The Looks of Kody Brown

109 comments:

  1. One of Meri's manipulative justifications of her wet-bar obsession:

"If it happens that these are the only kids I am
going to have for the rest of my life, these are the kids I want to feel welcome and loved in my home. And I want to have this space for them to feel that."

    1. Uhh, Meri, those bonus kids will be living RIGHT across the driveways at their own houses, so why the pretense that they would come and "want to stay" at your house when their own is just like yours, and is a mere 25 yards away???

      Delete
    2. The kids didn't hang at Meri's space in Lehi, nor again in her rental in vegas and that tradition will continue in her new mcmansion as well. The kids (especially the teens) all like Janelle and Christine best and Meri and Robyn the least.

      Delete
    3. I also imagine that since Kody mainly hangs out at Meri's and Robyn's - that's another reason the teens basically avoid those two homes as well.

      Delete
    4. Meri really is the queen of rationalizations for her selfish behavior. She had this almost thuggish smile on her face when the interviewer questioned her on how she could possibly justify taking an equal cut of the money coming in from TLC. (She didn't say TLC, of course, but we all know that's where the cash influx is coming from. They don't have any other real income, as far as I can tell. The "closet" and green juice are both laughable.)

Robyn's just as greedy and an opportunist. But I am just as annoyed with Janelle and Christine... They are failing their children by standing by and allowing the sheer greed of Meri, Robyn AND Kody. Meri's daughter is wearing $50-$60 glitter Toms shoes, and Janelle's (or Christine's?) son Hunter is wearing several year old jeans. Very, very sad, and so wrong.

      Delete
    5. rationalize = rational lies, Mommy Meri Dearest.

    6. Who would ever want to hang out with Meri? She is a selfish bully.
Everyone walks on egg shells around her because she is the ONLY realy "wife" and god forbid she leaves - she is entitled to half...$$$
She gets way too much camera time - I'm tired of seeing her and hearing her. She's manipulative and mean.

      Delete
    7. Hunters may be old, though anymore ...

Jeans aged to appear several years old can cost a *lot*-- rips, smudges and all, right off the rack. :-)

      Delete
    8. Meri makes me sick. She is a manipulative b*tch and would never be a friend of mine. My question... Why does Janelle stay? She the only one with class and brains.

      Delete
    9. How will these people live normal lives with all of the haters?
How will the children have "normal" lives at a public school?
(I thought they believed in "home schooling")
I can't understand why they would put thier precious children in the middle of this mess. Greed and ignorace, ya - that must me it.
I guess the wetbar was worth it all!

      Delete
    10. I totally agree... Meri is poison.

    11. Just found this blog. So much of my thoughts are shared but I had no idea about the public assistance, lawsuit, bankruptcies and complete lack of responsibility they all share. ie - buying homes they can't afford, having kids they can't afford and letting us all pay the bill. Not to mention the "sham" they have tried to pull over on all of us. They are not a "family" in any sence of the word.
They should be ashamed. Really, the McMansions? Materialistic morons. Janelle - you have the common sense to get out and get on your own. Don't continue to punish yourself. Leave this sorry bunch and find a life of your own.
Meri - you are a selfish bully, uneducated and not even close to cute. How anyone can live with/by you is beyond me.
To all of you who have posted comments - thank you. I think everyone has this crew figured out!
My best to all of the children. You had no choice in any of this. I wish you all healthy and happy lives.

      Delete
    12. I'm pretty sure I heard Janelle make a comment in the last episode or the "secrets revealed" finale, that even if she wanted to leave, it wouldn't be fair to the kids at this point. I agree. She seems to accept her lot in life and make the best with the cards she is dealt. For some people, that is the easiest route to go.

      Delete
    13. I can't believe it never dawned on me what Anon 9:41 said above...if Meri ever decided to leave, she gets half the money and basically screws over the remaining wives and their kids.

Now I have to wonder how often that goes through the minds of the other wives, and do they lay awake at night praying for the strength to get through another day of Meri's whining, knowing if they stand up to her, they could end up in a serious financial crisis? If that's the case, what a miserable way to live...having to put up with Meri getting what she wants at the cost of your own kids not getting what they need. What a twisted, hot mess.

      Delete
    14. Meri says "these are the kids I want to feel welcome and loved in my home. And I want to have this space for them to feel that." Will someone please tell this woman that children feeling welcome and loved has nothing to do with massive overpriced houses? How do these people get love and relationships so fouled up?

      Delete
    15. Meri doesn't get half of the money, she gets half of KODY'S money. I'm guessing that to the extent any of them have assets, it's Janelle. Meri wouldn't get much in a divorce and she'd be left out of her "share" of Janelle's earnings.

      Delete
    16. Would Meri's spousal support and Mariah"s limited "child support" be more in the case of her divorcing Kody than the child support Janelle/Christinen would receive if they took Kodouche to court and sused him for support after leaving?

      Delete
    17. I was upset for a second at the idea of everyone smooching Meri's behind because if she left she would get half. Then I thought... half of what? She would only be entitled to half of anything in Grody's name and it seems like that troll has been smart enough to let his other "wives" destroy their credit and shoulder the burden of the finances. I see Grody and Meri as grifter/con artists, they lured Janelle in because she is smart and would be a cash cow for their vacations and finer things and then poor silly Christine came along to crank out the babies and provide child care. Robyn sauntered into the picture to be the sex toy because poor Meri is exhausted and would prefer her me time, sewing time, shopping time and now serious wet bar time.

"Every day I work my tail off for this family."

Hmmm . . . And how do you work, when you don't even have a job?

"Every day I manage four separate marriages, four entirely different relationships, four distinct personalities."

Ahh . . . stud service is such hard work. Poor Kody.

    1. This is great. I literally loled. My husband asked why I explained. He can't stand the Browns and refuses to watch the show with me. His general opinion is that Grody is a tool. But I guess when a man has to work for a living; the whole "I work just because I show up at your house on the right day" thing can leave a bad taste in ones mouth. I absolutely can not wait for this cluster $*&# to hit the fan. Great comment!!!!

    2. Anon 320 - your husband is a very perceptive person as well as succinct. "Tool" sums Kody up perfectly.

    1. so true. i wish just once someone would call him on it with, "Oh really? Isn't that a felony? Have you actually been issued FOUR legal marriage licenses??"

    2. Yes! I have wondered at the enablers on the show who go along with the "4 wives" talk. They should confront him with the truth, every time.

      Delete
    3. I have plenty of problems with this family, I can't say that I'm offended by Grody's use of the "wives" label, despite the lack of legal recognition. I know a fair number of gay and lesbian couples who call each other "husband" or "wife" despite their inability to formalize their relationships, and it doesn't bother me.

      Delete
    4. Kody has one wife and three mistresses. My husband hates the show and refuses to watch. he takes it seriously, I think its a joke. I feel sorry for the women that they have no self esteem that they allow themselves to be exploited.

Ugghhhhhh, Esp Christine & most of Brown adults & even some of the Brown teens...

Here's a Kody 360: Christmas 2011,Them celebrating Hannakuh, instead of Joseph Smiths birthday(I forgot Kody's reason why...I'm still trying to find that scene..)

Fast forward to the Nauvoo trip 2012, & Kody getting getting all emotional & wishy/washy trying to explain the greatness of Joseph Smith!

Kody definitely has a forked tongue!!...Lol

It is just AMAZING how often Kody and Krew default to everything being "AMAZING"...!!

Truth is it doesn't take much to "amaze" these people since all of them seem to be amazingly un-amazing.

  9. Kody using "iconic" to describe their jewelry.

FYI Kody it's not iconic...it's a dog paw and a chopped up claddagh "designed" by 4 sister wives who hate eachother.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes the claddagh is DIVIDED. (Not multiplied). Profound in an unexpected way.

      Delete
    2. How idiotic of them to think that they could butcher the Claddagh and get away with it. It's shameful. They are so ignorant.

Their jewelery is really ugly. I doubt they actually profited anything after their expenses and it's not going to grow. Because it's already floundered.

      Delete
    3. why don't they just add a R.I.P. under the dog paw now in remembrance of Drake instead of trying to make it a SW logo? they might actually sell a couple then. nah . . . it still won't sell cause it's stupid, ugly and overpriced. never mind.

    5. As someone who is half irish, has immigrant Irish grand parents and was raised with a strong sense of cultural pride; I find the claddah jewelry not only poorly designed, but also insulting.
Seriously, I have a ten year old neice that loves to make jewelry. Her stuff is better.

    6. noellerain: Seriously. Generations of real Irish people are rolling over in their graves at the appropriation of their cultural iconography. It's like "I'm going to take this Star of David and put a big SW in the middle of it because I think it's a pretty shape!"

PERSECUTED. He sure threw that one a lot when he went out of his way to go on TV and make sure everyone knew he had four wives and was committing a felony, and then kept talking about it when no one cared. I'm a victim! We're all being oppressed!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, yell about persecution when you're behind bars, Grody. Not when you're publicly bragging about it on national TV and remaining free all the while. PLUS making a lot of money from your TV show about your illegal lifestyle. It's an insult to people who HAVE experienced real persecution. what a clown.

      Delete
    2. Why doesn't an interviewer specifically ask him EXACTLY how he's been persecuted vs. how he's profited.

being a Brown plyg is the best thing that's ever happened to Sobbin' for dang sure and she's the reason they even got the show on the air to begin with. It was going to be a Darger snorefest otherwise.

      Delete
    3. I believe that Kodouche's martyr complex is part of what drove him to flee to Nevada. In the LDS culture, perceived persecution and the historic pilgrimage out west are constant themes. Kody envisions himself as Brigham Young, walking across the wilds of the North American prairie, pulling only a handcart behind him, and battling angry Natives and dysentery on the way.

So what if the Browns made the six-hour journey to Las Vegas in minivans and U-Hauls on interstate highways? Don't bother the super-kewl Kodester with the deets!

    3. Does anyone know if the rest of the homes on the cuddlesac have sold?

      Yes, they have.

      Delete
    4. Someone posted on a previous page that Kody's name is also on the closing documents for Meri's home. I am pretty disgusted, as taxpayers paid to bail out lenders who sold sub-prime mortgages to people who never should have been granted mortgages that they could not afford. The lenders, real estate agents, (MONA), appraisers, etc., all made fortunes...and taxpayers were left with the the American dream of home ownership (real home ownership) in shambles. So to know that it is STILL happening, makes me ill. These are 5 adults with no jobs, aside from their TLC gig which WILL END, they have bankruptcies and horrible credit histories. Kody has 14-15 CHILDREN he should also be required to support. But he/they each qualified for $445,000 homes??? Help me understand.

      Delete
    5. You're preachin' to the choir, Anon 6:32.
On the upside, I would LOVE to see interviews with the poor schmucks who ended up on the receiving end of the Brown Family Sideshow being filmed just inside the bricked-up security features that they bought into. I have a feeling that they are not going to be all that excited about "participating" in this "mockumentary" (to steal a word from Rob Reiner)!

      Delete
    6. we taxpayers have also paid for all their bankruptcies and state/federal aid in the past as well. how many of you are living in a $450,000 home? they hit the lottery apparently when they landed their show w/TLC cause that's definitely their main source of income.

      Delete
    7. As far as being neighbors to the Browns, I think it could be good comic relief for sure. Plus I'm also in the camp that thinks Janelle is pretty cool.

I have an adventurous palate, tho I wouldnt try the mock tapioca. I would like to, tho the double dipping spoon thing is just yucky!

Wishing my big bro still lived in Vegas.I'd make a pilgrimage of my own, and coerce his assistance.

      Delete
    8. Or by some stroke of bizarre irony, what if the new buyers are also fame wannabees ???

Seriously, I can't believe that none of them do not know who is on the other side of the cuddlesac.
And if they don't know, if Magic Mona didn't tell those buyers upfront about the plyg TV circus across the way and those people are rightfully indignant about it.....that would be grounds for reneging on a contract, or at the very least, demands for recompense.
      I know I would.

    2. I agree I think the show HAS to have a wife leave to keep the story going. I think it will be Janelle. Remember when the family got involved with that organization that help women get out of that kind of situation? I wonder how many of the Browns pulled that leader aside and said HELP ME!!!!!!!!!1

  24. Kody on several occasions:

"They didn't do anything to stop him!"

In reference to Warren Jeffs and his followers not standing up to him to stop his abuses.

This was the theme of his "sermon" on the day they held the "service" in the living room when his brothers were there...he even quoted a story from the BOM about it.

This was also brought up again during the interview show when the FLDS dresses were discussed.

What bothers me is that he has a bully right in the midst of his family that nobody stands up to. He even discusses the ABUSE that is inflicted on the other wives when a kitchen is shared, but rather than stand up to the bully, he saddles his family with over 2 million dollars in debt.

    Just sayin.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The reason that her house didn't cost much more than the others is that she probably paid cash for the options that cost over her budget. The whole budget deal was probably the max mortgage they could get from the mortgage company so she couldn't add the upgrade options--she was already at the top of the amount allowed.

For that same reason Christine couldn't give her extra money to Meri. That had to be bogus because they have separate mortgages since one is a wife and one is a poor single mother with six kids whose baby daddy helps her out one in a while.

  30. I just keep watching this train wreck and all I can think of is that Brad Paisley country/western song "Being a Celebrity". The first part's lyrics especially strike me as appropriate:

    "Someday I'm gonna be famous
Do I have talent well no
These days you don’t really need it
    Thanks to reality shows"

    LOL and then chorus:

    "Cause when you’re a celebrity
    It’s adios reality
You can act just like a fool
    And people think you’re cool
    Just cause your on T.V.
I can throw a major fit
When my latte isn't just how I like it
    They say I've gone insane
I'll blame it on the fame
And the pressures that go with....
    Being a Celebrity"

    Strikingly appropriate, yes??

"I'm more like a party boy, with my 4 girls. I just want to have a good time, have a good life."

    1. If I remember correctly, Janelle's & Christine's houses are next to each other, so at least they and their children will have an easier time connecting with each other. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Janelle is quite content to spend time with her kids *without* Kody around, and maybe some of that will rub off on Christine. From the earlier shows, it seemed like they and their kids were much closer than any of them were with Meri & Mariah - and I don't think that changed much after Robin joined the family.

They may still be Kody's "wives" in name, but I think they'll find more contentment in each other's company. I also suspect that Kody will spend a lot of his time hanging out in Meri's house - where there aren't any grubby little kids to hang on him. (*I* don't think they are grubby little kids, but I think *he* does.)

    2. i find it comical that he wants the "surfer dude" persona and yet has only lived in the landlocked states of MT, UT and NV. and probably has never surfed a day in his life. lol

  36. Hi everyone from Australia. Although I am utterly sick of the sound of Kody and Meri's voice, for some reason I keep watching this show. I think the reason I watched was to try and wrap my head around the polygamous/plural marriage thing.

I have always been curious about other peoples/ ways of life / religions / cultures etc.

Although I personally would never enter into a plural marriage type of living, I was still curious, so I kept watching.

What really struck me about this group of people is that more than half the adults don't respect each other or like each other and their only common demominator is the Kodster, who is idiotic and selfish, has no ability to truly understand or commmunicate with his "wives" or children, has a complete inability to man up and take any real responsiblity for them all - mentally, emotionally or financially.

In Australia he would be known as a complete dick head and an asshole and a complete bastard.

I had to laugh when Christine said she didn't know that men could be such bastards........well she has one in her midst.

I do like Janelle, although I think she could do far better than a part time Kodster.

I know I am preaching here, with the Church Choir, but I really needed to vent.

I found it absolutely appalling when poor young Colleen came for a visit. Colleen was just absolutely swamped as soon as she got in the door.....no time to even breathe before she was practically bailed up.

Did Kodster telling her that he has 4 pairs of running shoes, 1 in each house somehow think in his mind that it would somehow "VALIDATE" him. Gooooood griiieeefffff!!!!!! what an absolute tool I thought he made of himself.

If Kodster really believes that this show somehow displays to the public that the "LIFESTYLE" of "PLURAL MARRIAGE" is "PHENOMINAL" because in his head he actually thinks everyone will look at this in an OK way, then he really is beyond delusional.

What I see is mistrust, selfishness, greed, lies, manipulation and complete dysfunction in differnt degrees and in different ways from Kodster, the old mare and sobbin.

I do wonder what the other followers of this "lifestyle" actually think of him gong public.

Would they question if this is good for them or not?

    NOT is my response.

My apologies for this long post.
    Cheers from Australia

    1. If Meri dumps his ass she will be the only one to gain anything. seeing she is his ONLY legal wife. I think Robyn likes to cry.... that's probably one of the things that attracted Kody to her. she plays the WHINE BAG !

  38. If Meri cries one more time on camera, I think I will have to stop watching! Really? Grow the F^*$ up!
Kody does not act like a husband, he acts like one of the kids and each one of them get to be his mom every 4 days.
    So totally over this circus!!!

I started watching the show because I was curious to see how their lifestyle was. It seemed like they got along until they added Robyn to the mix. It also seemed like the only reason Robyn was added (besides for TLC drama) was that Meri was jealous of Christine. How many times did we see Christine smugly remark she "always wanted to be the 3rd (last) wife? I also remember thinking, after watching the first one or two shows, there are a couple of women with low self esteem (Janelle and Christine).

I quit watching the show and then came back to it this fall I guess because watching this train wreck was better than focusing on my own problems. I love this blog.

I think Meri and Kody have a special bond and if any of those other women think they will ever have that, they are delusional. I think that there is something wrong with Meri, even if it is your "religion" I think looking for and encouraging the taking on of another wife while one of your sisterwives is pregnant is a vicious thing to do.

I don't respect Kody for going along with it or at least he should have delayed things and focused on his pregnant wife. But then he is not very bright and as someone else noted has no EQ. It amazes me that he and Meri are so far out of touch with reality (on a reality show, no less) that they cannot see how they are being perceived.

That whole thing with Meri and the wetbar-- good God, and bedrooms for the children she wanted but was never able to have? I think she was putting off telling Kody her baby decision because it gave her more bargaining room for the extra bedroom(s), I don't believe for one minute she is considering it.

But honestly, did any of them need McMansions? With the bankruptcies and all those kids to send (I hope) to college, and this being Las Vegas where the housing market was hit hard so you can find nice homes for modest$$... There surely were smaller sized 4 bedroom homes lower priced being built in the area that they could have purchased next door to each other.

I don't blame Janelle and Christine for not wanting to live with Meri or put up with her-- what a control freak! If they couldn't "share" a kitchen, why didn't they just select nights to cook on their own? Or is rotation for the husband only? And if only Meri knew how to fold clothes, let her have it. And I thought the whole point of adding on more broodmares I mean sisterwives was that if someone was having fertility problems, you still had children because you are all the mothers! Meri is really a piece of work, though, I wouldn't want her disciplining or instilling her values into my kids. She is deluding herself if she thinks any of those kids don't see what she is doing to their mothers-- and that effects what they think of her.

And I am so so sick of hearing Kody say "Love should be multiplied not divided". I swear every week I am screaming at my TV you total idiot what about your kids' need for a father! Oh well, it is all about him. Love multiplied for him, time parceled out to the wives and the kids left with the scraps.
