UPDATE!! ABC News: GMA Becoming Sister Wives and Nightline Interviews Plus Anderson Cooper Snippets

Since I'm still writing the final recap for 'Becoming Sister Wives', I won't lend too many of my cynical thoughts to these clips...let's just say - there isn't much earth-shattering news. Here's hoping the Anderson Cooper interview is more...exciting. If you follow twitter, Christine thanked Anderson Cooper and the audience for "... their understanding about my choice to marry the man I love & have the family I want."

I wonder what that's all about?

Also, apparently radaronline.com needs to review the GMA interview again. They are claiming that Kody said the reason he made "...the decision to move the family to Nevada from Utah was to centralize things so everyone could be as close as possible."

Kody never said that. Or did he? What are your thoughts?

Thanks to Caramel Brownie, Border Collie, and especially to Toasty for the scoop on radaronline. A special shout out to Anonymous on 5/8/12 who thought Christine looked great in her GMA interview!

The Anderson Cooper snips are so short I've included them in this post. If new longer ones show up on anderson.com I'll put them on another post. Anderson hasn't come on yet for me, so I can't wait to see the entire show!

Anderson asked Kody some hard questions, which Robyn attempted to answer, but couldn't. Embarrassing! Thank you Anderson for making the point that acknowledging each child is not the same as being 'present' for each child. Earth to Robyn, Kody is always at home because HE DOESN'T HAVE A JOB!

  1. Wow, as much as they try to pretend to like each other you just know they don't. boy are they good at the snide little commentaries, like Meri saying she was alone for New Year's and or that Christine didn't think there'd be any more wives and that's why she wanted to be 3rd or and Christine REALLY did a great job not vomiting when she mentioned that Robin was awesome. Love their little cliff hanger will they or won't they get another wife and will Robin be Meri's surrogate, I will be betting NO. Also I thought Janelle looked really nice and well put together, the other 3 wives and Kody all look heavier and worse for wear!!

    1. I, for the life of me, simply do not understand why Christine insists on exclaiming how 'AWESOME' Robyn is.

Will someone PLEASE tell Christine how fake she sounds saying that?

YOU SOUND LIKE YOU"RE FAKING IT!!! STOP USING THE WORD AWESOME TO DESCRIBE ROBYN!!! PLEASE!!!

Do you think she'll hear me?

    2. Maybe Christine thinks that if she says it enough times, then she'll actually start believing it herself, like she's desperately trying to convince America. Epic fail!!!...lol

    3. Oh yeah, the other word they all overly use is AMAZING!! I couldn't think of it earlier, when I posted this morning, but a poster below did so thanks for the reminder :D

    4. Man on man, Meri is so mean about NY Eve....muttering under her breath "yeah whatever" to Christine...TWICE. Such a mean look on her face.

  2. I think it's hilarious that Kody forgot Sol's name, when he was asked to name all of his kids...lol
As for their Nightline "interview"...what a bunch of donkey doo!! It's a series of video clips of Kody "interacting" w/ each of his wife & kids. Him holding & rocking Sol, w/ Robyn literally attached to his side, him holding Truely up in the air, & my favorite, was w/ Janelle & her kids laying on the floor or bed & she's reading to them & here comes Kody toodling in & lays down, like he's really doing something...(eyes rolling)...Seriously?? More FALSE ADVERTISING!! What we see, isn't what were really getting from them.
Forked tongue, Kody spouting off yet another "reason" for moving the family to Vegas. What I wanna know, is to Centralize what to who & for what reason?? Doesn't really make any sense, & I'm sure we're never gonna get a real straight answer from any of these yahoo's.
Also, knowing good & well, they won't be adding a 5th wife or doing the surrogacy deal, they just try to string u along & say well U gotta watch the show to find out crap. Meri does still seemed a lil pissed from spending New Years Eve alone. Well, Meri, I hope U eventually become a better person in the end thru it all. Seems like bitterness, anger, & resentment has a pretty good hold on you & it's not showing ur best side. After 22 yrs experience & U just got back from a 2nd trip to Mexico for your anniversary, U should be glowing w/ smiles & affection, not scowls & resentment.

Cynical Jinx, these "news sites" need to listen to us to accurately report anything. Kody said he wanted to get houses close to each other in Vegas because he has HIS stuff scattered all over, and he had to go to 4 places just to get his goods together to come to NYC for the GMA interview, poor thing. I heard on the show, and saw on a map, that the places in Vegas are not far from each other at all, but being lazy, he needs them to be all in a row. Hey, he'll still lose stuff. My husband picks up stuff and walks to another room with it and it's gone forever. Just today we had to order $100 piece of medical equipment he needs to be FedExed, and I found another thing missing later. None of this happened the 2 months he was in hospital. I'm so happy to have him here except for this horrible habit of his. He is still not doing well medically, btw. I'm worried. And we are scared.

My husband's bad for losing stuff too... To that end, I've become quite the skilled detective when trying to help him retrace his steps and retrieve his misplaced belongings.

On a more serious note: I'm really sorry to hear about your husband. I hope that he can somehow turn a good corner and your fears can be alleviated.

    3. Sorry to hear about ur husbands health :( I can only imagine how scary & worried you are from day to day...It really does take a special, strong, & kind hearted person to stay by her man during health crisis. I'll keep ya'll in thoughts & prayers.

  5. I found it funny that Meri seemed so caught off guard by the what was your answer to the surrogacy question. I think from her body language that the idea of raising another kid is defintely no.

Jenelle had to jump in several times to try to keep them from looking like complete idiots. She seemed the most level headed and intelligent of the group. I find it amazing that she never gets caught rolling her eyes at these fools and seems to have the patient of a saint while dealing with them all.

Christine looks bad in the orange top clip, but seems to look slimmer in the gmac clip so Im confused if she has had progress in the weight loss or not. Im sure the "Amazing Robin" comments were just fluff not true feelings, but Im glad to see the bubbly Christine has returned. She doesn't look so lost and defeated like most of last season.

The thing that really confused me was the lack of Robin jumping in to explain things like she does on the show, maybe shes just not quick enough on her feet to come up with something to say on air ????

And Kody's comments when asked what this season had in store and the stupid rock paper scissor comment. I can just imagine the TLC staff banging their heads aganist the wall. Its been three seasons you would think by now the whole Brown clan would know how to promote their show/book on interviews, Im sure TLC goes over scripted promo type stuff they should try to say in interviews, and even after three years they still act like they just came down from the mountains and entered the big city for the first time ever.

    1. Kody's comment about the rock, paper, scissors to decide whether Meri would want another Child after Meri clearly has said SEVERAL times that she's NOT INTERESTED just proves once again that Kody doesn't give a rats ass what any of his Wive's want. It's obvious Meri doesn't want a baby at this point in her life and IF it were left up to her I would say she won't go thru with it BUT since it's left up to Kody I bet she will go ahead with it. I hope not because I see bad things coming, for everyone, if she gives into Kody and doesn't put her foot down on the issue. She stated in the book that she didn't want Janelle as a sister wive or Christine and Kody didn't let her wants or needs stop him then so I don't see anything changing. It's all about the Almighty Kody after all.

      Delete
    2. True & Robyn's intentions were not exactly sincere either. She knows that Meri's household w/ eventually be kid free, which means Kody will want to spend more time @Meri's just to get away from all the chaos.
Meri obviously has made it clear that at this point in her life, it's not something she really wants!
Translation of Kody's rock, paper, scissors analogy: Surrogacy?, 5th wife?, or Lose TLC contract=bankruptcy
...He probably says, well, it's ur choice Meri. We can either end of losing it all & end up broke again back in Lehi, or U can suck it up & let me have a 5th wife or let Robyn be ur surrogate. Besides Kody, no one wants to deal w/ a 5th wife emotionally, etc....so they all pressure Meri into the surrogacy deal & threatens that NYE won't be the only holiday she spends alone, but seriously she should be used to it by now o_O

  8. Amazing Robyn. I've also heard Christine refer to Robyn as fa-naaaah-menal. What is it with these compliments coming from woman with body language and facial expressions in so much pain and anger. The GMA interview is all lip service but yes, you can almost read janelles's mind when she keeps interjecting the plugs for book and new season. It's like, come on you guys...stay on topic, concentrate! As usual Janelle the only one working for the family. And Kody's ick factor as high as ever. If I hear how hard his life is having his clothes spread all over I'm going to lose it. Hey, Kody...how about having your one and only mate spread all over town?

    1. that's exactly what I thought, oh poor Kody as usual thinking OMLY of himself, having to get his clothes from different residences, BOOHOO. How about the wives having to raise a gazzilion kids pretty much on their own..oh but Kody's undies are at 4 different residences, so sad!

    2. How about Christine's face when the interviewer asked about another wife especially when Meri is like "We will never say never" and Kody "ask us in 10 years" that's right that's when Robin newness will have completely worn off and someone will go trolling. Poor Christine, fact is I wouldn't be suprised if they did get another sisterwife and not in 10 years but like a couple...if only for the ratings. I'm sure Kody in the age of the internet has been propositioned many times. UGGGHHHHHH

Plus our only topic of conversation is the moronic Sister Wives show. I hope you have close friends and family to stand by your side and walk this journey with you. I would be a friend and be there if I could. Please update us on how he is doing.

  10. If I was Christine I would make Robyn my bff just to piss Meri off. Thats what I think Meri is doing. I sincerely believe Meri is sooo bitter against these other wives that she sought out a 4th wife just to get back at them. She is so passive aggressive. Just the fact that she leaves it open another wife? Knowing it upsets the wives. She is the only one who understands Robyn, the sister wife she always wanted ect... The best thing would be for the wives to get along with Robyn because Meri likes having this conflict and Meri likes being Robyns go to gal. As soon everyone is happy Meri will encourage Kody to get another wife. She is miserable and she wants everyone else to be!!!

    1. Wow!!! You just summed it all up. It's so obvious that Meri is completely resentful of Christine and Janelle...and Robyn, when she was 'dating' Kody. I found it perplexing that she kept encouraging the marriage to Robyn, when clearly she despised Robyn. You hit the nail squarely on the head. I love your insight!! Kody gives me the willies. Ugh. Possibly deep down, he gives her the willies, too. A fifth wife would mean that she would have to spend even less time with him. Hmmm...

  12. I have to say, I thought Janelle looked beautiful in the GMA clip. I can tell she's been working on herself (finally! Go, Janelle!) and she looks slimmer, happier, and more at peace. I've always thought Janelle was the most beautiful of the four wives and I'm happy to see her taking care of herself.

  13. Nightline interview...Christine can't share a kitchen with "another woman" ironic, Viagra questions, another big laugh and finally, Janelle ok with same sex marriage...hum...I bet AUB princess would answer allot different on that topic.

Just watched interview on Anderson Cooper, very short, maybe 3 minutes. Hate to be so shallow but Janelle and Christine have a ton of make-up on. They both are very pretty women. Anderson immediately ask, "Why is it always one guy, multiple women?" the usual quick response, "Really ladies do you really want more than one husband, REALLY?" (like only Robyn can whine)

When inquiring about the "courting process" Kody jokes that everyone has to agree and the stars have to align and the moon has to eclipse...really Kody, we heard you met at a family friends house party and Meri presented Robyn to you on a silver platter and the other wives were out of the loop.

It never ceases to amaze me how vapid, dim and ADHD Kody is every time we see him.
And then Anderson gives everyone in audience a book, well I'd rather them sell books than eat my tax dollars.

Notice how they Robyn and Meri are not next to each other? Wonder why. Maybe Meri isn't so happy with Kody's newest toy?

  18. Sorry this is a lil late, but it just seems crazy that 5 months later, all the SW are just finding out that Meri spent NYE alone??? Esp, Robyn who is supposed to be her BFF? For being such a "loving & connected" family, they sure are out of touch w/ each other. They have all had a taste of "freedom" in a sense of having their own houses. When the $$ train stops & it all comes to an end, & they're financially forced to move back to Lehi or wherever they can find to cohabitate w/ each other. I suspect it will be very unpleasant & all hell will totally break loose!

  20. "I was alone New Years Eve!"

I guess that means that Mariah went out.

Two of the other wives had a house full of kids to spend NYE with.

    One spent it with Kody.

I would imagine Meri would be seeing a lot more of those alone nights in her future in a couple of years when Mariah moves out. Being the "mean mom" the kids aren't going to want to hang out with Meri (that's probably the biggest punishment threat the other mom's use...you will have to move in with Meri if you don't listen to me!).

Meri has obviously alienated Christine and Janelle, so they won't be looking to hang out with Meri or ask her to baby sit to ease her lonliness. Even Robyn was yelling at Meri when Meri whined about New Years Eve. I think Meri will find a way to pay Robyn back for that, and their bond will start crumbling too.

Also, was pretty funny to see Kody's fumbling when asked what the new season would hold....this is the guy who made his living as a salesman? duuuuh, rock paper scissors about what she just said, duuuuuh. Janelle to the rescue, indeed! and then Kody parroting what Janelle said. too funny.

Loved seeing Anderson Cooper call Kody on the jealousy comment! Kody was having one of his "one of the girls" moments...Finally someone points out the ridiculousness.

I think the whole "answering to a higher calling" thing about the fifth wife was just his way of saying that it could happen any moment. What an aweful way to live life for the wives. Knowing that there is no security/stability and the whole thing could change up again at any time. Yuk.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anyone else notice on Anderson when he asked Meri which wife was the hardest to adjust to and she said Christine? She said Christine was the hardest because Janelle and Kody didn't have a romantic relationship so there was nothing to be jealous of. Kody had to jump in and interject that he does love Janelle romantically. Wow, Meri is wretched! She takes any opportunity to hurt the other wives, even publically! I wish so badly that the wives could read the posts CJ wrote to each of them!!

  22. POOR Meri for spending NYE alone! Oh hand to heart, poor, poor dear. As the wife of a fire fighter I have been alone with my kids for countless birthdays, holidays and celebrations. All part of what I signed on for when marrying him. But poor, poor Meri had to be without her hubby on a holiday while she agreed to him taking on 3 other women! Surely everyone knows that holidays are reserved for all mighty First Wife Meri. My heart bleeds for her. (NOT.)

Viagra.. I felt nothing but sickened when Cody responded to this one. Big stud Cody can always get it up! And then it kind of dawned on me where his almighty penis goes on a regular basis. Then I threw up a little in my mouth. Not sure why this did not dawn on me before. Then I thought of the Stepford Darger Wives and really shivered as you KNOW those women are no doubt trying to out perform each other on their 'night'. Joe lapping it up all for the sake of GOD. Spare me.

And oh yeah, Meri and Cody were evasive about the 5th wife question while the other 3 squirmed. Nothing like a little fear to keep them in line and show the others that Meri has the power!

Janelle is looking great, as is Christine.

Anon, Cynical, Caramel, Rubber Tree, Jupiter, and of course my fellow pooch, Mastiff, Thank you all so much. Do you know we are more concerned about one another, more sisters, than the sisterwives. We give one another support and care. My love to you all, and you don't have any idea how much of a positive impact you make.

On a lighter note, this was the same crew who came in the time before last and unplugged everything in his bedroom including his oxygen machine, the electric bed, etc etc. It all had to be replugged in behind the bed of course. I asked about it and they say oh plugged in although off stuff may interfere with our instruments, uh huh, and I said and why didn't you plug back in. Want me to have to call a handyman to come do it. In a few years maybe I won't be in shape to crawl around and reach up under behind things. And when he comes home he can't wait a few hours for oxygen to be turned back on. So they all apologize and then one notices one of my dogs toys and says that's whats he's been looking for for his kid. So I'm "too bad, that belongs to Mikey, and you should look on line" Honestly, unplug my stuff and then try to put the snatch on my dog's toy. hahahaha

Truthfully, I seriously doubt he even does that much for the wives, I'm sure he has the kids do most of the work because he must save his energy to drive to each place every night for dinner & uh, bedtime?!? uggghhh!!

  31. Kody is not aging well and is looking very pudgy and bloated. Maybe too much botox?

  32. Wow! That's all I can say after reading the majority of the posts on this blog is WOW! You complain about these women, yet look at the vicious, cantankerous, nasty comments that spew forth from you. THIS is what you spend your time doing? How magnanimous of you to sit and piously judge people you know nothing more of than the edited snippets you see on television. Wouldn't it be nice if they could comment on your lives in an equal manner? Turn that mirror around and ask yourselves what others would say about you...would it be equally as unkind?

I know them personally, and the hell they went through here in Lehi prior to having to leave because of the unfair treatment by the Lehi police as well as bigoted neighbors is not something I would wish on anyone, and while it was only a handful, usually that is all it takes. We miss them, and wish they were still here. They are kind-hearted, wonderful people who have done a damn good job of raising some very well mannered, respectful children. Too bad the same can't be said for some of the other neighbors around here.

My suggestion, go find something constructive to do with your day.

No, actually I do other things. How do you spend your time - oh wait, I think I already know...

"How magnanimous of you to sit and piously judge people you know nothing more of than the edited snippets you see on television."

Not judgement, just a matter of opinion here. Everybody's got one - even you! If this will help you, think of this blog as one very long TV review of a very bad, sad television show.

"Wouldn't it be nice if they could comment on your lives in an equal manner?"

If I had the gall to go on TV in a reality show, I would understand that criticism comes with the territory. Like that saying goes: If you can't stand the heat...On second thought, looks like the Browns already been there, done that!

      "I know them personally..."
Hooray for you! Next time you see them, please ask why they chose to run away like thieves in the night rather than stay and fight for their cause? We want to know the REAL reason and not that excuse about unfair treatment, bigoted neighbors. Were burning crosses placed in their front yard? Or glass bottles and other trash thrown onto their driveways? Were they told where they could eat, or made to sit in the back of a bus? Or in the case of my grandmother, have a man lynched in a tree outside their front door?

No? Then please, don't come here to preach to ME about 5 adults who were able to CHOOSE their lifestyle, to go on TV about it, and then have the unmitigated gall to believe they should be held above any kind of criticism.

"My suggestion, go find something constructive to do with your day"

I already have. Now, please follow your own suggestion, and thanks for dropping by!

If we were on a TV reality show, criticism comes with the territory. One thing I can say about the Browns, they hold their beliefs because of their religion. It's the non-religious polygamists that need to get a grip on reality. That's my opinion.

Here's a thought, go back to your own blog (if you have one) and post your own judgmental opinions there!

    2. I find it interesting that "Anonymous" listed above is on the attack about this blog. Yes, we are voicing our opinions on a family we never met. However, the Brown family chose to make their lives public. With that comes criticism AND support. If "Anonymous" really read this blog then she/he would see how much support is really being given HERE.

I personally do not like Christine. You all have shown me that what I see of her on TV and do not like, may be from depression and personal distress from her conscious vs religious beliefs. That makes me see her in a different light, one I can respect.

Maybe all the Brown women are wonderful people. In the few days I have been following this blog I have not seen the children attacked. The kids I see on the TV show are great kids. Yes, that means that they have been raised to know how to behave and be respectful. But if the Brown women are so "awesome" why don't they treat each other better.

If the TLC program Sister Wives is JUST for entertainment, then fine. I hope they are having a great time making entertaining television. With that, nothing said negatively should bother them or any of their friends. Because it is all just for TV. BUT, if the Brown family is really trying to show America how great it is to be in a plural marriage, then they have missed their target.

What I will tell you about my life is this. I am married to a Fire Fighter. He is gone at least 10 days out of the month, but normally more. That is full 24 hour days. Each year I go weeks without seeing him. Yes, I know what it is like to be "home alone" a lot. Do I complain about spending New Years Eve alone? NOPE. Or about how Birthdays, Anniversary's, Christmas, Thanksgiving or any holiday I have to spend alone? NOPE. We make any day a holiday we want. Ever heard of Christmas on January 3rd? No? Well that is what we did this year and it was great.

Life is what you make of it. If it doesn't fit, Improvise, Overcome AND Adapt!

    3. It's amazing how people are so quick to say we're being judgemental, just bcuz we're not praising the Browns or blowing sunshine & daisies up their asses. Just like you Anonymous posters who are spewing opinions about us here on SWB, well we have a right to express our opinions & views too!! Don't like what you're reading? Then please don't waste your time visiting this blog anymore!

    4. Just wondering here....did anyone ever suspect that 'Anonymous' is actually Roybn? Just a stab in the dark here but if you read the words used and 'mis' used by Anonymous...just 'her' style

  34. I think Kody and his Sister Wives miss being on Ellen and Rosie shows. Now that Rosie's show been cancelled, I wonder if they were invited back on Ellen's show? They did go to Los Angeles, right?

I think those statements also apply to someone with a Blog. If you're going to publicly share your views, then you should expect the criticism that comes with it.

I didn't write the posts that prompted the quoted statements and I don't disagree with you about the Browns. But it seems to me that, for someone who is pretty comfortable being brutally honest - you get pretty defensive in the face of criticism directed at you.

Obviously this poster isn't a frequent visitor to SWB. Cynical Jinx does take criticism very well & handles it with professional courtesy & if she didn't, do you seriously think your attacking posts would've even made it on the SWB?? All posts have to go thru her for approval, before being posted on SWB. She could easily be like the other Brown Friendly blogs or FB fan page & delete all negativity posts directed at her or SWB.
SWB is a place people can come & freely express their views & opinions & offer friendly debate. We all have different views & insights to offer, & may disagree w/ others, but we respect the opinions of others & agree to disagree!
There are plenty of other blogs that aren't Brown friendly either, so make sure you go visit them & attack their blogs too!
One thing about SWB, is at least they don't try to swindle their fanbase out of $$ trying to get us to buy products or go to seminars to swindle even more $$, etc....so, appearing on reality tv & writing blogs are 2 totally different territories!!

  37. So it's now july and the seasons over.....i wish I would've known about this blog earlier bcuz u all ROCK!! All of u have expressed exactly how I feel about SW. I did read the book and I can say that the SW do not want to be in this "marriage" based on their obvious jealousy towards each other. I'm hoping u will all be back for next season : )
