I Scour the Internet: The Post Super Bowl Pre Mardi Gras Edition 2/7/13

Let's see....it's been over a month since the season finale of Sister Wives.

Looks like the Dargers are stepping up to the challenge of being PFOTUS by making appearances in the courtroom where the Browns lawsuit is being heard, now that poor Kody Brown is still too afraid to step a foot back in  Utah. Yeah, right....

Trust me Kody. Being a pretend surfer dude is not a hanging offense in Utah, at least not this week. And from what I can tell, there are no laws against bad haircuts, either. So you're safe...at least for now.

So what have the Browns been up to this past week or so?

Looks like Robyn is still making friends and influencing enemies (or is that making enemies and influencing friends?) ANYWAY, she's up to her old twitter tricks. She must have gotten a book of quotations for Christmas. Now I can understand the frustration of not being able to tell anyone about moving into her McMansion in the cuddle sac, but it looks like she wants to rub all the little people's faces in it. I mean, not even reality 'star' and real-life Countess, Luann DeLesseps would stoop so low as to twitter this philosophical quote to her fans:

I mean, really! What's next...Let them eat cake? Well, to quote the Countess DeLesseps,

"Money can't buy you class...Elegance is earned, my friend"

Right back at ya, Robyn!

Just like last season, Robyn has taken it upon herself to let everyone know the status of her TV show Sister Wives...which means there is no status. But don't tell her that, it will blow her mind!

Hmmmm....guess Robyn didn't have time to read the EXCLUSIVE report by hollywoodlife.com that TLC announced season 4 was a definite go. Hey Robyn! Here's a link for you and your fans!
Hollywoodlife.com: TLC Renews ‘Sister Wives’ For Fourth Season

I don't know about you guys, but I think this just shows that Robyn definitely has got the smarts needed to make her Sister Wife's Closet a major success. In fact, she even takes the time to lecture a previously troublesome bonus child how being a success takes more than just dumb luck.

I think maybe Hunter would have appreciated a simple "Way to go!" but you got to admit that if anyone should know about dumb luck, it would be Robyn...

On the Meri homefront, we see that she's already testing out that wet bar/pastry counter space in her luxurious McMansion. Well, I think it's Meri's McMansion. At least it looks like Meri's furniture, but there's that weird photograph of Robyn's wedding on the mantle.

If you look closely, you can see 2 empty bottles of the green koolaid hanging out on top of the massive fireplace mantle, too. So who's McMansion is this?

To prove just how wrong those nasty rumors are that the teens don't like to party at her house, Meri hosted a Sadie (Hawkins maybe?) party at her McManse and tweeted about it.

Well, actually not too surprising since those kids most likely saw what happened to poor Drake. I would be scared into being quiet, too. I bet there was not one spill on her perfect furniture and standard carpeting, either.

Christine tweeted a picture of her Super Bowl desserts...

Love your expensive serving china, just like mine!

And Janelle burned the granola she was making (lets hope it was a low calorie recipe)

I just munched on celery sticks and olives...So that's all for now, everyone. And remember, I scour the internet so you don't have to!

They truly live like "poor" people. They just do not realize it. Nobody with wealth makes the kind of thoughtless decisions they make. The homes they bought are unaffordable. They should have bought homes they could afford without a penny from TLC. I am torn between wanting to educate them & watching them as though they are a social experiment in poor financial decisions made by people that come into a windfall.

  2. You would think with some of the money they have earned they might pay someone to teach them how to pose in photos. Trying to look like a bunch of college students is not working, and Kody please close your mouth nothing of much sense comes out of it.

    1. I agree with you. They look ridiculous. They're about twenty years too old to pose like that. It makes them appear desperate to be cool and like they can be themselves.

By the way, I've noticed in the book and on their show that Christine & Meri appear compete over who has the "hang out" house. Its sooo stupid!!

      Delete
    2. Seriously, who would want to hang out at Meri's house? I'd be worried about ruining all of her "nice things.". Christine seems more laid-back and fun.

  3. I'm not sure which is worse...the awkward group photo or Meri's description of it: "hanging with my Sister Wives peeps throwing deuces". Sure thing Meri- glad you and the peeps had fun at the deuce throwing wetbar party! Rock on...

  4. Sadies date night sponsored by Meri? LOL... that means the girls ask the guys right? I wonder if there were Darger boys gracing their presence and eating Meris goodies off the wet bar on paper plates? Quiet? Meri? Where are s my prescription medications for my adhd? Crud! Looks like you poured them out on a plate as after dinner mints again. Hey kids, anyone here want to run laps around my Four back yards, I have four wives you know, one more then Papa D!

Yes, indeed....Here is a blinding example of Kodyworld arrogance and entitlement mentality. Rather hard to undo such a crass statement with excuses!!

A question for Robyn....Exactly who is your "Revenge" directed at...??
    Your ex-husband?
    The adoring fans?
Anyone who hasn't been a sport and bought any of your over-priced, under-value Closet junk?
Anyone who hasn't signed up to drink and sell the Green Goo?
All the taxpayers who have literally "paid" your and your "sisters" debts...and likely will have to again?
Anyone who finds the lifestyle repugnant of one non-working man having a willing harem, and then producing scores of children whose mothers cannot feed them and therefore must lie and cheat on forms to get others money to feed their children?

Exactly where is your revenge directed?? Inquiring minds want to know..!!

But "living well?" By purchasing houses you most certainly cannot afford and waiting for the shoe to drop, forcing you and your kids and your surfer-dude boyfriend to look for residency elsewhere?! If that's "living well," I'm doing it wrong.

    3. I agree with Anon 12:17. While Chris may be an okay cook taste-wise (in her family's opinion), her presentation definitely leaves something to be desired. If you are going to proudly post food on Twitter, please make it look good. Use good lighting, a good camera, good dishes ... Otherwise it's not going to look very appealing sometimes. While these probably tasted ok, they do not look worthy of being posted for all the world to see ... at all.

  11. Sigh, I really like Janelle. I can't figure out why she continues to hang out with these losers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think Janelle thrives on going against the norm, and she is seriously stubborn. She is the only one of the bunch that was not raised in this lifestyle, but chose it. She's a bit eccentric, it seems to me. As a young adult, she got really into studying the lifestyle/history of Native Americans, started dressing the part and even decided she'd live in a teepee for a year. She set up a teepee on Kody's dad's property, and she lasted all of one night, as it was freezing cold outside. This is all according to Janelle, in the book. This was before she married Kody, but they knew each other. Kody referred to it as her "cowboys and Indians phase." haha. How deep.

      Delete
    2. Actually Kody wasn't raised in the lifestyle either. His parents "converted" while he was on LDS mission if memory serves?

      Delete
    3. Also, I think her children and Christine's are close.

    4. Plus her Mom is married to Kody's Dad. I think she feels stuck so she tries to make the best of it.

Its a classic case of a woman having more children than she afford to support. If she had no children, she would walk. But, wait. There's another tether keeping here there and miserable. Their religion teaches that Kody will be a God & HE calls her to heaven. She's not going anywhere.

    6. Anyone else notice how the trainer is holding on to Janelle. Hmm just sayin

      Delete
    7. After reading her part of the book, I also think Janelle is truly in love with Kody. (No accounting for taste.) I think she's deluded herself into thinking that there is something special between them. For his part, Kody has each of the women compartmentalized Janelle is the business-savy one, Christine is the fun-loving one & polygamy royalty, Meri keeps the organized, quiet home. Robyn's the new hot piece. ooops... I didn't say that. Yes I did.

I hope they are enjoying the culdesac as it makes it easier for all the kids to see each other. I think the show should be different too with the familie(s) all close again. One family would live in one house though I think the culdesac is the next best thing. If I was a plural I would want to live in my own home as you need a little peace and quiet every now and then by yourself. 10. Hi Sinister Drives
Lol, didn't get "lost" in Utah & it was beautiful!! Yep, I got some pics of there house in Lehi & their church. Although my husband was concerned about driving down that long windy very narrow road(no easy place for a quick turnaround if needed..lol)to the AUB church which was kinda creepy....LOL After U exit off the main highway to the AUB church road, there's a construction/lumber company at the very front entrance, then a lil ways down is like a Veterans memorial site, then before U get to the church there's a lil road that leads to an Equestrian Lessons stable. All around the church land, there were compound looking houses set up. It was actually kinda creepy driving to it. Honestly if we didn't have GPS, we would've never found it. Thanks to the SWB admins, they were able to give me the AUB address to put in the GPS :) IMO, Basically w/o GPS,U would have to know exactly where it is to be able to get to the church, otherwise U would have no clue whats down there. Also, there was No church sign out front, but parking lot was full of cars.
We got back earlier this week & I just haven't had a chance to upload them.Plus I kinda wanted to add a lil "story telling" to my pics about my visit to Lehi. Just tryna get my thoughts in order. So I may repeat some of this in my post..lol
I didn't see any of the Browns tho...
But there's definitely people living in their Lehi house, b/cuz there were 3 vehicles parked in the driveway & there were lots of footprints tracked in the snow of their front yard. So definitely lots of traffic. I'll send in the photos to SWB admin soon so they can post them. :)

    2. They are so delusional, they won't really use those licenses to work stable jobs. Didn't Christine say something like she was so excited because with her license she was going to be able to help pay bills?
Just the way Robyn pays bills with her sales. Seriously, how much can they make a month on sales, 2-4 thousand dollars? only enough to pay the bills of one family.
Whatever they happen to make with their real state "jobs" or with their sales will go faster than it came. It would be extra cash for their nails and extra fatty food. Nothing to really help their horrible financial future.

    1. I'm in your generation and I don't have any idea...I googled it and this explanation from Essence.com appears to be the best...

"From big Usher to little Usher Raymond V — how adorable is that boy! — everyone is throwing up "deuces" these days when posing for a picture. Whether you mean it as a sign of love from one friend to another, or you're a celeb trying to signal the paps to scram, the peace sign has evolved into something completely new and fun"

      http://www.essence.com/2011/03/15/celebrities-making-a-deuces-sign/

I'm thinking the Browns (and their new found friend Trainer Sean) think they are being "with it". Or maybe they are trying to look "ghetto" (to coin Mariah's favorite word). Who knows with these people....

      Delete
    2. my teenage daughter explained it to me as it's an "I'm out of here - see ya" kind of thing as well

      Delete
    3. Note that it is kind of a "peace" sign and represents the farewell, "Peace out." At least that is how my guide to a different generation explained it to me.

      Delete
    4. Putting up "deuces" means "peace out" as Kodak Brownie mentioned above. It was already a thing, but it became much more popular a few years ago when Chris Brown released a song called "Deuces" about getting out of a bad relationship, saying he was done and ready to throw up the deuces. Kody and the Kodependents look like such clowns, but you just know they think they are doing something super cool and hip. Tragic. Their poor kids are surely dying from embarrassment like I did as a teen when my dad would say Karate Kid quotes in front of my friends a decade after the movie came out. I'm not really young or really old (34), but to me they remind me of the old Dave Coulier gag from the old Nickelodeon show "Out of Control" where he would say "Cut...it...out!" and make scissors with his fingers.

      Delete
    5. Omg now I'm thinking of the film "Napoleon Dynamite" where his geeky brother Kip does the Peace Out thing trying to be cool. That's the way Kody is...

    Caramel Brownies
    apples n onions
    Orange Meri Wine
    Ko Lobsters

If one makes a sale a month, it would be fortunate. The earned commission is generally about 3%. Most agencies have a large sales staff so
it can be cut-throat competition. Like most businesses, the public gravitate
to the attractive associates who know their market.

Real estate agents work very hard. They have to be very organized, professional, self-motivated and willing to put a ton of work in, with NO promise of any kind of reward. The satisfaction is never immediate.

    1. One guy and six girls? I would say that counts as a date in Plygville. That one guy buddy has 1.5 times as many dates than Kodouche has wives (as he is so fond of telling everyone, he has FOUR wives!!). That makes the guy buddy 1.5 times the man that Kodouche is. Or roughly, half a man at best.

    1. I saw that, too. It was the author Lawrence Wright, talking about his book on scientology. They have a "re-education" place where many of their Execs are being held, some of them have been there for years. Even the wife of scientology's leader David Miscavige has been missing for several years. The FBI was going to raid this place and free everyone, and according to the author, they were told by former scientologists not to bother, because the people held there are so brain-washed, they will say they are fine, and won't want to leave. But many people who've left scientology, describe it as "escaping." So I'm sure there might be some in there that would like to be rescued. It speaks to the mind control, what he said about the "will" on the Colbert show.

They forbade the use of coffee or tea as stimulants, but they found an herb roadside during their travels and brewed it like tea. They actually called it "Mormon Tea". It happened that the herb they found was very stimulating...it was ephedra, similar in properties to amphetamines.

  39. OK. I've finished reading all the June 2011 posts and have a few questions/comments..

It was mentioned that there is a Jessop Lumber company in Nevada, and some fundamentalist group owns a lot of businesses in that State. Could that be how the Browns got funding for their McMansions. Could a Fundy builder have both built and financed them?? (I forget; is it AUB or FLDS that owns the businesses?)

How do we know they have interest only loans? Was that mentioned on the show?

Did SWB ever find out whether it was really Mariah who made some SWB comments? Why do people now think she is mean, and/or a miniature Meri? Back in June 2011 cemmenters thought she was nice.

Also, SWB has a vote on "favorite SW" back then, and Meri won! Would love to see how current readers rate the wives now, a year and a half later.

Many, many links and lots of valuable information was posted in June 2011 (as continues now!) I found a link to What Mormons Think of Women to be particularly interesting to me. Thanks, once again, to those who developed and work so hard on this blog!!

  40. I have just reread "Becoming Sister Wives". I do not care for Meri at all. And Robyn drives me nuts. However I did note on the rereading that each wife makes note of the fact that they use Robyn when communicating with Dody. They each state that she is a great mediator. Also that she can get each of their feelings "Validated". (heard that word a lot this season)So perhaps Meri was using Robyn to mediate her argument with Dody regarding the Partybar. I am sure Meri had ulterior motives and also that Dody feels ganged up on when the wives band together. But I think this was interesting. Also Meri stated that when she was in charge of the finances she divided the bills amongst the wives in proportion to how much income they each brought in. Therefore Janelle got the most bills on her plate. Meri was "working" part time and helping raise the kids (But Meri and Kodouche still got an allowance for spending) Now Meri states that all of the money should be divided equally and each wife should get the same regardless of how many kids or how much work is applied. This seems very self serving. Especially as Robyn came into the marraige with debt and no housing and is just getting a free ride. Janelle needs to clip some wings!!!!!!! One more entry of note by Meri. She states that as Mariah is going to be leaving the nest soon she (Meri) has 3 "goals" she can meet.
    1. Have a baby by Robyn. (Not gonna happen)
    2. Finish her college degree and work with emotionally endangered youth. (Or something to that effect of working with kids)
    3. TRAVEL WITH FRIENDS AND GO PLACES SHE HAS NEVER BEEN. AS A MISSIONARY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone want to place bets on what she will be doing. The WETBAR will be abandoned as quickly as her FAITH in polygamy.

    1. Hmmmm, when the show goes away, and they are back to being piss-poor. Let's see, she'll stick around for maybe a few years, bitching and moaning and making life as miserable as possible for Kody's latest wife. Then I think she does #3 on her list. She hits the road. Stays married, so she can get on that planet with Kody one day, but she is off to see the world, or the wizard, or she and Mariah will go work at Disneyland Paris or something.

  41. I was bored, so I did the math. If the Browns paid $450K per home, that's 1.8 million. If they put 40% down, the net balance is $720K. Their monthly payments would be just under $6K. Their required income for traditional financing would be $3,444 per month, per person. If they can't earn that much and their history, education and job experience has shown none of them can, then they will be stuck with high risk financing and in that case, they'll never pay off the homes. So there are two options. They'll either not pay off the homes or not pay off the homes, LOL. Its going to be a HUGE fight when the women have to figure out who loses their home first, LOL!!!!!!

Jodi Arias is a confessed murderer of a man she was obsessed with who happened to be Mormon. She will say ANYTHING to avoid getting the electric chair. I'm not saying the man she murdered was a saint, just that no human being deserved to be slaughtered for being a jerk.

What she is saying in court has nothing to do with Mormons, it has everything to do with how she is trying to manipulate the jury into believing SHE was the victim and that she killed a nude man taking a shower by stabbing him 29 times and slitting his throat in "self-defense".

Oh yeah, she also shot him point blank in the forehead.

I am not sure if she even knows what it is that she is saying or the subtext of that message. But, I'm sure that those she is exacting revenge upon are the ones who will get the last laugh. None of the Brown Clowns have the sense god gave a goose. They live for to day and have made no effort to secure a future for their children or themselves outside of their mcmansions. I will see this pipe dream flushed down the drain and finally the clowns will be seen for who they really are, grifters without any sense of tomorrow. The video clip of un aired footage of Kody giving Christine a watch that Robyn carried in her luggage now makes since. Remember the couch session where Kody discusses with Christine, and Meri and Jenelles faces were angry and priceless? I believe Christine was jealous of Robyn wearing Kodys watches, just one of her many grievances of Robyn, so Robyn and Kody got Christine a watch, Meri and Janelle thought it was indulging jealousy, remember the rough edges are suppose to be rubbed off like jealousy? Thats my take on it.

  52. Sorry for the kind of long post I'm about to write, but I need to vent. I FINALLY finished their book yesterday, and it was slow going. I'm a voracious reader and usually finish a book that short in a day. It took me a month to read their book. That's a month of my life that I'll never get back. The bad part is that I got so annoyed reading Robyn's chapters (I kept hearing her voice and seeing her blink forced tears) that I skipped all of hers except the last one that was about her and it still took a doggone month to read that drivel. I don't like any of them now and I used to kind of like Janelle and Christine, but reading the rationalization and justification for the low self esteem, insecurities, and the flat out crazy just turned me off to them. They wrote this book to show the world how functional and great their family was. They failed in my opinion.

In the latter part of the book it talks about Mykelti getting upset about the way Robyn was talked about on a website and posting a defense of her. Was that done here or does anyone know where it happened? It hurts my feelings for the kids to read what other people really think about their parents. I don't think the adults took that into consideration when deciding to do this show or if they did they minimized the damage it could do. Another reason for me not to suffer these fools gladly. I'll still watch, but only cause I like the kids and love reading SWB. The adults are just twits.

We know they don't make enough money or have credit for those mortgages. the only answer is more money was put down. I think they get paid for getting show and each time they get further in the legal system. By the time it gets decriminalized the browns will be paid off & have all the money they need. If they don't win they will still get paid not as much for bringing it out into open & putting good face on polygamy. All the different groups go to every hearing. Yes I think we are being played I don't think the show in their bonanza, the case is.

    2. I really think that as far as Kody's job at YESCO - he might have been asked to leave, not just because of the show, but because he was not exactly Mr. Hard Worker and of course he allowed that to be aired on the show - remember when he came home early (in S1 or S2) to ward off a crisis and he wasn't needed so he just decided to stay home the rest of the day? yup I bet his employers were thrilled to see THAT.

Also, he did state in the lawsuit that after the show aired, he lost at least one of his big accounts - they asked to be switched to a different account rep. Kody made it sound like it was the evil State of Utah or Lehi PD who was at fault, when really it was HIS OWN DAMN FAULT for doing the show to begin with - the reprecussions. Hey, if *I* had Kody for an AE and saw the way he behaved on TV (not even considering the polygamy factor - I think he makes a bigger deal of it than it actually is considered - because he likes to think of himself as a rebel) I'd ask to be switched to someone with a better work ethic too - someone who would be available when needed, which is what an account rep is supposed to do.

  56. Hi, Long time reader here, first time posting :) Watched SW from the beginning.
Its such a contrast to what they are doing now, and how they are living, from the first couple shows.
I don't believe much of whats going on, I don't care for them, but I do watch them. The house thing though does get me going. I remember buying our house (btw I'm 54, husbands 65) and the all the paperwork, credit checks, down payment, closing, points etc! and they are approved, boom! without real jobs?
Anyway, if you all haven't seen this, I found they were making $75000 Per Adult, Per Episode. I don't have my calculator handy, but that adds up to where they could afford those mcmansions I guess! Especially if they would be smart (but they are not) and put SOME away.

  57. 5th wife - I think you are really OVERESTIMATING how much money these fundamentalist groups really have at their disposal. The LDS of course has scads of money, they own tons of real estate etc. I know on "Big Love" Roman (the prophet) apparently had a lot of investments and what have you - but that's a fictionalized TV show. I really, really doubt the AUB has a lot of money at its disposal.

A few posts ago, one theory that was floated around was that the builder Pinnacle might have assisted with financing - enough so that the Browns are shown as the legal owners of the homes. I don't recall the exact details - I'd have to look it up again - but to me it made total sense. Really - think about it - what financial gain would be made to have polygamy legally 'decriminalized'? The AUB and other groups want polygamy to be limited just to them, not made available to everyone. I believe the answer is simple, the Browns are not getting that much money, the AUB does not have as much money/assets as people seem to believe. As far as them putting a "good face on polygamy" - I beg to differ. They're in it for the fast cash, pure and simple.

If memory serves, Pinnacle (the builders) paid WAY too much for the land that the homes were ultimately built on. Past comments indicated that the builder almost defaulted on the loan they had on the land...they HAD to build on it, but who is going to buy four crappy houses? There is some shifty tax stuff going on here, that's for sure. I think that the builders will end up repossessing the homes from the Browns as soon as they are unable to pay for them. The builders/lienholders are in the catbird seat right now and the Browns are in debt up to their eyebrows...but the truth will out, and the reason we keep watching this is because we want to see what happens at the end of this trainwreck.

    1. Your assessment is right about the amount of money AUB has at its disposal. After the Virginia Hill missing millions scandal, AUB had to ask its membership to fork out the money to pay the whopping fines. Some people gave up their pension money, and others took out loans. Really sad that sometimes quite poor people had to pay for the mistakes of crooks in AUB.

As for the source of the Brown's money, I don't buy into conspiracy theories - I think that what TLC pays, their MLM, their book royalties, money for special appearances, and the "joo-le-ry" would give them enough to at least get into the houses.

I agree. I think they got into the homes with large down payments, some creative financing, and possibly a couple different lenders, but that they got into them on their own. And when their TLC bubble bursts, they're going to find themselves - on their own, on the street, unable to afford the high costs of their McMansions.

  58. I agree with DJ on this.
Obviously these houses were not built on spec.
When a builder is sitting on unsold lots, is on the hook with the banks for having bought the lots and is already in debt to the engineers and architects and site development contractors, the builder needs to dump those houses, at least on paper, anyway he can.
Which makes it all the more disgusting that these adults chose to sink their temporary TLC windfall into inflated, mediocre McMansions instead of banking/investing the brunt of it for future bennies for their kids.
They can tweet all their silly ass pics from their new digs and send googled quotes to justify their greed and stupidity, but it won't change who and what they are.

They could have lived *less large* and actually had a portfolio for the future for their family.
Instead they are the modern day version of Jed Clampett and family in their McMansions and cee-ment ponds.

Robin's smug quote of "Living Well is the Best Revenge" apparently is now the Kodyworld mantra.
Maybe that will even be the next apron design??!!

Too bad they don't realize that *living smart* is a better revenge.
But that epiphany will never happen this self-serving crew.

    1. Wel we will have to see what happens. I think u will be surprised, when we find out who is supporting this family. The fundamentalist all the different sects have truckloads of money. They all have a stake in the law suit. There is a lot more to this then we know.
One thing we know is the browns
Can't pay them four mortgages on what TLC is paying them. The money comes from someplace. We know they haven't been saving their TLC money onless they have stock in disney.
Every season they do less episodes. Someone is financing the Brown clowns

    2. Amused - I don't even think they have room for a pool, based on the plan of the lots.

It was apparent to me, anyway, that the houses are of inferior design, cheap materials (at least based on the granite and other choices offered that aired on the show) and overpriced (i mean come on now - financing the washer/dryer on a 30 year note??), when they could have purchased pre existing homes of better quality for substantially less. It really shows a complete lack of taste and aesthetics - I wouldn't use either Christine or Janelle as my realtor(s) based on that.

    3. DJ - no room for any pool for sure. I've driven by and seen the layout of the cul-de-sac, as well as just looking at the other houses in the neighborhood. The Brown houses look to be horrendously overpriced. Two of the houses back up (less than 10 feet to the wall from the looks of it) to a busy highway with two lanes of traffic in each direction. There are beautiful homes in the area . . . just not these four.

I don't know anything about the fundamentalist sects, but I've been a church-going Christian for over 50 years. I've never been to a denominational church where money was in abundance. Even if a local church is not struggling, they are expected to send a portion of their income to support the bigwigs. Given the history of the Mormon sects, I would assume they are required to send at least 10% to their head honchos. Add in that many of these families' only source of income is the money they get from "bleeding the beast" (welfare), so they didn't have a lot to begin with, and they have to give a chunk to the church.

I don't think Kody and his Kodypendents have an abundance of money. They are banking on a future as "stars," much like Kate Gosselin (whose time seems mercifully to be over). I do think Kate was smart enough to save SOME of her money, but I don't see any evidence that the Browns know the meaning of delayed gratification. JMO.

    4. 5th wife - did you read what was previously stated by Anon 8:29 above?? The AUB is not rolling in dough, they have anywhere from 7500-10k members in the congregation. I assume most of those members are living paycheck to paycheck - not well off.

See what has already been said - and documented - that the AUB asked its members to pay off fines and folks cashed out their pensions, life savings etc to do so.

Sure they are supposed to be tithing 10% - but I doubt the sect is throwing them out if families can't afford to fully tithe. 7500 members, you would expect that includes women and children who don't earn a living. Tithing can only be done by members of the congregation who have an income.

Also from what I've read, the plyg sects that DO have money are the evil ones such as the Warren Jeffs sect. The ones that force the women and children to work menial jobs such as harvesting pecans etc.

The Browns have made it CRYSTAL clear that they, and their church, have NOTHING to do with such sects.

Nope - I believe there is creative financing going on between the Browns and Pinnacle (the builders)

Why else would they pay SO much more than the norm in the Vegas area for substandard homes next to a busy thoroughfare, with no room for a significant yard - all those kids need somewhere to play?
It works out well for all involved - the Browns get a paper saying they "own" their homes and Robyn can rub it in our faces (woooo yup). Pinnacle gets themselves out from under a crisis situation involving a probable default. And WHEN the Browns default - Pinnacle gets to keep the homes to resell or do whatever, although I doubt they'll be able to ask $440k for each one.

And again an important point to ponder...WHY WHY WHY are the Browns keeping the Lehi home along with its mortgage payments - if not to have a Safe Home to retreat to once the show is done???

    5. Amused I just remembered this past season where at one point Meri or Kody (I think?) asked the builders if Meri's home could be built with a wet bar but not the extra bedroom...and the builders quickly said NO because they would have to pay more $$ in permits etc.

This tells me something - that the builders were already overextended on these homes before a foundation had even been poured. Which might be one reason they wanted so much for the homes, much more than they were worth.

I do believe that they have worked quite a bit with Mona the RE lady in the past, so she was part of the set up too. The Browns were the willing suckers...they know - at least Kody does - that they can't keep these homes but for appearances sake they made a deal with the devil...all so Kody can say they "own" their "dream homes" (yuk!)

    6. I really have no idea how they got the homes but I doubt the builders are involved. I do foreclosures for a living. They have recorded mortgages. That will be the first lien priority. Even if they owed some money to the builders they cannot foreclose out the interest of a first lien so if the builders tried to foreclose they would still have to satisfy that debt to the mortgage company to get back full interest in the property. Have there been any type of loan documents recorded for the builders? If not, any other lien that may be files in the meantime would also take priority over any monies they might be owed.

    Great point...!!!
But not to worry, obviously, they don't have their RE licenses...if they did, they would be waving those all over FB and Twitter.

So if they are *or really ever even started?* working for Mona...the real estate agent to the LV stars...doubtful they are doing nothing other than answering phones and stapling brochures.
