  1. Funny that the order of the homes is the order in which he is pleased with his wives....

    1. Or the order in which the wives tolerate each other.

  2. I'm confused. I located the developer's website for the houses they were looking at. There are only two plans available in this very small development, and neither of them have a seven-bedroom option. The largest is five, which appears to be the model they toured.

    2. Oh, that would make sense. There is quite a bit of bonus space that could be divided up like that.

  4. The very sad thing about Logan's popularity is that IF he or any of the other kids was offered a reality show spin off, it would eventually become as phony as this one.
There's no way to remain grounded and focused with a camera crew in your class, bedroom or on dates.
The producers don't want boring normal. They want zany madcap fun. They want excitement and they will make sure it happens even if it's not in that kid's nature or comfort zone.
With a narcissistic stage father like Kody, how long before dear old dad is getting his fugly mug on the spin off? How long before he's demanding to interject his ideas for his kid? It seems like another train wreck that could happen to me and I'd like to see all the kids be able to enjoy their teens and college w/o the burden of entertaining America.

    1. Anon J,
      Totally agree with you !!!
Kody is such an attention hog, and frankly so are at least 2 of the wives, that Logan or really any of the more free-thinking older kids, would stand a chance of staying untainted by "a show."

I wish Logan had been allowed to simply get out of the madness for a while and pursue life like any young guy his age *deserves* to do.

      Delete
    2. Perhaps the reason why Logan is going to UNLV is because they will let TLC film on capus regularly and SUU won't?

    3. Oh, that's a possibility I didn't think of! Good thought Anony 741.

I was just thinking he'd succumbed to parental influence/guilt. Hopefully he will transfer out after his GDRs are completed... One can only hope, at least...

  5. Ok I have to get this off my chest!!

    Ok Browns...

Meri having the same huge home like everyone else is NOT equal. It is extremely UNEQUAL in the most logical sense.

Ok, for illustration purposes, let's say each home is 3,000 sq feet. Meri and Mariah will have 1,500 sq ft a piece. Janelle would have about 429 (as would each of her kids).

Does that sound equal to anyone else?

Meri having a smaller home is NOT unfair nor unequal. Even a smaller home would end up giving her more square footage than the other wives.

How about the Browns (esp Meri and Kody) grow up a little and start living within their means.

By the way Kody, not only do you NOT deserve 4 new large homes, but I don't think you even deserve a dirt farm which you spoke so belittlingly about.

    1. I agree MF and so do a lot of others, even some of their loyal fans but their status as celebrities has jaded them all. Meri seems to have empowered herself with all the petty hurts and she has revealed an inner selfish bitch.
She is rigid and almost delusional in her defense of why she should get the big home. Can you fathom a SW in any other family, in any country in the universe saying that her daughter mustn't have a room with direct sunlight? Does Mariah also "deserve" more since she's an only child? The problem with this logic is that they CLAIM to be one family.

One family that's loving would not be this demanding and greedy. She uses her lack of the 7 other dream babies as her weapon. Isn't their tag line that the kids are all of theirs? Are they saying now that plural marriage should be set up as individual households only in a cul de sac...otherwise forget it? Not once, ever, have they spoken of an alternative plan (that i've heard).

Hell, I could go on and on and on....I really don't like these people and I'm embarrassed for them because they are blinded by their own phony importance. Guess humility is not ever a Sunday sermon topic for Rev. Kodouche, but geez it must be hard to even have church these days, they're so busy and all.

      Delete
    2. So why doesn't Meri have a minivan for all the non-children? She makes sure the house will accommodate them, why not the car? Anybody know if there are any betting books there in Vegas regarding what will happen to individuals in this marriage mess? I'd sure like to belly up to the bar and put my money down on Mariah becoming a medical doctor. My bet is against and I'm willing to wait for a pay out. I have a lot of other short term bets I'd love to make.

      Delete
    3. Even though my comment above^^ was mainly about Meri, as the "head" of his household, Kody is the nutter that inspires this selfishness. If he had common sense and didn't think of himself as a star probably a lot of this insanity wouldn't exist.

    4. I agree Modern Wife, & I betcha the hundreds of thousands homeless families across the U.S would gladly live in the Lehi house or a dirt farm at that!!
Anony J, other sermons not being preached by Kodouche is Pride comes before a fall, 12 commandments, etc....
B.C., I say the odds would definitely be in ur favor...lol Kody is mistakenly gambling w/ his families future at all levels even down to their grocery budget :/

  8. Where is the website for that, archergirl78, do you mind sharing?
LOVE this site. Lurked for a long time, finally getting brave and posting.
Thank you for making a site that may be pro or con, and that posters have to respect one another. Most sites are only one or the other. Cynical Jinx, you are a wonderful writer, and very smart. Everyone that works on this, great job.

Let's just say I have some knowledge of the Browns, most I won't share. Two aspects I will as it bothers me so much.

    1. They have lost sight of what they should be doing.
IF their whole life is based on the religion of the AUB, enough to go to court over it, then why was the court findings not shown on the show? From what I hear, Kody is losing his religion. A true AUB family would now move home and put the children back in the church school. Greed appears to be taking over. There is no reason to keep quiet now - they are all over the news, and if they truly believed, they would be sharing more, or at least be a prime example of it.

    2. It has been a shock to the wives to see him interact with the other wives. Even living in the home together, they still didn't have to acknowledge the date nights, the trips, the loving looks they didn't see. It has to be very hard on them. Sad that they don't rely on their faith to get them through.

I can't help myself, because now I have "Losing my Religion" by R.E.M stuck in my head. This is a great theme song for Kodouche:

      /...That's me in the corner
      That's me in the spotlight
      Losing my religion
      Trying to keep a view
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no, I've said too much
      I haven't said enough

I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

      Every whisper
      Of every waking hour
      I'm choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt, lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no, I've said too much
      I set it up....//

    4. Welcome, Gladys, please come back. You have a right to Free Speech. You have a right to live your life as you see fit, just as the Brown's do, just as I do. I also am wondering why they wouldn't move back to their church-base, where they would have interaction with others of their faith, especially since they'd made it clear they were running from prosecution, not an abusive, reclusive life in a closed cult. They made it clear that they live like all of us. Their faith does seem to be slipping.

  9. I think if you were to use bonus/ office/ hobby rooms as bedrooms that is where they get the 7 bdrm the condor floor plan has master on main floor plus office and hobby room. Second floor has 4 full bdrms and a bonus room.
The falcon floorplan is the smaller of the two, likely to be Meri's house since it has a "wet bar option" besides falcons are more aggressive and preditory than condors. Thus making it perfect for MGM.

  10. Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. I am not sure if we even have polygamists here, well we probably do but it is uncommon for anyone to discuss it.
When the show first came on air, I did like seeing what the other side lives like, but as time went on I see the whole Brown clan as a big joke.
I Haverhill their reasons for moving to LV were not valid as they should have stayed in their house and death with their problems there, if the state wanted to go after Kody they could have regardless where he lived. That was my understanding. The whole leaving Utah was so dramatized one would have thought they were running away from a war or something.

Anyway I saw this latest video just before Andy have some thoughts.
I've never had a favorite wife, i do however, dislike Robyn and Christine the most. It seems to me these "adults" have never actually grown, it is like they are kids living in these huge adult bodies. I don't know if this has anything to do with their religion or what, but they seem so irresponsible. Kody being the biggest joke of a man ever. The way I see it is, if he can't afford to have 4 wives and 17 children, he shouldn't be getting married so many times and having more children. There is such thing as birth control, but obviously these women seem to know why little about it.

I don't care for Meri but I do think each wife should get the equal in everything. Hey if she could have more kids she would, so just because she can't why should she get less than the rest? They all decide to have their kids, so that's their problem. As much as they talk about being a team, they aren't. I think a lot of that team talk is BS. No she doesn't need 7 rooms, even she said she didn't need 7 rooms, but I think this all comes down to Kody. If he can't afford to give the equal to each wife, don't get married. He didn't think about this before bringing in Robyn, that's his problem.

I don't care either way, but from my personal opinion Meri worked and went to school, she also paid bills, sometimes helped even Kody with money if I remember correctly from the first season, apparently she took care of herself and Mariah. Which is fair. Heck if she wants a stupid wet bar, let her have it, she has as much a right ti equal house size as the rest, unless the wives are equal in everything they won't ever truly be happy.

And it comes down to this, I think they really aren't all happy. Well apart from maybe Robyn, but she is a moron. Jenelle seems out of touch, there is no love between her and Kody, Meri I think he still cares for, she is his first love, but Christine and Jenelle, that's just a burden on his mind, especially Christinee. Robyn is all he thinks about.

I started watching this show last year with my daughter [ age 20 ] who thought this show was wonderful. Kody repulsed me even then. Coming from an emotionally and verbally abusive marriage, I saw the signs then. And as someone has already commented, if he behaves like that ON camera, OFF camera would be 10x worse.
However, when you live with an abusive spouse who continually puts you down and shows preferential treatment to other women [ wives ], you feel hopeless. These women also believe in their religion sincerely. Well, some of then do.
The only way I see any of them leaving is:
    1. They are rescued by family.
    2. They get some form of education or learn a trade.
    3. They get treatment for depression.
I stopped watching when the episodes made me feel terribly sad. Kody should be drawn and quartered. [ Hope I spelled that right ! ] Love the blog and am a long time follower . Can't wait for next review .

In one of the older episodes one of the adults said that the gates commuinity had all the amenities and the lifestyle they were looking for.
I honestly do think that the whole 4 seperate luxury homes comes straight out of Klody's imagination (and supported by Meri). He needs that to brag to others... to be able to say I have 4 wives in 4 luxury homes in a gated community.
Before marrying Klody, Robyn lived in a 1974 trailer and I am pretty sure Janelle and Christine would be fine in a big home, but Kody sold them the dream of living large in 4 homes. I have _no_ idea how he thinks he is oging to make it work long term. All 4 wives will have to go out to work, and even then I'm not sure if they can make mortgage payments (I think you need more than once or twice minimum income to just make mortgage payments on these houses). Klody's fantasies took
over the lives of these women. So sad.

I also hope that benefit laws in Nevada are stricter and they won't be able to bleed the beast so easily in those homes.

    1. If I might theorize...Kody might not think that the TV money is going to last forever...I think he might be banking on the LIV International MLM. In other words, he drank their "become a millionaire" kool-aid that is the grist for the MLM mill. Kody thinks he's a smart guy, but he's really quite gullible IMO, and was more than likely sold a bill of goods by the LIV people, who probably told him the same crap that all the MLMs tell all their suckers...he might even be making money now, but that won't last long...

  14. One more thought then I will hush.

It would have made more sense for Meri to take the lot Janelle has, since it faces 2 roads and she has no little ones, and for Robyn to be in the middle, since she will have more little ones to be encased by family. Kody said he deserved better than a dirt farm, which I thought was awful since his dad is a farmer, and so is my brother. Ironically, he now has 4 dirt plots, and it will be hard to get sod to take, which is funny, and expensive.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I thought it odd for a man who wants/has so many children to not want to be a farmer. With such a large family, farming seems to be a very wise choice for livelihood.

      Delete
    2. i thought the same thing when i heard Robyn claim the big yard one. do they not understand after living there for almost 2 years now that there's a reason most people have zero maintenance landscaping? she envisions the big huge green yard they were able to have at the Lehi house in nice and cool short summered Utah. (other than the St. George area that is.)

      Delete
  15. Now they will have 2 acres, which in Utah I believe they had 3. With 4 HUGE houses and little room to play. Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Robyn is soooo preggers. it's so silly they don't film in more "Real Time" and quit with the secrets. This show can't be that hard to edit.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't get it why all you guys think Grody is so gone on Robyn. Is it because I do not use Twitter therefore I'm missing something by not seeing their tweets? And because I never go to their FB page either? All I do is watch the show and read this blog and sometimes other recaps elsewhere on the web.

Also, what Gladys said about the shock these wives are undergoing now because they see Grody interacting with the other wives thanks to the TV show...that's an interesting thought. If I were one of the wives (thank God I'm not) I would never watch the show so I would not be subject to even more pain. I'd just take the TLC money and preserve my sanity.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm hoping Gladys is AUB or former AUB or FLDS so as to give us insight into why they are doing what they do, and what they don't do. For instance, what is the ideal family arrangement? If AUB's members had a lucrative income, were tithing, and could afford everything they need and much of what they want, what would be a respectable lifestyle? Would living in one very large house with separate bedroom suites, dens, bedrooms and one large common family room and dining room be more favorable than four separate but very, very close houses (such as Big Love)?

What is the thinking on the birth order of the children? Sons seem to be preferable, but aren't daughter's, and their sons part of the "kingdom" too, or do they join they husband, as one, and their children become part of the larger planetary kingdom of the male line?

How pitiable is it to be an infertile woman in such a religion? Is Meri having one baby, a girl, almost as painful as complete infertility among monogamous couples, who generally only have one or two children these days?

Does the church say "no" when you are barely making it financially with the family you have?

These and so many more questions I have.

  18. Somebody asked about me on an earlier posting. That page is full now, so I'll just respond here.

I read the Brown's book, as I said before, and yes I do consider myself a fan of theirs. I read this blog for while now, and when I was brave enough to post the first time, I thought spur of the moment to be SheRah.

In the book, Robyn recalls creating the alter ego of SheRah to give herself confidence and self esteem after her divorce.

Sorry to disappoint, but no, I'm not a Brown, far from it. I'm just a fan from the midwest. I've been watching the show since day one and am, actually, an atheist.

Please excuse any typing errors that might show up in my posts. I do not own a computer and am just plunking away the best I can with my smartphone.

Heck, we even have a national monument right here in Hickville called Cedar Breaks. Amazing scenery. Take a peek right here http://www.flickr.com/photos/jzawodn/sets/572285/. (Meri reminds me of the episode of the Twilight Zone where there is this very mean bully boy...the towns people are afraid of him because if you dare to disagree with him evil befalls you...so they all go around agreeing with anything he says out of fear....and Meri reminds me of this. She's a mean girl bully..and notice how Kody is always defending her)

Meri has a lot of nerve...so I guess it's ok for one of the other kids to have a bedroom with the sun shinning in but not Mariah? Meri would have 6 other bedrooms for Mariah to choose from...the other kids do not...someone would get stuck with the sun filled room...in Meri's house they can make that an office or craft room. But none of the other wives feel its worth debating with Meri being she demands the entitlement...

And Kody feeling entitled to a big house? The old dude doesnt even work! He belongs on that dirt farm...that's where you keep the pigs!

As far as all the dining out they have been doing...I'm sure Kody get these meals for free with TLC picking up the tabs or the resturants themselves giving freebees for having their resturant featured on TV...free publicity. Free trips etc...Im sure they arent paying for anything...the only thing TLC isnt footing the bill for are clothes, evident by the old out dated clothes they are all wearing.

Christine and Janelle get worthless car trips, hiking or paintballing...while Meri and Robyn get the big Mexico trips...real fair!!

They are grifters, just like Jon & Kate.
Except in keeping w/ Jon & Kate, the Browns would have to (in addition to all the freebies): Get Christine & Janelle bariatric surgery, get Robyn a chin job plus some kind of solution to that herpes thing she has going on continiously, get Meri some serious "make over" plus a good diet to lose the tire she has growing around her midsection...and lets not forget Papa Kody- for him it's hair restoration.

I noticed (and even rewound it to see it twice) when Janelle and Kodouche were with Logan on the college tour walk...he was walking behind them, the camera was on Logan and the student doing the tour, they were talking, and sure enough from behind Kodyboy felt the need to do a few hair-flips.

I guess he has acute radar when his upturn-do or the curled-under pageboy version is starting to go limp and show his bald spots and then he just has to do the head flips to plump it all up.

    4. I guess it is ok for Meri to play Pity me Pliglet over the bedroom and Mariah. What disgusts me is Christine and Janelle letting her get away with it. Their kids don't have the option of 6 bedrooms to choose from. Somebody has to sleep in the room with a lot of sun. So what, they are admitting their kids are less important than Mariah? I wouldn't be putting my kids in 2nd place for any reason. Especially such an insane, stupid reason as sun in a room. Buy a shutter Mariah. Or move out now. You'll be backing your bags anyway by the time the houses are actually built. You are as entitled as your mother. Shame on Janelle and Christine for not blowing sky high over this nonsense.

  23. I'm kind of sad that Logan picked UNLV. I mean he talked about the lack of diversity that he would find in a small college, and yet sometimes it's the smaller colleges that have more diversity than the larger ones simply due to the fact that small class sizes allow for the ability to get to know your classmates better. I attended a small college (largest class was 20) and I was able to meet women from China, Nepal, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, which I know I wouldn't have done in large university.

And I think a smaller college would have been better for him, because instead of being a number (like in most large universities) he would have been an individual--kind of how he is not viewed in his family... to a lot of the younger kids he's that surrogate dad, because their real one fails at being a dad.

Though Kody's whole religion rant just made me laugh. He talks of wanting his children to choose their own path, yet becomes angry when they don't. Hypocrite much!!!

Can't for the life of me understand why Meri was wearing a tee shirt over her swim suit in the family pool but was falling out of her suit in Mexico. She and the other women were "Girls Camp" counselors a couple of summers ago in AUB, and they make the girls wear tee shirts and shorts to go swimming. The "husbands go along on these camps too, to "watch over" the women. so no doubt Kody was scouting out future "talent,"

Unfortunately, in many religious communities, rapists/thieves/criminals are loved because they tend to be very zealous when it comes to religious rituals.

      Delete
    2. If they stay in Vegas (in spite of all the wailing about how terrible it was for them to leave Utah and their church community!) I think Kody will just do what he feels like, more and more, and find a way of justifying it somehow.

      Delete
    3. I should also say that the "tolerance" seemed more like apathy about cleaning house to get rid of scumbags, and there was also the excuse given that they didn't want to affect the women and children by excommunicating the men - pretty poor excuse in my opinion.

      Delete
    4. I was associated with a religious group that had that type of view also, especially if the men were handy volunteer sorts or were blatant suck ups.
There was always plenty of prayer & counseling for the women to be submissive, I never really connected the dots but now I can see where the "be sweet" is universal. Different terms but all the same message...shut up and deal with it.
Needless to say, we had parting of the ways..buhbye boys.

  30. This is for Robchin: Maybe YOUR three kids were a "burden" but my 3 certainly weren't, I raised them alone from ages 2,3 and 5 on up. NEVER thought of them as a burden. She's a mindless twit. If they are such a burden, why did you rush to have child #4? My 31 yr old daughter died this past January 2012 and I sure would give anything for my youngest "burden" to be back here with us. She left 2 children for her husband to raise alone, wonder if HE considers his daughters a "burden"? Gads!!!!
These people have not only lost their "religion", they have lost touch with what's really important in life. They have totally abandoned the "communal living" mindset, now its gimmee gimmee gimmee and I want the biggest, the most, etc.

Remember, nobody is employed so IMO NONE of them "deserve" a big house. They deserve to get their finances in order and skip the houses idea so they can FEED THEIR CHILDREN>
Also, NO MORE FOOD STAMPS and other assistance once they each move into a big mcmansion.....don't work that way!!!

    1. Abbie, sorry to hear about your daughter, especially her leaving behind a husband and two girls. But yeah, kids aren't a burden and shouldn't be called that. My mom raised four daughters (under the age of 10) alone and we weren't her burden, probably her slightly chaotic blessings, but never her burdens, especially given the circumstances of my dad. And I think if a person views their children as a burden, then he/she shouldn't be having them.

And I completely agree with you about them having lost their religion; I wonder if his oldest brother thought that when he visited a few episodes back.

Definitely need to figure out their fiances...!!

First I wanted to express that I am so sorry to read about the loss of your daughter.
Second, I agree with you on the kids are a "burden" opinion from Robyn, she is clueless and should have NEVER used that adjective when talking about children. I bet you that no one in that "family" would dare to call baby Sol a "burden". I don't live with them yet I wouldn't, because children are , IMO, a direct line with God, the most precious live line we could ever get.
      God bless you, Abbie!

  31. Well, if they're going by the number of kids in the family, then Robchin doesn't deserve a big house, either, since she only has one Brown child. Why should the family contribute their resources to fund a large house for her kids from a previous marriage? I wonder if she gets any child support.

  35. How old is Truly now? Has anyone heard her talk yet? She's so tiny and I thought that Christine miscarried a child before her. I'm wondering if there are some developmental issues going on. Also wouldn't you think that Robyn would use her celebrity to help others with her son's diagnosis (I can't remember if he's autistic or Aspergers)? But what a missed opportunity. I'm not saying to continuously show him because I think that would be way to exploitive and he may not tolerate the filmingwell either. But maybe a day in the life kind of thing to see what changes in daily living need to be made, how they make the changes work, what strategies do they use,how do they do behavior management, and how has he adjusted to all of this, and the other kids to him. Consistency is a huge deal for kids with these problems, how do they provide for that when "dad" (I use the term loosely) is rarely around? Also even though Sol is young she needs to get him to a developmental pediatrician so he can be tracked for possible autism. (family history and fathers over 35 have a greater chance of autistic offspring), she needes to keep a close eye on him, early intervention is best. Just a thought.

All good & well, but Robyn wore het $1000 worth of Victoria's Secret lingerie on top of this? Also, I don't think most of the teens wear these....

      Delete
    2. Robyn didn't have a temple marriage with her ex, (means one or both of them had done some naughty things or didn't believe that much in their religion) so she didn't have to wear the garments like she does now. You're right the teens don't wear these, it's for after marriage.

      Delete
    3. It didn't look to me like most of this quadruple marriage got married in temple. You are AUB so I'm sure you know, but were they all married in temple and therefore required to wear the garments. I'd forgo the temple ceremony if that was my reward. Does this mean Romney and wife were not required to wear these garments before they were married? Love to hear more, ex AUB

      Delete
    4. I'm certain all of these women went through a fake ceremony in AUB ordinance building, and are therefore required to wear the long sleeved and full length garments (they obviously roll up the sleeves and legs sometimes). It's a complete package - you can't get to live polygamy with AUB sanction and get to Fundie heaven unless you make a load of promises including agreeing to wear the garments always. Mainstream Mormons go through their temple and get garments before they go on a mission, or if not, when they get married - and LDS garments are above the knee and have very short cap sleeves.

      Delete
    5. Romney's not AUB. he's mainstream mormon and he would have started wearing garments once he took out his endowments in the mormon temple (different from the aub temple) for his church mission. His wife would have started wearing them once she took out her own endowments right before their wedding in the temple.

      Delete
    6. Thank you Ex AUB and Anon 12:18 for your responses. I'd seen the Romney type garments which don't seem so bad, and I don't have a beef at all with these religious symbols. I did not know that LDS got the garments prior to marriage vs at marriage for AUB nor that AUB garments were so much bulkier. I guess taking out endowments means pledges to the faith, or something like that. Anyway thanks for your kind answers.

When “Sister Wives” first debuted, Kody Brown had himself three wives and the wedded bliss of multiple marriages was the theme of his show. The wives couldn’t say enough about the bonds of love and friendship they had between them and it was stressed that jealousy wasn’t an issue when it came to their husband bedding down with another sister wife. After watching the show a few seasons, most fans realized this was an ideal fantasy, but not happening in real life for the Brown family.

However, they also appear whenever you experience tremendous stress. And what's with the makeup people? Can't they fix this with movie makeup? I really think the editors of this show are throwing them under the bus like they did Kate. It's a train wreck but I can't help watching.

    8. Christine's is definitely Rosacea. It is not a virus of any kind, and cannot be transmitted to others. It is an autoimmune thing; I have it. If I'm in the sun for 5 minutes, or take even a sip of alcohol, I look like a bright red tomato. The studio-type lights make it a million times worse, and it shows through any make-up. It is not viral and not related to herpes. The big disgusting cold sore though--that can cause sores on the end of the nose--like K-douche's. That is considered the worst form of the disease.

I am sorry, I mean the whole episode. I haven't been able to watch it yet. I am downloading it now (since the streaming link didn't work). Will be able to finally watch it soon!

    2. Just watched the interview again. Kody says when he was young that he was trying to be a "wild boy AND a spiritual boy." I guess he fulfilled both those ambitions by being able to sleep with multiple women AND justify it on the grounds of religious obligation. And as for all the sanctimonious claptrap about how holy this is and better than all those monogamous "cheaters", there were (and probably still are) plenty of polygamist AUB men who still committed adultery or molested their daughters, so stop with all the "holier than thou" nonsense!

  54. Without reading any of the other comments can I just say MERI IS A SELFISH BITCH! Thanks :) Before committing to anything she had to make sure her house would be as nice as the others (and as big?) Do these people live in Lala land or what?

  56. Hi everyone. Love this blog!

Newbie here. I told my husband, when we watched this trainwreck of a show, that Kodster was so far in the closet he is probably tangled up in his sisters' prom dresses. I think it's a shame that he pretends to be something he's not. His cover is " Well I have 4 wives". Yeah, right. But you don't have to spend much time with any of them. Therefore your relationships are just superficial.

The problem with him is.... When does he spend quality time with his children?? Just because you can produce doesn't make you a father. I'm with everyone else; love Janelle kids! Good heads on their shoulders. Run like you've never run before Christine and Janelle. You're beautiful, intelligent women. Meri and Robyn are balls lost in the high weeds. If I hear Meri call Kodster lover one more time I'm going to puke. really.

    Thanks for letting my post.

  57. I wonder if Meri loved her bonus children, then why not have a room for them? Give them a chance to have some peace and quiet. Also, wonder if they would have one really big back yard or would that be divided as well. ( just like love)

    1. Exactly, all is lost on how much the girls love each other, blah blah. And, kids will be ever evolving, so they should remember all that talk in season one. At least Snotty Mariah gets her wish.

I agree with the posters who say that Meri is punishing Janelle for giving Kody the Sons she could not give him, she thought that was supposed to be her role, but Janelle took it away from her. So I think that the rest of Meri's life will be all about her bitterness and her doing all she can to take resources away from Janelle's children.

Meri's "long face" is both physical and metaphorical, imo. I think she throws around elaborate guilt trips in her own passive aggressive style with ease. I think that is why nobody wants to be around her. You notice that none of the wives have been shown inviting her to live with them. None of the kids are seen going to her when they are together as a family. And going to Meri's house is punishment for little girls like Ysabel.

She could turn herself around very easily. But it looks like she chooses not to forgive. It seems that she chooses to wallow in the bitterness and feed the anger. It's her life though, and she can do as she pleases with it.

Meanwhile, she is mocked and reviled by her viewing audience.

  59. Regarding Ko-di-doo-dahs disdain for "hicks":

C'mon, now. What ever happened to "don't judge our lifestyle, and we don't judge yours!"

Aren't you from a teeny farm town in Wyoming?

I grew up in a town of less than 1000, and I've lived in Boston, MA and Portland, OR to name a couple places. Assholes, dumbtards, and terrible people are found at every level of the socio-economic ladder. HerrOOOO.

When I think of the "Hick" stereotype, I think of: ignorance, narrow-mindedness, and inability to evolve with the times.

Three of the four wives were raised in this lifestyle (family wreath much?). We see how helpless and stuck these wives seem due their extremely small worldviews and lack of education/worldly experience.

Bright lights and big Mcmansions don't make you more sophisticated or classy, Kodouche.

    1. LOL - my hubby and i are laughing all the time about no matter what state we're traveling in, there's definitely a fair share of "hicks," "rednecks," "socially backwards," "trailer trash" or whatever is the vernacular of choice. The south does not have the market cornered whatsoever despite the stereotype jokes.

  61. My suggestion is to get it at the library, folks.
Also, I am shocked by all the + reviews on Amazon, so if you have read it and want to share your thoughts there, I 'd say a reality check would be nice.

  62. Hello, Anonymous4Now says:

Have you all noticed... not one of the wives is good enough: Meri can't give him enough kids, Janelle he's not attracted to, Christine grossed him out w/nachos and he had to overcome the horror of Robyn's status as a divorced woman. They are all flawed according to Kody. These women are all miserable and Kody is in over his head. Love all the kids though...the more they find out, the less any of them are going to want this lifestyle. When they realize their mothers are miserable, the girls will really have to think twice about plig lifestyles.

  65. Was there really a choice for Logan, or was that balony too?
It is really quite morose and sad how unhappy everyone is, such a mess. At least the show seems more honest.

  66. What a read. These 5 are the poster children of why not to live the plige life!!! It was a waste of money but like I said I am glad I read it opened my eyes to how really out of control these people are a how truly sorry I am for those poor children!

  68. Another first timer here. Great blog, I'm a fan of the show but after this past season it's wearing on me. Is anyone else bothered by how they pronounce certain words? It makes me crazy- seal the deal sounds like sill the dill... etc. Has anyone mentioned that the "w" design for MSWC looks like boobs? I'm tempted to buy it for that reason!

  69. I swear I heard Hunter call Kody by his first name in this episode. I backed up the stream three times in that spot. Did anyone else catch this? Is was during part, when Logan said he had decided on ULVN.

With each episode, I find it more and more difficult to tolerate Kody, Meri, and Robyn. I'm convinced that Kody gets physically violent off camera, when he doesn't get his way. He gets this look in his eyes that my abusive ex-fiance (20+ years ago) used to get. Trust me. I know that look. It makes me so uncomfortable when it comes over his Kody's face, because I know that someone's going to get it later. Where does he get off saying that he deserves these houses?

No, Meri, you don't deserve a house as large as the other wives'. I thought everyone was suppose to be sharing resources. I thought the wives considered themselves to be mothers to ALL the children. If that's the case, why do you, Mary, want to deprive one of the children of resources and space?

And Robyn, just shut up. You put so much effort into trying to appear intelligent. You just come off as being a simpleton when you attempt to articulate on of your numerous 'thoughts'.
