arrangement--when she comes to her senses there will be a line of gorgeous and rich men waiting for her-I know this for a fact--cmon Janelle and Meri! There is no hope for Robyn or Christine only because they lack ability to care for themselves by having so many kids. Good Luck to all of you==if youre happy, stay with your situation, nobody has right to judge.

  47. Earlier was mentioned the cost factor of living in Vegas. Here in Missouri, Humansville, the cost of living is cheaper, and there is a strong poligamous community there. However, not all have multiple wives. Though poligamy is not legal, there is only a small fine to pay if convicted. We have lots of collages in the area also.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Another comment, my favorite wife is Janelle, and although I presented an alternative place to settle, I foundon my facebook a job at Ecomom which is now based in downtown vegas. They need mothers with finacial experiance, as well as customer service and marketing. Maybe if something like this could work out for her, she'd be happier. I was very impressed with how she and Christine had worked things out in Utah and how close their friendship seemed. Could that be partially why Meri was interested in introducing Robyn to Kody? With her daughter growing up and maybe feeling like an outsider sometimes with the other wives, she may have felt like a fourth wife would be good for her also,

It also explains to me one possible reason for working with TLC, although they were making it before on Kody and Janelle's income, a fourth wife, with her kids and no skills would have upset the balance;unless another income could be brought in.

Kody panicking about possible arrest and the wives being concerned about social services possible involvement (he does not have to be arrested for social workers to get involved)was probably what triggered the move to vegas.

Anyway, Janelle, look up ECOMOM on facebook andcheck out about that job, for your own sake. And God bless you and your family.

  49. Hello Mariah!!! It is so nice to actually hear from one of the "Sister Wives," family. If possible please consider doing an post on this blog. It would be so refreshing for once to hear a teenagers thoughts on polygamy, or for that matter anything.

    **************

correction, Meri was also working! she had a very good job and was even studying Psychology - paying for her studies too. so the family had 3 people who were working and they were coping.

but Meri was first to lose her job because of coming out...........

I wonder if she is still pursuing her studies........

and I do agree that Robyn was like Titanic's iceberg.......

  51. These people are absolutely disgusting!! And Robin is unbearable. She is NOT the most attractive with that hatchet jaw and beakish nose. janelle is the prettiest and if she lost weight would put all the wives to shame. As for Kody... he is such a pansy a-- and comes off so effeminate. Sorry, but I cannot stand this show and do not watch it. I did at first, but it is just boring to me. End the show!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I am australian and love this show. Im facinated by the way the family interacts and although I dont fully understand their way of life I admire these women. My own sisters and I could never make a life in the same street let alone the closeness of these kids and women. Its not up to anyone but the family to judge themselves. If it takes a village to raise a child they have their village and from what I see none of those children go without ample love and care. Can all monogamous relationships say the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The only thing I can say about this is that Robyn's is like a snake. She is acting very nice and needed and affectionate, until she can get the sympathy from everyone and then "snap" like a snake with her little insecure personality. Robyn's ability of motherhood to me is discus-ting after she announce on public TV that she would give up her kids for this man and the religion. Man oh man what kind of mother are you Roby'n is Kody and the wives are more worth it than ur own children. I feel sorry that your kids will actually hear about this in the future. So the kids that you would have with Kody are worth ur effort the other 3 can go live with their dad.

    ReplyDelete
  54. My my whatever next? How can you Robyn, just let your children go? Are they not insecure enough, is it that easy? Shame on you, What's your motive? Or are they just too much of a hassle? Watch out Meri, Janelle and Christine. That awful whining no 4 definitely has ulterior motives..what was Meri thinking when she "introduced" her to Kody and encouraged him to "persue" her - WRONG. If you felt you had to introduce him to no 4 Meri, couldn't you have been more selective done a little more back ground work?? What a false, nasty, unattractive, insecure, irritating sneak she is. And the false tears, wearing a bit thin I would say. I really enjoy Janelle and Christine....at least they are real.

    2. WOW! I haven't seen so much character assassination since the last presidential election!

Mariah~ I have only seen 2 seasons of the show but I have to say that I see more love, compassion and understanding in your home that I have seen in many monogamous homes.

I see children that are happy to be with each other.
They are NOT spending 4 hours a day playing video games.
They are NOT talking %$^&* to their parents.
They are NOT using physical violence on each other.

      They are respectful.
      They are helpful.
      They are loving.

I see parents who take the time to make sure all the children feel equally loved.
I see parents who work hard and set a great example, okay jobs were lost, but obviously they packed away into 401k and other retirement funds for a rainy day.
I see parents who make sure their children are happy and healthy.

I see parents who do not do drugs.
I see parents who do not get drunk.
I see parents who do not abuse or belittle their children.

It warms my heart that the people complaining and posting hate here, came from such loving homes that they can find fault with this family.

My childhood was filled with hunger, fear, and hurt. Parental drug and alcohol abuse. Child abuse and pedophilia.
My husband ran out after trying to burn my 18 month old son's hand in the flame of a stove burner. I refused to lie to welfare so that he could collect the money and not work so he tried to break both my knees.

I wish to God that my Mother had been one of those Sister-Wives.

      Delete
    3. Remember the Sisterwives producers are only showing the audience what they think will sell for high ratings. This show is not reality. It is a scripted drama packaged as reality "show".

We already know one of the wives is on antidepressants (admitted on the show)

We already know all three wives have declared bankruptcy (public record we have seen the paperwork)

And from the bankruptcies we know that whatever was in a retirement/401k could never ever pay for the rental of 4 houses in Las Vegas, let alone help out on a rainy day.

Unless you are in their homes, how do you know the children aren't playing video games for 4 hrs/day?

Unless you are in their homes, how do you know they are not using physical violence against each other, or talking back to their parents?

I love the Twilight series, but I would never wish that my mother was a werewolf or vampire!

I loved the old Dick Van Dyke show, but I never wished my dad was the character Rob Petrie (portrayed by Dick Van Dyke)

One doesn't need to be a polygamous to have love, compassion, or understanding in a marriage. Just ask a 'Lost Boy' or the women who were brave enough to leave the abuses of a polygamous marriage.

I am so sorry you had to live through what sounds to be a horrendous childhood, but just remember many polygamous childhoods were filled with the same horrible things.

  58. I've been watching this show from day one. I am a large woman as well (370 lbs) I identify most with Janelle as I too am the sole breadwinner for my family. Since Robyn has come into the picture I see the ignoring of the other wives. For a while I really thought Janelle and Christine would leave. Janelle, you don' tneed to settle for this. You are a very intelligent and gifted person and like myself probabally are at least a little depressed. Only you know when enough is enough.

  59. We would all love Janelle, gees you could do whatever you want and she would support you as long as you keep Kody happy. 60. I do not think it is Robyn's fault that she is smaller and I think she is pretty and I know she tries really hard to be nice, but of course he is going to like the newer one, gees, it has been like 16 years. All men would like the new and younger one. Janelle your still my favorite.

  63. I think Janelle will lose a lot of weight with her new trainer and will soon be the hottest of the group of wives, and I think it will change the dynamics of the show. That will be interesting to see! - NM

  64. I always wonder why they don't answer questions about their income. Kody supposedly works but we NEVER see him go to work. And of course we only see what the directors of the show want us to see but they need to realize people are out of work and struggling and to put on a show where 4 women live with 1 man and can afford new houses is not reality. Janelle is the smart one she doesn't whine on the show she just smiles, love it. They should have bought a house or built one where they all live together, real polgmy. And do they have health insurance? Or is this another Octomom deal?
