I Scour the Internet: The Sister Wives New Season Starts May 13th Edition

I hate to be a Debby Downer, but what's up with the Sister Wives and Krew?

For weeks, both Facebook fanpages and Brown Family Twitters have been overrun with fans asking "When is Sister Wives coming back?" The response from the Krew? CHECK with TLC. What??!!

If I had a reality show, I'd want my fans know as soon as possible when the next season starts. ISN'T THAT THE PURPOSE OF TWITTER AND FACEBOOK?

Where's the enthusiasm? Where's the love?

The Browns, for some unknown extremely quirky reason, have left the announcement totally at the whim of their network masters. And sneaky masters at that - Can you see when the season starts? This is from TLC's facebook, and appeared March 30th, approx.

Maybe I'm over-reacting, but I'm just not feeling the love between this network and the Browns. At least the Krew at the Friend Only Fanpage haven't blame this situation on that pesty 'mole' from last year...yet...

Maybe the Browns are tired of the intrusion into their lives. Who knows. But it sure seems like something happened and the Browns seem obliged to only announce when their book goes on sale, or the next Kody and his Family's (ha!) next Operaccion Repo Depot Boxtop (exact location by email invitation only) gigs. And don't forget the restaurant shout outs, and Robyn's 'Buy the Darger's book while waiting for our book to be released on May 1st!'.

Oh yes, before I forget, the Browns family website is finally up and running. All I have to say is, if this is ANY indication of the quality of writing to be shown in the Book, save your money! And I wish I had a dollar for every instance the word 'We' was used.

Here's the url for the curious: http://www.kodybrownfamily.com/. Hmmm....wonder why there's nothing about the show coming back on May 13th?

So, what else is out there in the Brown's tweety land?

Good Gracious, Kody. I applaud your mentioning Truely in a tweet, but why did you have to ruin the moment by saying she needs to grow more so Sol can feel secure? Oh yeah, gotta advertise that book, right?

Okey, Dokey...Makes me wonder how many times Kody helped getting the kids ready for school....hmmmm....

You know, the Browns are a depressing bunch. I need something to cheer me up, to make me smile! Please, please somebody???

THANK YOU, MERI!!  Now I have this urge to shop at Bed Bath and Beyond, and to hell with the cost! Oh yeah, BBB wants you to know the checque's in the mail, enjoy!

Well folks, as my brother husband Popeye would say - 'that's all I can stands cuz I can't stands no more!'

And remember, I scour the Internet so you don't have to!

  1. Yes, very fishy that they have been so mum and so delayed in announcing a premiere date. I think they may have got their hands slapped with blurting stuff out too soon. What was it they did once..was it announcing the pregnancy or something? The blabbed it really before the network.

Also, Janelle looks so sad in that pic from the fb page. :( I know it is hard to get a group of kids to all look at the camera and smile at the same time, but really, five ADULTS? THIS is the best they could do?

And that tweet about Truely. BOOO KODY! SHUT UP. SHE IS LITTLE. Let her be little. What the hell does her "growing up" have to do with Solomon "feeling secure"???

Someone enroll that man in a Child Development class.

If I may answer for Lourdes, Bargain Babe. Last year, the admins on the Brown's Friend Fanpage on Facebook told the fans that they would publish news of Solomon's birth as soon as they got the information from the family. They apparently did not think it was necessary to check with TLC (or People Mag) with their plans. They got their hands slapped HARD. Instead of owning up they made a mistake, the admins chose to blame the entire mess on a supposed "mole" who supposedly was leaking information to 'that mean SW blog'. Therefore, they said they wouldn't be able to release the news of Solomon's birth for SECURITY REASONS. And a large number of the their fans actually BELIEVED that story!

  2. Yes, it's very interesting how the shows promo is being handled. I'm thinking Browns got too greedy & TLC didn't wanna ante up or perhaps they had trouble getting commercial sponsors for their time slots?? Not sure, but only time will tell...so I checked out their website & on the Funndamental fitness page, theirs a line that says ur Dream Slider account has expired. So curiosity got the best of me, I Googled Dream Slider & it's a Web designer site w/ various pricing...old habits die hard, & guess they didn't feel it necessary to keep paying for a sweb page (in this case, Fundamental Fitness)that's most likely not gonna happen or perhaps it's a "stalled" project!!
Also photos look good if they havent been airbrushed, etc... Interesting that all kids weren't really included in the photo section ..just only in Family Tree page..&
    I totally agree w/ Lourdes,"SAVE UR $$, I repeat SAVE UR $$ & don't buy their book...lol U will get a idea from their website once u visit & start reading...(yawn!!)
Now I'm super curious how many & What episodes will be shown this season?

  3. Big Sol is crushing Truly, poor girl. Just shows that girls were only created to care for the superior males. No matter what the age, the girls are subservient to the boys. That's just the way of it. Thanks loads for clarifying that, Kody.

  4. wait, maybe he meant she needs to grow so that she can HOLD him better...he tweeted a pic, I assume it is of Truely holding Solomon. Okay so I'm an idiot. Nevermind that part of my post.

But still. Janelle looks sad. :(

  5. Yep, kinda odd that KB FB fan page or the Browns aren't tweeting away about the TLC new season date!! Definitely something is amiss..
Bargain babe, janelle prolly looks sad bcz she does the family finances & is realizing they have blown a lot of their $$ on unnecessary things + not getting enough return as they expected on their LIV investment & Fundamental Fitness venture, like finding investors to fund their plunge into the gym biz... it'll be interesting to see if any of them file for bankruptcy a few years from now or for that matter, still living in Vegas. Time will only tell & will be very interesting to see how their lives unravel after TLC.
If push comes to shove & Robyn feels like she's been scorned, she may surprise all of us & leave & beat the others to a TELL ALL BOOK, ESP if she doesn't get tied down w/ too many lil Kodys...Lol

    1. I really think the Browns have been told this is their final season and that the Darger's will be getting their timeslot!

That would explain their "I don't give a damn" attitude they're showing about the season start date.

      Delete
  6. That's possible too! & I do hope Dargers get a shot, just bcz I know it prolly didn't go over too well in the Brown family if that is the case. They should learn some professional showbiz courtesy & couth , bc it will eventually affect their business relations. If they don't have a fan base, they will have to generate a whole other avenue of suckers to peddle to...lol
I mean dang at least go out w/ ur head held high!!
I just wonder, if they got a big slap on the hand for over peddling too much to their fan base??
Also, if the Dargers do get a show to replace Sister Wives, I just wonder if the Browns will still show them public support via twitter??...lol

    1. Oh yeah, maybe TLC didn't like them hawking Liv, Liv speaking engagements and pampered chef stuff all the time.

    2. Agree with both of you. The Browns seem to bounce from one financial mess (serial bankruptcy) to another (MLM ripoff). They accepted baby gifts with open arms from their fans, even had the nerve to solicit fans to send Robyn baby gifts. Meri may love her life in Vegas now, but there will be plenty of disgruntled fans who fell for that detox scam who will begin to see the Browns for the snake oil salesmen they are. If we can see what's going on, TLC has GOT to be able to see it too and probably wants to cut its losses before the bottom falls out of that pyramid scheme so it doesn't hurt the TLC brand name.

  7. Anyone checked out the family tree on their new website?
Firstly, I didn't even know who Paedon, Gabriel (dude) and Garrison were. Never heard their names on the show. We hardly heard about Gwendlyn.
OK, done with the boring stuff.
In this "family" tree, there is a pic with Kody and each of his wives with a little line indicating which kids Kody has with which wive (funny, he doesn't appear on the birth certificate of most...
But... Where it says KODY & ROBYN, it appears as if though Dayton, Aurora, Breanna AND Solomon are KODY AND ROBYN'S BIOLOGICAL KIDS....
Hell would I be pissed if I were David Jessop!!

  8. Caramel Brownie, I think you have nailed it.
Somehow, some way, Kody and Ko. may have blown their status with TLC. Through greed or stupid arrogance, they didn't play the game as it was meant to be played media-wise. That and maybe they are also victims of just no longer being interesting or special to the viewers. The clock has simply run out on their 15 minutes.

TlC may realize that to abruptly pull the plug on them and then come back with yet another plyg family will likely get dismal ratings. Realistically, other than looking different minus the whining and bad wardrobe (and it does look like the Brown girls have ditched the t-shirt/tank tops) what else could the Dargers offer of interest??? So perhaps the plan is to ease the transition from one family to the other for this season. Doubtful that will work either, though. Living life as Plygs may have been exhausted at this point.
What else can be said or shown??

Ironic, isn't it, that what SW has evolved to be, from the viewers vantage, was all about how dysfunctional they all appear to be. That was the eventual hook, the selling point....!!!

    1. I don't think the Kody Klan would "pass the torch" so to speak to the Darger's easily. (that is giving them too much credit) Why would they? They would see the end of their own meal ticket and fight for more time by some sort of "sensationalism." I think more than likely they know the Darger's have more of a fan base because the don't seem so creepy and are trying to get more "sales" or "followers" by being friendly - if you like the Darger's, you will love us - kind of thing.

If they see this as their last season, be prepared for some more family time (see, I love my kids and not just the newest one)and more drama (new wife, new children, new sisterwives drama).

I just don't see them as being gracious enough to help another family at the risk of harming their own.

    2. You would think that with all their money, talents (how many of the kids list the talents of photography, art, etc) and examples of other websites; they would have a better family tree diagram and pictures. Is it me or are half of the pics blurry and a bit odd looking?

    3. Does anyone remember that youtube account Kody set up and then deleted a few days later? The "quality" of those sorry videos kind of match the sorry nature of that family tree and pictures of the children.

  12. Of the Browns' 15 mninutes there are mere seconds left, IMVHO... Because they are pretty much just as trashy, greedy and obnoxious as the Kardashians...

However, serious plyg life would be interesting because it's so different, I think TLC made a big mistake with the Browns, they should have chosen de Dargers instead (but if they switch now, it won't be as effective because they already messed up with the Browns... But still it would be a lot better.

Instead, the Browns should be on E!, between the Kardashians and Jerseylicious.

    1. But that skin crawling creepiness Joe Darger has is what makes the entire Darger group interesting. That self satisfied smirk he has on his face in his pictures, the Stepford Wives like smiles of his wives - oh yeah, there's a LOT more going on under that surface than the Browns. Kody may be a creep, but Joe is definitely creepier by far.

People are going to be all over this. They're in no danger, for this season at least. Even after that, they can go to another network, if someone is literate enough to sign all the names.

I think the network is dealing with the Romney factor and messing with the timing -- plus trying to control these freaking idiots who don't seem to understand reality TV restrictions pay their bills.

  17. Well, I haven't commented in awhile because I was hoping that Sister Wives would NOT be back. However, if the show would have some TRUTH in it, like some of the story lines mentioned in the prior post, I would be less inclined to trash it. But it does not look like they will have the neighbors appearing to tell what really goes on, or Robyn's ex to tell his side of the story. If their family website is any indication, TRUTH is the last thing the Browns are going to present in the new season. They have a long entry (complete with grammatical errors such as runon sentences) justifying their decision to have four houses. Supposedly, they really wanted one big house but the wives all wanted different things in a house, so they rented 4 separate houses instead. REALLY? And they present bios on the kids, but not on the wives or the husband? I am not a child pyschologist, but I certainly agree that if a child has a problem, it should be dealt with, not ignored. So they are ignoring Aspyn's weight problem, and Hunter's possible depression (or did it cure itself???) and the autism of one of Robyn's kids (I forget which one.) They are all going to college and doing well in school and getting along famously. Aspyn's comment about having a sister wife is blown off as a harmless prank, despite how much consternation it caused in Twitterland. While I am all for trying to protect your children and supporting them no matter what, I think that the Browns go too far to prove that their lifestyle is not problematic. They are exploiting their kids for political gain. I think they should have very minimal info on their kids (age, grade, interests) or nothing at all. I don't think that it is a coincidence that they have a court deadline of May 16 and the series premiere is May 13: MOTHER'S DAY. If I were one of the producers I would not be happy. I believe that these shows ARE scripted to a certain extent but the Browns have a political agenda. There have been other shows about illegal activities (think Showtime's "Gigolos"), but no-one on that show filed an action to legalize prostitution despite the fact that it actually is legal in more and more places in the Western world. Ontario just legalized high-class escort services within certain limitations. Anyway, because the Browns have a political agenda they are trying their best to glamorize and whitewash polygamy and I think that undermines the whole concept of reality TV. And I would imagine the producers hate not being in control. They know that not dealing with scintillating issues is BORING, but the Browns won't discuss their bankruptcies, or the sex, or the religion, except to say "WE ARE RELIGIOUS". And now we are going to get more of the same. They filmed a segment at a university in Utah, and some of the students were not happy. One student posted a blog entry which seemed to be defending Logan and scolding others for judging unfairly. Just thinking about that segment makes me want to go to sleep. A tour of some bottom-rung university? Why is that nteresting? I wouldn't be suprised to learn that the producers provided a list to the Browns of possible episodes and the Browns refused to film them because the producers were asking for too much negative information. So the show gets postponed and put off, and it is definitely hurting the fan base. The comments at TWOP have been sparse and the pre-sale of the book has been sporadic, at best. And I believe that the producers don't care. AND why should they if the Browns won't take their suggestions for episode guidelines because it would be too damaging to their political goals or their over-all worldview???? Bottom line: I think that the producers should seriously think of voiding the contract with the Browns for non-compliance and enter into a contract with some other polygamists who will be willing to follow their script.

    2. I think that the more Robyn is showcased on the show, the more interest there will be in seeing her ex, hearing his side of the story, seeing the town where they lived, talking with the people who "knew them when..."

If the show's popularity increases, interviews with Vegas neighbors will be a natural ratings-getter up for grabs for any network.

I agree that Kody would fight this and not want it on his show, but ultimately he can't control what various networks do on their own. It is only a matter of time..the truth will out.

      Delete
    3. I don't think most of the adult Browns including Robyn care so much about legalizing polygamy cause let's face it if they legalize polygamy and the government starts taxing them appropriately and they can no longer collect their welfare check, food stamps etc, then their little gravy train is no more. I think the Browns like all TV show reality people are in it for the money only.

  19. I agree.....Kudos to Anonymous 08:19 PM. Excellent synopsis!!!!

If the new season is simply to be a recycled mix of the usual Brown escapades, redundant, contrived and monotonous *as well as crafted for their true agenda,* then TLC most likely is not going keep it going.
The only interesting element may be just how they will do it.

Will TLC attempt to blend in the Dargers initially, setting the stage for their own future show? Highlighting the Dargers as the new and improved Plyg family?
Yet I doubt this will be a lasting success either. Perhaps good for a season or two, if that. Just enough for that group to sell a book or two and do the media tour via talk shows, radio, online appearances.

Will TLC deliberately edit, *or NOT edit*, episodes to show how vapid and duplicitous the Browns really are....like they eventually did with obnoxious Kate Plus 8....letting the ratings crash, thereby justifying the cancellation?

Or will they let the Browns just hang themselves, pertinent to whatever clauses may be in the contract and which are potential grounds for cancellation?

This may be the *real* show for the 2012 SW season. ?????
Thank heavens for DVR and TIVO

  20. Honestly, I hope they do not come back. I am over it. They are a train-wreck waiting to happen...but I am kind of sick of waiting.
I don't understand how they can make so many contradictions and still justify their lifestyle. Using religion to justify everything is wrong. Through the Browns, I have come to the decision that polygamy can just be a religious way to justify infidelity. It disgusts me now: putting Christine through depression, uprooting the family to Las Vegas, not dealing with their children's emotions, etc. They ignore serious issues just because they want to make polygamy look good. It's wrong and I hope their show does get canceled. When their fame is long gone, the problems and emotional heartache will still be there. Do they not think of this? Plus, these are the issues we know of, I am certain there are much more serious problems that they are hiding.
And not to completely bash the school district here in Las Vegas, but having that many children, at least one is bound to have some kind of serious problem (drugs, truancy, dropping out, etc.). I hate to say that but it is true. I work as a substitute and honestly, the drop-out rate and also the age at which children "experiment" is appalling. You would not believe how many 16 year-old meth-addicts I have come across; it's so sad. Throw in the problems they (the Browns) go through, it's inevitable that one of their children might seek help from a substance since they are not getting help and support from a someone. And this is not bashing at their parenting (although I could do that as well), it's the city. It's a big city and kids can grow up way too fast here without the proper support. It can be hard for parents of just one child simply because they are faced with peer-pressure and negative influences every day. Four parents, with seventeen(?) children is just not enough parental support in a city like this.
Also, I wish they would've researched the schools more. While the area they are in is good, there are much better areas they could have moved to in order to make sure their children get the best education.
Also, their website sucks (lol). "Kody Brown Family," really? Wow OK, are there not four other women? How about just "The Brown Family?" Kody is such a chauvinistic pig and spoiled brat. He acts like he is a god when he is really just a temper-tantrum-throwing 5 year old in a 45 year old's body.

    1. Britt,
Having no knowledge of the Vegas school system, your post is eye-opening.
Yes, indeed, the adults were now Reality Stars, so let's move the whole camp to Vegas....making for cheap rents and more colorful opportunities.
*For The Adults, that is* !!!!!!!

But as you said, what about the 17 kids....of whom 5 of them were already impressionable teenagers.
Kids who are at a vulnerable age in the best of circumstances.
Placing those kids in a new public school where they all were already branded as "those kids from the polygamy show" had to be very difficult. Last year's show did air a few brief clips of how unhappy several were with the move and the school, and likely still are, despite what sound bites the parents choose to tweet here and there on the kids and school.

Last year, any filmed troubles about or with the kids in the episodes (if real) were mainly used as trivia fillers around whatever main plots were deemed as ratings worthy for KodyMan and the wives.
The kids were merely useful and free props.
It still sickens me to think how that boy, Hunter, was used in such a cruel way as a side highlight Robyn's birthing extravaganza. My thought was why would his mother, Janelle, allow such televised manipulation of her son? Would any mother willingly allow her child to be vilified like that to millions of viewers?

If the SW show has done anything, (even in surely carefully edited clips) it has cast a telling spotlight on the negative effects of polygamy on the many *required* children.

      Delete
    2. What could Janelle do to defend her son after Kody had already gone on national TV and called Hunter a "monster"?

What is the average age of a "lost boy" in the Mormon Polygamy world anyway?

      Delete
    3. hahaha "Kody is a spoiled brat that throws tantrums" how accurate. To play devil's advocate I bet TLC edits stuff to make more out of it then it is. If these adults were more interesting I bet the whole thing with Hunter would not even have been aired. I also think though that the teens probably were really miserable (rightfully so) and the adults made comments that were probably out of sheer exasperation not realizing that TLC would make such a deal out of it. Thanks for mentioning the school system and the drug problems, I think that the Browns are so out of touch they just wouldn't see it....but I bet there's lots of parents like that. I kinda hope the show doesn't come back, if only for the kids sake.

      Delete
    4. Oh my, the whole "monster" thing still just breaks my heart! Yea, what could she do?

And yes, the situation out here is really sad. Children get lost so easily in the huge school system and also in the city. I privately tutor a few incredibly smart, but struggling children for the district and sometimes, all they need is someone to be there, know what's going on, and be proud of them. Breaks my heart to think how much the Brown children may be missing in support.

There are some good schools here, but for the most paer, the district is too big and the student-to-teacher ratio is just too huge. Throw in drugs and it's pretty easy to get lost out here.

      Delete
    5. "What could Janelle do to defend her son after Kody had already gone on national TV and called Hunter a "monster"?

Exactly, that's the point. The kids are used for side topics, as if that is just part of plot development and interest.

What would have been perhaps more "real" would have been including a clip of Janelle protesting to Kody and Robyn about Hunter being singled out for not jumping for joy at the pregnancy news....since that was Robyn's complaint. And then to make the expressed point of making him have to singly walk up to the bed on camera to look at the baby was really pushing it.

Obviously, the wives (the mothers) have complied with showing clips like that. Or do they NOT get any editing rights at all??
Either way, the Hunter stuff was aired and it really was a shame for that boy. And it is also likely that TLC knew exactly what they were doing by airing it.
      Viewer interst(discussion) = ratings.
      Ratings = sponsors.
      Sponsors = $$$$

    6. I would imagine that all the kids scatter and hide when Kody comes around to avoid getting in Kody's cross hairs. We've seen that with one wrong step and he will shame them on national TV. Two wrong steps and he'll get Robyn to shame them for him.

    1. Who says that the replacement has to be the Dargers? Or any polygamy family about a man and multiple wives? What about a woman with multiple husbands? I know that it would be very difficult to find a woman who is actually having a physical relationship with three men who are faithful only to her, but does it have to be a true polygamy situation? What about a woman with an ex-husband, a current husband (or live-in lover) and an "office" husband or business partner? She could have children with two of them and the show could be about how much she cares for all three. The child with her business partner could be the business and not an actual child. She would have a close relationship with her ex due to them sharing custody and she could say she loves all three. Just like Kody, but without the exploitation or creepiness. Just a thought..... I don't know that TLC would go for something like that, but it would be better than Sister Wives--who aren't sisters (even in a supportive way) and aren't really wives, either.

  22. Here are my insights and opinions: obviously education was not a priority when the Browns decided to move to Vega. I grew up here and we usually rank 48 or 49 with 50 being the worst. Out of all the states Nevada really sucks for schools. Also, I think they wanted to live in seperate houses despite what they claim. It makes it harder for Utah to press bigamy charges seeing as they are no longer Utah residents and no longer living in the same household (which constitutes bigamy there even if u do not have "legal" marraiges). If they wanted one home they could have found one. As a kid I had a friend who lived in an 8 bd house. They have said they would need 15 bds....why? Many families put 2 or 3 kids to a room (or even more-look at the Duggars). That would only require an 8 to 10 bd house. An FLDS family lived in a big house in the Northwest (I think they were Jessops or Barlows- can't remeber). Even having Meri and Robynn share a 5 bd house would have made sense and saved a whole rental payment since they don't have as many kids- that would have given Meri a room, Robyn a room, Mariah a room, 1 room for Robyns boys and 1 for Robyns girls-totally do-able.

    1. Kody's wives knew what they were doing. I think that was the condition of moving to Vegas, one house for each wife. The wives don't have to worry about overhearing Kody making babies anymore.
