One day they are in Vegas. Then there's a bonus child's tweet from Disneyland. Then there's a tweet about a sister wife (with her super babe in tow) from Utah. Then there's a tweet from Kody in Utah. Then there's a tweet from the legal wife asking her fandom whether if she should go to Utah or stay.
I am sooooo confused....
But then we see a tweet that literally makes life worth living -- that is so wickedly good, so wickedly ripe for SWB snark. But you know what? I, Lourdes Ritz-Carlton, have decided to take the high road this time. I refuse to snark on this tweet.
So here it is, feast your eyes on....
Robyn... in a purple witch's hat... flashing a Peace sign ( or a V for Victory, depending on your generation). Enjoy!!!
My favorite color is PURPLE! I wear my PURPLE today to speak out against bullying and to promote humanity!#SpiritDay twitter.com/LuvgvsUwngs/st…
— Robyn Sullivan Brown (@LuvgvsUwngs) October 20, 2012
@angio60 Haha!Yea that would be a new spin on the story huh?:-D.Oh my, now I'm in a quandary. Do I reply to this tweet or maintain my new found dignity and resist the need to snark? Nope, I won't bend. And anyway, that's a very flattering photo angle for her. Now if this had been a profile, YIKES! OOPS, My bad! ;)
— Robyn Sullivan Brown (@LuvgvsUwngs) October 20, 2012
Looks like the Browns (at least Robyn and Janelle) have taken an interest against bullying. If we can remember back a few seasons, Robyn's little one was bullied by Christine's boy, which necessitated an intervention by Meri (the Big Bear camping episode). And who could forget Janelle's youngest son taking matters into his own anti bullying fists by bloodying the nose of his bullying older brother? (the Christmas tree on Mt Charleston episode) And where was Kody doing these incidents? Why, standing in the background doing nothing, of course.
Here's Janelle, showing off her purple ...
One of the important conversations we have with our kids is about respecting all people.Stop bullying. #SpiritDay twitter.com/JanelleBrown11…

@jefftuttle1 great to see you at the open house in St. George Thursday night. Love Green2° and SereZen! #Liv twitter.com/realkodybrown/…Oh my, looks like Kody was in Utah. I wonder if he alerted the media? Also, seems Kody was not alone in St George; his boss tweeted separately about seeing Robyn and baby Sol. No wonder there were no "woe is me" tweets from Robyn.
— Kody Brown (@realkodybrown) October 19, 2012
And Kody even allowed usage of his MLMobile... so what happened to the Lexus? WHO'S GOT THE LEXUS?????
shout out to pops for letting us use his car for the parade tonight! #HC2012 @realkodybrownlockerz.com/s/252637621
— Mariah Brown (@mariahlian) October 13, 2012
Of course, we have Meri tweeting:
Hmm, decisions, decisions... St George UT fans, should I come up tomorrow?
— Meri Brown (@MeriBrown1) October 18, 2012
But wait... isn't Kody up there with Robyn and Sol? Where will you sleep? And with whom?
So nice to see Meri reminiscing about Kody in the olden days, when there weren't any sisterwives around to... ummm... cramp one's style....hmmmmm....
Today's the day it all got started 23 years ago. Meeting @realkodybrown that fall day was first step to life changes. Still glad I did. ♡
— Meri Brown (@MeriBrown1) October 20, 2012
Do these people ever stay in Las Vegas? It seems they spend more time in Utah now than when they lived there!
The Kody Brown Family will be at the What Women Want Expo Oct 26th & 27th in St. George UT.Come by and say hi! #MySisterwifesCloset #Liv
— Robyn Sullivan Brown (@LuvgvsUwngs) October 15, 2012
So why all the trips to Utah? I can understand (sort of) the LIV stuff, but a 5K run, and now a convention? You would think they could find a bigger market for their green koolaid and costume (just in time for Halloween) jewelry in Las Vegas. Oh wait, Las Vegas residents are too sophisticated ( so sorry if I just insulted the many fine folks in St George) to buy in to the hype. And didn't Robyn use to live in St George? Hmmmmm.....
AND WHY AREN'T THEY WEARING ANY SISTER WIFE'S CLOSET JEWELRY?????
All right, that's all for now. And remember, I scour the internet, so you don't have to!
What a strange, strange family .......
ReplyDeleteFlattering pic of Robyn but had to chuckle over the hat and the Sister Wives Blog comment ;)
ReplyDeleteLooked like Kody had his Dutch Boy costume on. Get a haircut!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates!
ReplyDeleteI thought the photos of both Robyn and Janelle were flattering. Well done ladies!
All the driving to UT is rather puzzling - why not move back?
Maybe they havent already?!?! Hmmm...
DeleteJust saw that they will be back 11/18... With trouble in paradise. Maybe it will explain the weird tweets!
DeletePlease tell me you didn't get this info from a comment on a fan page! Source please!
DeleteThe source of the return was an ad on TLC during another show tonight. Showed a lot of dramatics with Christine and Robyn's previous financial problems. Looked like they don't care for good ol' Las Vegas...
DeleteI THINK ITS A BUNCH OF CRAP. JODY IS GETTING HIS CAKE AND EATING IT TO. A
DeleteND THESE WOMEN ARE ALLOWING IT. I WONDER HOW THE LADIES' SELF ESTEEM IS TO LET THIS CONTINUE. ITS REALLY KIND OF SAD
Have they even been home long enough to film any episodes???? I'm afraid if they are filming it is going to be Kody and a wife traveling. This should be interesting.
ReplyDeletethe photo of janelle as ver flattering
ReplyDeleteWhy all the time in Utah..?
ReplyDeleteJust a guess, really, but could all these trips everyone is taking separately, and the trips back to Utah, a desperate ploy to shore up the show and it's ratings??? Maybe, just maybe, if it is found out they are in Utah again, the media will be alerted, and then the authorities will be alerted, and then we will be graced with more television time of the Browns trying to desperately get out of Utah, again.
Or, just to be even more cynical, (sorry, CJ,) perhaps by separating the family members this will increase the tension and provide more tearful and heartfelt times on the communal couch...
I think the wives are trying to promote something positive (anti-bullying, 'save the child brides')because they know the viewing audience is not fawning over them anymore and they are trying to stay relevant. Kody, well, let's just say he is not social-media savvy.
ReplyDeleteI may be wrong, but Robyn looks like a little mushroom cloud is developing above her jean line...could be she is eating way too much of that peanutbutterdipand whatever. Janelle does look like she is losing weight, so yeah for her. It is strange to see how Robyn tries to manipulate Kody when he is with other wives but when he is with her, she is all smiles. That reassures my assessment that none of these wives are playing with a full emotional deck...which reinforces the ideology that polyg isn't a mentally healthy building life style.
ReplyDeleteRobyn is definitely sporting a bit of a "muffin top" in that pic. It does happen to even thin people when they are bending over. Nonetheless she does seem to have put on a few around the hips since the baby. Perhaps that is inevitable. If someone spend all their time around inactive overweight people with poor eating habits what can they do but gain weight as well?
DeleteHey everybody. Sol will be a year old in a couple of days. Who wants to bet that Robyns gonna be announcing she has a Kody bun in her oven soon especially since she's been taking all these trips with Kdoy recently.
DeleteI'm no Robyn fan, but except for the herpes/cold sore remnant on her lip, I think she actually looks good (and thin) in this pic.
DeleteI think Robyn looks great for someone who has had 4 kids and a lot of recent life changes (joining the family, moving a few times).
DeleteIs "great for someone who..." ever really that great?
Deleteokay, i think she looks great period!
DeleteWhat's wrong with Meri.. why didn't she call the kodster "lover"?
ReplyDeleteIt seems Meri is out & Robyn is back in as the flavor of the month with the Kodster.
DeleteI agree. Like someone mentioned above, Sol will be a year old this week, so maybe Robyn's busy making a Sol#2 with Kody.
DeleteAre we going to point out the irony in them appearing at a "what women want" Expo? Talk amongst yourselves.
ReplyDelete"Are we going to point out the irony in them appearing at a "what women want" Expo?"
DeleteROTFL
Now, this is one Brown appearance I'd enjoy attending.
Oh, wait. They've told us the first priority of Brown family women is religious. Eternal polygamy and pregnancy on a deserted planet with only one man and numerous sister wives.
DeleteLike they've said before, this lifestlye is not for everyone.
Nor, is it everyone's ideal Heaven. imo
Because they have lived in such a finite community. And when I say finite, I mean limited, they have absolutely no idea what women want. They think women want to learn to control jealousy by having to share one man. They think they should learn humility by having the other wives and man talk about their weaknesses and scold their children. I so don't get the mentality that goes with these folks.
DeleteI have a feeling a What Women Want expo in St. George Utah is a world away from a What Women Want expo in Las Vegas. And aren't there a lot of polygamists in St. George? Kody Brown may talk the talk about how Las Vegas has accepted him and his family, but I guess he prefers to forget about that interview he gave to a gossip mag complaining that a neighbor tried to get his wife evicted from the neighborhood. What happened to change that person's feelings, or was it all hype to get his name in the news I wonder.
DeleteOH ANON 7:02 is so right. Years ago I went to the Women's Building at a fair in rural Minnesota and found a bunch of canning stuff and spinning wheels. WTF? I'd been expecting to find stuff like self defense techniques. lmao.
DeleteI really hope Utah arrests these fools. Then they'll know what "bullying" is when you admit to being a felon on TV. Come on Utah! Enforce your own laws!
ReplyDeleteDo we really know for sure that Sister Wives is coming back in November? I haven't seen one Promo and I watch a lot of TLC. Anyone?
ReplyDeleteCPA - They keep responding to people who keep asking them about the show by saying "ask TLC". Weird ... Especially considering how soon Honey Boo Boo family announced they'd be coming back on. HBB announced it themselves for all the world, with TLC's approval I'm sure. Apparently Kody and team don't have the approval to proceed ... I, too, wonder why.
DeleteAlso, I think they are moving back to Utah. I think the Vegas move was for the show only.
I hope they do come back but who knows. Why would they have them come back on election night? I just finished watching season 1 on Netflix and I miss the old Browns. Before they were famous, they were natural and somewhat likeable. hey were slimmer and healthier in both body and mind. Ever since they moved to Vegas they are very pretentious and unlikeable. We aren't getting a true representation of polygamy now that they all live in separate houses. I have a feeling they might not be back. If they do they should just rename it the Kody Brown Show because that is all I see when I watch it now.
DeleteIt was always the Kody Brown Show. That guy ruins everything he touches, and they live so much above their means. Even on HBB, the mama knows that the show is about HBB, not the mama. Kody hasn't figured out he isn't "one of the girls" and is a fool on top of it. Can someone tell me why Kody hates working as much as he does? The daddy on HBB has a job, why doesn't Kody? Is it because he thinks he is too good to work?
DeleteI just saw a promo for "Little People" and that airs on Nov. 13th, so I would think if "Sister Wives" was coming back on Nov. 11th they would be advertising it already...doncha think?
DeleteI do not think the show is going to air again and I think that is what's up with all the trips to UT. I would bet they're going to be moving back to UT because they didn't get their 4 McMansions.
DeleteNot only that, without TLC money how will they afford the 4 homes in Vegas? Time to move....
That would kind of explain all the trips, including Kody's, back to Utah.
DeleteHouse-hunting maybe? But if they do move back to Utah, that will suck for their kids - it seems they really are enjoying Vegas finally.
Maybe Meri is moving back to Utah without "lover" when Mariah goes to college. Her sister is supposed to be living in their home, can always make room for 2 more.
DeleteI'm guessing the big "Decisions" and "changes" that Meri is referring to have to do with the imminent departure of the TLC check that they've become accustomed to. if they're relying on LIV to support their lifestyle (or any lifestyle long term, really) then they are drinking some weird green Kool-Aid for sure.
DeleteAlso - making their LIV hay while the sun shines as it were. building up their MLM downline while they're still "Reality TV celebrities, the Kody Brown Family" before they are cancelled and become "former has-been reality tv family..." So while they have the shine of an official current show on TLC, they are going to use that fame to sign up as many suckers - oops distributors - as they possibly can.
DeleteThe fame of reality TV is so fleeting, I wonder if the Browns are even aware of that. Sure people still kinda follow Kate G, but what is she really doing lately? How about other shows with past contestants who were all over the news/net at one time - Joe Millionare (who wasn't really a millionaire, but very cute), the doofus who was an actual "millionaire" on "Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire" and the "lucky" blonde woman who actually married him on the air; William Hung on American Idol; that overbearing woman on "The Apprentice" who created such a stir (I don't watch the show, but I remember her being all over the news); and on and on.
That's what the Brown family is going to be in less than 10 years - a OH I KIND OF REMEMBER THEM speck on the garbage heap of former reality tee vee stars. It's going to be interesting to see what Kody is doing at that point in time to earn a living. or whatever you want to call what he does... yup.
Election night is November 6th...They are supposedly coming back November 11th...
ReplyDeleteIMHO the show's return isn't tied to the election at all ... it's tied to finding a storyline to go forward with, now that they haven't been able to find a way to get into those 4 new homes even with subprime mortgage lending.
ReplyDeleteSo, trips to Utah? I'm voting with those that are thinking that the Browns are moving back to Utah (and Utah DA already dropped the Utah case, on the record that they won't be arrested for polygamy. Welfare food stamp fraud, that's another situation ....).
Why would they still have cameras in tow just a few days ago if they are not coming back? And that's a real question, because frankly, unless there is a huge shake up (and huge shake up does NOT mean more family meetings about houses that do not exist, businesses that do not exist, threats of prosecution that do not exist, invitro/surrogate babies that do not exist - good grief - this show beats Seinfeld for being a show about nothing) I could care less if it returns. Just curious about cameras still following them around.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the production company would try to sell the show with the new footage to another network. Actually, maybe that's what's going on -- Kody and TLC are in hot negotiation over money. TLC decides to play hardball and stops advertising the 11/11/12 return date. The Browns decide to tell their many fans to ask TLC when the show is coming back to pressure TLC into giving in to their demands.
DeleteCan you imagine Kody and TLC eye to eye...who will blink first?
I think the Browns know they are done, but don't want to mention to their fans, is why they're passing the buck. The production company might be filming just in case they can eke out a special or two.
DeleteI found it interesting that Mariah tweeted that she just sent in her college app to the college she had dreamed of her whole life ....U of U. Now if my memory serves me, last year when Logan and the girls toured a Utah college. Dear ole Dad, called it a hick town school in a hick state. Now number one daughter from number one wife wants to go there... This may be Meri's way to start convincing him and the Family to go back to Utah. We Will See,
ReplyDeleteKody was talking about SUU = Southern Utah University in Cedar City. Totally different school. Mariah frequently has said she wants to leave Las Vegas and go to U of U (University of Utah) for college and live in Utah. It isn't that surprising as Mariah is the one teen who said she wants to have a plural marriage and sister wives. She would be closer to her church.
ReplyDeleteU of U may not be an automatic entry for Mariah. Depends on grades. Also, she's now out of state. Southern Utah would be a good back up school for her, and I think there are plygs around Cedar City.
DeleteI'm glad she's decided to go the college route rather than attempt to go military. While I think the military can be a great option for the right candidates, the requirements have been becoming more strict for entry. The height/weight and physical fitness requirements would be difficult for some of the children to meet (not to be mean about it, just a candid observation).
DeleteWhile I think in the long run there will be some of the Brown children who join the military (if only for GI Bill benefits; I see no other real way to pay for post-secondary education for the entire family), hopefully it is at a time when their "fame" has faded and the kids are under less public scrutiny.
Also, while I agree that both of the ladies look good, I do not see a significant change in Janelle. Rather, I believe that she has learned a flattering angle and way to stand to show her best angles. She should give posture lessons to Meri!
I do agree I think the Brown's are finished on TLC and don't want their fans to know yet. How is Mariah going to pay for an out of state school. We are talking big bucks and room and board as well. She can get financial aide, but I doubt she can get that much. Maybe she is deluted into thinking Daddy will pay?
DeleteThe "What Women Want" show is just a crappy trade show to sell you anything from haircuts to purses. They obviously think the people coming will still
ReplyDeletebe in awe of their "celebrity" status and buy expensive green liquid from them. The comment about moving back to Utah isn't accurate though. They STILL own the Lehi home. They never sold it. It is just being used by relatives. The home has always been the place Mariah and Janelle's oldest daughter will live while they go to College in Utah. The adult Brown's (especially Kody) CANNOT move back until
the CURRENT lawsuit is resolved. He has claimed in the papers he cannot move back to Utah without fear of prosecution. Despite the Utah County Attorney's promise not to prosecute, he has to keep up the appearance of fear until the case is settled. He now feels safe to travel to Utah but his court case would be thrown out if he officially moves back.
I guess I could see Kody playing a pay negotiation game with TLC. Of course, I don’t really see TLC caving on that one. And that would explain the mysterious “ask TLC” when they are coming back. TLC may just be following around taping them just in case they decide to use the footage for the show (or not). I think Kody is over estimating what he is worth to TLC. They have new reality shows coming out all the time…if it’s run its course, then TLC moves on to the next lifestyle to showcase. That’s basically what happened with the Gypsy Wedding show….they said they didn’t think there was that much more to explore and they started featuring other shows.
ReplyDeleteIt would make logical sense that they are moving back to Utah. I know they just love Las Vegas and all of its diversity, but the reality is that they have a plyg house in Utah, have family and a church community there and they may have traveled to their Plymouth Rock but they haven’t done anything with their opportunities. It’s their fault – they are not being discriminated against….but people that have 4 large houses and 17 kids need a LOT of money. This means they have to work very hard and also get some luck along the way…and even then they might be lucky to live in 4 doublewides on a piece of land (which is fine, not knocking trailers…. people do just fine in them and they can be very nice). The Browns are NOT working hard...they are trying to get easy money w/o buiding any sort of a foundation. Selling LIV is not going to support them, nor is their jewelry. Kody needs to go out and get a job...a real one with benefits. (of course, he may not qualify for anything, his skills aren't very defined). And really at least two of the wives need to go get work as well. Even administrative assistants get benefits and decent pay....hey, do what you need to and take care of your family.
I would imagine in 3-5 years, the Brown family will be a cautionary tale. The kids will be uprooted again, after having finally adjusted. Having 10 or so adolescents is very different than having 10 little kids that will go with the flow. The kids are at the worst age for all of this. The ‘famous-ness’ will wear off and they will be back on government assistance. I also think that in 3-5 years, there will be at least one wife who leaves, possibly two. I don’t see the four wives sticking around for the longer haul.
I guess the bottom line to me is that they really aren't that interesting anymore.
DeleteYou are so right CPA Carol, J.O.B is exactly what Kody needs!
DeleteI remember how bland he was receiving the birthday computer...remember he said he considers it a tool and that it means his wives think he should go to work? I'm paraphasing but the whole disappointment over the computer was because he equated it to a job.
The only tool in the scene was Kody.
The "Bargaining chip" with TLC theory is interesting, until one wonders exactly WHICH other network - with a fatter pocketbook than lil ol TLC - would want the Browns. As Anon 2:06 PM said, they just aren't that interesting anymore - at least not the stuff that they choose to air on their show.
DeleteTo be able to bargain, Kody has to have something that TLC wants enough to shell out the buckaroos, and another network expressing an interest in them. Let's face it, TLC has become the Trashy Reality Network, and no one does it quite like they do. What other small cable networks would want the Browns? WE Network? Oxygen? Lifetime? All of which are more into women's empowerment - not a male-dominated family like the Browns. Plus the Browns' story has already been pretty much told. now all there is, is the kids getting older, Kody making more kids, the very small possibility of an additional wife...more sadness amongst the wives...etc ad nauseum.
My theory - SW WAS going to premiere on Sunday 11 November, in its usual sweet prime time spot. But then...TLC took a look at its other shows which are doing BETTER and might pull better ratings in that time slot - yup including but not limited to HBB. now they're rethinking about whether they even want to KEEP SW going or pull the plug. it's all about dollars and cents. and they just might have some other shows that might do better ready to go. guess we shall see!
One more thing...traditionally right around this time (a couple - 3 weeks prior to premiere) the episodes from the previous season would be available on OnDemand. (Comcast). Guess what - nowhere to be found. nope, nada.
DeleteWhat other small cable networks would want the Browns?
DeleteThere's one other network - CMT !! You know, the network that's home to Redneck Rehab, DCC:Making the team, Bayou Billionaires. I think Sister Wives would fit right in.
OK, maybe LOGO too.
Hm I forgot about those networks, isn't CMT more of a country feel? At any rate, does Figure 8 Films work with other networks? I think all their shows have been on TLC - maybe they have an exclusive...?
DeleteEven if there are other networks where SW would possibly "fit in", IMO they are at the end of their shelf life or pretty darn close to it. I'm wondering how TLC actually pays the family/producers - whether payment is made prior to filming or upon delivery of the episodes, subject to review by TLC powers that be? If the latter, perhaps the quality of the shows was so utterly low, TLC made a lowball offer, and the producers turned it down or are trying to get more $$ - therefore the ads and promos were pulled.
For all I/we know, the Browns might have already gotten paid for the unaired shows by the production company, and now the production company is in negotiations with TLC to up the ante.
I don't watch TLC that often, but turned it on for about an hour or so last night (during prime time) just in the background, then rewound using my DVR, to see if any promo spots for the show popped up. Nope, nada, nothing. it's almost as if the show doesn't exist...
I'm guessing if it *does* air, the date will be rolled back to January 2013...gotta save the holiday airtime for the big shows like HBB and Extreme Couponing...yup.
Yep, Kody really didn't like that expensive computer and Robyn knew he wouldn't like it but kept it from her 3 other sisterwives in order to make brownie points with Kody. You know, soulmates and all that. Anyway, Kody was happy like a pig in you know what when he got that gun so maybe the country music channel is where the show should go. Kody can dream he's a Bayou billionaire while drooling over the Dallas Cheerleaders for his next wife or two.
DeleteJanelle Tweeted this on Wednesday afternoon:
ReplyDeleteHey everyone. Please refer to TLC for any news and information on our show.
CPA Carol...
DeleteJanelle Tweeted this on Wednesday afternoon:
Well, at least there's ONE Brown adult that's thinking about the fans wanting to know, but there's still nothing but crickets (and one really weird chain letter) on the TLC facebook fanpage, and the family pages run by friends on facebook looks like it has been abandoned by the family AND the admins...
So unless a fan is following Janelle on Twitter, they won't get this cryptic message. It's their show but fans have to contact TLC for news and information???? And Janelle, thank you for not including a email or snail mail address for TLC to make it easier for fans to beg TLC to bring your show back!
Isn't it strange that Baby Hoo Ha not only announces their return date, but filming dates and that there will be 3 holiday specials on her facebook fanpage. By the way, in comparison to the two TWO (2) Brown family run by friends facebook fan pages, HBB's has a 100 times more activity.
So what gives? Why have the Brown's abandoned their fans?
So I am seeing that there is a nationwide cause that calls for wearing PURPLE SHIRTS....
ReplyDeleteAnd Kody is not wearing one of his?
The end times must be upon us.
LOL, good point! Maybe he realized looking like The Grimace isn't super flattering, especially when one has a potbelly like his.
DeleteLol...Oh trust me, he is wearing THAT purple shirt. A twitter follower, tweeted a pic of him & Kody, & caption read something like, the 2 Ladies Men,etc.....I just about gagged!! But yeah, he's wearing it!! O_o
DeleteThe four lots in process of build are listed on tmi Realty website...fact sheet states that there status is "Pending Sale"
ReplyDeleteFor right now it appears no sale has gone through.
I wonder what Kody's excuse is this time? he wiggled out of the last deal cuz he said one house sold...but all four lots are listed for sale still.
Perhaps this is why Meri isn't excited for the holidays, not even a little.
The four lots in process of build are listed on tmi Realty website
DeleteBeing that tmi realty has been associated with the Browns and the move to Vegas, I'm wondering if the Browns were hoping their fans would buy the houses for them. Weren't there a couple of fans that were willing to buy them homes?
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if the Brown's bought the lots and then couldn't afford them. The TMI realty firm could be representing the Brown's in selling off the lots they bought. We all know TLC is leaving the building. The lots were too expensive for the non working women and man.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I think happened after the scene of the wives writing their $5k (x 4) "earnest money" checks to good ol' Mona at Too Much Info Realty...
Delete*wives write checks while Kody or Janelle - forgot which - explained that each one of the wives is putting down a $5k cash deposit to hold the lots for 30 days while they get the rest of the money, and hand the checks over to Mona or whomever*
Director: Cut! That's a wrap.
Mona: Whew! That was fun. here you go. *hands the checks back to Kody, who pockets them or rips them up*
Kody: That should be a great cliffhanger to keep us going for another season or two. Keep it quiet, will ya?
Mona: Sure. By the way, your landlord called asking when to expect this month's rental payment...
I don’t think there is any bidding war. I believe TLC has either decided there isn’t much more they show of the lifestyle that is interesting or that there is something more serious going on. I think it’s possible that something negative happened, either something with the wives or the kids and TLC just wants to be done with the whole mess. I don’t usually think of networks really caring about their reality show subjects, but if something happened with one of the kids, TLC could be sued by the kids (i.e. the older ones when they become Legal) or maybe someone like Robyn’s ex is objecting to the show. Something is going on….I think if it were a $$ thing, it would be covered somewhere like radaronline….but if the producers are seeing behavior that is troubling (suicidal or abused wife or kid), they might confer with legal counsel and change course. I know there are readers of SWB that disagree but I believe that Kody potentially physically abusive (and definitely emotionally abusive). That can lead to serious depression with the wives and the kids….and we all know how they ‘treated’ Hunter when he was angry/depressed about the move…we don’t know what drama might be playing out that should be handled by the authorities/doctors.
ReplyDeleteIt could simply be that TLC looked at the footage and said well, we've done as much as we can and this is just repeating itself, time to end it.
DeleteI would bet that Logan (since he's moved on campus) opted OUT of being featured on a show ep of him going to college etc. He's always seemed pretty level-headed and above all this show stuff, now that he's an adult he can opt to step back if he wants to. again, the fact that he's apparently passed on Kody's "generous" offer to have him live at home and instead live in a dorm or student housing says VOLUMES. Smart young man.
I don't think Kody is "abusive" per se, as much as egotistical, narcissitic, and completely uncaring/thoughtless of his wives' feelings for the most part. Lord knows he's proven it time and again.
And perhaps. just maybe - TLC has a problem with the MLM connection. They've not really mentioned it on TV, other than a "company car with Kody's marketing job" and MLMs in general have such seedy reputations...I just don't see TLC doing a show on a Day in the Life of Kody At Work on his MLM "business" at any point. I just flashed on the Penn & Teller Showtime documentary on MLMs - the part where the "distributor" is trying to talk some guy into becoming a distributor under him for (yup) another mystery miracle drink (the one featured was allegedly endorsed by Deepak Chopra - cut to Penn saying "I hate that *$%*$##!!" (LOL!)
nope so much for that storyline. at least with the Duggars, the show can get tons of mileage out of the oldest son running his overpriced used car business and so on (only watched a couple of their shows, so...) what's left to show of the life at Chez Browns? they wake up, make breakfast, kids go to school or whatever, they clean house, since they don't work what else is there to do...? Make another batch of PB Fritos and Mock Tapioca and sit in front of the TV? or go have some free guacamole at their "friend's" Mexican restaurant? (BTW no tweets about them lately I suppose...?)
TLC snoozefest...yup
Just a thought. I happened upon some info on MSN's homepage today and the title of the article was "Reality Tv's Richest Families" (and of course Sister Wives were no where on this list..LOL) Now they were quick to point out that salaries posted are unconfirmed since networks are pretty tight lipped on this..BUT, I wouldn't doubt they are ballpark and even the ones that make really good money (like Pawn Stars), if you think about how many episode SW does per season and the way they are blowing through money, I doubt they could sustain 4 nice homes on reality tv salary. Not without having something going for them already...I hope they don't sign any real estate agreements because I doubt in a year from now if they can even afford the property taxes.....which brings me to the Duggers.. I never watched the Dugger family but was impressed reading that they were already self-sufficient BEFORE the show...They also have a "successful" real estate business...This isn't some little MLM scam and rip-off jewelry but sounds like something they have worked very hard to build.
ReplyDeleteMy mind wandered thinking the same thing others have mentioned, that maybe they are trying to negotiate for more especially thinking that these other folks get paid so much. But what do they have to offer? Very interesting post, Dakota Justice. Where is their bargaining chip? They don't have one...I think this one may have bit them in the rear.
Wow....
ReplyDeleteMariah posted this on Twitter: "money is not the most important but it's right up there with air" #mymother #lolz 😂
Then Kody tweeted: "@mariahlian: "money is not the most important but it's right up there with air" #mymother #lolz 😂" My Meri! Great line.
We have realized that the Brown family is greedy, but this blatantly shows their greed. Their MLM green drink scam makes me mad. They don't care who they hurt if they can make a buck. Karma is a (w)itch and will catch up with them. It possibly already has, because it seems like the show isn't coming back....
Did you see the picture Mariah posted? Looks like she's applying for BYU??? and it has a section that asks if you are a plyg. To be fair it also asked if you were a convicted felon but why would she waste her time with BYU??? I always thought BYU was very selective. I wonder if she applied to Annapolis too, like she wanted in the first season. Yes the Browns are greedy but that was shown by the outrageous prices they placed on that silver plated mess they call jewelry.
Deleteanon--i'm sure she will say -no- to the plyg question.
DeleteIn an earlier episode (still in UT)m she and Maddie were talking and Mariah copped an attitude that she was not plyg because she isn't married yet (and thus not officially a plural wife).
Whether or not BYU will see her response as a lie will be interesting.
She marked yes.
DeleteAnon @ 6:50 it would take a MIRACLE for Mariah to be accepted into Annapolis, let alone even meet basic "joe" enlistment requirements. (My DH is a recruiter and has to turn down a lot of good kids for pretty minor reasons, including weight, acne, any history of seeing a therapist, past history of asthma, etc.). Entry into any of the military academies requires stellar SAT scores, amazing GPA, community service, in amazing physical shape, letter of recommendation from a state senator (not sure if this is still true actually) . . . but basically one has to be Captain America, and even then, good luck!
DeleteShe said no to having been convicted of any crimes, ect. She marked yes to being affiliated to a religious group that advocates and practices modern day plural marriage
DeleteNow that's irony right there bellarina....I thought Polygamy was illegal & considered a crime??....Lol But obviously, Polygamists think they're above the law & think that rules/laws dont' & shouldn't apply to them. Of course it doesn't help when states like Utah & Arizona just overlook the illegal lifestyle & let them continue to bleed the beast. Welfare & Tax fraud too...smh Ugghhhh!! I really can't stand grifters like the Browns >_<
DeleteMariah hasn't commited a crime because she hasn't entered into a plural marriage yet!
DeleteMaybe not just yet, but by the X in the marked box: Being affiliated to a religious group that ADVOCATES & PRACTICES moodern day plural marriage......She's well on her way to breaking the law by practicing polygamy, which is still ILLEGAL!!!!!!
DeleteI honestly feel if people want to freely live this lifestyle, then they should move to another country where polygamy is legal & accepted!!
I find it difficult to believe that Acne could be the reason why an otherwise qualified candidate would be turned down entrance to the US Naval Academy.
DeleteHere is a more official description of the admissions process. There is a section on medical wavers.

Oh come on! She's not "on her way" to being a felon, she's just a kid whose irresponsible parents put her on TV to show off their felonious lifestyle. The thing about college is it changes your world, and what a 17 year old says about marriage is not exactly a done deal (assuming you aren't married off at 17 :/).
DeleteIf BYU discriminates against groups like the AUB (do they?), seems like their public face, the Browns, would be an easy reject. Poor girl, paying for the sins of her childish father.
Yeah it's not like Mariah has done anything wrong, she herself is not a polygamist. She is just the child of polygamists. But I agree Go Goji, she is not on her way to becoming a felon just because she is AUB. Although she is the only Brown kid to say outright that she wants to be a polygamist. But her siblings are AUB and most of them have said that polygamy is not for them.
Delete@ Carmel Brownie- I am a second wife but I live in a state that does not have laws on the books concerning common law marriage, adultery, fornication or cohabitation. So how could my state call us out on being polygamists when legally I'm nothing more than a live in girlfriend, and that's perfectly legal. The Browns moving to Las Vegas made it harder for them to be charged for polygamy. But I have always wondered why they didn't just move to a state (there are only a handful) where it's pretty much impossible for them to be charged for polygamy. Polygamy is a felony or misdemeanor in all 50 states but how can you charge someone for polygamy when you can't claim that they are illegally cohabitating, commiting adultery or fornication or holding themselves out to be married in a state that doesn't recognize common law marriage. If you can't legally consider the "wives" to be anything more than girlfriends, then how is that really polygamy?
Delete@ Paw Print . . . While it is true that medical waivers ARE available, they can be lengthy to obtain or process depending on the problem. The academies are more likely to accept candidates without waivers simply because they are easier to process and put a better ."face" (no pun intended) on the officer corps. On paper it doesn't work that way but everyone in the military knows they are selective as hell . . . And YES acne can be a disqualifier. DH has had to turn away at least 2 with severe cystic acne. Anyway not to derail, just don't like anyone to think I am making up facts or lying. :(
DeleteI don't know. I might be old-fashioned but I can barely justify in my mind relgious based polygamy. Non religious based polygamy seems to be a player with a bunch of baby mamas on the side. It's my opinion that women claiming they are 'sisterwives' are just women in a state of denial about what their real status is...basically, being in a relationship with a man in the center and baby mommas strewn out around town calling their lover's other partners 'sisterwives'. That went out with the summer of love in the 60's.
DeleteRegardless what u wanna call it, Polygamy is illegal in the United States. Also, how the polygamist depends on the govt to support their lifestyle is fraud & so is all their "creative" accounting during tax season.
DeleteI stand by what I said about Mariah on her way becoming a felon too. B/c regardless how you want to look at the polygamy lifestyle, it's ILLEGAL in the U.S & so is defrauding the govt!! But we all have our own opinions & beliefs, so I can agree to disagree...
As far as being a live in girlfriend, big deal b/c Hugh Hefner had 3 but the difference there is that he was providing for them 100%. He wasn't trying to make them all his "wives" & get them pregnant just so they can go on public assistance to support their lifestyle.
Do you really think that all polygamists are on welfare and defrauding the government? Because that is false and highly insulting to all the plural families who support themselves and pay taxes. Also, most plural families have an average of 6 or 7 kids, which is far more financially affordable than 17. It's also just more responsible. I happen to find it rather ridiculous and reprehensible that families like the Browns continued to have kids despite being on welfare for many years. It's wrong for any family, plural or otherwise, to purposefully continue having children that they can't support and expect the government to pay for them. That's not the intended use of welfare.
DeleteNon religion based polygamy doesn't have to be like the 60's and Free Love! haha. But polyamory itself is not technically illegal but polyamorists in some states may be breaking laws by commiting adultery or cohabitation. I call myself my "husbands" wife and that's what we hold ourselves out to be in public, but legally we are doing nothing wrong in our state because I'm nothing more than a live in girlfriend. But I'm certainly not in a state of denial haha, we had a "wedding" and the three of us live together and act as a family and raise our 6 kids together. It's definitely not a free love situation where my husband can roam around town sleeping with any girl he wants. But we pay our taxes (I file as single since legally I am) and we certainly are not defrauding the government. We chose as consenting adults to live this lifestyle and we don't expect anyone else to help us support it.
You can't ignore that there are a lot of polygamous families that are on welfare and/or actively defrauding the government. The polygamist's call it "bleeding the beast". And women shouldn't have to call themselves their a man's "girlfriend". We (at least I do, and my married friends do) have more self-respect. There's no way I would settle for a man who can't make a commitment to just one woman, religious or not. Non-religious polygamy is just a man having sex with several women who lack the self-esteem to demand better for themselves. At least the religious polygamists claim they are doing it to reach perfection.
DeleteThere really sin;t much to go on anymore What are they going to talk about? how Meri couldn't have 15 kids and how he was disgusted by Christine? its the same rhetoric over and over, its very boring just like the Browns! I just watched the one where Christine in Labor and they way he talked about fertility treatment with the OBGYN (the dr was freaked out by that) and how he kissed Robyn when his other wife was having his spawn was DISGUSTING. How can they have any fans after that? Shows how dumb most people are. Can you imagine giving a selfish man 6 kids then he discarding you for the younger woman AND admitting in front of millions that he finds you repulsive? I'm surprised she isn't suicidal, it really is a sick, sad show. Glad it won't be back!!!
ReplyDeleteJust saw the new season for SW on tlc. All, I have to say i was wrong about them being at the end and miserable. The new season has even more drama and sadness then before. They have reached a whole new low
ReplyDeleteOMG! So, guess it IS coming back? Rumor now has it it's on Nov 18th?!
ReplyDeletebirdwoman, what did they show? What is soo sad and low?
