Now, if only we get one of our intrepid photographers to stealthily confirm with some new photos.
AND
This just in...The Brown's attorney has filed new papers today (August 31 2012) asking a judge to declare Utah's law against polygamy violates the 1st and 14th Amendments and is unlawful. Read the article here: http://fox13now.com/2012/08/31/sister-wives-ask-judge-to-rule-bigamy-unlawful/
Update 9/1/12
After an almost 3 month absence, I've heard Robyn posted on the "friend only" fanpage thanking fans for buying their book (keeping more interesting books off the New York Times Best Seller for 4 weeks), for buying their over-priced jewelry and promising to "post on here more often". As a peace offering, she apparently included a new picture of Super Baby Sol.
Let's see. Lourdes writes about the sisterwives ignoring their fanpage on 8/25/12 and Robyn posts on 9/1/12 with a picture of Sol... Hmmm.....
And also in the things that make you go Hmmmm department.....Robyn is now hawking the services of a local delivery company on twitter!
I found the coolest business! It is called Anything U Want Delivery. They deliver ANYTHING!You want a lunchable at 1 am?U got it!@auwd
— Robyn Sullivan Brown (@LuvgvsUwngs) September 1, 2012
How wonderful to help out a local business owner who also happens to be listed as the "go to" person for bookings on the Brown family website! For many, many months. That's just how the Browns roll, I guess.
Happy Labor Day everybody!
Update 9/4/12
It's Official! TLC has announced on the TLC Sister Wives Facebook fanpage that the show resumes on Sunday, 11/11/12.
If only they could have waited a month so it would be 12/12/12. But wait. TLC is promising that the show "returns with more shakeups and surprises" ! I wonder what that's all about?
Update 9/11/12
Hey, what's happening with the Kody Brown family website? That ole " The website you were trying to reach is temporarily unavailable" advisory is up....again.
Let me see, wasn't it around June 9th when the same message appeared; that was approximately 3 months ago. Hmmmm....interesting. At least Sister Wife's Closet hasn't been affected!
Please continue your conversation on this next discussion page: http://sisterwivesblog.blogspot.com/2012/09/more-odds-and-ends.html
I check the Clark county property taxes daily ...there is not any property in any of the brown's names ....Sullivan ...or otherwise.
ReplyDeleteInteresting ! Perhaps they are filing under a company name?
DeleteI have tried every possible Name I could think of.. I wish i had an address....
DeletePlease keep us posted on what you find out about these houses. I can't imagine they qualify for 4 mortgages. If anyone gets any information please pass that along.
DeleteAlso, when does their original lease run out on their rental houses?
Thanks to all.
2004aumom - whether their original leases have run out or not is a moot point. My guess is that there is a surplus of rentals in LV just as there is a surplus of foreclosed houses on the market there. The landlords aren't going to throw out the Browns as long as they pay their rent - they will either renew the lease or go to a month-to-month lease.
DeleteI think the leases are very important. First there's the wife who was the target of a get them out of there campaign by neighbors. Next, there's the obvious damage being done that is beyond normal wear and tear like Janelle's chair damaged walls and the broken door molding on Christine's door. And I remember seeing very briefly during the above ground pool party that Christine had stashed a mattress on the side of her house! Not to mention carpets so filthy it clearly shows when the camera pans down to the floor. I think at least 2 landlords can't wait for the leases to end and I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't already notified the Browns their leases would not be renewed! I think that's the motivator for the move into 4 seperate houses.
DeleteThe Browns originally signed 18-month leases (they mention it in one episode). Based on their move at the end of January and one month in the vacation rental, their leases would likely be up in August/ September... so, now. :-)
DeleteI dunno, true there is a broken door, filthy carpets etc. we don't know how old the carpets are and that would be considered normal wear and tear. From personal experience, I know that cheap rental dwelling carpets don't stand up long to foot traffic. We don't know HOW the broken door and chair damaged walls occurred - might have already been that way. Just because some neighbors allegedly campaign for their outage, doesn't give the landlords ground to kick them out. In fact I could smell a lawsuit for sure if that happened. At any rate, if the landlords do opt to evict the Browns from any of their houses, they will be left with a home that needs to be cleaned up, repainted and then re-rented - at least they are collecting rent now. It might sit on the market for months before it gets rented again, that means no income coming in for the landlord while they still have property taxes and perhaps a mortgage to pay on the property.
DeleteI think the Browns were always looking to buy homes in LV, and the rentals were meant as a temporary situation - remember when they first moved to LV, they were frantically trying to qualify for home loans with absolutely no success?
I've lived in rentals all my adult life, and trust me I have seen WAY worse than the Browns, and the renters aren't evicted. As long as they pay their rent on time and don't burn the place down or cook meth or get called by the Health Department, I think the landlord can forgive a matress being temporarily stored in the backyard until they find someone that can take it away to the dump. Our garbage collection service has a "big trash day" every so often in which people can put stuff like mattresses, old TVs, and other things that normally wouldn't go into the regular trash out on the sidewalk to be hauled away at no additional charge, perhaps Christine was waiting for that day to come.
I think the property was bought by someone else when the Browns couldn't come up with the rest of the the money.
ReplyDeleteI know this is a long shot, but do you think that the lots could have been purchased by the show's production company? TLC or whoever will own the land/property and the Brown's will just live there until filming is done?
If they were truly concerned about living together (I think the kids want it more than the wives). They could A) move back to Utah, B)Move to Wyoming or C) Don't go to Disneyland every other weekend, save money and put it toward building a multi-level (3 or four story) structure. Each wife gets a floor for herself and her kids. Each wife would have their own separate entrance.
I agree with SheilaAnn. And NO - TLC (actually Figure 8 Films) will NOT be purchasing any houses for the Browns. They aren't a real estate company. They didn't buy a house for the Duggars, or Jon and Kate either...what makes the Browns so special that they would be entitled to four new houses??
DeleteIf the houses end up being in fact the Browns' houses, I would be AMAZED.
I think it's very likely that TLC will have at least a hand in paying for the Browns' houses.
DeleteI used to be convinced that there would be a grand building project of a 4-lot polygamist compound for them, much like the Duggars' building of their new house, except funded by TLC, to take up a whole season or two. Still think it could happen.
(I still wonder why they aren't building one big house on those four lots, since they've always claimed that's what they wanted...is it a zoning problem or what??)
P.S., as for why the Duggars and Jon+Kate didn't get a house bought for them, and the Sister Wives would...the Sister Wives' show is much more successful, especially than the Duggars'.
I doubt very seriously TLC,or any cable TV network would fund a new house for its reality "talent" to live in. TLC may throw in cash to the production company to spruce up the house, I can even see maybe even kicking in a few dollars to help pay rent on a nicer place while filming(like that Christmas Mcmansion). But purchasing a new home? There's no way they would approve of that. Think of the precedent that would cause - TLC would be bankrupt in a very short period of time if they had to provide every "successful" new talent a new home. The only hand I could see TLC(again through the production company) having a part in was the hiring of Mona the Real Estate Lady.
DeleteAnd as far as Sister Wives being more successful than the Duggars, for example - I would think a "successful" show would have ONE continuous season with more than 12 HALF hour shows. A successful show doesn't have a season lasting only 6 weeks at its supposed height of popularity (book release) before going on hiatus. A struggling show with a spotty track record and declining viewership -- yes. Face it, the show is based in one of the entertainment capitals of the world and the best they could muster was a cowboy bar, zipline, a nighttime dinner cruise, crazy golf, and a gun range for storylines?
When I bought a a new house a few years ago, I put earnest money down to reserve it, but until the house was completed and the sale was closed, the property remained in the name of the developer.
ReplyDeleteYou are assuming the tax/registery of deeds is up to date with the listing. I know where I live it could take months for a sale to show up with the current owner's name.
ReplyDeleteWhen they first relocated to Vegas and renting four homes,
ReplyDeleteI wondered why they didn't try or maybe they did alternate housing option,to locate a small apartment building/complex to house and keep the families together.
I agree, buying 4 homes is just plain silly. There is no way that they keep up paying for that many homes for very long. I am pretty sure that TLC will be dumping them pretty soon, and then what??
DeleteI guess thats a dumb question, they can go bankrupt of course. I wonder if there are any laws as to often a person can get away with that.
Not only would that be 'ghetto,' but bedrooms in apartment buildings have sun shining in them.
DeleteThat's how I see it. They aren't going o get any special treatment cos they're on tv - they have to qualify same as everyone else.
DeleteLet's see -several recent bankruptcies. No steady income. "working" on some shady MLM. Getting a paycheck for a reality tv show with no guarantee of renewal. Four basically non working adults and 21 dependents. No savings according to Janelle (season 3 after the move to LV - I doubt they've replenished their financial resources. Especially since they spend so much $$ traveling to their marketing meetings. Gas, motel, meeting facilities (even at a frozen yogurt shop they'll be expected to buy froyo for their prospecitive victims...suckers...whatevs. I really *really* can't fathom signing up largely because some people on tv are promoting the overpriced BS green drink.
What type of financial institution would give them a loan?? I can't fathom. There is still a glut of unsold/foreclosed houses on the market in LV. Yup, there's a certain percentage that are crapboxes, but still a glut combined with unemployment. Why would a bank loan to them even for 50% of the total amount??
There are definate Laws as to how often you can file for BK.. depending if it is a chapter 13 or 11. ( its all over the news here in Vegas all the time).
DeleteSomeone asked about a apt. building..... you would have to understand the layout of Vegas... it would be nearly impossible to find such a thing,
So Sad.. i never assume anything.....The Assesor's office of Clark County is very good at keeping its records updated all the time.
To be truthful with you all, it is EASIER for them to buy a house with the BK"s then all the deliquent bills on their credit.
Just some thoughts...
Pollyanna, why are you so convinced that TLC will be dumping them soon? The show is wildly successful at the moment.
DeletePollyanna, why are you so convinced that TLC will be dumping them soon? The show is wildly successful at the moment.
DeleteNothing lasts forever...and it seems that Baby hoo ha show is the newest flavor of the month on TLC right now.
That's interesting about Robin's tweet promoting that business. Why not be upfront about your relationship with the owner? It lacks integrity. And I think more fans would be likely to click over to support a friend of the family than some random Robin dug up.
ReplyDeleteRe: the update in the "Hmmmm department" about Sobbing Robbin making an appearance on the "friend only" fanpage after such a long hiatus says *once again*...that SWB has *impact*.
ReplyDeleteYet another clear indication that KodyWorld pays close attention to SWB !!
It also suggest that business must be leveling off on book sales and is likely winding down on their junk jewelry too.
Sobbing Robbin's hawking of that company only shows how indulged they all live if they are using that kind of service.
Too lazy (or famous) now to even make their own reservations, purchases, etc ???
They now need a concierge service that delivers....??? Pathetic....!!
No wonder Mariah has become a budding diva in the making.
As for their lawyers filing new papers against Utah....shrug...just another ploy to keep their names front and center. Must be scary for them to know that their sell-by-date is fast approaching.
There was a delivery service such as that in San Diego, CA when I lived there a long time ago. I LOVED IT!!!! Once I forgot to pick up a housewarming gift, and while getting dressed I jumped on the computer and made an order for something (a plant and a fun board game). It arrived before I finished getting dressed. Another time at 3 am had such a craving for Ben & Jerry's (but couldn't go out to get it because of sleeping children) and it arrived in less than 30 minutes - with warm chocolate chip cookies!!!! It was so decadent but AMAZING!!!
DeleteI would bet the Dargers as well as the Browns read this blog. I had made a comment here about something and I had also asked a questioned related to the opinion in my comment and I was completely ignored. It was a valid question regarding Heaven and not taking care of your family as the Bible states that men who do not provide for their family are worse than non believers. My name is Lois. Here I am Loissilly and there Lois. Coincidence maybe...or maybe not. I was completely respectful in my question and it is an interesting one to answer.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I know this is pretty nit-picky, but who gets a freaking LUNCHABLE delivered? Not only are they poor quality (those little circles of meat . . . ugh), but they are so expensive for what they are! Who the hell is too lazy to prepare their own damn crackers and cheese?
ReplyDeleteNo wonder everyone in that family is gaining weight. Lunchables at 1am, stress eating much?
Haha - I thought she was just using an expression and didn't mean it literally - however after googling the business - yup...
Deletehahaha I was going to post the exact same thing!!I have a feeling Robin and the other ladies consider cooking opening up lunchables!
DeleteI kind of thought the lunchable reference was to show you could order something as small as a lunchable. It may have been better to say, you can order anything you want, even if its only a pack of gum. ***I wonder if that service could do all my coupon shopping for me!!!!!!
DeleteThey say there's no problem with polygamy and want it legalized. I say there is a big problem. There are so many laws to untangle and reformulate it boggles the mind. Very quickly the people practicing polygamy with the intent of procreating use up the available women, leaving the men with nobody. They become excess baggage and must go. It happens fast. Look at Colorado City. For the rest of us, we get to pay for the mess, pay to do something with their cast off boys, and if the man dies and leaves 30 kids or becomes "disabled", we get to pay social security for each of his kids. Way to bankruptcy for the whole system. Oh no, there is a problem, and it hurts a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteA lunchable......there's our next charm in the frito/boxing gloves/calculated SWb version of the jewelry!
DeleteI have to say, I really miss Sister Wives. I don't watch much reality TV, but I love this show. I love the kids, and Christine and Janelle, and I like Robyn too. Kody and Meri cause this family a lot of harm, which I think is sad because with all the love between the 19 others, there is the potential for an easier, happier life, if those two could only get their priorities right.
ReplyDeleteI must not be watching the same Sister Wives.
DeleteI consider myself open minded but after watching the show it's quite a stretch to call the Brown's one big happy family. Or to say that kody and Merri just have their priorities jumbled. Kody is openly mean and cruel to Christine, uses Janelle for her degree, "loves" Merri because she encourages his peter Pan dreams, and ignores his wives for Robyn and her children. Oh, and his other children BEG for attention they don't get because he's too busy with the fave or the other wives. That's not a happy family. We all have our family dysfunctions but I know my husband doesn't tell me how nasty I am and that he almost didn't marry me because of a nacho situation and he surely doesn't neglect our emotional needs---our two children or mine. The women at least chose to be in that marriage but their children did not. They deserve all the love and care they need.
Delete^^^ What Anon 9:38 AM said! amen.
DeleteI am convinced that there is NO WAY one man can be a true father to that many children. It is nothing less than patently unfair to everyone in this situation other than Kody himself of course. To me, a twisted religion. or religion as an excuse for him to power trip. I don't think it's just about sex. It's totally about power and wanting a lot of attention, which is Kody's deal IMO. I would not be happy living like that, at all. I'm a jealous woman. :(
Anon 9:38am - I never did call them "one big happy family".
DeleteWhat I mean by priorities is that Meri openly bullies the other wives, and gives her daughter preferential treatment, thereby causing hurt to everyone else. She is very manipulative, selfish and clearly depressed, and what she can get for herself is clearly her only priority. Kody is just a barrel of chauvinism and vanity, and he focuses on his own desires and shows preferential treatment to Meri because she fuels his desire to keep adding more wives to his brood. His three other wives and children are not his priority either (I think the shine has begun to wear off Robyn, and it's only a matter of time before she stops having children and loses her appeal too).
Having said that, I think the children love each other and are very close friends, and I think they love their parents, despite all the drama and heartache the move to Las Vega has caused them, and the unrest they witness in their household(s). And Christine and Janelle clearly love their kids; Meri loves Mariah, whatever else you can say about her; and Robyn loves her children too. Just because the parents make terrible decisions, it doesn't mean there is no love in this family. It is not as simply black and white as to be able to say, "they are selfish, therefore they only love themselves and not their children". They are clearly misguided, and I don't think polygamy is a healthy choice for the Browns. But the mothers most certainly love their children.
"For the rest of us, we get to pay for the mess, pay to do something with their cast off boys, and if the man dies and leaves 30 kids or becomes "disabled", we get to pay social security for each of his kids."
ReplyDeleteWell said !!! And true !!!
Polygamy's fallout hurts more than just the women and children who live it.
The thing is people don't really care about polygamy. All you have to di is mention freedom of religion and people feel sorry for them. It's complete B.S.
DeleteYes but do you think by legalizing polygamy it would become any more popular? I don't think so. My husband can barely deal with one wife and would never want more than one for any reason!
DeleteWould it become more popular if it were legal? Yes, absolutely. Anyone who doesn't think most men would enjoy a polygamous situation is delusional. Sure, the good men will continue to be monogamous for the sake of their wives...but let's not forget that there are a ton of less-than-good men out there. And will women play along? YES, I believe so. :(
DeleteThankfully, it's not going to happen. Wow, it would be really backwards if polygamy were legalized before gay marriage. But it won't be, I don't think. At least let's hope.
The last thing the sister wives need is a company that delivers food at anytime of the day to them. I'm not trying to be mean but come on now, I think it would only be to their advantage to walk and get their own groceries!
ReplyDeleteSide note.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see Paul Ryan, I think he looks like Robyn. The jaw, the "sad, poor me" eyes.... please don't make me have to see that man in the public eye for 4 years. uck.
I am going to kindly ask... wr leave politics out of this blog site.. thank you
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!!! (classiness is a virtue)
DeleteSorry if this was because of my above comment. People have made Robyn comparisons here frequently....some even further down in this same thread. I think the resemblance is uncanny and commented as such. I did not comment on Paul Ryan's policies or political beliefs.
DeleteAs it is, this is a blog about a tv show. But politics may arise because in current American politics, one of the main candidates is of the same basic faith as those in the tv show...plus the people in the show are suing and are polygamist activists. Which can lead to an appropriate discussion on polygamy and if it should be legal. And that can lead to a discussion on people who are from polygamist families. And that leads us right to Mitt Romney.
It's a bit "If you give a mouse a cookie" ish but that is sometimes how discussions go.
I think if they really want to live toghther in one home and they don't have the money to do that, then why do they spend money on vacations and ordering "lunchables" and having them delerverd to there homes? I'm confused. Maybe spending money a little better would help. Instead 4 different houses maybe live in 4 appartments to save some money. Yes the kids would need to share bedrooms but you know "scarifsing now for later" really does help. Umm, the car that cody drives is kinda spendy as well. Anyways, just some ideas. :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't think Robyn was saying they actually had ordered from the service or that they ordered lunchables - I think she just used it as an outlandish example of what COULD be ordered. It's their friend or something after all, that doesn't mean they actually use the service. I highly doubt that the Browns have a lot of cash kicking around to afford to have some service go out and buy a lunchable for them. All it really is, is just someone giving their phone # or maybe having online ordering and they will run out and go to the store for them. most big stores are open 24 hours so it's not like it would be totally impossible to pick up any type of grocery at any hour of the day or night. IMO.
DeleteWhat I got out of Robyn's 'shout-out' about this company was *yet another endorsement* by the KodyWorld folks to foster freebies from local companies.
DeleteIt's that simple..they tweet the company's name with a cute phrase or two and they get preferential service/costs. Or maybe even a kickback/finder's fee. Happens all the time in business.
What smells about it all is how the Browns are exploiting their fans to beef up *their* access to freebies....as usual.
Methinks Robyn got herself a deal with them, considerably reduced or free shipping in exchange for endorsement.
DeleteWell we already know that the business owner is also the Browns' de facto booking agent, so they're already getting free service IMO.
DeleteSorry, November 11th is when Sister Wives is back!
ReplyDeleteGuesses for the "shakeups and surprises":
ReplyDelete1. Kody gets arrested for shoplifting a toupee
2. Janelle secretly sells houses; stashes away commission in her mattress for "getaway money"
3. Robyn and Kody enjoy a romantic midnight Lunchable
4. Meri becomes a hoarder (but only HIGH QUALITY stuff okay guys); fills entire 7-bedroom house in 3 months.
5. All the kids start a band a'la the Partridge Family, travel around in a Mondrian-style bus
6. Mariah gets engaged (to ?????)
7. Christine gives us a new "mock _________" recipe
Funny !!! Thanks for the laughs !!
Delete1. Logan decides to major in accounting
Delete2. Kody's teeth turn green from that MLM stuff
3. Mariah enlists in the Army
4. Christine finally buys a toaster
5. Janelle makes peanut butter fritos
Possible shake ups:
ReplyDelete---House drama...one falls through or is half built but with the wrong number of closets or something.
---More milking is someone pregnant or not
---Maybe one of the kids moves out? Goes to live with family somewhere or back to Lehi?
What if Meri finally decided she wanted Robin to be the surrogate, but Robin was already pregnant again with her own baby #2 with Kody? Oh my, I wonder if they would be bff's still!
DeleteChristine discovers a faster way to make Mock Tapioca. She heats up a packet of Cream of Wheat in the microwave! It is a life-altering event.
DeleteAnonymous at 1:07 a.m.--very good point! I wonder if Robyn is using "protection" until Meri makes her decision. Somehow I really, really doubt it...
DeleteThey get there own slot machine,, THE BROWNS,, in the bonus round you get to play Kody and pick a new wife from a screen full of eligable ladys, well maybe even not so eligable ladys,, touching the lady on the screen reveals a prize,, one may be denied welfare,0 points, becomes wife #5,, 100 points, match 3 kids and win a trip to disneyland, free spins,, get 3 kodys and win a TV show,, get a Duggar, bonus is over
ReplyDeleteI am laughing.. please do not rule it out.. they are very popular .. it could happen...you would be shocked what T V shows have slow machines .. laughs
DeleteThe Browns aren't as popular or as well known as they think...ratings aren't all that high, and most of my friends/acquaintances don't even know who they are or just barely. I think the highest ratings they've pulled has been 2.2 million...Honey Boo Boo gets more.
DeleteYep, I just read in Huffington Post, that Honey Boo Boo pulled in 3 million viewers, & this was during the RNC...lol
DeleteI just wonder, if the Browns are so popular, then why is their new season premiere date so late in the Fall lineup Nov 11? Last year, 2011, they premiered mid Sept & ended Mid Nov...just saying!
At yet even more possible shake ups:
ReplyDelete- New 18 year old wife added to the family
- Meri begins to binge drink due to her wet bar
- Robin's ex-husband joins them on the couch to:
a) Tell his dirt on Robin
b) Kick Kody's ass
- Janelle runs away
I am done with Sister Wives. I am sick and tired of all the drama about the possible surrogacy and the 4 houses crap. No loan officer is going to approve loans for 4 houses to these people. I think I will just read this blog because I love the commentary on here and spend the time I would have watching Sister Wives with my husband instead.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you feel that way.....
DeleteLaurie I only watch so I can come here and be entertained :)
DeleteYa I personally think the surrogacy storyline has been DONE! And ya know what...I only watch the show to enhance my enjoyment of this blog! Lol :-)
DeleteThe house storyline I want to see through - I'm interested to see whether the show chooses to air the Browns' loan decline(s) or if they are just going to say they changed their minds and moving back to the Lehi homestead...
ooh that would be a twist. They give up on Las Vegas and move back to Utah.
DeleteI really feel that there is a "move back to Lehi" episode coming - obviously not in this upcoming round of shows, since the Browns would have already moved out of LV or in the process of moving by this time. What the show will do is wait until the "we need to qualify for new homes" storyline is played out. And TLC, even if they were going to buy homes for the Browns, would be wise NOT to do so, because there is inherently more interest and drama in seeing the actual train-wreck play itself out rather than manufacturing yet another situation. Again...name ONE reality show that TLC has aired in which the network/producers have actually sprung for a home. Sure - Jon and Kate might have used the show money to help pay for their estate (which if memory serves is now in danger of foreclosure) and the Duggars and the little people who live on the farm probably used the show $$ to help pay for renovations on their existing homes/property, but there is no evidence of TLC/producers actually purchasing houses for anyone. As I said before...what makes the Browns so special/important? the whole attraction for TLC and other TV networks that feature "real people" reality shows (as opposed to Gordon Ramsay's shows and Extreme Makeover) is that they are VERY cheap to produce, there are no residuals as the "stars" get paid a flat fee for participating...TLC/Figure 8 aren't charities and don't have a bottomless pit of money to spend, they are very much on a budget which doesn't include buying almost $1.8 million worth of homes for one of their reality 'star families' whose popularity is already being eclipsed by the latest reality shows airing on TLC.
DeleteThere is always speculation about how much the Browns make, well here is something interesting... I just found this on Comcast news. It's about that HONEY BOO BOO show and how much they make per episode. It says "The Georgia 7 year-old known as “Honey Boo Boo Child” and her family (a total of six people) are earning somewhere between $2,000 and $4,000 an episode for their TLC reality series"
ReplyDeleteRead the article here http://xfinity.comcast.net/blogs/tv/2012/09/05/money-boo-boo-what-tlcs-honey-child-earns-for-her-reality-show/
And make sure you also read June's (Honey Boo Boo's mother) reply:
Deletehttp://www.tmz.com/2012/09/05/honey-boo-boo-4-000-an-episode/
Sorry everyone, but let's keep the topic on the Browns...Thanks!
Thanks CJ...no more Honey Boo Boo.
DeleteI don't know if I can watch another season of Kody running from house to house, saying he has invested emotionally in the relationships with "these women" and then proceed to insult and degrade them in the very next sentence. Oh, and not forgetting his complete disinterest in his children. I wish that at least one of the wives would stand up an say "no, you will not treat me like this!"
ReplyDeleteI think that did happen with Christine and that is why in one of the episodes near the end of last season they quickly mentioned that he had been avoiding going to Christine's during his allotted time with her. Didn't they mention something like he would "hide out" at Mary's for some peace and quiet and go to Robyn's to "help" with the baby? Yeah right. I'm sure he helps with the baby as much as he does with the others!
DeleteSo the train-wreck returns! I have to admit that the crazier they get the more interesting it is to watch...catching them in lies, rating Kody's crazy eyes on a scale from 1-10, seeing odd new ways to layer clothing, etc.
ReplyDeleteConsidering they get more disturbed every season, I can only imagine what madness awaits-
I am actually a bit apprehensive of this. In the first series, I really loved all of them, I thought they had problems but experience had shown them how to deal with them as best they could...all the bullying and sadness now though just makes me feel bad for them. Is poor Christine's depression being treated with anything other than advice to 'keep sweet'? I really want the show to come back because I want to see how and what they're doing, but if it is contributing negatively to the family, it should be stopped. What are the chances of Kody seeing things that way though...?
DeleteOh I am aware of the TV shows that have there own slot machines, but I;m afraid If I saw one in a casino, I would be forced to break it somehow, my luck they would comeout with the Joe Smith version, find the golden tablets and win a bonus round of find the planet Kolob,
ReplyDeleteChristine could if she CHOSE...get help....she is not the only woman in the world that's suffering from depression. The reality is many woman are in the same boat. Christine is getting something out of it or she would seek help.
ReplyDeleteI'm carefully watching every episode again ..Christine wanted to be third and last wife .....she had a plan ......oops ...her plan didn't come to pass ......the reality is
..depression is anger turned inward ...she needs to be accountable for her feelings stop blaming ....when we keep our own side of the street clean not worry about others ...life can be wonderful ...
Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain that is visible in PET scans
DeleteAnd your point is? Sounds like you are implying that a chemical imbalance is merely a physical condition. That's the line big pharma uses to push their drugs. Depression is a spiritual or mental condition. Being out of whack in that area can cause this "chemical imbalance".
DeleteSharki,
DeleteI don't mean to offend, but you are totally wrong about depression being a spiritual or mental condition. While it is a mental condition, it's cause has been well documented as being caused by a chemical embalance and not the chemical embalance being caused by a lack of gumption or sprituality.
I totally agree with Anonymous at 9:47 a.m. Depression is a disorder of the brain *and body* just like diabetes, cancer, or anything else. It is a disease: a medical condition. There is now a very reliable BLOOD TEST for depression. This is the scientific reality. Yes, stressful events and let-downs can and do precipitate or worsen depression, but it is not a "spiritual" condition or "mental" in the sense of being "all in your head." It is a medical condition that needs medical treatment.
DeletePossible new season shakeups:
ReplyDelete1. Kody finally comes out of the closet and wants to start bringing brother husbands into the mix.
2. Husband number one Clashes with Meri over decorating schemes. Tells her "just because its expensive girlfriend, doesnt make it high end!"
3. Mariah has a breakdown because she was hoping to be wife #5.
Hilarious!
DeleteI was just thinking about the Browns and their massive weight gain, and a thought occurred to me: is Kody a feeder? I don't mean this in some gross fetish sense. I just wonder if he encourages eating/discourages exercise because he's so vain and insecure he feels like his wives might see him for the douche he really is if they start to feel good about themselves? Or am I reading too deep and they really do independently choose to eat that much in each separate household?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, more shakeups:
-Kody enrolls in hypnotist school in LV, after which he uses his powers to snag wife #5
-Robyn is entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for biggest baby in the world/most tears per hour.
-The Browns, after watching Gold Rush Alaska, collectively decide to move to Alaska (or Guyana possibly?) to join the Hoffmans for EASY MONEY/being dangerously incompetent.
Ok my REAL predictions are:
-Kody makes strangers acutely uncomfortable by insisting on discussing his number of wives.
-They get a new interview couch (!!!!)
-Robyn tells some story about the Browns that happened 10 years before she became a wife
-Some "jokey" totally-scripted scene where Kody and Christine eat nachos together
-Mariah visits recruiter; finds out she is unqualified to join the military
-Janelle smiles and nods the entire season
-Roughly 2 tons of Mexican food is consumed
-A billion pregnancy hints but no actual pregnancy
Last week I rewatched the 1st season episode when Kody and Meri were celebrating their anniversary. I was amazed just how much weight she gained in the course of what, 3 years?
DeleteLess than 3 years I think. Yup. Me too, and I think moving to Vegas is a big reason for the gains in pretty much the entire family.
DeleteOf course right after I posted I had to expand a bit. Lehi was green, lush, and has actual seasons. The family had their church congregation and friends nearby. They probably walked a lot more. Flash forward to LV. Temps normally hovering around 100 degrees but the wives are required by some religious mandate to stay completely covered in layers of heavy clothing. No shorts or Tshirts even at the gym (yeah there was Meri wearing a swimsuit in Mexico but I think they relax their rules on vacation). So I would guess that the family spends most of their daytime hours in the air conditioned house watching tv and eating peanut butter fritos...
DeleteMeri looked thin and young. Now she is big and looks old. Christine also use to look happy.
DeleteI find watching the Browns interesting how they all interact etc.
ReplyDeleteWhar is more interesting than people?? All those personalities etc there is bound to be clashes. I would like to see them do regular common chores like sitting
around the dining room table doing the monthly bills, haggling what takes
priority like the rest of us do. Do they pool their money or are responsible
for their own home and expenses?
I'm from the old school - family of five, jockeying home and car repairs along
with the car insurand, tags etc. Very interesting.
This was addressed in the book - Kody states that the wives support their kids and what is left after that is kicked into large group expenses such as mortgages. "If one of my wives chooses not to work in order to stay home and look after our kids, I make sure she is taken care of. If another wife makes a bundle while her sister wive is looking after the kids, she will share her bounty. If someone has a windfall from tax returns or inheritance, then she *usually* shares a good portion of it."
DeleteSince none of them are really working, they probably live off the TLC money and whatever is coming in from the MLM and the jewelry sales (I doubt they've made a profit yet on the jewelry even with the very high markup) and also the book sales such as they are - it was #1 for a couple weeks after the interview episode, but took a quick dive from there and is now #4,563 on the Amazon chart.
and of course Robyn just tosses her bills on the table for Janelle to take care of right? LOL
I wonder if the wives claim the EIC at tax time? Scammers.
DeleteKody needs a J-O-B. I would respect the family more and I would be more open to learning more about their lifestyle if they were more responsible. The way they save and spend is a joke. How can anyone take them seriously?
My predictions Meri will adopt a black child or baby. Christine will have another baby but is it Kodys. Robin will take off with delivery man leaving her children with Meri. Janelle will sell homes &bought keep money for her childrens education.
ReplyDeleteSince Janelle has no real estate license yet, that "buy and sell" storyline won't be happening anytime soon. And really...she doesn't strike me as a "realtor" type. she's way too introverted.
DeleteI think that KodyWorld has exhausted all its possible *wow* topics.
ReplyDeleteEven a wife *5 would only be interesting in how she would disrupt things for the other wives. And then of course we would still be left to wonder how scripted any of those clips would be anyway.
What would be a ratings booster is if they would seriously get down to showing the real cracks in their beliefs...person by person....and why?
After all, their alleged original reason for pimping themselves and their children on TV was to educate the public about Plyg life, wasn't it?
Well, that premise has not worked out too well has it? If anything they have turned people off once their lifestyle and finanacial background and tactics/ethics were TV viewed.
So why not get *real* and be honest for once. They live that way, it seems, because for most of the wives they don't know how *not to live* that way anymore.
And isn't that exactly what has been reported to happen to so many plyg women? That they and their children get trapped in it and there are no options except to either fake the bliss hoping it will be enough, or just shut down...?
TLC surely knows (perhaps deliberately) that they have placed serious competition up against SW this coming season. Between the two extremes of that unbelievably gross redneck crew, and then those so, so charming and interesting conjoined twins....what can SW do to score increased or even equal ratings ??
They are yesterday's news unless they now show something worth people's time and attention. But have no fear..Kody and Meri, the two most addicted to the fame and goodies, will think of something, I am sure.
Totally agree. It appears that the Browns will never "come clean" about their religion on the show as far as WHY they are living this backwards lifestyle (personally, i think there's a significant percentage of viewers etc who were interested in the "nookie aspect" - witness the Q&A where Kody adamantly refused to answer a Viagra question). The only thing that will be keeping me watching this season is seeing what happens with the housing situation. Other than that...watching just to enjoy this blog more. :)
DeleteMe too !! The blog is infinetly more interesting.
DeleteThanks DakotaJustice for your reply. My name hasn't surfaced as yet
ReplyDeleteon the library's wait list for the book. You're saying that each wife
is sub servant to spouse, has his children, then assumes sole responsibility to provide for them. Isn't that great!
Remember eons ago there was a CW song by the Glazers -
" Put another log on the fire then come tell me how much you love me!"
IMOP, this must be their theme song!!
Wonder in real life, how many marriages have dissolved based on a deadbeat spouse.
I love the show. I'm happy it is coming back on. It is much better than all the gay men couples every where on TV. A real man and good looking too. Go Kody
ReplyDeleteOh yes Kody is such a real man thats why his high school friends thought he was gay! He then marries not 1 but 4 women and sires 14 children just to prove how manly he is. Maybe that's what the season surprise will be, Kody coming out of the closet!
DeleteSorry Anon 10:28...I have many many gay friends and many of them are as "manly" as straight guys I know! If Kody is actually bi/gay, I would just go meh. But then again, I live in the bay area so we might be a bit more tolerant/accuustomed.
DeleteAlso, I've said this before but IMO Kody isn't in it for the sex as much as for the attention. He is very much a narcissist...he almost creates situations/opportunities to boast how he's a polygamist and has 4 wives etc. I call total BS that he was keeping it a secret for 20 years...he is an attention ho big time and his old classmates mentioned he was the same way back in the day as well...
Deleteomgosh kody finally has joined us here on the blog! :)
DeleteIs this a Brown that posted, "A real man and good looking too"
DeleteSpelling correct...not Christine or Robchin...incomplete sentence ... maybe Kody and his ADHD ... But no.
The immature comment on "gay couples" sounds like a teenager... But they would not comment that dad is "good looking"
Only one person still has that lust for Kody...Hi Meri, nice to see you on SWB. Welcome!
I'm pleased that Kody doesn't discuss the nookie on the show. Not my business.
ReplyDeleteI do find it fascinating that all the wives are responsible for somehow supporting their families but that, according to Kody, none of the money is expected to come from him. Wow, what a deal. Not going to mention that to my own social group. Nope. I prefer that the men think they need to kick in a few bucks here and there, and I'm not going to disabuse them of that notion.
My 83 year old mom is now involved in the sister wives saga...She watched the first two seasons with me on Netflex...I wish Netflex had the other seasons.
ReplyDeleteHer view so far...1. Those wives are lucky not to be with a husband, everyday.. ( i laughed).2.. she noticed the weight gain on the women and children AFTER Robyn entered the scene.
3. She believes Robyn is nothing but a self seeking self centered less of a woman. She also believes Kody will grow old of Robyn very fast. 4. She thinks Meri and Kody are truly in love. i am stil laughing. I am going to have to go out and buy the other seasons. just because i want to hear what my very wise mother's take on this.
does Robyn even have 1 fan out there? So far I have not heard of one.
DeleteLauraLeigh, My mom watches it to. She thinks Kody is a puke and can't stand Robin. I only wish My mom and I could watch Big Love together. I would love to hear her comments on that.
DeleteThere's this one person on here who raves about Robyn from time to time... But that just might be Robyn NC herelf.
DeletePollyanna, I'm gonna be honest with you - I don't dislike Robyn. She is actually my 2nd or 3rd fave of the wives. I can't decide if I like Janelle or Christine best.
DeleteAt first I really liked Janelle and absolutely none of the rest, but now she annoys me a bit with her docile behavior. What I mean by that is she should not be the only wife working and supporting all of those grown folks and their kids. Especially when some of them didn't or maybe still don't treat her so well. On the one hand, I respect her attitude of a "servant's heart", but she should not let people run over her.
I wasn't too crazy about Christine because she seemed so pompous and superior about her religion, which really turned me off. Now I kind of feel sorry for her and hope that she will humble herself in that area a bit and realize that maybe polygamy isn't the greatest thing going. I am now really impressed by Christine's honesty.
I have never been a fan of Meri. She just seems as if she should've stayed monogamous. She and Kody definitely share what seems to be an incredibly strong bond, but I don't know how fair that is to the other wives in a polygamist marriage. This is one reason why this marriage does not seem right or fair to me - someone is always going to get the short end of the stick, and it will never be Kody (or Meri).
Robyn, to me, tries really hard to make things work in the family. But I really think this is because she doesn't feel threatened by anyone. She's secure (or at least she was). It'd be interesting to see how her persona might change if someone she perceives as a threat was brought in.
I also think Robyn is trying really hard to make the teens like her. I think any normal "step-parent" would try to do that, but I do think she tries too hard sometimes. For example, when she's the main one talking on the couch. She hasn't been with the family long enough or been a polygamist long enough to be the "expert."
Just my thoughts ...
I think there is one real reason why we all get caught up in this. Its not is! We can look at them and be a little more thankful for our own lives.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's the real point of 'reality tv'.
Just my opinion.
Believe Robyn is the trophy wife, younger, slim, attractive, adds a dab of spice
ReplyDeleteto the group. Also believe she'll soon wear out her welcome.
Had a similiar issue - ex always wanted the small petite brunette gal.
What he latched onto was a blonde, photogenic but older and bigger than he.
Then she opened her mouth - oh my. Has had him on the brink of bankruptcy several times - all anyone can think of she must be a good lay!!
Find the SW interesting - especially the finances and living arrangements.
Must be miracle workers.
Linda ha remember the first season - Meri said she thought Kody deserved a "trophy wife" and that was Robyn. She WAS slim but from the recent pics, she's falling in line with the others. Attractive? I guess matter of opinion...
DeleteIt seems from one of the last epi's that Christine and Janelle took the Real Estate exam and one passed - Janelle. Real Estate is a feast or famine
ReplyDeletebusiness.
Re finances: read somewhere and it maybe ancient history that the Roloffs
were paid a million a season. If this is the case, and the Browns split it five ways, it'd be $200,000 each. What is interesting to me - does Kody have his own place to hang his hat periodically??
Do you feel that Kody and Meri filea joint return and the others single, head of household??
I seriously doubt that the Roloffs or ANY reality show participant/family on TLC got paid a mill a season. The TLC salaries (actually paid by the production companies I believe - since TLC only orders "x" number of shows and pays a fee for them) are rarely divulged - they are a bigger secret that KFC's herbs and spices. I think Jon G. stated in an interview (after the show had run its course) that the MOST the family got paid was $20k for an ep - guessing that was after the big blowup before they actually split and Jon was all over the news with his girlfriend. Their ratings were higher than the Browns so I doubt the Browns are even getting that much.
DeleteJanelle IMO doesn't have the personality to be a realtor. She just doesn't seem to be especially comfortable in people-facing situations. Also the fees and "apprenticeship" that goes with being a realtor has been discussed in past blog posts.
I'm sure that kody and Meri file as married and the other 3 file single HOH. Because that's legally what they are.
Whatever it is the Browns are being paid (which we will never know for sure I think) they appear to be spending it like water...
1. Kody and Meri.. taxes.. married filing jointly.... the best wat for them to go...
Delete2. The three other wives.. Head of Household.. IF "IF" they were on any Federl or State assistance, the program would take the returns. The EIC, is based on their uncome.. so again IF they had any income. it wouldn't be much to get that much for the EIC.
My wise 83 year old mother added some more thoughts on this income talk..
Delete1. BOOK: was number 1 for several weeks, still selling strong.
2. SW jewelry.. Its a big deal here in Vegas. they can sell enough...
3. TLC. show.. ALL of them are making an income. adults and children
4. Janelle Real Estate...
5. LIV..
Like it or not.. they are pretty secure.
Secure? I don't think so...spending as fast as they get is more like it. I'm sure your mom is very smart, but I must beg to differ regarding their sources of income as follows:
DeleteBook-was a best seller for a few weeks after the interview then dropped like a lead balloon. My guess is that the Browns probably get MAYBE a buck from the sale of each book. And that royalty doesn't kick in until enough copies are sold to meet whatever advance payment they received when the contract was signed. If they have a publishing agent, that person might be getting a little kick back as well. (hubby is a musician and we know plenty of musicians with MAJOR recording contracts...works the same way...and they actually make more $$ touring...)
Jewelry - a "big deal"? So how many people outside the Browns have you seen wearing it? Just because people are talking about it and even saying how much they like it doesn't mean they are actually buying it. And again...overhead. The jeweler who is actually manufacturing the items gets a cut - probably 50% of the retail price. Putting up and maintaining a website costs a little $$...plus they will have to pay a card processor as they are accepting credit cards. It's not investment jewelry - its overpriced crap with no resale value whatsoever. Just because the browns tweet about selling it, doesn't mean they are selling much.
TLC show - I doubt every member of the fam is getting a check. It's more likely that one check is cut to Brown Family Entertainment each season, and NOT for $1 million or even $500k. We will never know. Every single website and article about how much they earn (ANY of the TLC reality participants) is pure SPECULATION on the part of the author. TLC has stated "we don't discuss salaries" and my guess is that the contracts signed by the "stars" have a codicil stating they are not permitted to discuss how much they actually are paid for the show, since no one ever does. I think Jon Gosselin said that the most they got paid was $20k an episode - one payment for the family, and that was not for the entire time the show was on the air, just the MOST they got paid.
Janelle Real Estate - she's passed a test. Period. She has done nothing since then. Nada. She's not licensed as far as anyone has been able to find out, and that WOULD be public knowledge. I personally think people tend to overestimate Janelle's intelligence. She might be book smart to some extent, and compared to the other adults an Einstein...but...real world smart? not really.
LIV - it's an MLM. 99 percent of people in MLMs don't make money. Or actually lose money. MLMs are very short term...I wish someone here would go to a "business meeting" by the browns and see if many people actually sign up. Penn&Teller did a great - and TRUE- documentary on MLMs. It's basically a pyramid scheme, the only thing keeping it legal is that they are allegedly selling a product. But the real money is made by signing people under them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y60XdZJG83U&sns=em
Nuff said...I will just watch the whole saga play itself out and hope the kids aren't too damaged at the end of it. The Browns remind me of folks I knew back 5-10 years ago that had great cars, beautiful homes, designer clothes, etc etc...then the real estate bubble burst...and they admitted they were doing it all on credit and equity out of their house which was now upside down. The Browns IMO are playing that same game right now.
I agree totally that they are not secure but you are wrong about each family member getting paid. I am not going to reveal how i know but i have heard from a reliable source that kody, each of the wives and the older kids do get a seperate paycheck for each episode.
DeleteLet compare Matt Roloff to Kody Brown, shall we? Matt Roloff was born with a dysplasia that made him have to work extra hard just to accomplish the tasks in life we take for granted. It made him a go-getter. Although he is a dreamer, he has a "lets work hard to make it happen" attitude. Kody Brown....kinda a mommas boy. Went through school thinking he was the cats meow. Workes only hard enough to"get by" and now makes his wives do 99.9% of everyything. Matt.Roloff may not have always been 100% present there dor his kids..but when he wasnt there it was work related and made sure his kids had the best of everything. Taught his boys how to use tractors..gave them skills. And Kody?? Teach your boys to rely on women...can you imagine a business meeting between TLC and Matt Roloff vs TLC and Kody Brown!?
ReplyDeleteSome of you were wondering if the browns read this blog. I didn't mention this a few months ago, cause I didn't think about it. The browns were in American Fork for a book signing. As the evening was coming to an end I was still inside talking to an acquaintance. Someone came in that got Christine up and out of her chair to go and hug. It wasn't a huge room so I could hear them. I am not saying this word for word, but this is the summary. Her friend is a member of the AUB and lives in lehi..... the browns are renting their house to another AUB family...... Moving back is in talks with the charges being dropped ect. The older kids want to go to college in Utah. Moving will make them residents and drop the cost significantly.......Meri walked over.....I couldn't really hear it all until there was laughter. Christine said, yeah I read that blog probably more than i should. It's a trip to read the sister wives blog and know it's about us. She then said sometimes i even post on it. Kody was several feet away and said that they like reading the sister wives blog because it's nothing like the tlc questions. The people on the blog are voicing their opinions and don't care if we see it. Meri said it has helped her to understand how the public view s them. That way they can answer questions better. Christine says sometimes they will talk on the phone and read the updates. The friend asked why they don't let the people on the blog know that the response is from them. They don't want us to know because they want honest opinions, if we knew they were reading we may not be so blunt and honest.
ReplyDelete**** please forgive any grammar that is incorrect,I posted this from my wall mounted rotary phone****.
Wow...so you're saying Meri and Christine and Kody like to read all the negative press they get here? That surprises me.
DeleteInteresting being that Kody once said he doesn't allow his family to read internet "blogs" because of the negativity, so for Meri, Christine and Kody to be joking about it where others may hear it, well, I'll have to witness that on my own.
DeleteI wouldn't be surprised if they do surreptitiously visit SWB, but I certainly don't think the wives would share that with Kody. Remember Kody's shortlived youtube channel? Or the people Kody banned (and apparently still banning) from his twitter? Or the people threatened with being unfriended on the "friend only" fanpage because they had the audacity to talk about Kody's baldness? How about his inability to say he regretted humiliating Christine on TV in an interview (sorry, I still can't let it go). Nope, I can't see it.
Like that iconic line, Kody "can't handle the truth!"
How do you post digitally from an analog rotary phone?
DeletePutting it bluntly, I think Kody is an accomplished liar. He would have to be, to be so involved with MLM.
DeleteThere have just been too many coincidences when something is posted here and then a reaction of some sort by the Browns for them not to be reading!
Any publicity is good publicity right? They don't care who as long as there are viewers keeping their ratings from hitting the toilet. As soon as our interest wanes...then it's buh-bye TLC check. Unlike the Duggars and the Roloffs, the TLC $ is the Browns bread and butter...And everything else rests on that. The MLM. The book. The jewelry. A house of cards...
Well, if this is the truth, and Kody and his wife-minions DO read *and post* here, then it is pretty damn sad that they haven't the guts to identify themselves. But that's no surprise.
DeleteAnd if Meri actually said that reading here "gives her insights" into how people view them, then either she is obviously a slow to hopeless learner....or this is unforgivable arrogance.
To the Browns:
As well as playing the welfare and bankruptcy systems (our tax money), you milk your "fans" for handouts and purchases. Is this a lifestyle to proudly showcase??
Kody, Christine, Janelle, Robin and Meri,
If you are indeed reading SWB (despite your phony claims of avoiding blogs) then you do know precisely what people think of you and your lifestyle of duplicity and intentional scamming and grifting.
So be it !!!!
How do you post digitally from an analog rotary phone?
DeleteWell, one person "thinks" they can...
Truthfully, if the Brown wives really were reading SWB and cared what was being said, they would have dumped the babydoll over longsleeve T shirt look, lost a gazillion pounds and given Kody the ultimatum to cut that mangy hair or they will force him to get a real job...
But they haven't...
CJ, one would think that, wouldn't one !?
DeleteBut then again, *they* are the celestial heirs, so maybe a lot rides on dressing and looking the part....whatever that 'look' is.
Or maybe...between the four of them, there is zero common sense??
Vegas heat, overweight, constant public scrutiny, 40-something dude's hair looking absolutely ridiculous, SWB comments....
Hello, anyone home ?
Haha BC I didn't even know that 21st century phone networks still supported rotary dial! Good one...ok that post might be BS but I still think the Browns read this. How could they not?
DeleteI would hope that the wives and kids don't obey Kody in everything. Since they only see him at their house every three days that's plenty of time to surf the web.
DeleteIf I had to guess, I would think Kody officially forbids the wives from reading this blog or other negative SW forums. There are just too many legitimate attacks on his intentions, work ethics, competence, and good faith for him to be OK with his wives reading it. He's an egocentric, narcissistic, self-centered, puffed-up man, remember? He cares what people think of him.
DeleteIf Kody himself had read the blog, he might not act like he was "the man" so much. He seems to still think that everyone considers him a cool surfer dude who just happens to be spiritual and selfless enough to take on four wives. If he read here, he'd know that that's the farthest thing from the truth. I think he doesn't read here because he doesn't want his own bubble to be burst.
Whether the wives/teens actually read this blog is another story. I'm sure they have. I do remember Meri commented once on the show, "Enough with the Robyn-bashing." It seems she would have read some Robyn bashing to know it was going on.
There is no comparison Browns/Roloffs. Matt is a businessman and is wisely spending their money. They have other ventures to sustain the family.
ReplyDeleteNow let's compare the Browns, the Gosselins, and the new BooBoo- I agree with Dr Phil is 'creepy'. Their modes of operation appear to be 'easy come, easy go'.
Had the Browns did any research of Vegas they probably would've stayed in Utah, statistology. Vegas has very high unemployment and a crazy housing market.
Time will tell.
No comparison at all!!!!
DeleteThe Roloffs had a successful family farm long before the show. Matt is an inventor, innovator and true entrepreneur. He works harder in a week than Kody the free loader has worked his whole life.
Kodys life has been living off woman and children and their fraudulent welfare benefits. They steal from creditors with their serial bankruptcies. Buying from legitimate business owners with no intentions of paying back. When you see that Christine had a debt of over $2000 to an electronic store on her bankruptcy you know this is fraud. No food, housing or medical care was bought at that electronic store! These grifters moved to the middle class by pooling welfare, medicaid, wic, food stamps and bankruptcy laws that allowed them to steal from reputable business owners. And they call us SHARKS !!!
Now that's ghetto, Mariah.
ALL of the Brown adults (not counting Logan here, I know he's legally an adult but I still consider him one of the kids) are bent on doing as little as they possibly can to get by. Except possibly Janelle, but I think that Janelle is happiest in an office situation. Janelle is a hard office worker, but not a go-getter or a goal setter. Otherwise, she wouldn't be there. If you ever read "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck - the main character Wang Lung was a hard worker, but he had an uncle who only did as much as he had to and as soon as Wang Lung had $$$ he immediately started grifting off his nephew. That's Kody. He's a grifter. and the wives go along with it. Provider? Nah. baby daddy.
DeleteJust got back from visiting my BFF who happens to be a television reviewer - of course she reviews a lot of reality shows and receives advance DVDs from the different networks in order to do so. I mentioned this whole convo about the Browns and how much TLC is paying them and she said...TLC is CHEAP. Most networks who send advance DVDs to her...they are professionally done and at least the discs are printed and neat - the ones she gets from TLC are just plain discs burned from a computer and the name of the show written with a Sharpie and sent in a plain mailer. TLC was where Discovery sent shows to die - witness American Chopper - which was huge of Discovery for years, then ratings went down and it was moved to TLC. She agrees with me that TLC probably includes a "confidentiality" codicil in their contracts. They arent going to buy any houses or pay the Browns' rent aside from what they already get paid. The reason TLC has so many reality shows is because they are cheap to produce. Therefore they are not going to pay anyone including the Browns more than they absolutely have to,
ReplyDeleteIMO - the difference between the Browns and most of the other TLC reality "stars" is that the Browns bread and butter IS the show. The Roloffs, the Duggars etc...have other stuff going on. Although I'm sure the extra $ and exposure came in handy. Now the Gosselins - kinda like the Browns, but the G's also toured churches and got paid for that. Who is going to pay the Browns for public appearances, other than LIV? What church is going to have the Browns come in and speak?

ReplyDelete**** please forgive any grammar that is incorrect,I posted this from my wall mounted rotary phone****.
That must have been quite a feat!!! Perhaps I need to start drinking the LIV green goo to sharpen my brain because I can't figure that one out-
I think the SW's do visit here but I'm sure that afterwards Robin cries, Christine pops a Prozac, Janelle starts eating peanut butter fritos and Meri plots her revenge. I believe Kodouche doesn't read it- he's too unstable and knows his brain will explode.
Corgi,
DeleteI think your view of their post-SWB visits is spot-on. :))
You can't post from an analog phone. It's a joke meaning there is no excuse for my spelling........I am not the type of person to BS a story. I don't need to bs a story about the browns, they can do that all on their own! At the book signing,Robin was not there. All of the "fans" had left. I wasabout 20 ft from them talking to the owner. They were talking to some women from the AUB that they obviously knew very well. I was able to hear what they were talking about because Christine was being incredibly loud and obnoxious. In my opinion they can lie all they want about reading peoples opinions and blogs. But, most people would tell their friends the truth. I new beyond a doubt they are reading this when Chritine said she wanted to find out who won the Tshirt contest..... my friend works for the dept.of workforce services. She told me how the browns can get government assistance without breaking the law. In the eyes of the government he is not married to three of them. They can get wic and foodstamps without breaking the law because they live in single family homes and they are not married. There was an episode in season 2 when the camera panned across a dresser. On three dresser was a wic coupon. I tried to find the episode with no luck. I love this blog. It was fun to do those t- shirts. The information I shared is not a lie. I think the browns are as quirky as most of you do. I have a question because i want to know if i am the only one who is bothered just as much as I am.Robins square jaw and underbite drive me crazy. I don't know that I have ever seen a woman with a face that square b4. Has anyone else noticed?
ReplyDeleteWhat irks me the most about them is their willful and smug abuse of the system. It is outrageous.
DeleteThey rip off American taxpayers under the cloak of *their religion* which is nothing more than a means to an end, as in not being married and not working, therefore being eligible for getting free money. It's a finely tuned scam in the plyg world. It also explains *why* they preferred to live in *separate* apartments in Lehi and separate houses in Vegas. All part of being eligible for handouts. If they are currently not receiving benefits due to being flush with TLC, it will no doubt be put in force again once the TLC money train stops)
And then they have the nerve to further try to fleece people to buy their mostly fabricated book, green goo and junk jewelry. Oh, and let's not forget all the tweet shoutouts to *their fans* about various other businesses so they can get even more bennies.
As for Robin's jaw/chin.....hey, she obviously can't help that. But unfortunately, when she whines, playing the know-it-all or victim, that feature does stand out.
That makes sense to me, and good one on the analog phone :) I can totally see Christine being loud and obnoxious. Kody can say as much as he likes that they don't read blogs, specifically this one, but I'm sorry they ARE human and must be curious...i mean this blog is all about THEM and the attention ho that he is...how could he not resist...course they couldn't make it TOTALLY obvious by changing their mode of dress, and it would take more than seeing in a blog about their weight for them to make a complete 180 in their lifestyle - eating and exercise, with the exception of Meri, who has apparently done it before.
DeleteHey Birdwoman!
DeleteIf you can give more details of the episode, like whose bedroom it was, what the show's theme was, I'll try to find that pesty wic coupon.
As for Robyn's head shape, I've always thought she reminded me of Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor. I read that her jaw was so big, if you sat behind her you could see her jaw bones sticking out from her neck.
There's an action movie star who married a beautiful actress. Their girls inherited their mother's beautiful, delicate features -- stuck on their father's big old head and square face.
The bedroom would have to be Robchin's or Christine's because they are the only ones with children under age 3. I believe that is the cut off age for WIC. Maybe the episode that showed Robchin's dresser. Maybe she keeps her WIC coupons next to her bling?
DeleteSol wasn't yet born in S2 - it would be Christine if what you say about WIC is so (not doubting you, I just don't know much about the program).
DeleteOr perhaps the WIC coupons go into the common pot...?
Oops forgot to put in my predictions for the next group of shows (season or half season what ever you want to call it...)
ReplyDelete1) the surrogacy storyline gets dropped like a hot potato. Either just mentioned in passing by Meri saying "thanks but no thanks" or never addressed again. They've pretty much milked THAT one.
2) House drama continues. Again the Browns are "approved" for a loan from an "alternative funding source" with a high down payment and Kody finds an excuse other than "we can't afford it".
3) Logan starts college, maybe that's one reason they chose to wait until November to air this block of shows - since school probably started for him in late August. I just hope they allow him a modicum of privacy and not follow him around his classes - he doesn't seem to be a limelight-seeker like his dad and some of the wives (I think Janelle doesn't exactly relish the attention, personally).
4) Meri getting ready for her 5k and running/walking it in a big old layered sweatsuit - maybe a LIV sweatsuit like the ones they are wearing in their LIV website pics (also a reason for the late premiere date)
5) no one getting pregnant. No additional wives. A lot of footage of Sol and Truely since they are the only two kids who can't possibly object to being filmed. Like Janelle, I'm getting the idea that most of the older kids don't exactly relish the camera time anymore...
6) the trip they took to Missouri or whereever it was, earlier this summer. (NOT any of the Disneyland trips though, since it is apparent that Disney was NOT going to permit filming on their property - perhaps they toured hollywood or something and it was filmed, but my thought is that would have been on TMZ or another gossip site).
7) the finale - will be them deciding for good what to do about the housing situation and perhaps beginning to discuss a move back to Utah...perhaps that IS in the works but they want to spend the very last episode on that...remember the Sol birth episode aired only a couple-3 weeks after the birth...the cliffhanger this time will be all about the housing situation.
DakotaJustice,
DeleteYour #2 and #7 make perfect sense. All boo-hoos about either not getting approved...or not being able to cough it up after they are approved. Oh, the trauma of not getting their mini-mansions.
Tears and more tears.
Then the re-drama of "telling the kids" and the struggle to come to grips with moving again. At least we won't have to hear a soundtrack of police sirens chasing them out of town again this time.
And if I remember correctly, Logan had really liked the Utah college too before choosing to stay in Vegas, so perhaps a side-drama as Logan considers changing colleges to again be with the family. More tears.
Setting the stage for next season's "Life back in Utah"
Plus as you said, lots of travel fluff-stuff to fill up the episodes.
And of course, throw in Meri's walk. That alone, knowing her love of attention...the before, during and after...should be good for at least three yawning episodes.
CJ - the late tobacco heiress Doris Duke always comes to mind when I see Robyn's profile. same unfortunate square jaw.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I forgot about Doris! But that lady knew what her best angles were and always looked impeccably rich.
DeleteMy personal opinion is that they will not be going back to Lehi until all this court drama is done and over with. If they do move back then that proves that they are not really afraid for their rights, which messes up their entire case. If anything they will be talking "wistfully" about their Lehi home and how much they miss it and how they still feel that they can't return due to fear of prosecution and the possibility of being broken up.
ReplyDeleteI don't think their show is coming back at all. There are way to many months between seasons. Last season felt empty of any content. I think the show is done.
ReplyDeleteI don't think their show is coming back at all. There are way to many months between seasons. Last season felt empty of any content. I think the show is done
DeleteTLC has already announced that the season starts up on November 11, 2012, so the show will be back.
As far as the months between seasons, I went to Amazon to see just how much time elapsed between "seasons".
Season 1: 1st episode aired on 9/26/10, last episode on 11/21/10.
About 119 days later, season 2 starts...
Season 2: 1st episode aired on 3/20/11, last episode on 6/5/11.
About 112 days later, season 3 starts...
Season 3: 1st episode aired on 9/25/11, last episode on 10/31/11.
About 195 days later, season 4 starts...
Season 4: 1st episode aired 5/13/12, last episode aired 6/24/12.
And now, approximately 140 days later, season 5 begins on 11/11/12.
So the longest gap was between season 3 and season 4 at 195 days = over 6 months.
As far as a season being empty of any content, well, that pretty much describes every season of Sister Wives, in my opinion.
So, if the producers are reading this, can we have less Kody and more about the relationship between the Sister Wives and the kids this next season? You still have 60 days to re-edit the episodes. Thank you!
"195 days later, season 4 starts..."hahahah Talk about a show desperately trying to find content within Kody's worls! Agree that they should focus more on the wives, noone is really that interested in Kody, his hair or his car. Also I don't know why they don't instill the Dargers or that other couple that had 5 kids and were thinking about getting another wife into the show.
DeleteIt seems that the whole family is unemployed so
ReplyDeleteI would think some image improvements are forth-
coming. For a city as large as LV, the teen- agers could also find some part=time work to help out with their clothes and school expenses.
The SW definitely need to take control, dump the washed out look and spiffy up to go out into the business world. Wonder if they're still working out at the gym. Christine looked thinner.
IMHO Kody needs to dump the scuffy look that is 20 yrs overdue. Does this religion prohibit makeup?? Looks like they have a chamoagne appetite on a beer pocketbook.
Actually I don't think Kody reads here or anywhere very much. I don't see him really reading on the show, or dealing with paperwork at all. The computer was a bummer of a present for him perhaps because he doesn't read well. Computers require some skill with writing, reading, spelling. I think he is really challenged in the reading area. It's not just his hyperactivity, it seems like a real problem.
ReplyDeleteSeason is six weeks long?
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing is that they are instilling a pretty sorry work ethic in their children. In my family, my children worked part time jobs and both saved money to buy cars and defer the cost of their senior expenses. When they were in college, they both worked to defer the cost of their living expenses. I cannot imagine not teaching my children to work hard to contribute. They are really irresponsible in their child rearing as they are with their own social obligations of being honest and law abiding...etc.
I think the back to Lehi, UT plot will never happen. Kody actually thinks he is a celebrity and loves the glitz of the strip. All the convertables in that family speak to their narcisisum of being on display. As for moving back to Lehi because it's in the best interest of the kids...like Kody has ever considered his kids best interest. It's all about Kody and his "planet". The spirit children are just a means to the end.
ReplyDeleteThe move back to Lehi won't be a matter of celeb status - it will be a matter of no other choice. They own the house there, and haven't put it on the market, even to buy in LV. Obviously (at least to me) it's their fallback/fail safe if/when the Vegas term ends its run...
DeleteI think they are saving it just in case.with those plyg houses the aub stake helps, labor virtually free. Cheap land in lehi.and supplies at cost. Unless they refinanced the house before moving.i think they have some equity. They could also do something similar to rent to own for the tenant, having the ability to buy it after a set number of years. That allows then to buy some time. I am not surprised
DeleteBased on my research last time through public records, the current value of the Lehi home and the total amount of mortgages on the home...well...I'm no real estate expert, but I'd say they were pretty well underwater as they owe almost 2x as much as their house is now worth, if memory serves. So they've pretty much used the equity in their house at this point. HELOC madness.
DeleteTrue that, DJ
ReplyDeleteFail safe yes, in my professional opinion they must be extremely upside down in that house in Lehi, lots of negative equity Isn't one of Meri's sisters the one that is renting the Lehi house?
that's what I heard. I agree with you that they are more than likely upside down, however last i checked there is no foreclosure activity on the property, so they must be keeping up with the payments...jeez if I was the Browns, I'd be using my TLC money to pay off the house completely...but that's just me.
DeleteTrue that Kody may love the glitz and 'show' of Vegas, but by now, he (they) really aren't anything special any more. What celeb status do they have, really?
ReplyDeleteKody is a not too bright nor classy nor interesting guy with four different beds to hop between.
He has 17 kids under four different roofs.
He doesn't work.
He loves being center stage.
He and his family are on a low budget reality show that has by now shown all their main details.
So what real status does he have left? Vegas is filled with people and "shows" much more enticing and "wow" than the Browns.
However, they have chosen to keep the Utah lawsuit going, so one wonders if going back there is part of their plan. Whether for financial purposes since they do own property there and could expand that house....
Or because back there they surely would be right back in the media spotlight via the legal dealings and with the support of like-minded plyg groups.
Who knows??
You know, I wonder about his job with Young Electric Sign Company that he claims he lost once he did the show...because they didn't know he was a polygamist, or chose to do the show? did he actually lose his job or did he leave thinking that his celebrityness (LOL) would have him set for life? Janelle didn't lose HER job until she was dragged to Vegas with the rest of the troop.
DeleteI'm just wondering...Kody is neither the sharpest tool in the shed (he is a tool IMO however, just not a sharp one!) nor has he shown indications of being a hard, productive worker/salesperson/employee. Soooo did he leave or was he asked to leave? I doubt they could fire him because of his living situation...I'm guessing he either chose to leave or was flat out given notice...maybe he was already on warning...it would be interesting to find out.
Good point DJ. I remember Kody said that he lost accounts at his former job when he went public, but I don't remember him specifically saying he had been terminated. Maybe the lawsuit has the answer. Anyone want to review it again?
DeleteY'know, even though it's against the law, unless one is marrying underage girls or out and out welfare fraud is being committed, I doubt that Utah in general sees polygamy the same as, say, drunk driving, cooking meth in one's house or what have you. Again - Janelle didn't lose HER job - and it was with the government or some sort of government entity for crying out loud! Nope, I think that if the employer and the "big account" which was a bank I believe, considered Kody an exemplary employee, they wouldn't have asked to be transferred to another account rep. Nope, I think they had already had issues with Kody and all the show was, was the last straw. I can totally see Kody not getting deliverables in on time, being unavailable at critical times etc. He is a shiftless layabout who does the minimum IMO. not going the extra mile. I just read his comments regarding his leaving (or termination or whatever) in a post last July I think? and it's all freaking HEARSAY. just his and Meri's spin on it. And of course since employee/employer relations are considered private, we will never really know what happened. sheesh.
DeleteHaHa DJ! I just rewatched the episode when the family went to Wyoming (Yoming in case Robyn's reading this) and Kody made the comment he was supposed to go back to work but since he was now alone in the house he was going to stay at home. It just reminded me of what Janelle said in their book about Meri and Kody in the early years of their marriage: that they would take time off from work to go on trips not caring that the time off would be unpaid. Seems to me that if he really cared about his job, he would go back to work and finish out the day and make up for the time he wasn't there.
DeleteJust one more straw that broke the proverbial camel's back I wonder.
HA! I do remember that now you mention it CJ!!! I wonder how his boss at Young Electric Signs felt about THAT...when they saw it aired on TV? (he might have already been sh*tcanned by then...?) maybe that day he had calls waiting, assignments/accounts due and he decided to sit on his azz at home and announce it on TV. yup there's a great employee for ya! LOL!!! Just like those people who call in "sick" at work then post on their Facebook that they are at Disneyland having fun...not remembering that coworkers are on their friends list. hahaha
DeleteI think Janelle and Christine look at him and think, "I married an imbecile because he was AUB and good looking. Now I am stuck with him through time and eternity."
ReplyDeleteFor the third time I am watching the
ReplyDeleteFirst two seasons.
1. Christine ..not meri..said Kody deserves a trophy wife.
2. Kody ..Meri and Janelle address their jobs
3. They all addressed the sex issues.
What bothers me is how they reference more to living a "lifestyle "than their religion.
The AUB may have legally put a stop to that.
if you look at blog posts from last year, you will see that what they said in the show regarding the loss of their jobs differs from what they stated in their legal documents filing against the state of Utah. Been awhile since I watched the first two seasons, but based on Christine's meltdown and the very informative interview during the last show of this past season, I would say that Christine was just parroting the party line set by Meri. In fact, it is interesting to me, that during the first season, the fam was able to hold it together and pretend (IMO) that everything was going swimmingly, everyone happy and content with their lives, all one big happy family. But as time went on...they couldn't maintain that facade. The wives AND most of the kids started gaining weight. Christine admits to suffering from depression since Robyn joined the family. Janelle not saying much but being stressed and suffering in mute, stoic silence (I remember one shot of her sitting at a table eating from a big cookie sheet loaded with peanut butter fritos and not looking at all happy). It's like the shiny rock was flipped over and shows the maggots festering underneath. I think the Browns believed that they could maintain the facade as long as the show was on the air...but they can't. Especially the children...they can't even pretend to be happy most of the time. We've seen fistfights, bloody noses, kids sitting with zero reaction to "family announcements" such as buying a house etc. the first two seasons - especially the first season - is just a facade. The truth is coming out with each ensuing show. They aren't actors, and their bodies and eyes are telling the truth. Only Kody (and perhaps Robyn to an extent) is happy really IMO. he has the attention he wants right now. Reminds me of Octomom a bit. I'm guessing that once the show coagulates to its conclusion, Kody will be doing whatever he can to stay in the public eye, good or bad, because he craves constant attention...
DeleteBy the way,
ReplyDeleteLast night, I went to a local retail store and I ran into a group of the Duggar kids. They were all modestly dressed, well behaved, and all working together to fill the grocery cart. One of the little boys, about ten or eleven, put his arm around his sibling and said, this here is my best friend. I wanted to take a picture and send so you guys can see them locally but it was just the kids and I feel about the Duggar kids like I feel about my own, no one should photograph them without parental consent. But when I see the mom, dad, or older kids out, it's open season.
That's really sweet, and the feeling I get from them from the tv show. I know so many criticize them, but I believe they genuinely love one another. What I like the most is the parents telling them individually what they like about the child, and mentioning that what they did was good and appreciated. That's the way to get them to repeat good behavior. I like the Brown kids too, but the difference in the younger ones is noticeable. Kudos to all who raise with praise.
DeleteBC I beg to differ. Please google "to train up a child", and read what methods the Quiverful movement uses (which the Duggars are part of).
DeleteI personally would love to see a wife swap situation between the 2 families. Michelle Duggar could go live with Kody Brown's children for two weeks while Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robin could live with Jim Bob. Maybe the sister wives could get some insight on how to live conservatively with all their children under one roof if they insist on living this insane lifestyle. They might also learn how to actually practice and embrace what ever religion they claim to follow. It certainlywould make the next season more interesting.
DeleteMy husband suggested a cross over between Sister Wives and Keeping up with the Kardasians. He suggested Kris Jenner go to Las Vegas and all four sister wives go to LA. Personally, I vote Mariah go live with the Jenners and Kendall go to Las Vegas. Now that would be worth watching! Otherwise, I doubt they will come up with anything interesting enough to make me return to this train wreck. Which is now a boring train wreck.
DeleteI know this is off topic. But, I have to ask. Is there any blogs on here about Joseph Smith being a con man? I am reading Wife No 19 by Ann Eliza Young. And she doesn't have a lot of nice things to say about Joseph Smith. Which makes me curious about him. lol
ReplyDeleteMy prediction for the new season....
ReplyDeleteAnd it's guaranteed to be jaw-droppingly shocktacular....
Kody gets a (wait for it)...
Buzzcut!
Lol...I just flashed on that iconic moment in that classic (?) film "In the Army Now" when Pauly Shore gets his mop chopped, turns around, looks in the mirror and...the face... "do I look like a baked potato?" lol
DeleteC J .. Remember when she was showing a picture of Kody and the three wives.. she asked Brianna .."who is this".. Bruanna responded.. "Daddy".. she tried to cover it up with a "what did you say?".. Brianna corrected heself.. saying "Kody".
ReplyDeleteRobyn's manipulation will be the unsettling of this family.
My Mother is watching this over and over.... she is obsessednpw with trying to figure them all out!!!!
Wrong order, unfortunately. Brianna first called him Kody. After Robyn corrects her with a slightly aggresive "Who", Brianna then calls him Daddy. Robyn was training her children to call her soon-to-be husband a.k.a. their STEPdad Daddy. Makes you wonder how their real dad felt when he saw that episode, huh? Now the always call Kody daddy. Way to brainwash!
Delete"AKA their STEPdad"
DeleteExcept not really…according to the law of the land thay are not married. Not sure what that makes Kody to Brianna, but is isn't step dad
Anon 12:01 says..."She has a good man to take care of all her needs...."
ReplyDeleteUhhh, not really. She has a man who had 3 other "wives" to uhh, take care of.
Except that he is also a man who doesn't like to work and whom in the past relied on his other wives' welfare bennies, inheritances and paychecks to 'take care' of them and then yet another wife and her three kids.
He also preens like a girly-man.
(tried to post this on the "reply" under that post but couldn't)
Robyn a beautiful woman? We are all jealous of what they have?! No thank you! They can have that gross uneducated boy. As for judging they choose to be out. Unfortunately there looks and style are going to be judged. Go back to the TLC interview Robyn did when she first laid eyes on Kody. She said "He's probably an idiot"!
ReplyDeleteFirst time poster here, but I like a lot of you have started watching the show again and I am so angry at the way Robyn elbowed her way into this family ie demanding equal time w a married man who just had a BABY. And Meri throwing wives on top of deep fertility issues w/ no regard for the consequence.
ReplyDeleteIt is not jealousy that make me post here. I post on here and read these blogs because I believe that polygamy is harmful to women around the world. Flat out. I am frustrated by the appaling lack of finacial planning the family exhibits as well as the dynamics of the family that are supressive, flat and also fake.
ReplyDeletePolygamy is mentioned in the Bible but it never had a good outcome. It is not something that will get me to Heaven. Jesus paid my price many years ago. I need not allow my husband to pick and choose more woman at his fancy to add to our family so that I can attain a higher level of my Heaven. It is a man made doctorine. It is false.
Jesus did not say that he is the light and the way only if you have two other sister wives or if you are a man with three wives.
Women need protection and support in this world. Everyday around our globe girls young and old are abused, murdered and enslaved. Polygamy in my opinion allows for silent victims to exist. It is a tool of power over women.
What I read in the Bible tells me that a good wife is worth her weight in Rubies. It also commands my husband to love me as Christ loves his church. I am valuable to my family. The need me as there is no one else that can fill my spot.
I guess polygamists could argue the same point...that they are irreplacable in their families, but honestly, boiled down, a husband will continue to sleep with another wife if you were not there. Someone else will cook and clean and care for the kids.
The value of a wife should be so great to a man that he understand that he can only have one.
As far as their weight issues, maybe in Utah they had to cook and eat home more since take out wasn't as readily available. But in LV, nothing is ever closed so take out is available at all hours (obviously, if you can get lunchables delivered).
ReplyDeleteBut they should have some pride in their appearances unless Kody whooped it out of them with his rude comments. Who really knows what goes on when the cameras aren't rolling???
Has Meri lost weight? I see she is planning on doing a 5k run this month. You have to be in pretty good shape to do that!
DeleteIt's only 3 miles or so, and probably a run/walk. Not a marathon.
DeleteMy husband makes fun of me for watching the show but I can't help it. I feel for the kids and want to see what happens to them. I personally think the Kody and Meri should just be a monagomous couple and he should set the other three free. Meri and Kody seem to be the only two with any kind of real connection.
ReplyDeleteI sympathize with Anon 12:01 in that I don't think there should be rude comments made about anyone's looks - period. It's no better than schoolyard bullying. Frankly I don't enjoy reading those posts. But,
ReplyDelete- as far as well behaved children...not from what is seen on their show. Perhaps they are better behaved when cameras are not around. We can only hope so.
- jealous? Have you not been reading this blog all along? That's the farthest thing anyone here feels. Pity, absolutely that perhaps in this day & age a woman would allow herself and her children to be used as nothing more than a "tool" for a man's notion to get to a crazy celestial planet.
My predictions(or wishful thinking, you decide):
ReplyDelete1) Janelle discloses an affair and leaves the family either for the new mate or to be on her own. Her and Christine enjoy one last batch of peanut butter fritos before she leaves.
2) Robyn displays a flaw that Kody had not seen before. He becomes permanently grossed out by her similar to how he felt about the nacho incident with Christine. She continues to live in a house by herself, using the profits of sister wives closet.
3) Due to financial difficulty Kody decides he, Christine, and Meri will share a house. Christine and Meri face-off. Meri loses and although stays in the family and in the house, she frequently goes on trips with the MLM in order to avoid Christine, who now holds all the power. Christine and Kody are left as the only real couple. Christine decides to be head of the household, she will have the celestial planet.
Its funny, until recently I really liked Meri, but she's turning out to be kind of a brat woman isn't she? I still feel for her and her fertility struggles, I don't think Robyn carrying her child will help her (Judging by the group dynamics of the show I'm assuming if Robyn carried a kid for Meri it'd push Christine and Janelle further away. I could be wrong though.)
ReplyDeleteRobyn has bothered me for a while, she does really hide behind sweetness, shows an occasional bitchy side and pretty much just seems like a highschool drama queen. I think it'd be really hard for ANY self respecting woman to like her after the episode when Truly was born- I mean, not that I'd ever be in this situation but if they care as much as they act like they do wouldn't it have proven what a nice person she was if she was like "With Christine so close to having her baby why don't we wait until after the baby is born to see each other?" A week on hold from "courting" seems like small beans compared to the birth of a child. No wonder poor Christine feels so threatened by Robyn.
Its hard to take their financial situation seriously when they're still finding money for houses and starting up businesses isn't it? Or when they go rent houses JUST for holidays. Don't whine about money on national television then in the next scene be renting a ski lodge or whatever (I know, seasons ago but still.)
I do wonder where they are going with this next season. Because while I'll still watch because now I'm "invested" lol, I can't really see anything more interesting happening in the future. It'd be great if Meri got IVF but don't really want to watch the Krody love fest over that. Meri and Krody are like that couple that you double date with and are constantly concerned about where their hands are.
Hmmm. I'm not for sure what will happen in the upcoming season. I'm just grateful for the one and only husband I've got.
ReplyDeleteCurious, though. Why doesn't the family just go and fellowship with the Mormon church in their city? I live in Dickinson, ND where the oil boom has affected growth. The Mormon church here has people from their own faith and right now has AUB and Fundamentalist Mormons worshipping under the same roof.
Why doesn't the family just go and fellowship with the Mormon church in their city?
DeleteJanelle already tried. In the midseason finale, Janelle suggested to Kody that if Logan goes to college in Utah, he should attend an LDS church for religious guidance.
Kody got all upset - said that Logan was a plyg kid and Mormons can't stand polygamists. Kody nixed that idea pronto.
CJ, I forgot about that -- interesting you brought it up! If the Browns really aren't trying to enforce polygamy on their children (as they claim), then why not encourage Logan to attend the LDS church if that's what he wanted? I seriously doubt anyone would be MAD at someone attending their church, for crying out loud.
DeleteNow if it was Kody & Krew waltzing in and rubbing peoples' faces in their plyg marriage, that's different, but Logan attending church on his own? Why would anyone care? I would think they'd welcome him to their faith. It really makes me question Kody's assertion that they would be ok with their children abandoning the polygamist lifestyle.
Also, TLC producers, if you are reading this: I would donate money if you had a charity drive wherein Kody is forced to get a haircut once a certain amount of money is raised. (No one here considers the Brown family to be a charity FYI, so this money can't go in their "DISNEYLAND fund").
I can't go back and easily find episodes, but, didn't robin say that it wasn't live at first sight? Merit is the one who planted the seed of a 3 wife. I was walking my son to school and thought of a possible story line. Robin does become meri's surrogate. They will say its because Meri listened to the Holy Ghost about robin coming into the family. It was all gods plan because he knew that Meri had another spirit for her to mother and robin was to be the vessel in which that child could come into the family.
ReplyDeleteWe definitely know christine is jealous. When she made the trophy wife comment I thought it was a true revelation of her jealousy and what she was telling herself to get past the thought of kody with someone new. A trophy wife isn't really "loved" by a man. Where is there to look good which makes him look better ( or so he thinks).
I don't think Christine has gotten over the fact that Robin really mislead her when they went to help her pick a wedding dress. In the end she had kody help her with the dress. The two of them lied by omission and all the wives felt betrayed. I just think meri and janelle were better at turning off their feelings. There was an episode that got under my skin, when Robin said she "acts" needy for kody, so he feels needed.( not exact words, story) Its no wonder Robin feels left out. I would have a hard time befriending someone I didn't trust.
The weight gain of the sister wives leads me to believe that they are incredibly stressed. Comfort eating was their way of trying to comfort themselves and ignore how they really felt.
I often wonder how much of what we see is real. They did this to be the face of polygamy, and show the world they are just like us. But, that isn't what happened.
The women never seem to address their true feelings or where the feelings came from. The tension between them that they think they can hide is going to build and build until someone snaps.
The last thing is about what they have said about the court and the state investigating them. How HARD it was on all of them especially the children. If that was true, why are they continuing to take the state to court. If that was happening to me, the last thing I would want to do is create a reason to go to court.
I'm just sayin'....
As the new season begins, perhaps there is a
ReplyDeletecollege that has a spare dorm with six stories,
the first floor with common rooms, then a floor
per family and maybe an extra for Kody.
I'd like to see each of the SW set up a 'common-law' home to escape to. What's the difference!!Just read the Octomom rented a 7 bed place out in the desert. Maybe a ranch would do. Area 51 may have a spare.
Form follows Function. Meri should look for a
nice condo close to the action. Very cosmopolitan
with her small family.
Each sister wive prepare for her future= get active, take some classes.
