Tweets "Sister Wives" after "Tell All" and "Polygamist Marriage Therapy"

If you are just coming to the blog, we have spoiler pages up for each show below, and that's where all the talk started!

You can stop the flipbook at any time, and you can enlarge it by clicking the link at the bottom right of the book.

Funky Town has collected some  from during and after the show.
Let's continue our discussion of "Tell All"here, and will add the other later.
 Will add some tweets here!!!

  1. I find it strange that after over 20 years as sister wives they still can't definitively say they are friends and are still "working on having a relationship". It's kind of like the Bradys who after 14 years haven't figured out the birthday thing. If you can't say you are friends and like one another after 20 years, then I think you have your answer.

    1. Me too. I think they love and car for each other more than they know. But when you are always jealous of a man you are not going to think straight. I didn't know anything about polygamy before this show. Learning so much right here. To believe that you must have a man to call you through the veil of heaven saddens me. No wonder they hide the facts of their religion. The Browns want to decriminalize a law that was put into effect because of the abuse that falls into it. They may be the shining example, I don't know. However, they are not the norm.

  2. CPA Carol, you said it all. At the end of that comment it would have been appropriate to virtually *drop the mic*

  3. I think they all had things figured out a whole lot more before Robyn joined the family. She was a disruption, to be sure. For Kody, it was a pleasant one. For the wives, not so much.

    1. I agree 100%. I think they only got the show because of the "adding a new wife" drama. I wonder how scared Sobbyn is to have to deal with reality after the cameras stop rolling for good. What really irks me is that from all of the books I have read, when a new wife comes in, things get bad. We haven't seem much of that and it bothers me a lot. It just shows how they aren't like other plyg families. Sobbyn shouldn't be able to say they are normal because she wasn't there for when there weren't cameras!

  4. I tried to post on the thread about Mariah's college, but that sucker is closed--so here it is over here:

I did some research and the best guess anyone has for the Klown's income is $50k - $75k per adult per episode. If you use the $50k figure and leave out season 1 (may have been paid less) then that means that each adult has earned about $2.5 million dollars in 3 years. Heck, let's whittle it down to allow for any management fees they may have and say they have to earn at least $500k per year. That is a very low-ball figure I pulled right out of my Kody. Then you have personal appearances, the green-booger-goo, the very profitable joo-ree line, the book--did I leave anything out? DVD sales? Sister Wives tee shirts?

So, since Mariah's birth certificate actually includes a father on it (nice to know the rest of the kids have "unknown" on their birth certificates--Grody is truly the father of the year) then when she filled out her financial aide paperwork (which I can bet you she did not) they had to show a yearly income of about a million bucks between Meri and Grody. Wanna know what the financial aide package will be? Bupkiss, jack, shinola--pay the whole freaking tuition yourselves.

So as usual, the whole "how will we pay for Mariah to go to college" convo was probably fake crap. Or should I say mock tapioca? ;o)

    4. We talked about this yesterday. Kody has even stated he didn't have is name on some of them for fear of being arrested. That may have changed by now. BUT, Anony 7:04 is assuming he's not on any but Mariah's. We don't know that, nor would we publish if we did.

Pulled it out of his Kody! hahahah May use that later!

    5. Whatever the case may be; remember these are professional opportunists. The whole "how are we going to pay" is purely an invitation for hand outs. Plain and simple. Same with the counselling in Sedona. And a free fat burger. Any time you here "we're here at..." or see a tweet about a resteraunt they are at- you know they are getting it for free.

      So tired of these liars.

    6. Anon 11:52 - I finally understand why I dislike the Browns so much. I just wasn't able to articulate it properly. It is exactly for the reason you posted. Their constant victimization makes me so mad.

I don't care if they take advantage of opportunity, I honestly don't. If I was in their situation, I probably would do the same thing. But I CAN. NOT. STAND when they lie about it.

  5. Some technical feedback: The tweets are scrolling by too fast for me to read each page of them. Some are kind of fuzzy and the print is small for my old eyes. Any chance you can slow down the speed at which each page turns over to the next page? I consider myself a fast reader, but can't read all of them when there are multiple tweets on one slide.

  6. I thought Mister Sister said it was impossible to figure out what they make per episode and we were to quit guessing about it.

I think it is safe to say that if Meri and Kody qualified for the McMansion they probably do not qualify for significant college financial aid. Kody is right that if they take out loans for her it would involve a 30 year commitment.

I imagine Meri was thinking her daughter was going to get merit scholarships.

    1. I think that really, we are all guessing. We don't know for sure, that's for sure. I have heard behind the scenes many many things from those that are close to the situation, and even they don't agree. From they don't make that much, to they do, to there was a BONUS at the end of season 1 that was to help pay for the homes, to each person gets paid- which I do believe is true. I think it's fair to being up since they are yammering about tuition. But, let's just assume they make 35-50 a episode. AND, there's Kody, with a big bunch for himself! Safe to say that they can easily pay for this college. Safe to say, they probably didn't - there was a bonus for naming the college on the show IMO.

    2. I can't believe she pulled the what are we doing for Logan? Seriously if I were janelle I'd be ticked off. Why can't Meri use he budget to help fund it? If they are all family why didn't they discuss what they were doing when the first kid went to school. I think Kody wants to help the kids get the minimum education, he already said she had to get massive financial helps in a past episode.

She was being dramatic when she said the state school wasn't a choice. She wants what she wants. It's her age.

I am sure they don't qualify for much, but Mariah needs to take the loans out if Mariah wants to go. I am actually thinking she got the full ride now. What polygamist family is going to take on Mariah. Not only is there undergrad and med school but malpractice insurance and student loans and the cost of a practice is massive. She will be a financial liability for a long time.

No idea why this segment was out in this episode. It was supposed to be in a past episode.

    3. I really really hate to be a Kody apologist but I agree with him about Westminster. Kody is not getting any younger, and no one is gonna give him a loan for retirement. Meanwhile Mariah is only 18 and has her whole working life ahead of her to pay for school. Instead she sobs, "What I hear you saying is I cant go to school." No, Robin Jr., what he's saying is, if you insist on going to Westm instead of the much more affordable UNLV - or any other school - you'll have to pay for it yourself.

    4. i would love to hear what MARY herself is doing for Logan - her "bonus" kid?? Remember when she chastised Janelle lamenting how much she was going to miss Logan when he left for college. Meri mocked her pain with, "Janelle, we're ALL going to miss him terribly. He's OUR KID, too!" what a cold-hearted beeyatch she truly can be. But she's certainly milked a lot of drama over Mariah leaving her all alone and god forbid Janelle should use the same line back on her!!

      Delete
  7. So, when Meri is saying the adults need to have the college conversation re: tuition, will she plead the fact that if she did have those 7 spirit babies, then the collective tuitions of those 7 should go to Mariah...OR Mariah can do as her parents, pile up the loans & take out credit card debt - lots of bankruptcy mentors to advise her with that.

    What a sense of entitlement!

    1. I was thinking the same thing about Meri claiming its only fair for her to get 6 kids worth of college money since that is what Janelle and Christine will get. cuz that fair right blehhh

      Delete
    2. Well if Meri worked as much as Janelle and Christine did, then maybe it would be fair to ask for the same amount of money. If everything was always the way it was shown in season One, then she didn't contribute as much as they did. She worked part time and Janelle worked full time. Christine took care of all of the kids. Assuming all of that is true, it really wouldn't be fair for her to ask for the same that they got. It isn't anybody's fault either that she couldn't have more kids. She shouldn't punish the whole family emotionally/financially for something that nobody is the cause of.

      Delete
    3. How about Meri gets a JOB! She could take all of her earnings and apply it towards Mariah's tuition!

      Delete
  8. On the other hand, if the adults are making that much per episode and, given that Kody and Meri are legal spouses and they legally have one child together, I wonder how much their household is paying in taxes?

Granted, it still doesn't come close to Janelle and Christine filing as single mothers, with large families, having children who attend state-run universities.

It is totally fair that Mariah has all of the advantages of being an only child without any of the sacrifices of being a child in a polygamous family.

  9. On the bright side, if they are making those numbers then the taxpayers may recoup some of the welfare money in taxes.

  10. 17 CHILDREN to support and Mariah and Meri have the NERVE to insist the girl go to an expensive college! And Meri has the audacity to object to paying it out of her share of the family cash......Meri who will have zero kids left at home while her sisters wives have several each......

Also noticed Meri's mean sly comments about jealousy now that the wives can all see where Kody is hanging out since they're in their new homes. She was trying to make Christine look like the only jealous woman. If Christine is jealous and feels Cody is unfair it's because that's how he plays it. Meri's comments that she has to hold herself back are no doubt because she was an obnoxious Boss Hog in the past. And probably still is off camera.

    1. Mariah should, by all means, go to an "expensive" school if it is in a top rating for her field and she gets in... The issue lies with Meri and her unwillingness to sacrifice her luxuries to ensure the betterment of her child's future. If that is the case, shame on her!

      Delete
    2. The thing with the school she chose is that it's not a known name for pre-med and the fact that the first 2 years is filled with just basic courses that you can get anywhere. It would have made far more sense for her to go to UNLV for 2 years and then transfer to a school that is known for its pre-med program. I think either she had friends attending there or she wanted to go there so she could be in Salt Lake.

    3. Very true, Funky Town! Still, I am glad for Mariah's sake that she will be able to experience college life and will be exposed to a diverse environment. :-)

    4. I'm glad she can go also but I wonder if breaking away will be a problem for her and Meri. As we saw via tweets, Mariah came home right away and Meri just spent time at school visiting Mariah. There were some tweets showing her in the dorm and things. I'm all for having a loving relationship but Mariah has to get used to being away from Meri and vice versa. I hope it works out for her!

      Delete
    5. I was thinking the same thing PlygKoolAid. Meri doesn't want to give anything up to help pay for Mariah's college. She thinks everyone else should just cover it. A couple of things that blow my mind. First is that neither Meri nor Kody have thought about paying for college before this point. Meri was the mother of one should have been stashing money away for her daughter.

Second, I'm not shocked Meri doesn't want to dish the money out of her pocket. She has to pay for all the upgrades she HAD to have for her new house out of pocket. She went over budget and the deal was she had to cover the difference. She obviously was not thinking about sending her only child to school when she had to have that fancy wet bar or french doors. She didn't need a house that big or that expensive. I'm betting had she opted to budget better she would have used the extra money to help Mariah go to college. But no she has expensive taste and is going to get what she wants. I don't get how all along they got the same budget, yet Meri was unable to stash money away for Mariah. I mean I'm sure her grocery bill along with stuff like school supplies, clothing and what have you is much smaller than the other wives. So yes SHAME ON HER!

    6. I'm thinking there is more to Mariah's (and Meri's) desire for Mariah to go back to Utah for college. Wouldn't she have a better chance of meeting a young man from another plyg family in Utah. As Funky Town said, it's not like the school she has chosen is well-known for pre-med, so there has to be other reasons. I think that the other kids have had an easier time fitting in in Nevada, and perhaps it's Utah that Mariah misses and the chance to interact with other young people who share her belief system. I know that Westminster isn't necessarily a school that plygs send their kids, but being in Utah will bring her closer to like-minded young people.

    7. I just didn't see what you all saw as far as Meri being mean about asking abt Logan's tuition and such. She just said they never discussed it before. I am sure they never had the means before. The fact she doesn't want to throw her money in, now that's just plain rude.
Bottom line, she got to go. I don't feel that it's a bad thing she's shooting for the stars. I think it's great! Many folks are immature acting at that age. She could grow into anything she wants to be.

    8. Stash what extra money away? They were on public assistance, filed bankruptcy multiple times, used up the equity in the Lehi house...along with so many people to support...
Oh but of course Kody got a Lexus and a Harley. Priorities don'tcha know.

    9. I think Meri needs to get going on some job applications. I know plenty of moms who work solely to help with their child's tuition. She cannot be working on the jewelry business full time.

    2. Anyone else think Robyn is preggers? She missed one morning of group therapy because she was ill. I think that's how next season will open and Kody will say "didn't anyone get that up at the couples retreat? Also, Janelle was not "pure" when she married Kody, how come she didn't give him her "cookie" in front of all the kids? Didn't it sicken Kody that an other man had did all the private things they do, before him? He got seconds twice, not just once.

    3. If you follow Sobbin's philosophy we can all be re-pureefied daily. Before bed take an iconic piece of your joolery and with tears and drama throw it on the floor. Then, again with tears in your eyes, hand it to your husband/significant other or maybe just whoever is available, and state "here is my pureety, it is reborn and it is yours. My hubby says it is working! I do advice not doing this with your children!

  15. I think it is very irresponsible to have that many children if you can not provide for them and make sure that they all receive an education. My husband and I had two children because we knew that was all that we could handle financially and emotionally. We started saving for their college expenses when they were born. My son started college this year. He wanted to go to MIT for engineering but did not receive scholarships from them. He did receive scholarships that would cover full tuition, dorm, and meals at our state university, which has an excellent engineering program. While MIT would have been wonderful, we went to the state school that we could afford. Also, there is no way that a father can spend quality time with 17 children. He is probably doing well to visit each child once a week. That is very sad to me. We have helped with our children's activities in Sunday school, soccer, gymnastics, scouts, cheer, band, etc. I am sure the Browns leave all of the volunteer work up to other families.

    1. MIT will be perfect for a graduate degree after a free ride for a state university. Save your money and maximize your results. Don't waste it on an undergraduate degree when post BS is goal. Every college or university uses the same textbooks for undergrad studies. You get the same Psych 101at state school, out of state school, community college or Harvard.

      Delete
    2. It's sad because we never see any of the kids participate in any sort of activities, with or without Kody there. Maybe they do and it's not filmed, but they could at least mention that they are involved in sports, dance, gymnastics, etc. I know that Hunter does school sports, but one wonders if they do anything outside of school. I'm not saying that the cameras should be following them to their activities because I feel that would be intrusive, but for the parents to at least mention that they are going to a child's recital or that another child has soccer practice would be nice. Kody is very rarely seen interacting with any of the kids, except when he makes a grand entrance and a bunch of the little girls go running to him like they haven't seen him in weeks.

    3. There've been posters here claiming to see Kody and one or more of the wives at Hunter's wrestling matches.

    4. How positive to learn that Krody is supporting one of his children by being present for an activity. My husband managed to be there for almost everything our children did, even when working away from home. While it was difficult at times, several hour on the road followed by activities that sometimes ran quite late, he knew how important it was for our children that he was there.

Our youngest had plans to attend a major university. Due to unforeseen circumstances she is now planning community college for 2 years. She has been fine with the change and will begin her journey next year. Many are experiencing financial changes, job loss or other unexpected curves, the ability to adapt to life with all it's ups and downs enables a person to succeed.

IMHO, the Browns display of tantrums, immaturity and constant upheaval is what has makes so many viewers angry. I would feel the same if I were watching a monogamous family behave so poorly.

If I had the financial opportunity the Brown's have had these past few years I would hope that I would have gratitude and thought ahead to when these finances will end. Throwing a fit because a house came with a weeks delay or was equal to another's whose needs were greater than my own is hard to swallow! Mariah gets a pass on this as she is in fact a child. Meri is fully to blame, it was her horrible attitude and selfishness that created this unnecessary drama.

    5. When I had 6 in my home, my husband coached, all did some type of sports or activity, I taught; I certainly know it got hectic. Even now I can't go to everyone's games they fall on the same time-frame. However, Kody may have this as an advantage. For example, when Logan was at home, he and Hunter could easily both played varsity at that time. I'd say many overlap the other child close in age. It does depend on if it is a sport, band, something that takes up huge amounts of time. What we always did was just take everyone, not only to support the one playing, but to share time with the others as well.
Somehow, I don't see Kody doing that. I'd say he leaves the other little ones at home.

    6. Mister Sister, thanks for all the hard work you do here, you are amazing! I have learned so much reading this blog. After years of viewing this train wreck it was refreshing to find others who see the absolute dysfunction but cannot turn away!
I agree with your assessment. Yes, we also brought our children to support their siblings whenever possible. I cannot see Krody taking a little one anywhere? Or how about changing a diaper! It seems his responsibility, as observed watching SW, is mainly to impregnate and than add a number more to this sad group. I don't even think he gets the numbers right as mentioned by observant posters!
I always hoped Janelle would run but her pulling away seems to be surprisingly bringing her closer to Krody. He looks at her differently and she seems to be enjoying the attention. I think Christine is an event away from possible collapse. She is looking so worn out and sad. Meri deserves whatever comes her way, I have little sympathy for ler any longer. Sobbin is manipulative, selfish, immature, well it has all been said. I still believe we have only witnessed a portion of how truly horrible she is.

  16. Well I don't care how much they make. If it is a lot good for them if not that is too bad. Either way they are terrible at managing their finances! Robyn with a lien, cars without insurance, forgetting to pay car payments etc. Oh and the biggest waste of money was the need for 2 million dollars worth on 4 separate homes. This is dumb when you have 17 kids and the earnings from this show won't last. Janelle, THIS is the definition of a finite resource it (the show/TLC money) WON'T last. 18. I saw the look in Meri's eyes when Hairball - I mean Kody - dared to suggest she take Mariah's tuition out of HER part of the budget...~snark~...that ain't gonna happen! Mariah certainly seems to share her mom's sense of entitlement; just because she didn't have 12 siblings, she should still be able to claim the same chunk of educational money as each of the other families will have with all their various kids. No option? What? I went to community college for my nursing degree because I couldn't afford a 4-year program as a single mom. Funny thing is, when you graduate and get that MD behind your name, if you do, they call you Dr. no matter what school you went to. And for pre-med, the kids at UNLV get at least as good an education as those at private colleges do -- it just doesn't cost as much.

I just cannot get over what these people spend.

Oh and one more snarky comment about people who live in rented homes not having a "real" place of their own and I'm gonna reach through the TV and punch out a certain teenager....I didn't live in a place I was buying until I turned 40; and for what it's worth, it's a manufactured home, not even on a foundation. It certainly isn't a custom-built home with a wet bar!!! We live within our means and we don't whine about it, either. It's really gonna suck when the show is over and the houses go up for foreclosure because funds dry up......

Since these women are probably the same ones spending hundreds of dollars on the foolish joolery, perhaps a better approach would have been to politely decline when it happens.

I can't figure out if she's trying to convince us that Kody is irresistible or she's just plain jealous of other women wanting to join in the rotation....either way it's weird.

If the Browns wanted value for money, they should have chosen by academic ranking, not by how the campus looked. Added to that, University of Utah is in Pac 12 and is now expected to be on an academic level with Stanford. It also ranks as one of the best research universities in the field of medicine.

Yes, I have said it before if Mariah was serious about becoming a Doctor she should go to the U.
The University of Utah is part of the University Hospital . Its a teaching Hosptial. It has world renown cardiologists and Nobel prize winner Dr. Mario Capecchi (lol Dr, Mario-- just realized that). I really dont think this girl understands the value of a dollar. she is just as entitled as Meri. These people are really ridiculous. I think its stupid that shes not going to the U, especially with her decided major and the family finances.

  23. I have to say thanks to this blog, for being here! I'm still living in an abusive situation (still trying to be able to leave) (that's why I can relate to some of the folks in similar circumstances, here on the blog) so, the "bastard" last nite shuts off the TV that I watch, (a typical tactic of his to be cruel to me), he has control of the cable, so I couldn't see any shows. (they literally run me out of the house). Luckily I was able to feel like I was kind of watching it, thanks to y'all on this blog :)

    6. Dear In da living room,
I have been in an abusive situation, too, although it was many years ago. My ex husband deserved an Oscar for the performances he put on for everyone else. Everyone thought he was a terrific guy, including my family. I really started to believe his insults that I was crazy.

Each morning, I awakened to the feeling of a huge, crushing weight on my chest b/c of the anxiety of wondering what I could expect that day. I walked a mine field, hoping and praying that I did not trip the wire that would lead to an explosion.

My heart is filled with compassion for you b/c I sincerely empathize. When you mentioned that your husband has control of the cable, I felt like I was hurtled back in time to the late 70s. My ex ripped the phone out of the wall. He wanted to isolate me from everyone. When the phone company came to fix it the second time, the tech likely did not buy my story about accidentally tripping on the line. He said that since it had happened twice, he thought that I should get the new clip feature that simply snaps into the wall. I did. (Cell phones were decades away!) When my ex would go on the road in his sales job, he'd sometimes take the cord w/ him so that I couldn't call my friends or family. When I confided this to a trusted friend, she said I needed to get my own cord to use when he was gone, remove it before he returned, and keep it well-hidden. It was such a sensible, obvious solution but I was so emotionally beaten down that it hadn't even crossed my mind. Well, I took her suggestion. It worked great....until he returned home unexpectedly one day. I finally escaped, many months later.

Start putting a plan together very carefully. There is a good life out there, I promise you. I am sending you so many strong thoughts and supportive wishes.

  24. Well, I see both sides of the college situation. I believe every parent should help if they are able to. But, I also like things to be equal. If a parent can only afford to send a few kids to college, they shouldn't because it would create favoritism among the kids. However, if a parent isn't able to, then they shouldn't go into debt for it if they don't want to. I had to wait til I was 25 to go to college because my parents made too much money and I wouldn't get much in financial aid. So I waited until only my income would count, which is age 25 in the US.

Anyways, a possible thing to think about for others, cost of living in Las Vegas might be high and with the McMansions, it is probably a lot. In addition to that, how much debt they have in general. Debt before the show started I mean. Lastly, how much money do they have to pay to their church? If it is a set rate then it shouldn't be an issue, but if it is a percent; then that probably has gone up.

Either the conversation was forced, natural or Kody had promised he would pay for it and then went back on his word. Mariah seemed upset to I am leaning towards the last one.

Nice work on the tweet Funky Town!!

  25. Did anyone else think that Kody gave Robyn his Neanderthal death stare at one point in the Tamryn Hall interview, when Robyn mentioned their religion in some explanation. Also, I think that they're filming him more on his left side, where his male-pattern baldness is less prominent.

I don't know why the Mariah college tuition drama was added to the retreat episode, except that the Browns displayed as much self-awareness in the retreat as they did intelligence in the panel discussion (i.e., none).

Despite his concern for his need to fund his own retirement (?), we didn't see Kody manipulate Mariah's school choice like he did Logan's. When Logan was looking at schools, Kody and spawns all donned UNLV sweatshirts, t-shirts, and Kody made some emotional appeal regarding being with the family.

The cost of the Sedona trip would have been more than a year of Mariah's tuition - if the Browns expect the viewers to believe that they actually saw the need and paid for the trip: at least 6 hotel rooms for 3 nights at a resort; 2 therapists for 3 days, plus travel; room rental fees, private guided tours, catering, etc.. Mariah should have been out in the old van, staring into Robyn's and Kody's honeymoon suite, pouting, "It's not fair," and cursing the financial aid advisors.

  31. Great job on the tweets, Funky Town !!! Thank you !!

Sigh......another season of SW down the proverbial drain. And thank God !!
The BS was flying so deep it was hard to keep watching. Really hard....!!!
They should include shovels with each joolery shipment.

    What's left to say...!!??
Ed coined it perfectly in his tweet when he said that "TLC needs a therapist." No joke!!!
These last two finale episodes were excruciating to wade through.

The therapy sham was ridiculous. Creative editing aside, these Brown adults are in serious need of some real life experiences!!
They come off as hayseeds who just found out the earth is round. And that is just how TLC wants to portray them. Meanwhile they have been shrewd enough to expertly play the welfare game, canny enough to file for bankruptcies, informed enough to file against the State of Utah.
These people are seasoned grifters, and after 4 seasons of their lucrative pretend-show, they are now seasoned actors.
Each season has ended with a hook...a tantalizingly *have to see* premise for the next season.
This year's finale floated not one hook, but two !!

The promise of a Gala Commitment Ceremony, replete with gowns and bling and blissful recommitting.
Oh the joy, the wonder of seeing the Browns all decked out in TLC produced splendor !!!
Who could miss such a promised spectacle?/!!
What casino lounge will host such an event?
My guess is it will be right adjacent to the Guilt Giftshop !!

    And......drum roll.......
Sobbin was......nauseous !! Kodyboy did NOT say just that Sobbin wasn't feeling well.
No, No...He said she was *nauseou*s !!! Hercule Poirot couldn't have missed this cagey implication. !! But.....the timing is all wrong for that to be true *now.*
However, the stage is set for *next* season.
(my real thoughts on that are that Sobbin has admitted she has trouble "eating"....and perhaps the hippie grub at the Sedona spa was not to her stomach's liking)
Farewell Kody and Harem....till next season !!

  32. (Figured out the problem, I think....post was too long. So broke it up.)

So what did we learn about the Browns this season ?
!- They damn well did get their prized McMansions amidst all the contrived BS.
    **BS that really never was.**
Ah, But we must remember (and believe) that Magic Mona saved the day. All BS!
Meri had to wait *a whole week,* setting the stage for a tear jerker starring herself and her daughter as devastated victims of unfair fate. Even more BS !!

2- Kody has resorted to a new hairdo that requires some sort of hair thickener which only serves to look as if he has completely abdicated washing his balding strings of hair.
And...Kody continues to be the same mentally underdeveloped, ignorant, arrogant ass he has been since day one of the show.

3- After 2 years of fictional uterus innuendoes, the Sobbin/Meri/Kody baby caper is a no go......all finally finalized at a picnic on a rock. Hallelujah!!

4- All team-Janelle fans really have to come to grips with the fact that Janelle is a happy, happy girl.
She loves her Renaissance stud, and will tell that to the entire Tweet world...and that she is going *nowhere*. "She has everything she could want." Her words !!
She thinks Kodyboy is *Awesome.* Janelle has come roaring out of her 3 year stupor to say just that.
(I am not surprised at all.)

5- Christine has sealed her fate. What else can be said?
She is a middle aged woman with 6 children who plays at maturity, but never seems to get to the finish line. Kody disrespects her, barely tolerates her. The other wives patronize her.
    She is just *there.*
She may want to reach out for the olive branch from her Aunt Kristyn. Just sayin....

6- Meri is Meri. A sad, unfulfilled woman whose only claim to fame is that she is legal. And has her wetbar.
But.....at least her hair color and style is better.

7- Sobbin.......Sobbin has been showcased this season BIG TIME !!
And we all thought that her birth scene with Kodyboy stroking her thighs was to be her biggest scene of all time. But oh no, not at all. The producers had BIG plans for Sobbin this season too.
She was the QVC Joan Rivers of SW with her joolery.
AND then....she was the Purrity Princess and the Purrity Police for the whole family, including the children as they sat in rapt attendance. No question, Sobbin had top billing this season.
She is the official Voice of SW now.

    3. WOW Amused, you know how to hit the proverbial nail on the head.

Janelle knows that Kody needs her to keep this entire showboat cruising along. She can pull away emotionally from the other gals (Christine included--during the therapy sculpture Christine did not easily and surely gravitate toward Janelle, even though in Lehi they may have been close due to circumstance) and just hold onto Kody by managing the family finances. He needs her and it seems like this past season he is realizing this in light of his decent behavior toward her and their sometimes sparring banter.
She looks at Robin as if she thinks Robin is "Simple Jack" from "Tropic Thunder"; like "Robin got a gooood brain". I think Janelle's psyched that Kody has a new baby maker, like a little boy with a little toy, who she is amused by.

  33. I didn't like Kody's attitude about Mariah's education. He acted like there was nothing about the situation that was really HIS issue.

I have no idea what Mariah's aptitude is as far as science but there is certainly no shame and a lot of reward in giving up the MD dream and becoming an RN: it pays well, she can choose where to live, it might fit in better with her plans to have a lot of children (or be a sister wife). This is not sexist, more and more men are becoming RNs because that degree is affordable and more manageable.

      A N.P. is a nurse practitioner, and a P.A. is a physician's assistant.

A cool thing about these professions is you can also spend some of your career outside the country making a big difference in the poorest parts of the world.

  35. In this day and age, it does to a degree matter where you go, even those first 2 years. Times have changed from even when I went. It depends on what you want. For example, if you are planning on going to your own home town to teach, even Doctor, maybe not. But in today’s' competitive world, it can really matter. I went through to an MS in a good school and came right home to work. Probably wouldn't of mattered. Put 2 through college, have 2 getting ready to go.

I found this quote interesting, in light of Kody leaving the finances to Janelle and the other wives, by in large.

From this website about the AUB... http://www.mormonfundamentalism.com/ChartLinks/AUB.htm

"On occasion, Owen Allred provided his followers with detailed instructions regarding their polygamous marriage relationships: “The minute a man turns over the finances to his wife and lets her handle the checking account, lets her keep track of the bookkeeping, he is lamed... No woman should ever handle the finances in a celestial family. This must be solely the responsibility of the man, the head of the family... Never discuss private problems between him and a wife with another wife... Don’t accuse a wife of not loving you, and a wife must never tell her husband that he doesn’t love her... A man cannot allow privileges to one wife that he does not allow to the other wives.."

  39. The three original wives are feeling the effects of trying to deal with Robyn the narcissist. Women like her have an uncanny knack for putting others in a double bind, no win situation. If the other wives object to her behavior or opinion and go to Kody, or even directly to Robyn, with a complaint, I'm sure she twists it and makes herself a victim of their persecution. Any difference of opinion = persecution to a narcissist. The other wives have a choice of tolerating her behavior (keeping sweet), or being punished and alienated from Kody for offending his goddess. Lose themselves or lose Kody.

    - Robyn does talk way more than she should however I appreciated her honesty that they are all lazy in their relationships and could improve.

    - Christine really does live in rose colored glasses when she asked why can't Kody be in the middle of all of them?

    - Janelle and Kody sure are getting frisky and evidently are trying to show off to the cameras - the whole she needs a King thing? Really? Common. Than I took a closer look and noticed he hadn't. He gave Christines hers third and Robyns last. The producers just edited it that way because Christine got so upset with hers. Trying to save the best drama for last. So stupid. When he starts with Meri none of the wives are wearing any jewelry. When he gets to Robyn, out of order, Christine already has her piece on. He wants his retirement as he gets older, but he had Janelle cash in her 401 for their move to Vegas. All I can say abort Body he's a hellvaman. Also tells me Janelle was his mark.

I am surprised we weren't tortured with scenes of Krody trying to negotiate some sort of an arrangement with a local "hippie" to try and incorporate crytals into their iconic joooolery.

The more I get to know her, the more I am amazed at her strength and the good head she has on her shoulders. Remarkable young girl. Don't want to get off subject here, just wanted to throw that in.

  55. If I hear them refer to polygamy as their "lifestyle" choice one more time...well...it won't be pretty.

The fact that I am monogamous is not a "lifestyle" choice. It is a religious mandate. My Christian faith tells me that marriage is between one woman and one man. The Ten Commandments also say I should not commit adultery.

The fact that they are polygamists is not a "lifestyle" choice, either. It's their religious mandate. We all know about the Celestial kingdom, priesthood holder, pulling the wives through the veil, etc.

If a person had no faith, religion, higher power, etc., it would be a "lifestyle" choice as they would have no God to answer to. These people tout their "religion" ALL the time but do not find it necessary to EXPLAIN it to the masses! Why? Because most of their viewing audience would find them INSANE!

    All of this is IMHO.

Also, I think their fake marriage ceremonies should be referred to as "I promise to be your mistress until death do us part" ceremonies.

  56. It`s time for Meri to get a job with a steady paycheque. She lives alone with no responsibilities. It might help her to get away from the cuddle sac every day. It is sad she can`t figure that out when she has stated Mariah wanted to be a doctor from a young age. Kody is concerned about his retirement fund and he is only 45. This people amaze me with their stupidity and laziness.

  57. FYI both episodes are now up at Amazon.

  58. Several things.
First, the flip books are not showing up on my iPad either (in reference to a post above, and I've downloaded the newest iOS).
Second, finally was able to watch my 5 wives and I like Brady way more than kody. I also appreciated the way he spoke with Rosemary about her weight. I do not have sisterwives, but my sister in laws are all smaller than I am, and i get that feeling of always being the chubster in a room of skinny minnies.
Lastly, I don't believe that it is entirely the responsibility of the parents to pay for college. If they can help should they help? Sure, but it is also the responsibility of the he child to figure out a way to pay for it. If they are paying for all of Logan's college then I think they should (in order to be fair) give the same amount toward Mariah. But the rest of it should be on her. Whether through work study, loans, other scholarships etc.
Never mind that wasn't last, this is. I am so tired of people saying well she was an honor student etc etc. womp womp. There are so many honor students that don't get too many scholarships, etc. because there are a lot of honor students out there! Some schools consider an honor student the top 10%. Others have a gpa cut off. So whose to say what it was at her school. Maybe it was top ten and her gpa was only a 3.5, that does not deserve a scholarship when you've got ap students from other schools with ap credits and 4.25 gpas on top of extra curricular.

    1. Maybe Mariah should have worked on jogging sooner. Many athletes get full-ride scholarships. (Which - IMO - is a travesty when future doctors and teachers have to go into mega-debt in order to qualify for professions that actually make a difference in people's lives . . . but I digress.)

  59. Kody is so offensive with his stereotypical crap. He pre judged a beautiful place and a beautiful opportunity to improve his marriages. I live in Arizona and was so offended by the hippie thing. Sedona is spiritual place and he and robyn were closed minded to a therapist that could have improved their marriages and therefore the kids. Janelle seemed the only one to have an open mind was Janelle. Robyns reaction to Christines enthusiasum with the bricks was terrible. Is she invested in kody and christine marriage failure? Robyn dosnt trust? The Brown family went out on a limb with trust to take her scanky ass into the family

    1. Robyn is just plain dumb, immature and naive-put in any order you want. To say she didn't yet trust the therapist because she wasn't a polygamist-is well MORONIC... I go to therapy, as do MILLIONS of PEOPLE..

I go to a male therapist, yet I am a female. You have alcoholics, drug addicts going to therapists who were NEVER addicts--but.. they can help. MARRIAGE COUNSELORS.. who have NEVER cheated on their SPOUSES,,, but can offer counselling to those who did.. What are therapists who work with sexual diviants? According to Robyn, these therapists would have to be or had to be, at one point, a diviant too.. You do not have to 'walk the same road' as a person.. in order to help them.....no, you need training.. and in another view... you can have those who have walked your bumpy road... and you shouldn't ask them where the restrooms are, never mind therapy!

    2. I am trying to learn that they were raised to FEAR everyone that wasn't a polygamist. I noticed more than once last night when I was watching. As much as I forget this and get frustrated, I keep telling myself this. Willy said it also. Sort of a "don't talk to strangers" on a worldwide level, so to speak. I think that is why some of their fears about people come off as wild or strange to all of us, just thought I'd share that I am trying to establish in my brain what fear they really must have. From the Mormon polygamist standpoint but also a constant innate fear of being a criminal.

    1. Great idea. It should say something like:

      Meri - 22 years
      Janelle - 20 years
      Christine - 18 years
      Robyn - 3 years
      = Kody - 65 years

      That's QUADRUPLE dipping!

    2. Yes, in reality Kody only has 22 years of marriage experience. He was not married to anyone (that we know about) 23 years ago. Therefore, he really does have onloy 22 years experience. that is quite enough to become a bit of an expert on your own marriage(s) anyways.

    3. I think of it this way. Kody may have 22+ years experience, but the first 3 would only have about 7, and Robyn 1.

  63. Did Pap Joe Darger overstep his bounds by tweeting that "My 5 Wives" got a series??

    From "My 5 Wives"
Many folks have asked if there will be a series following the TLC Special My Five Wives. While we think that would be great, that has not been confirmed.

    Article about Joe tweeting:

Me thinks he must of gotten a call from Brady and then blabbed, or tweeted. That's where I saw it. TLC must not be happy.

  64. I wonder if Meri or any of the others (including Koduoche) have thought about going back to school. They have a good 20+ years of work life left so some good career training would really help this group.

    1. Going to school would require both work and a willingness to listen to other people's opinions. Those are two things the Klown family does not do. It's their way or no way. They are the norm and it is everyone else that is close-minded and judgmental.

Can you imagine Kodouche sitting in a classroom where the professor is in charge and runs things? What? Kody isn't king? Not going to happen. He knows all.

Oh what fun would it be to see the 'douche in a women's history class with a female professor!

  65. Polygamy polygamy polygamy. They want you to think that they are the norm. Some how I don't believe it, even for the AUB. They want decriminalization. But they are breaking the law now and have been, and do not get arrested. They don't seem to care they have been doing it for years.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. As you can see from Owen Allred's obituary in 2005, the AUB has been wanting to portray themselves as "normal" and as "good" plygs for a long time. By trying to separate themselves from the "bad" plygs and cozying up to law enforcement authorities in their local areas they seek to legitimize themselves.
      http://www.deseretnews.com/article/600112468/Polygamist-Owen-Allred-dies.html?pg=all

If this was 4 separate baby-mommas with a baby daddy who went house to house and banged the mommas once a week would they be idealized and getting their own lucrative TV show? I think not. Oh, but you say - what makes them different is the women all know about each other and put up with it And that makes it better?

      Delete
    2. Yes they have. Hence all the word choices. They are playing many folks with the lack of understanding, wanting to become more accepted and get the job done of decriminalization. Christine Marie wrote an excellent piece on her post about just that, with facts and figures to back up her theories. http://sisterwivesblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/sister-wives-christine-marie-and-her.html

    3. Keep in mind that Owen was Kristyn Deckers father. Not so happy household in her eyes.

  66. Even though the Browns have tried to downplay it since the beginning of the series, they are polygamists because of their RELIGION. This is NOT a lifestyle choice for the AUB sect to which they belong. It is considered mandatory by the AUB which is an offshoot of Mormonism. They believe polygamy is the only choice.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Kody tell the truth. He should look right into the camera and say, "We believe that if you do not lead a life of polygamy then you are going to hell. My family is going on to a celestial afterlife where I will rule a planet and all of you are going to hell."

    2. The Williams family, by disavowing the AUB up front and claiming Buddhist beliefs now, will make it easier for TLC to showcase them. The hypocrisy won't be so glaring.

  69. I feel very sorry for Christine. Kody does not love her the way she needs to be loved I don't judge Christine for her beliefs, but she really did choose the wrong man. She wants and needs a strong priesthood holder who is able to treat his wives with equal outward affection. Kody has proven over and over that 1) he is not that guy; and 2) he has no interest in becoming that guy. Christine's religious beliefs have her trapped with a man ill-equipped for the task. I feel very badly for her, and also felt that she was a bit beat-up on last week, including here on this blog. I might get slammed for saying so, but that's what I feel.

    2. Totally agree with you about Christine. She was beat up a bit last week. Did she act the most mature way? No. But I don't think she was fake about it. And I have always felt bad for her since Robyn came into the picture. Clearly, she doesn't feel close to Kody as demonstrated by the "sculpting" activity. The whole thing about the necklace was awkward and I honestly thing she felt bad for not liking it- like there was something wrong with her and Kody was trying to come across as supportive, but it felt a little bit biting in his response to her with that. In the book, Kody calls her the one that literally saved their family and Janelle points that Christine kept everything together with the kids and has worked extremely hard for the family. The kids seemed drawn to her (Logan, Hunter, etc). I really hate to see her being so under appreciated these days by her husband!

    1. I saw that.
Note to self: When those scary polygamists give me a compliment or kind word, reverse it!LOL

Keep in mind they filmed that a good 4-5 months ago. Notice how much larger Janelle is than now. Robyn may be early pregnant by now, but certainly not from back then. If they don't hurry production on this show, she could have one and the child be in kindergarten before we see them in an episode.

    2. OMG yes! Robyn is getting unbearable as Kody's Favorite Kookie. I yelled at the TV when Robyn held hands in between Meri and Kody during the "statue" therapy session, and then said oh-so-sweetly "Is this better?" ARRRRGH! I can't stand her fake niceness. But at least she was honest this time: she wants the family sweet-spot in between Mommy (first wife) and Daddy, like both a wedge and a bridge. She wants that place of importance and will push out any other wife to call "shotgun" next to Kody. This doesn't seem to bother Janelle, but it hurts Christine badly. Robyn is passive-aggressive and makes a dig at Christine every time she can.

      Delete
  71. Kody said NO to Meri on fertility treatments for a baby. Kody said NO to forking out money for an expensive school for Mariah. His decisions make common sense ,however, I see Robin behind this, too. She is in the process of shoving Meri out. Meri recruited simpering Robin to displace Christine who was Kody's favorite at the time. Now Robin is the snapping, barking lapdog who will keep everyone away from her master. See what you've done, Meri?
