In 2011, the Sister Wives Blog started out as a place to talk about the TLC reality show "Sister Wives", Kody Brown and his wives Christine, Robyn, Meri and Janelle. Today we not only discuss the show, we discuss Polygamy in our society, and the public perceptions of the Mormon Religion. We discuss "Polygamy USA" and will be covering "My 5 Wives." This blog is geared towards the adult reader, so please, no one under the age of 18 years. Thank you!

This is too hokey. Not real at all. Makes RHONJ therapy seems real
ReplyDeleteOMG Mister Sister.. that picture. hahahahahha.
ReplyDeleteKody is just so very understanding and it is all the Sister Wives fault this isn't working..
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't have ate dinner right before this.. i think I might hurl if i have to keep hearing this crap
Janelle and Christine come very close to Kody and say that's where they want to be. Meri says they all want to be "open and honest and kind to everybody".
ReplyDeleteRobyn says they drag Kody into the center of their relationships sometimes. Nancy says that's bad.
Kody says not truly a family unless upon his death they stay a family. If I'm not in the picture, would this picture stay? He wants the wives to all strengthen their relationship.
Meri is in a different place than everyone else she says. Robyn feels there are times they are completely in synch and those are "magical times".
Funkytown, I couldn't get in on the other thread. Hope it's ok to post this here. What you said about med school, you are exactly right!! My son is premed at a state university. He is straight a's all the way. Has a job too. He got many scholarships but we still have some to cover. It IS possible. You were right.
DeleteThey want to be tight and close, and there are some times swhen everything is magical and it all works well, but other times it doesn't.
ReplyDeleteKody should have just been his wives therapist.. then maybe Sobbin would have felt .. safe.
ReplyDeleteJoni I agree. I think it would be more real if these women would be real. I don't think they're saying what they mean at all. No one stood up and said Robyn you cry too much, Meri you are too bossy, Christine you need to not be so wimpy and Janelle you need to be more involved. Now if they said that, I'd say it would be real.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shock! The wives don't all love each other. We all could have told you that months/years ago!
ReplyDeleteOf course their relationships revolve around Kody. Duh. If he's out of the picture they'll all fly away like kites in a hurricane.
ReplyDeleteI did like at first where they positioning themselves. Robin right next to Kody with Meri next to Herndon Christine and janielle way to the side. That to me was truthful.
ReplyDeleteThey are coming off so dysfunctional and miserable. Kind of squashes that happy facade they were floating last week.
ReplyDeleteThey're really afraid of the truth, aren't they. Except Janelle, maybe.
ReplyDeleteWould have been interesting to have the unlv panel right after the body sculpting exercise. (Sorry, that maybe TOO mean)
Truth and honesty are not mean. I have participated in the body sculpting exercise and it is a very powerful way of accessing emotions behind a group's dynamics. Feelings come to the fore in a very strong and immediate way. It was obvious to me that the reason the wives and Kody didn't feel comfortable with the exercise is that they are uncomfortable with their true feelings -- they have buried their uncomfortable feelings deeply to keep up their façade, whether with each other or the TV show. Both probably.
DeleteThat is what is driving me crazy with this show -- there is a lack of honesty in every show, every action, every premise. Children growing up in households where emotion is pushed down have a hard time knowing the truth in their own hearts. I have been noticing how the women (and men) who leave polygamist groups always mention how they could not reconcile their emotions with their situation. That is the honesty the "sister wives" lack -- they seem very one-dimensional, even robotic.
Throughout the entire therapy show, I was actually frightened by the way Kody was trying to do damage control -- always controlling the women, placing them where they "should be" ignoring their feelings, saying it wasn't right, where they were placing him -- there is no right or wrong in the sculpting exercise, it is all about feelings. It is his role in the family, to tell them how to feel and they submit. I found the whole exercise profoundly illustrated their family relationship.
Anon 7:00, your response just blew me away. I saw and felt this too. The episode also helped me to understand and have compassion for Meri, since according to the questionnaire she is the one who most needs to have her voice heard. I can't imagine that " bossy" or "in-charge" kind of gals do well dealing with the polygamy situation. I think that if she ever articulated her true feelings it would be very interesting. I think that maybe she instigated bringing Robin into the situation to put an end to Christine's fun--that it was painful to watch the third wife hitting the jackpot. And frenemy Janelle ended up being closer to Janelle. I bet she partly regrets the 4th wife addition, though Robin kisser her ask enough to make it bearable.
DeleteKody was so intimidated by the counselor that he attempted on numerous occasions to label this college-accredited therapist a "crazy lady".....they're feminists...crazy lady. He was so obviously energetically aggressive with or without the cuts. It was downright pathetic. The gals seemed like kids and he the patriarch who was there to tell them like it is. That is how the dynamic works; otherwise, NO WAY Kody would be able to deal with the reality of it. What an uncompromising boss man. Gals have opinions and ideas of your own and own your own feelings--don't look to Kody to tell you how to FEEL.
Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Kody's afraid of Virginia Woolf. He just can't compete on that level and it scares him and makes him ANGRY.
(Janelle seems quite comfortable w/ Virginia Woolf these days, n'est pas? I loved her comment asserting how she's comfortable being more independent. You go girl!)
Anytime things get too real, too honest, and too difficult to confront...Robyn says "it's not safe"...Shut up Robyn...that's how therapy works!
ReplyDeleteThe family mission statement: Order out of chaos. Boom. Done.
ReplyDeleteLOVE!
Delete@MommaByrnes, re: Meri's twitter--she's at least online and make some effort. Total crickets over at Christine's. Last tweet was 2 hours ago about Neverland(storyline from the tv show Once Upon a Time) and some band.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen therapy like this before. Janelle looks so much thinner.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing. Janelle is changing before our very eyes. This is one of the most exciting parts of this story. she seems to be gaining confidence.
DeleteKody says he shoudln't be the common denominator between the wives. HUH ???
ReplyDeleteWhy else are they all there?? Sharing him?
I think this therapist probably needed a handful of Advils once the Browns left town.
And what's with Sobbin in what looks like a riding jacket?
How could they get to heaven without him? He's the King. I try to like them, but Kody has such an ego. They stroke it every time something comes out of his mouth. Golly, he sounds like a high School surfer dude. I hope he doesn't become one of those 60 year old men marrying 20 year olds.
DeleteWith his 65 years of marriage, he actually IS a 70 year old man marrying younger women. As much as I would like for Robyn/Sobbin to get knocked out of her position as the obvious favorite wife, I don't want any of them to suffer additional pain.
DeleteI thought Kody's statement about how they are not a family unless they stay together until after his death was a pitiful attempt to control even the uncontrollable -- he wants the wives and their babies to be his on his planet in the afterlife and doesn't want to share with another man. No matter if he died tomorrow and the wives were miserable, and broke, and hated each other. And had empty nests.
There's an interesting theological question: if Kody (or any man) claims his children for his kingdom in the afterlife and those children are choosing NOT to live plural marriage, he loses them, doesn't he? I find that an incredible satisfying outcome to this whole situation. Kody chose to go public to spread the word of his faith and plural marriage (maybe get some new wives) through this show, and because of the exposure, the move, the attention, every single one of those kids is going to be better educated on the true nature and problems of polygamy.
Blah, blah, blah, blah! Therapy only works when each party is on board and wants to have a successful relationship. These women all secretly wish the other(s) would leave or otherwise exit the "situation"!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it interesting that they just had the panel discussion where the Brown's said they were all sweetness and light and love, but now we learn they have been in therapy for years and are not happy?
ReplyDeleteLast day in Sedona. They have to write words on blocks that they really want in their mission statement. One word per block.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best therapy Christine has ever been to in her life! Words: Faith, love, forgiveness, safety, family, spiritual, progress, strength, friendship, respect...etc. They are trying to balance all the blocks with Family in the middle.
Meri says their family works together because they all have the same end goal, they just get to it differently.
Janelle is changing the blocks and says she's surprised she's really having an opinion about this and speaking out.
They all seem pretty happy about this.
Kody thinks Sedona was good, it challenged them, but parts were awkward. He feels it will help them make progress.
Robyn is hesitant because Nancy is monogamous and doesn't have polygamist experience.
They took a cute feet picture. They close by all walking up the red rocks. Discussing recommitment ceremony on the couch.
I think the reason that Robin didn't show for therapy that one day was because she was showing the counselor in a passive aggressive way that the counselor and the therapy made her "nauseous". Robin seems to be a really good passive-aggressive communicator. (whether or not she was actually pregnant at that point)
DeleteOh Robyn is a little hesitant because the therapist is a mongamist...what a freaking hypocrite. Talk about painting with a broadbrush...
ReplyDeleteNo kidding!! The biggest hypocrite of the bunch!! Can't stand her all !!!
DeleteSure have done that bunches tonight. Can you count that up for us Mister Sister?
DeleteHonestly Robin, just because you are secure in your relationship with Kodi doesn't mean you shouldn't at least try to participate in therapy for the other sister wives. "Robin is nauseous this morning" "I don't trust her" etc. it was obvious you didn't think you needed therapy and was not committed to giving it much effort. Your constant primping, constant camera hogging, constantly riding in the front seat like you deserve it is disgusting to watch. I can't wait for a 5th wife who will be younger and more attractive than you and might actually try to build a relationship with all of the women and then where will you be?
DeleteRobin just kept on it and on it (or the edits did) about the gawd danged MONOGAMISTS. "I used to be a monogamist!"
DeleteRobin, monogamy is the basic default position. You are the "exception". That's why you are so "exceptional" and "unique". You come across like a prejudiced shrew.
I just asked my husband if we needed to do a recomittment ceremony in order to validate our relationship.... I think the silence spoke..
ReplyDeleteROFLMAO!!!
DeleteOh Janelle is sitting next to Kody with Robyn on the other side, instead of Meri. Kody and Janelle must be breaking in that new bed quite often.
ReplyDelete...and I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. That is an imagery I didn't need. (*I know imagery wasn't the right word there. Too much Browns in my brain!)
DeleteI think this was a while ago. Janelle doesn't appear to have lost much weight.
ReplyDeleteTamron Hall wants to know why getting out of rentals was so important. Janelle feels it's different when you own the home. It's a sense of permanence and community. Brought up the Christmas deadline for homes and how Meri didn't get in on time. Seeing old clips of Mona telling them who got their homes. *sob, sob* Meri is saying how Mariah doesn't want anything for Christmas but the home. Meri is discussing that with Tamron Hall.
So those of us who rent aren't a part of a community or have any permanence?
ReplyDeleteCry me a river.. you had homes. NICE HOMES. if you had truly experienced homelessness.. living in a motel.. with your children you would have felt differently about RENTAL homes.
Wow, must be a record. Took only a couple of minutes before I felt like throwing up a little in my mouth. Kody doesn't want anyone blaming him for the family's problems. Mariah doesn't care if the rest of her siblings starve so she can have her wetbar, I mean private school, out of state education, and Christine has a meltdown because her pendant has etching on it. Oh my!
ReplyDeleteSo Mariah doesn't care about her sibling's collective needs when weighed against her personal wants. I can't imagine how that will work out for her as a future sister wife.... Oh, never mind.
DeleteMeri also seemed oblivious to the fact that it would be a struggle to send Mariah to a more expensive college than her siblings. I didn't hear her offer to get another job to help pay for it. At least Mariah had the sense to offer to get a 2nd job, but Meri was in complete denial and hoping for money to somehow fall from heaven.
DeleteDid you see Meri's face when Kodi told her she could take it out of her budget money and not expect the family budget to cover it. I would love to have been a fly on the wall for the real conversation off camera.
DeleteMeri is sooo selfish! She knew that her spoiled brat daughter was going too an elite private college, so why didn't she hold off on the wet bar, get a smaller house, etc.? She thought that all the working mothers .. janelle, christine ... would pay for her daughter's college education?! They all have 6 or 7 children to feed, dress and pay for their colleges. I hope the mothers rise up against Meri and make her pay her own daughter's college education or make her go to the local university like the other kids. Meri is showing a bad example of "family" with her daughter .. she should be teaching her sharing, working, sacrificing ....otherwise her daughter will turn out just like her .. and where has that gotten her?!!!
DeleteMeri is so selfish, and she's taught her spoiled brat daughter to be the same. Meri knew her "privileged" daughter wanted to attend an elite private school. She should have built a smaller house, lose the precious wet bar, and put her money aside for her brat kid. I hope that the other mothers rise up and make her pay her own daughter's education. Christine & Janelle have 6 or 7 kids each and they have to pay for their education too, and probably at the local community college ... where Mariah should be forced to go ....
DeleteOh Pleeze, don't ask me to tune in next season for a re-commitment ceremony in some exotic local featuring custom designed jooolery by Kooter. I have fibroids with more artistic merit then he can ever dream of creating.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only one who saw her tweet. Let's hope Funky Town gets that one in on the tweet list.
DeleteI am sure she will working on them right now!
DeleteThey will have an entire season centered around a recommitment ceremony and the last episode will air it. Season will be more boring than the last. *YAWN*
ReplyDeleteNow I'm angry. Why do we have to be accepting of Kody's beliefs but he can be so condescending and patronizing when it comes to other people's beliefs?
ReplyDeleteCanadian, I'm with you. It's always about how they are persecuted and discriminated against, but they sure don't have any problems condescending to people that are monogamists.
DeleteOr hippies, or people that use crystals. But you're right, Funky Town, they really are condescending to monogamists. Robyn has shown that she thinks her lifestyle is superior to monogamy and she is very distrustful of a monogamist therapist because she cannot possibly understand. I am all for the Browns trying to show that they should have the right to live this way, but I cannot stomach them when they act like their choice is somehow better than other people's.
DeleteRobin is always next to the Kodster!! Whether they are sitting on the couch, or in a boardroom, on out to dinner, or a business function and in the car, she is totally right next to him!!! That to me tells a lt!!
ReplyDeleteYes Robyn is always next to Kody and has been since day one. What is surprising is that Janelle seems to have taken a more prominent spot in the last season. Is it because of the weight loss or because Kody knows who will be supporting the family when the show disappears.
DeleteThis is just recycled, repetitive junk....!!
ReplyDeleteAnd this interviewer is literally spoon feeding them idiotic questions.
Commerical on now and then we will see Sobbin get to pitch her joolery.
This episode is insulting to all viewers.
I somewhat liked the episode.
DeleteThey went from individually bashing the mission statement, to playing with blocks without reaching consensus, to deciding to have a recommitment ceremony. They have nothing to recommit to, since they fail to articulate any shared or agreed-upon purpose.
ReplyDeleteI like Meri's hair.
ReplyDeleteIt does look better.
DeleteShe must be reading SWB and realized it was time to give up on the hedgeclipper cut.
Now we just have to hope that Kody realizes it's past time for him to give up whatever type cut he has.
DeleteThey all look pretty. Usually Meri's hair looks like it was chewed off by a goat. Tonight it looks smoother and healthier. Kodi's still using the goat. Can't you hear the bleat? Baaaaaaaaald!
DeleteI am laughing so hard about the hedge-clipper haircut & that a goat has been K's and M's stylist! :D Hilarious stuff in these comment sections, and I love it!
DeleteThey are all friends... That was quick..
ReplyDeleteFriends who may be angry when they see their husband taking out their sister wife's garbage.
DeleteSobbin just cannot stop fidgeting,
ReplyDeletePulling at her clothes, blotting her mascara, switching her legs, smacking her lips lips....
Also, each wifey obviously had hair and makeup before this shoot. But at least this year the black false eyelashes are gone. Lots of mascara but no daisy duck eyelashes like last year's sit-down.
Oh, no, we're going to relive "Robyn's Story"
ReplyDeleteI am prepared....Puffs, I mean Pepcid in hand !!
DeleteI missed the Marriage Therapy show; will see it later tonight. Watching the Q&A hour, the laughs seem so fake, the answers so guarded, the facial expressions so sad. The only real smile I've seen so far, is the beaming/gloating one Robyn gave when they were showing the clip of the builder saying she and Kody were still in the "honeymoon phase" of their relationship.
ReplyDeleteChristine looks terrible, and so "forced" in all of her comments and reactions, imo.
Tamron cried when she watched Robins Story of her Purity.. *rolling eyes*
ReplyDeleteDid that not make you want to vomit? Sure she did!
DeleteWhy doesn't Robyn the manipulator just admit she was a horny teenager like the rest of us? Geez!
DeleteVery professional journalist...
DeleteWow!!!!! Everyone is supposed to accept the Browns and their religion but they don't accept anyone outside their group. (I think they pretend sometimes for money.) They go to therapy in Sedona to make fun of the "Hippies" and the earthy people. They bring on FLDS, AUB, Kingston, and other abuse survivors to their panel and discredit their experience. They make fun of the protestant youth group that welcomed their kids by calling them sharks. Robyn says she is skeptical of the therapist because she is a monogamous.(Monogmus) Kody talks about the monogamous dogma and laughs. These people are despicable and really stupid because the new age earthy people are probably more accepting and part of their fan base.
ReplyDeleteHubby and I were cracking up paraphrasing Kodunce fitting his "square peg" into a monogamous woman's "round hole". Crass, but funny!
DeleteMA very good points
DeleteAnony, very good joke!
Yes, the CV of the UT therapist listed extensive experience with polygamist couples (eye roll). Sedona is a wonderful, peaceful, moving place, and Kody, if you'd shut your pie hole for once, and perhaps open yourself to other cultures, you could have learned a lot from that tour guide, including the fact that you were next to a creek, not a river, or the defense mechanism used by the grasshopper is not so dissimilar from how your wives feel quite often. I wish I had the time to have a retreat with my husband, but, ya know, I work and spend time with my kid.
DeleteI too was put off by the stream of insults the family threw at pretty much everyone who helped them in Sedona. It was a real insight into the ugly family culture and how they deal with anything different. If we don't like it, we either declare it against our faith or make fun of it.
DeleteThey painted themselves to be the WORST star-bellies OF THEM ALL!
DeleteKody especially. Badly done, Kody Brown, badly done. You are eithert a hipster "with the weirdest religion on the planet" nor a cool hippie. You are, mistaken, sir. Or should I be as mature as you and just call you "crazy pligy"?
My gosh, please don't individual date at 18? Are they just supposed to marry people without spending any time with them? Sounds like the FLDS!
ReplyDeleteAll their hair does look nicer.
Jenelle just stares at the floor when Robyn pontificates.
Poor, poor Mykelti. Designated problem child of the family, on what basis??
I'm not sure how true their statement about dating at 18 is. Didn't Madison say she had dated? I don't think she's quite 18 yet, is she?
DeleteYou're right CG. Maddie did say that she's dated (but not dating which makes no sense) and she's just now a senior in high school. I guess the parents didn't review that talking point with the kids before they sat down to tape.
DeleteMaddie said she had been on single dates but has never been in a relationship long term with someone.
DeleteSinister Drives: The family doesn't seem to want them to marry at 18 so it wouldn't be no dating before marriage, and thus NOT like the FLDS
Once again, Robyn puts down her ex-husband on national TV...truly a mean thing to do.
ReplyDeleteIn regard to mister sisters scoop on kody ranting about being a business man and Willy telling him off and kody being pissed off: he's probably very jealous of his hair lol
ReplyDeleteLob
Well it is clear from the teaser before the commerical that this sitdown is going to throw more trash on the panel participants.
ReplyDeleteDisgusting!!
And here they go.......
SHUT UP, SObbin !! Christine, you are pathetic.
Well said, Monogamous Apostate, 9:29pm!
ReplyDeleteDon't you wonder if they knew the questions in advance? I do.
DeleteYou know they do.
DeleteWhy does Kody walk away when a kids' friend says he's a pump? He says it's because he doesn't want to argue. I say it's because he has no argument that makes sense other than he's populating his celestial planet. Quite frankly, pimp sounds better and is more believable.
ReplyDeleteOh, BUNZ, I know you meant to type "pimp" in the first sentence...but "pump" is so funny---I just love imagining Kody as a pump--- :-)
Delete...a sewage pump!!!
DeleteI love the pump image. I know the rules of the blog so i'll keep it clean, but . . . pump works jsut fine.
DeleteI really shouldn't drink anything when I read this blog. (From now on, I'm keeping a microfiber cloth nearby to clean off the monitor. :/ ) The pump stuff and so many other things are just so damned funny! I don't have anything to add but I'm laughing my head off. :D
DeleteMary, Christine and Sobbyn are in this relationship because they were raised to believe it will assure their "ethernal" life. They don't really like sharing, at all! Janelle likes this arrangement because it allows her the independence she enjoys and I doubt she wants Kody, (or any of the other wives) in her space very often.
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteOh the Browns are so loving and validating .. but the others weren't validating to them.. or accepting.
ReplyDeleteFrom the families they know they are the norm.
The monogamous world is scary and hard. WOW . I didn't know it was so awful being a monogamist.
...needing to move to Las Vegas!!!!! Whoa! Meri---bringing that up again!!!
ReplyDeleteMeri, I feel for you big time because I really think Kody never considered what you feel at all.....I do not think you have to agree to all of his wives...I like Robin and feel if Kody wanted multiple wives it should be you and Robin...The other two are selfish.....You and Robin care about each other and the rest are our for their best interest....Sorry if I made someone upset, that is what they, Janelle and Christine, are showing to the public.....Get more assertive Meri>>>>>
ReplyDeleteMeri dares to bring up when they "had" to move to Vegas....are they really this steeped in lies?? OMG !!
ReplyDeleteDo they not remember what they said about all that after the fact??...Janelle laughing about it????
I think they lie so much they can't keep straight what they've said and what they haven't.
DeleteKid just said, Going to have run again.....Wonder Why
ReplyDeleteGeezz ....*Enough* of regurgitating mariah and meri's trauma of moving in ONE WHOLE WEEK LATER !!
ReplyDeleteHorrors!!
Love Logan and Madison!!!! I hope in 20 years Madison will write a book.
ReplyDeletethere is a post open for TELL ALL!!!
ReplyDeleteHave to say that Kody is looking more Neanderthal than usual in this episode.
ReplyDeleteThat over-prominent brow and those recessed beady eyes....
I don't have access to the show to see what the therapist "Pat" look like. Utah posters, is this "Pro-Polygamy-Pat" aka Pat Merkeley who was the coordinator for the state run Safety Net that ended up as a PR arm of the polygamists?
ReplyDeleteI believe it is. If you type her name into Google the picture of the therapist pops up.
DeleteAnd yet the Brown's were worried because she had no experience with polygamy.
DeleteAnony @ 10:13 - they were worried about the new therapist, Nancy. She has no experience with polygamy.
DeleteSeriously?! Oh wow!
DeleteOh my gosh!!! Ex Aub, please email me sometime, I need to talk to you! You help out so much here!!
DeleteI have a question....At the "Tell All" with Natalie Morales, she asked them if they had gone to therapy and if I recall Meri said "Once" "And it was a joke"....now, according to my calculations the first "Sisterwives" debut in 2010, which was 3 years ago....so they probably filmed in 2009.
DeleteTonight they said they have been seeing Pat for 5 years.......am I confused?
It IS her and the Browns knew her, I am told.
DeleteWonder why the kids are not interested in polygamy? Is it from what they have seen? The kids seem cool and grounded and Iike them. Smug cody thinks he is hot stuff..oh barf
ReplyDeleteOops I meant to say I like the kids
DeleteI finally figured out why Christine wanted to be the third wife after reading Kristyn Decker's book. To get to the highest level of heaven, you have to have three wives. As the third wife, you've guaranteed them heaven.
ReplyDeleteUhh, what shameless peddlers !!
ReplyDeleteThey end on describing how elaborate they want the committment ceremony to be.
Translated....
Hey, people make sure you all tune in next season or else you won't get to see us in our gowns.
Hucketers....just 2nd rate hucketers.
Their agenda is not about anything but keeping the show going and the money coming.
Well of coarse they want the show and the money to keep coming. LOL ...would you expect them, or anyone else for that matter, to throw up their hands and say "this money is getting boring, lets go back to being poor"?
DeleteAmen
DeleteAgree, but then they shouldn't keep the myth going that they are doing the show to be the plyg posterfamily, and that they want to educate non-plygs about the Principle. Especially when Kody complains that other pygs do not have his back like he thought they would.
DeleteThey simply want the money and will do and say anything to achieve that. It always was about the money.
Overall they really were not hurt by coming out, as they say they were. Yes, Meri lost her job, but it was a very part time job and likely not contributing a lot to the household.
DeleteKody lost some accounts, supposedly. My theory about his accounts, especially since I know the sign company he worked for and how accounts are handled, he didn't lost them because he "came out" on TV. I think he was back and forth trying to woo the recently re-purrrrified Robyn and wasn't paying his job the attention he needed to.
In the company he worked for (I have dealt with them a lot in the past) you don't have a certain account. If I called for a question or to go over a change I wanted to make, I dealt with whichever salesperson showed up. Yes, I may have had Jim Bob for 3 years, but if territories shifted or Jim Bob got too busy, I dealt with John Boy and that's just how it was. Jim Bob did not consider our business "his" account and unless he really messed up, he wouldn't be changed out. No one at the company would say "Sure Funky, we won't send Jim Bob anymore because you don't want him since he's a polygamist."
When you deal with the company Kody was with, there is only so much supply and if you needed it, you dealt with them if they owned what you needed.
About the gowns, maybe they could go on the TLC show "Say Yes to the Dress" like the Duggers did when they needed a fancy dress.
DeleteThought this season was going to end with commitment ceremony
DeleteWouldn't it be hilarious, if all 4 wives went shopping for gowns together. Meri, Janelle, and Christine could pretend they are really trying to choose one along with Robyn. Then later go back with Kody and let him pick their gowns. Then after all was said and done, on the couch session. Kody could say "Oh I gota bomb, im gonna drop" Then of coarse Christine could chim in and say "I didn't feel Robyn needed to know that" lol
Deletemy same thoughts on that
ReplyDeleteI appreciate Janelle. Both her and Christine would be the best lesbian couple. Christine would be the stay at home nurturer and Janelle was the breadwinner who likes to have fun. Who needs the other three?
ReplyDeleteIck!
DeleteLesbian couples are great and those too could raise those kiddos beautifully on their own. Kooty just interferes.
Deletedo we even KNOW they are lesbians to therefore assume they would make the best lesbian couple? lol
DeleteThe only reason the other kids (ignore Mariah) didnt say no to polygamy for sure is that they are Christine's kids and they felt bad for their mom. Janelles' kids have seen how Kody treats her as fourth fiddle and as a 'friend' not a wife, and those kids want more-like actually love.
ReplyDeleteEvery time a segment is filmed where Kody is sitting on the couch and giving us his "deep" thoughts or opinions I always feel like I am watching a SNL skit.
ReplyDeleteBahahahaha! Me, too!!
DeleteI've been wondering if Meri was so jealous of Janelle and Christine having babies all that time that she suggested Kody and Robin get together out of spite, Christine was pregnant at the time of the courting, etc.. If Meri cared at all about Christine she would never have done that. Meri brought up her feeling bad everytime one of them was pregnant it bothered her.
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea ...
DeleteYes, I think that Meri saw Christine as the family spokesperson at pro-polygamy affairs with Kody, having a good time as the third and "fun" wife that helped diffuse the problem with the first two who didn't like each other.
DeleteI think Meri figured she'd show Christine; "get back" at her a little by introducing a more competent "rival".
When Robin came into the picture, Meri and Kody were having communication and relationship problems, right?
That's like MONOGAMISTS believing that adding another kid or having a baby will solve relationship issues.
And before Robin, when Christine was added to the family a bond was created between Meri's frenemy Janelle and Christine. Meri felt on the outs and purposely shook things up with persuading Kody to pursue Robin.
NOW I think that Meri has regrets in spite of the fact that Robin kisses her back bumper all the time (in accordance with the polygamist balance of the wives behavior patterns).
I think Meri wishes she had Kode to herself. Too bad she was brought up in polygamy and is so indoctrinated.
Tell me what you think! Is it easier, once we get used to it, to have the pages behind the main post like this? Is does keep the posts easier to find. Let me know!
ReplyDeleteSure, I don't mind the click here to continue format.
DeleteTry it out for awhile and see what others think.
I find it pretty simple as well :-)
DeleteYes, this is better. Thanks for the idea!
DeleteHave you bought your T shirt yet??
ReplyDeleteAfter watching those self serving whining narcissists I feel like I've been run over by a Mack truck. I won't be watching these miserable people anymore. I feel like I need a Zoloft.
ReplyDeleteHow dare that man/child Kody call the therapist a "crazy lady." He's no gentleman.
These kids would have a completely different outlook if they didn't have a TV show....
ReplyDeleteOh so you like Vegas now?.....duh, that's because they are filming the show...and we have our big houses.
If I hear that Meri is an empty nester ONE more time....I'm going to scream!!!!!!
Did you love how Kody had to move everyone from the Meri's kitchen counter over to the "Wet Bar"....lol! So blatant!
Advise to you Kody....when you are sitting on the couch, DON'T put your face down in your hands....exposing the MAJOR bald spot.
These people are liars!! They contradict themselves constantly!
They are so not happy......still.
Kody, you really didn't have to ask these women, when you die will they still stay together.........you should have asked them...When the money runs out, are you still staying together????
Oh now, they are happy. Christine and Robyn said they've not had a bad experience on the panel.....
Delete"If I die, will you stay together" was code for "even after my death you will be bound to each other and therefore unavailable to any other man" It's all about control through guilt and other emotions, like jealousy.
DeleteI see that Mariah has her mother's passive/aggressive pout and water works down pat.
ReplyDeleteI commend her for wanting to become a Dr. but since her mother chose to marry a man with 16 other children she may have to go to pre med at a state school, nothing wrong with that. They produce alot of good doctors.
I have to say, this is great fun, and I enjoy meeting up here with my SW bunch. Thanks to all that make it happen!
ReplyDeleteThe fifth wife comes with a large dowry.
ReplyDeleteI also found it funny that God and Faith were the smallest blocks in their "Mission Statement Building Chalk Blocks"
ReplyDeleteI think that tells you something.
I think the missing block is "integrity"
DeleteI thought Christine would have a come to Jesus moment after watching how shabbily she treated her Aunt, maybe apologize but it didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteHer lights are on but no one is home.
is there anybody IN there....just shout if you can hear me....is there anyone at home?
DeleteSo in the circle exercise, was Meri indicating that Robyn comes between her and Kody? Or she feels Robyn is closer to Kody than she is? I was surprised how many times Meri said she did not express herself fully or reveal her true self on camera.
ReplyDeleteOMG - was not happy to hear them rehash the panel again, especially when we have first hand accounts here telling us a very different story.
It seems so odd, unbelievable, that the family had not discussed how much they would contribute towards post high school training/college. Especially when they had been in counseling for 5 years? I am flabbergasted. And they were building homes, come on...Things never add up on this show.
I'm sure it is hard to edit hours of filming, but the Sedona show seemed like they kept cutting pieces together and suddenly inserting a comment, or switching away to another scene when I'd like to hear more about what/why they just said what they did. Frankly, I think they could have used all of the footage from the Sedona retreat as this last season, because we only had what, 5 1/2 episodes = 44 min x 5.5 = 4 hours of content. They were finally delving into some real things.
And in season 1 they said they had only been to counseling once!
DeleteRobyn is the Queen Bee at the moment and knows it, the contractor confirmed that. Christine's face when she heard that....priceless.Why vie for his attention, just let him go. These are not sophisticated women and their body language (no matter how hard they tried to hide it) spoke volumes.
DeleteI totally felt the same way about meri in the circle exercise! Like she was finding her place in relation to kody and that darn robyn steps in between, WTF!!
DeleteIm sorry I keep adding little bits here and there, but I suddenly keep remembering things...
ReplyDeleteUh...what about modesty??? Hello Christine...CLEAVAGE! Holy cow, also someone should have advised Aspyn that the dress she was wearing would not work out well for sitting on the couch.
Seriously...re-watch.....one shot Christine's pink cami is high, then next shot it is low and you see it.
Don't forget Mariah's shorts.
DeleteIF someone can tell me where exactly that Meri was saying they just went to therapy once you could save me one dig out of many this week. Was it the season one tell all?
ReplyDeleteIt was in the Natalie Morales "Tell All"....I was looking through YouTube, couldn't find it, but I so remember it...It stood out to me because I always wondered who they could go to, to discuss their situation.
DeleteIf I recall.......Natalie Morales asked them if they went to therapy...Kody pipes up "Yes we do", then Meri gives him a look and says "We went once and it didn't work out"......then Kody gave her a death glare because she made him look like a fool and threw him under the bus. He was trying to make it sound like they went all the time.
DeleteOK, I'm about to watch the therapy show....
ReplyDeleteHave only read a few comments here, but....they do seem to be being careful to not show Robyn's stomach. Looked like baby bump to me when she was getting out of car.
Kody, you don't want a woman telling you to do anything at all!
So...in planning to pay for those humongous houses, NO ONE ever thought about paying for their children's college!!!
ReplyDeleteMeri, if your house was smaller, you gave up the wetbar or the 5th bedroom, ANY sacrifices at all, would have helped pay for your ONLY CHILD's college.
I've said it many times in last few days, I'm done with the Brown's!
I would HATE my parents if I watched this show, how they spent their time and money, and became aware they never thought about my college costs!
I worry about even Mariah's feelings of self worth as a child in this cult
How strange it must be to be an only child of 17 children.
DeleteOne possible source of income for Meri, rent out some of the rooms in her McMansion. I remember long ago she stated that she cooks for herself to be healthy (if I remember this was a dig at Christine) for more income she could offer meals, put that wet bar to use.
DeleteThe scene during therapy where they placed themselves in the position they perceived themselves in the family seemed so real to me. Sobbin and Meri together with Krody, Janelle off on her own and Christine having no sense of where to go. Eventually she stood by Janelle but still unsure of herself moved again. Hopefully Janelle will run like the wind, the more confident she becomes the more likely I think she may bolt. I hope she takes Christine with her. I know Christine would be a burden, almost like having another child, but with separation and Janelle guiding her, I think she might grow and mature. She could also help with the kids and cook Janelle's new diet helping them both.
Sobbin, Meri and Krody belong together. Adding Sobbin to this family was the stupidest idea ever and since Meri seems to have initiated it, she should have the pleasure of her company in this life and on the planet of their choice. I believe that Sobbin is holding back on her manipulative behavior and selfishness, imagine her with no camera to keep herself in check!
Kody's reply really made me angry. In that one Q & A episode, when he chided his daughters for their cleavage, and then the feminist comment about educated women, and then telling his daughter that his retirement goals (from what?!) took precedent over her education sickened me. At times, parents can't afford the fancy private school; mine couldn't and I took on the onus of the costs after scholarships. But it's just his consent condescending tone towards women, which seems to have really struck me as of late, just makes me think that he talks to ALL of the women in his family in the same fashion. In the therapy session, when he asked the wives to remain together after he died, it was just another means of controlling and playing with their emotions, particularly jealousy and guilt. Then, he walks out of the house, no resolution, after the tuition talk, just like he wanted to leave during therapy. Also, the family is clearly living in the present, not planning for their financial future; does Kody think someone is just going to hand him his retirement? And what kind of financial planning have these women done for themselves?!
DeleteDid you see anything like catchwords I should count? Validate, polygamist, etc
ReplyDelete"honest", "hesitate", "invested", "empty nester", "order from chaos", "monogamous"
Delete"SAFE."
DeleteBecause coming out from behind your facade and speaking the truth, apparently, ISN'T.
"HIPPIE."
A word that has no place in Kody's lexicon, and is spoken by him in utter ignorance.
Mission Statement
DeleteVulnerable!
DeleteOh lawd yes, mission freaking statement!
DeleteAnyone else think Robyn is pregnant again with her whole nauseous thing?
ReplyDeleteMy first thought when kody mentioned her nauseous!
DeleteI thought the same thing. She has seemed rather puny this entire new season. She looks awful, so whatever it is, I hope they are looking into it.
DeleteI've given up watching the show and just come here to the blog instead. It's always risky to opine when I haven't seen/heard what the rest of you have, but my guess, based upon all the comments about Sobbyn's remarks about not feeling "safe" and having trust issues w/ a monogamous therapist lead me to believe she concocted a story about nausea. By doing so, she was able to bail on a day of therapy. She probably had a nice little balcony where she could view the majestic beauty of Sedona, do some reading, t.v. watching, napping, maybe a nice, long bath, perhaps even getting room service, etc.. My guess is that she isn't pregnant--yet. She's a faker and didn't want to do the necessary work and spend focused time that's involved w/ therapy, so she grabbed a day for herself in gorgeous Sedona w/o the other women. B/c she was "sick", I'm sure Kodilocks went right over to her after the therapy was over for the day, and the others wouldn't have been able to say boo about it.
DeleteMaybe the comment was made to build up the drama for the next season?
DeleteRobyn being pregnant is what first popped into my mind and the I reflected about how threatened she seemed to feel about therapy sessions and the personality test. Wish we could have heard the results of that little questionnaire for all of the Browns. It pegged Meri's personality to a tee. Robyn could have been pouting because therapy session revealed her for the person we see on the show. LOL Bet none of the Browns know what will cut the editing floor and what will be shown.
DeleteI think Robyn is pregnant.
ReplyDeleteThis was one of the more interesting episodes for me in the last several seasons, but I think it's all just to sad for me to continue following the Brown's.
Christine is almost manically positive about 'the family', her relationship with Kody. And so unhappy! I think she'll stay, because I don't think she can conceive of the alternative; but I have no hope for her happiness. I really worry she'll have a mental breakdown. I dislike Robyn intensely, but I don't know if I really blame her specifically for what has happened to Christine. I used too; but now I think maybe Christine would have reacted the same way even if the 4th wife was a saint, and loved her. Christine was displaced as favorite wife, and I don't think she can get over it.
Jenelle and Kody are downright flirty. I think Jenelle has awakened sexually, romantically, and just feels better physically also. Since we don't think she works much, I guess she just has more time to invest in herself in every way.
I think Meri is very depressed. I've always felt sorry for her, and now I think she is really lost without her child, and in her big empty house.
I want to stop watching the show also because I am SO sick of Robyn's disparaging attitude toward 'monogamous-es'. What a witch she is!
I despise Kody, and all the wives, for running around playing with each other. Buying/creating junk crap for each other, coveting more and bigger better things...and NO ONE EVER thought about how they'd pay for their kids college!?
I even got a creepy feeling about Logan and Hunter tonight in their 'tell all' interviews. Polygamy may be starting to seem better to these little plyg-gods-in-the-making as they get out in the world with their raging teenage hormones.
What a sad, sick way of life!
And Mister Sister, I like pressing the link to the next page to continue a discussion about a single subject. Is that what you were asking earlier??
I think the kids have been told by Kody NOT to dis The Lifestyle on tv. It "invalidates" their parents' choice. Christine's kids in particular sound like they're trying not to upset their fragile mother. After all, she did say at some point (don't ask me when or where!) that she'd feel like she'd failed if the kids didn't choose her religion/lifestyle.
DeleteHunter's probably earned a couple of smackdowns what with his comments about premarital sex and too many kids. ;) Janelle's kids are exactly what the FM elders (and Christine) fear. Let'em out in the world and they'll see through the cracks in the dogma.
I caught that. No wonder Kody said no to Meri. Stay tuned for more drama. Like an old time soap opera.
ReplyDeleteI "kind of" watched the 2-hour finale. I'm more invested in the blog than I am in the show these days. I'm tired of watching TLC try to manipulate us all. They see that we have opinions as to the personalities of the different wives and Grody, and so (IMO) they are scripting and editing the show to make us think maybe we've been wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe bottom line is, these are not people I'd want to spend my time with. They are scammers and con artists who live in big houses. The next "con" will be the recommitment ceremony. TLC and the Brown are conning each other. TLC will pay for it, and the Browns will let them, because they have already sold their souls and their self respect to a cable network.
As soon as the network finds newer victims, they will drop the Browns as thoroughly as they dropped the Gosselins. And those houses will be gone. People who are house-poor and do not have money to educate their 17 children do NOT have anything saved for the inevitable loss of income.
What a mess.
My first thought on Robin's nausea was "attention ploy!"
ReplyDeleteAnd miss a chance to be on camera...she's with child #18. What a blow to the whining Meri who when she confided(lied) to Robyn about the "NO" decision re: her baby woe, Robyn's body language spoke loud and clear...Whew...me and my baby will get all the attention.
DeleteBig hints the baby saga continues. Will it be, is the baby Meri's or Robyn's?
DeleteI went to the Westminster College website and found out the per semester tuition, plus room and board is $18695. The UNLV per semester tuition, room and board is $7608. I have to admit, the UNLV is an excellent price for tuition. None of the above prices include books, which should be about the same for beginning students at either school. We do not know how much the scholarships Mariah got were, we just know they were not nearly the amount needed to cover the expensive private college.
ReplyDeleteNo, that's not an asthmatic you hear, its Meri coughing up the $11,087 difference in tuition costs out of her "own budget."

Isn't Sedona where the RH of New Jersey went?
ReplyDeleteGame alert: Every truth we think they say, we will: take a drink or for those of us that don't- eat a candy!
Every lie we hear we will: cough loudly
What games can you think of?
Nobody will be getting drunk or fat playing this game, our lungs will be clear and our throats sore. LOL
DeleteMake up your own! I want to see what you guys can come up with!
DeleteEvery time Sobbin says something stupid or you cannot understand her mush mouth put a quarter in a cup. If you can stomach watching reruns from the start you could probably afford a vacation!
DeleteIt has also been mentioned by many wise posters here that a new show staring Janelle and her escape from Krody would begin with audience support so.....
DeleteTLC pays off Janelle and Christines home, using the homes for another show bringing someone entertaining into neighborhood. TLC finds a large home for Christine and Janelle letting them move far away. This is kept secret, Christine, Janelle and their children flee in the night. TLC pays for therapy for each of them. It seems from the limited footage shown of their therapy in Sedona, Janelle is ready. If Christine cannot agree to this, she can remain in Krodyville.
A year after Janelle's new series, TLC returns to interview those left behind! Finally, somebody needs to rescue Sobbin's first three children.
Well, if Robyn is pregnant (and maybe that whole nausea thing was just thrown in to get people talking), then if anyone in LV went to Guilt to see them or the NevadaFest to see them, maybe they can tell us what they saw re. whether Robyn appears pregnant......
ReplyDeleteI am losing hope for Logan and Hunter. Plygs in a blanket, they are...
ReplyDeleteMe too. I think there is much left unsaid. With that I will say this. they love each other and their parents. Kody should not drag them out to talk over and over. you know that pressure is applied. Therefore I think I will withhold judgement. These kids deserve a break.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch this show Sunday night, I DVR'ed it, I'm 15 minutes into it and like Kody said 'This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to poke my eyes out!!' Holy moly!! Mariah is accepted to Westminster and they are only now thinking about how they will pay for it?? Poking my eyes out....do Kody and the Kodettes have any idea that some parents consider a child's college costs when that child is born?? It takes time to save up enough money for a child's tuition....and the next scene is Kody talking about the 'jool-rey' he designed for his wives....seriously?? How bout looking for a job, Kody?? You have a lot of kids that will need tuition money...oh my gosh, this family is so clueless I want to poke my eyes out and pull my hair out....I'm not a fan of Mariah, but I felt sorry for her watching this....how sad for these kids that they have all these parents and not one of them has a clue....they just pop out as many kids as possible with no clue as to how to support them!!! Oh, I forgot, that's what all those 'bankruptcies' were about....
ReplyDeleteSaNdY, I agree 100% with what you wrote. And not only did you make some good points but you also had me laughing at the "poking my eyes out and tearing my hair out". Sometimes I get so upset watching the Browns that I have to walk away from the TV. This blog is my saving grace. I can skip the show but still get everyone's intelligent and snarky perspective. Gotta love the snark!
DeleteI enjoy watching the show since I come to the blog. No blog, no show for me. I have learned so much and made up my own mind. I think they use the word polygamy so you don't think fundamental mormon. They are pushing for legalization, plain and simple. This group was on welfare having baby after. aby on our tax money. Just now they pay for themselves. They have an agenda. I llove to laugh and joke about the show, but keeping one eye on these folks. They say they are not like Warren Jeffs, but they sure are. Now, I am even watching camera angles and sending things into the blog to help. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI think Janelle really loves the guy- just not invested in the family.
ReplyDeleteHe trashed her on national tv by saying it was "awkward when they got romantic"
DeleteHe's been kissing her butt ever since and she seems to be eating it up
meri Janelle and Christine, if you are reading this informative blog, please keep your eyes peeled for that conniving witch robyn.
ReplyDelete
