Thou Shalt Not Stalk or Even Nice Mormon Girls Can Take a Walk on the Wild Side

"For better or worse, we are a culture obsessed with celebrity and celebrity lifestyle. We want to know where they shop, what they buy, at which watering holes they drink and with whom they're doing the dirty. We also want to know where and how they live."

A couple of days ago, while surfing the internet for pictures, I came across this most amusing blog.

Now, I know there are thousands of people who are...a little too enthusiastic about Kody Brown and his Ko-dypendents.

Just imagine my surprise when I came across this blog which documented how a nice, Mormon girl  stalked the Browns. Mind you, she described herself as a stalker. Anyway, her name is ***** (I changed her name to protect the self proclaimed stalker), and she's even featured on the LDS.org website. You know, one of those "Hi, my name is ***** and I'm a Mormon" testimonies.  I wonder what they would say about her sojourn in Vegas? Maybe she should add the line "I stalk fundamentalist Mormons who have a reality show on TV, but I'm neither for nor against polygamy". Well, it's a thought, isn't it?

This is ***** posing with a friend in front of the cuddlesac gate.

Now, we all know that going past that gate uninvited could be construed as trespassing, but ***** seems like a nice girl.

She'll just stick her arm through the gate and snap her pictures, right?

OH NO ! ***** don't do it! Don't squeeze through the gap between the gates (most likely caused by other stalkers... I mean...other nice Mormon girls out for some spring break fun)!

But she does. Her curiosity is too strong, she can't resist the urge. Maybe it was the call of the MLM green koolaid? Or the overpriced silver jewelry? Perhaps she thought she could be a stowaway to Disneyland in the back of one of the vans.

If only she had blond hair she could masquerade as a Brown daughter...

But back to the pictures. I hope that's a production person taking pictures and not another stalkerazi.

That would be kind of ironic - Kody spends almost 2 million dollars to keep people out, and they can STILL get in through the gate.  Four McMansions, four separate kitchens and four...FOUR wives behind a wonky gate that can't keep out the riff-raff. Take THAT Papa Joe!

Anyway, Robyn's house is on the far left, and that's the edge of Meri's house on the far right.

Unfortunately, that DEAD TREE is blocking the yard between their houses, but it looks like they are sharing the space behind the fence.

Seeing the cuddlesac knowing that behind those stately walls are Kody, Meri, Robyn, Janelle and Christine.... it's kind of a thrill, ya know? Hmmm....maybe for *****.

But those are some big-ass houses for people without real jobs.

It's kind of hard to see, but in Robyn's driveway is her van and Kody's MLMobile and in front of Janelle's McManse is Logan's white chick magnet car - formerly Kody's Lexus.

I  wish there were pictures of the front of Christine's McMansion, with the stone front.

And we have yet to see the front of Janelle's cement pad-less McManse.

Here's a closer view of Meri's McMansion. Her maroon SUV is parked in the driveway.

You can barely see Janelle's van to the right.

They definitely have desert landscaping, but is that a tumbleweed and another dead tree in the foreground? That would be Christine's front yard.

Finally, in true stalker style, ***** shows  PROOF of who she just stalked. As if someone would actually doubt she was there or who lived there.

Has she never watched Sister Wives? How many times did the Browns travel to that very same cuddlesac on the show  last season?

For some reason, the fact that she documented going through the call list taking pictures of each Brown name is kind of a creepy stalkerazi, if you know what I mean.

But I suppose it's comforting to know the Browns have the same call box that I have...(LOL!!)

So *****, here's a big thank you for the pictures I found via the {internet}.

By the way, she mentioned on her blog that  it was a picture she found on the {internet} that gave her the clues to find the cuddlesac. And she posted that picture front and center on her blog. Mind you, she never mentioned SWB, or that the picture CAME from SWB (courtesy of a Vegas SWB fan and taken far from the cuddlesac on the rodeway).  How's THAT for saying thanks?

Hey *****! It was our pleasure! *

*5/18/13 Seems ***** saw this posting and has posted her response. You can check out her sanctimonious reply  HERE

Oh, one more thing,  *****.  Since some nice girls can have a sense of humor (sort of) you may want to take a look at the date this posting originally was made. Yes, *****, it was April 1, otherwise known as April Fool's Day. I really don't think you were misrepresented by my little "joke", but we truly enjoyed your stalkerazi-like photos. The thumbs up were...inspired!

And before I forget, attention everybody! The photos were courtesy of ***** (aka Mindy) from Best.Day.Ever. It sucks when people don't properly give credit, doesn't it?

Can we still be friends?.....Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

    1. In keeping with the theme of this issue of the blog. Please be advised that we are NOT stalkers. Just "interested bystanders" . . . and not all of our get-togethers will involve Sisterwives.

Thanks for posting the contact info, CJ.

  2. I'm so mad! I was in Vegas last week and I was leaving the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino and who did I run into? KODY! Yes, the KODY and 2 of his daughters. I told them that they are my favorite show and asked to get a picture with them. They told me 'they were too busy' Are you kidding me? I fund those mcmansions by watching this real life comedy and they were too busy for a fan! Oh well. Better luck next time. My husband knew is was KODY before he even opened the door because he was flipping his hair around so much..

    1. Let's just file this as another Kody Brown missed opportunity - dissing a fan and failing to monopolize on their fame. Double whammy.

Just like when Kody Meri and Robyn were too busy a couple of months ago to say hello to a fan before stuffing their faces. And then had the nerve to apologize on twitter.

    2. Oh Please! Kody is a star and should not have to interrupt every waking moment to cater to the sniveling needs of every hanger on and riff raff that nips at his ankles. There are plenty of opportunities to meet and talk to Kody and have pictures taken at LIV events. Why should he ruin a perfectly good day taking his young daughters to a casino for a day of modesty and fundamentalist culture?

  3. Wow those houses are huge! I must say it is not quite the curb appeal I'd like or the look I'd go for, but to each her own.

Hate to rehash the money distribution subject but my thoughts on that are if the family is struggling and everyone is trying to conserve and be as efficient as possible, then Meri should get a small house to help the family or either go live with a sister wife. If they had a good relationship and everyone was selfless, this shouldn't be a problem. When they first moved to Vegas, Meri and Mariah should've bunked with somebody or gotten a small house/apt since it was temporary anyway.

Now that they've moved and no one is working to save and be as efficient as possible (clearly), Meri has every right to a big house. I can see why she would do that. Why should they get half million dollar homes and not her? Again, I only feel this way because no one is thinking of the future and supporting all those kids anyway. Also I'm glad Christine used up all her money. No way should she give her budget to another wife since not a one of them is practicing good financial stewardship, as I see it.

  4. Wow those houses are big. My cousin lives in Vegas and I'm planning on going sometime next year. A package deal from CT is very cheap, about 550 including hotel for 7 nights including airfare. Unbelievable, they practically give you the hotel for free. We're going to drive to the Grand Canyon and check out all the hotels on the strip, no gambling though. Also, a trip to Pawn Stars shop and hopefully to the gates of the Brown's haven.

THIS was my first reaction upon seeing the homes. Those ARE some BIG ASS houses! I am thinking 3 years before the first one is on the market. Foreclosed.

  5. Does anyone think that once their fans realizes just how big those mcmansions are, that they will begin to see the Browns in a different light and start to resent their "we are so poor" storyline?

    ReplyDelete

    1. I don't even know how they're going to manage to keep up the poverty storyline. My guess is the camera crew and editors will be very careful with the shots taken inside the homes- like severely angled kitchen shots, shots of everyone in one living room, maybe a kids bedroom here and there. I doubt they'll be giving the grand tour.

Perhaps they'll play up the "oh no, we bit off more than we can chew- our finances could come crashing down at any minute, oh woe is us" angle.

    2. my bet is that the whole season will be spent, well we got the houses, but we can't relax yet...and more tears, and more finite resources and more crappy products they're going to attempt to sell. I also would bet that there will be a "new" line added to the MSWC store around the time the new season starts. I guess they are going to expect us to believe that their income comes from all of those places. At least Jon and Kate had the decency to ride out their stay in that one house for a long time, built an addition etc. Before moving to their big house (after being on tv for quite some time i might add)

The Brown fools will be slowly consolidating finite resources moving into empty spaces within the next few years, as the older kids move out they won't need as many bedrooms. Someone will have to figure out the kitchen sharing issue. As disgusting as it is, I think Meri will be in hers the longest since she doesn't have all those mouths to feed.

      Delete
    3. . . But because she is a good sister wife (and leader of the pack) everyone will be more than welcome in her home- kids pets and all! And they lived happily ever after!

      Delete
    4. Kody probably only prioritizes paying the mortgage and bills of Meri's home... Because it is also HIS home. He can't care less about the rest. I wonder who will go into foreclosure first. They might end up ALL living in Meri's house. That would be fun to see. Can't wait till King Sol decorates the wetbar with a perm marker.

  6. It's just disturbing to me to see this...3 years ago their show debuted on TV...boom, boom, boom! And there ya go! This just makes no sense ...at least with Jon & Kate they moved once in between their humble abode and their HUGE house....which does make me wonder HOW on earth Kate survives financially with that big ol' house with all that land around it. I realize that the Browns rented homes, but that it money down the drain as far as I'm concerned...some amazing deal must have been conjured for this to happen.

I honestly don't want to watch them tooting around those big homes....complaining about their life and living the "polygamist lifestyle" with everyone so against them. Boo fricken Hoo!

  7. Why do I totally see myself posing for a picture like that when I go to Vegas on the Brown Nosing Around Town Tour? I'll have to get TWS (the internet queen) to post my pic for me as I am tech stewpid, but you can bet I'll be cheezin' like Chester! And, no, I have no shame about it. :D

  8. I really don't care anymore about their over-priced, Barbie Dream houses.
However they got them, with whatever scams, lies, posturing that it all took....then so be it.
    It's a done deal now !
They are 2013 version of the Beverly Hillbillies playing dress-up and make believe.

And if their cuddle-sac fantasy all goes up in smoke soon down the road, then it couldn't happen to more deserving grifters.
And if it doesn't, and they get to ride the current wave of being a tacky, phony reality show for a while more...then they are exactly where they fit in.

What matters to me is how much fun it is to watch and monitor just how bogus they are. Watching Jed Clampett aka Kody and his harem in the center ring of the circus, while in the comfort and with the wit and humor of *SWB's living room* is one of life's little pleasures.

This Blog has also been a classroom for serious, important Plyg issues, beyond SW.
Plus, we can talk about other things....the Browns aren't the only game in town.

Well played, Kody. You seem to have pulled it off. Well played, indeed. So this means someone has a job? Or should we be ready for the Browns on every D-list reality TV show, which would be awesome by the way...

I love the Browns like a UTI, but this is super creepy. I guess Kody Krew asked for it by making the houses the (only) storyline on national TV, but yikes. I would never feel safe if I lived there (or nearby). I can't even imagine how their neighbors must feel. Then again, I would never sleep with some guy the night after he was with somebody else or put my kids on reality TV, so what do I know.

  13. Maybe this nice Mormon girl was looking for a way into the compound to turn in her application as wife #5! Though it is nice to see actual shots of the houses... she definitely went beyond the realms of a normal fan. I will always be perplexed at how on earth they qualified for these homes, but as PBF put it, well played Brown family, well played.

  15. Is anyone else amazed they spent this much money on identical homes, and they are soooo boring? I honestly can say, there are some pretty amazing homes and condos in Las Vegas. IF, they were not so arrogant to think they needed a NEW home; a purchase for four great condos or homes together next to a golf course, with all sorts of amenities: pool, playground, GATED all could be had at low rock dollar prices are pretty easy to come by.
The price they paid for these, with HOA for what? a unkempt gate? No yard for the kids? That was mere narcissism at it's finest, and to tell you the truth, real turned me off to the Browns. I was fascinated too to see them in the beginning, but now, nope. They are a cut of the me pre fab home. Seriously PRE CUT PRE FAB.

    1. The condo thing would have been so brilliant because all the kids could hang out together in the community areas with perfect ease and without any weirdness. That's what the community areas in condos are for!

    2. I agree Traci but that would be too wise for the Browns to even consider!

      Delete
    3. I have said that all along. Strangely enough...we were considering a job there at the time they were moving. I was well acquainted with Centennial High School and had shopped around. They could have EASILY found even 4 homes together if they wanted, cheap. I think the condo idea was the best, so they could have the accommodations. Building new homes was vanity. I researched the market for a month, knew it like the back of my hand. Now, I do like the area they picked. However, I am telling you, when they moved, they could have easily picked up 4 even relatively new homes for much cheaper. I believe I even found 3 homes that were "polig" homes, that have several bdrms. ALL THAT TALK of living together, when they had no plans of it all along.

      Delete
    4. I really believe that initially they all really wanted to and planned to live together. I think the addition of Robyn was just too much for them to handle. Janelle might've been ok since she knows she's not the favorite anyway. It would've been too much for both Meri and Christine to handle Kody loving on Robyn in their face. The addition of the 4th is the reason they are in separate houses. And it's not her fault, it's Kody's and Meri's for upsetting the family dynamic. Now they are trying to make it work. It can definitely work in the end, but don't try to say that's the way it was always supposed to be. Don't try to put that on God. That was YOUR doing. Thankfully, he has mercy on us and our stupid decisions.

  17. Interesting. Mormon gal is NOT supposed to believe in polygamy. Seems going through the gate was trespassing, and if any of the tenants there wanted to sue her, they could. Possibly not if the gate was open, but still seems a tad.... stalkerish. i have no problems with pictures from the road, that's fair territory. What cracks me up is they were not smart enough to even get off the main drag roads, or in a gated community where they were nestled far away from the road. Something tells me they LIKE the attention.

I think you are quite right about that!!!

I do feel for the other homeowners who may have have wanted (and paid for) a gated, secure environemnt ony to wind up in Kodyworld where overly intrusive/ stalker fans can get access.

And considering that Kodyworld has 17 kids, 11 of whom are very young or middle school age, it realy is crazy for them to commit 2 million dollars to have their own compound yet have no real space for those kids to play sports as a group or anything else.

Now I want my big living/Kit, but as for bdrms, I could care less the size. At one point I had a 6 yr old and a 18 yr old in the same room, and they were just fine. Las Vegas is not the place to do it, but would it not make more sense to have a home with a basement and have several bdrms there?

  19. Kodys car was in Robyns driveway when I was at the homes. I wonder if that is his permanent parking spot so that outsiders can't tell which wives night it is. For those of you who think that the landscaping is horrible - this is considered very nice in Las Vegas. Many homes just have rock and no plants (plants = drip system) and most homes don't have nearly this much yard space.

    1. I have a really funny visual in my head of him moving his car from house to house, to say good night, because yanno they do have their own neighborhood.

I am seriously blown away with how large these houses are.

      Delete
    2. Yes they are huge. My home here in Las Vegas could fit in the space between Meri and Robyns houses. I think that might be why they were so much $$$. I still can't figure out why land here in the desert is so expensive because their money sure didn't go towards the cost of the actual homes. They are just so plain and boring looking.

      Delete
    3. I think the builder way overpaid for the land, or something like that.
The houses are definitely NOT worth half a million, they are constructed very cheaply.

      Delete
    4. As I recall the builder was deep in hock and did overpay for the land. And I agree with you on the houses being cheap and boxy looking and not looking anywhere near $450k. But I'm also guessing based on the fact that Kody wanted to even include the washer/dryer and window coverings in the mortgage and theoretically be paying for them for 30 years, long after they are replaced, that all Kody cared about really was having big places, regardless of the cost and not thinking one whit about the future - perhaps thinking "God will provide". as if God gives a rip about Kody having his ginormous houses.

      Delete
    5. Does anyone think this was the only builder that would work with him on not making a huge downpmt or something? I am still laughing they are paying HOA fees for what? A gate?

      Delete
    6. MS, they need to make sure there are sufficient 9 volt batteries for all those gate remote control units...plus I'm guessing there's liability insurance for the almost-inevitable defects that will more than likely come up resulting in the HOA (I'm wondering if the HOA just consists of the 9 homes in the cuddle sac) suing the builder which can drag on for years...

      Delete
    7. DakotaJustice - EXACTLY! I'd love to see Dave Ramsey "guest star" on an episode and tear into the Browns about their financial choices. Kody would probably do his blank, teary, beady-eyed stare into the distance until Dave finally shrugged, gave up, and walked away. Kody's voice over would go on and on about how necessary it was for the whole family to be together and how this was the ONLY WAY to make that happen (cue Janelle, cutting in just to paraphrase the exact same idea).

BTW, cracked up at your"as if God gives a rip..." comment. I mean, come on Browns.

  20. wow, those homes are HUGE! I can't wait to see how long it takes before we see them actually living in the houses on the show...theres going to be at least a few episodes of back and forth turmoil. I swear, if they make it the season finale, I may give up all together, TLC and fig8 are scrapping the bottom of the barrel for story lines.

Now, I'll def tune in to the "Where are they now" special in a couple years showing them loading up and moving...again...

  27. I'll bet they can't even keep up the payments to the home owners association. If they get behind, well... HOAs are known to be brutal when someone breaks a rule or gets behind in their payments. They won't be as forgiving as a bank with a late mortgage payment. Should be interesting!

  28. Okay, so....has anyone noticed the garages are drive-ups? Maybe it's just us, or people from this part of the country - but around here, drive-ups are considered cheap and kind of tacky. In fact, when we were looking for houses, my husband flat out refused to consider any house that had a drive up garage. Maybe it's not the same in LV...but for some reason, yet another aspect of the houses being tacky doesn't surprise me.

    1. I have never heard of them being tacky. They are quite welcome (and very common) where I am from so you can get your car out of the snow.

    2. Not sure what you mean but that's a typical garage design. There isn't a lot of space to have an unattached garage. Who wants to walk from a detached garage to the house in 110 degree heat anyway.

      Delete
    3. What is a "drive-up garage"????? It looks like any garage and driveway to me. *puzzled*

      Delete
    4. When you say "drive-ups" do you mean that the garage is in the front of the home instead of in the back? I think most homes are "drive-ups" then. I think the houses are pretty and the landscaping is nice for NV. It's too expensive and a waste to have grass to water. As hot as it gets, it would take lots of water in the summer months. The best part of their homes is that they have mountain views. I think they made alot more money from their show than we thought and paid cash for the houses. It's so tacky though to park outside when you have a garage. And, their cars will be hotter than blazes to get into parked outside in the summer months. It still annoys the heck out of me that they were able to get these houses.

      Delete
    5. I don't think desert landscaping means dead plants! It looks like that one yard not only has a dead tree the ground plants look dead too. And don't most HOAs require cars be parked inside the garage?

      Delete
    6. When I moved, I too was amazed. EVERY home has the garage at the back of the lot no where near the house. I understand that you are saying. In some areas of the Us - the garages are to be on the back part of the yard, where they should be (in their heads)
Me, I'll take mine as I step out of my kitchen or utility room.

      Delete
    7. I realize that in some parts of the country that the garage is detached from the house, but in California anyway, the norm for a house is attached garage. Even my triplex has an attached garage and wow, it's so nice to be able to walk right into the garage from my pad. :) I remember visiting my grandparents back east and it was NOT fun to get to the garage during a lightning storm.

    8. I live in AZ - similar climate to LV. We have our garage in the front, so for us it means not having to walk in the sun/heat as we go from the inside of the garage directly into the house. It may be a regional thing, but they are considered normal here, not tacky at all.

Also, HOAs MAY have rules about parking. We have traditionally parked one car in the garage and one out on the driveway. Our HOA has rules about the SIZE of the vehicle (no pick-up trucks over a certain tonnage, no vehicles with commercial signs, no RVs, etc.) that you can park. Our patrol officers will mark RVs to ensure they are parked less than 48 hours for loading and unloading only.

And if their yards get too nasty looking, you can get HOA notices about that, too. Our community newsletter has contained reminders lately about weeds. If residents don't keep their yards up to required standards, the HOA will have a landscaper take care of it, and will then bill you.

IF you don't pay your HOA dues or fines, the HOA will place a lien against your property, and you cannot sell the property until that lien is paid. I think that may become an issue for the Browns, since they don't seem to think they have to pay the same kinds of bills the rest of us do (like credit card charges, etc.). As they try to pack up in the middle of the night and move BACK to Lehi, they may REALLY have people chasing them this time.

    9. We live in Ohio, and in our town, which is large, unless it's a new home, almost everyhome is a bungalow style with a garage in the back lot. One reason being, that I could see, was that if the garage was attached to the home, there would be no drive to the back yard as they are all squished together.

      Delete
    10. No...sorry! I wasn't clear! By drive up, I do not mean attached. I mean, the garage in the front of the house. So, when looking at the house straight on, a large part of the front facade of the house is taken up by the garage. Where we live, the HOA dictates tha the garage be on the side of your house....but it's definitely still attached!! It's just not front and center. So, when you look at our homes from the front, you see the house...not a big huge garage door.

Sorry for not being more clear...that's what I get for assuming everyone would know what I meant by a "drive up" (as that's what we call the ones in the front of the house - not sure why, it's just the term used here).

      Delete
    11. I just read a book about traditional home design and why mcmansions "feel wrong" to many of us. Can't say I agree with everything in the book (I am not a designer of any sort either) but a whole section was on garages.

It is not traditional to have the garage extend beyond the house towards the street. sideways facing doors are more preferable to the author as are detached garages.

Honestly, these houses break most of the "rules" the author outlined and perhaps that is why they look like a big mound of house to me. Granted I live in New England so the whole environment is very different than what I usually see.

      Delete
  29. We have "drive-up garages" where we live and I would not want one. Our garage is attached to the house but the entrance is on the side, not the front. Much less public. Attached but no one can see what is in the garage...

  30. regarding the "security" of said gates - those are public roads, not private roads I think. if it was gating a private road or a driveway, I can see that they could be secure, but I don't think that the developer can make the gates ironclad or even put a No Trespassing sign as long as people stay on the public roads. I think????

  32. Well, then, if "drive-up" means "up front" or attached to the house, that is what we have. With lots of snow and cold, it is by far the best way to have one's garage...from the garage, into our mud room, then into the kitchen. Very convenient and we stay out of some of the ridiculous weather we live with in my part of the USA. ...and, we keep our cars IN the garage! What a concept! :-)

  34. On the East coast, there are as many attached garages as there are detached garages.
No rhyme or reason except perhaps at the whim of the builder or the homeowner/builder. That pertains to all price ranges.
Also a factor is how much land the house is situated on.

I have lived in both types and do prefer the attached garage for convenience.
Having lived in a detached one, dragging in groceries and/or sleeping kids in bad weather was a drag.
Also, in an attached garage (if the car is actually parked inside) the cars stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

As far as the garage being on the front or side of the house, that seems to be all about the size and shape of the lots. Rectangular, horizontal lots have it on the side, with squarish or deep, narrow lots, it may be on the front.

Kodyworld lots look more narrow and deep, rather than wide, side to side.

  35. TLC pays for their living costs (i.e. rent, gas, power)as long as they are filming. So the Browns don't even have to worry about paying for the houses yet. At least this is what their extended family has told me. TLC gives their reality show people a lot of perks that do not show up "wages"; bonuses, trips, any activity that is filmed. maybe the family is hoping that the show will last long enough for TLC to pay for most of their houses.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well thats not going to happen if they dont stop treating their fans like crap

      Delete
    2. TLC (actually F8F) isn't there 24/7 I bet. I can't imagine the show being worthy of ANY bonuses. and what trips have they taken that were filmed? We haven't seen any trips to Hawaii or Europe. Mexico is one of the cheapest places to travel to outside the US. Probably the priciest trip was either the Boston trip or the plyg-cation last year. The mortgages on those homes must be at around $4k per month, EACH. That's $16,000 a MONTH - just on paying down the debt. TLC is notorious for being an incredibly cheap network. And "extended family"...what does that mean and how would they know for sure, other than what Kody and Co. chooses to say?

MY own guess is that Kody wants to look like he's "livin' large" - it's a throwback to the real estate bubble days where all those folks were using the overinflated equity in their homes like ATMs, and maxing out their credit cards etc etc all in the name of looking like they had hit the big time. Apparently none of the Browns including "Financial genius" Janelle recall what happened just 5-6 years ago, but I've come to the conclusion that none of them give two shits about the future, they're just living for the NOW and figuring that they'll just WALK AWAY from the resulting debt just like they've ALWAYS done.

  36. Didn't somebody on an earlier post mention that all the houses are pretty much the same with the same amenities? Meaning that Janelle actually DOES have a patio in the backyard? I personally think that was an extremely lame attempt at a story line. We only see what the producers want us to see...How much you want to bet that this coming season (which I am guessing will be a grand total of 8 episodes and the very last one will be them moving into the homes with the BIG CLIFFHANGER as Meri's house is the last one to close while we all bite our nails to the quick...LOL) we'll see that ALL four homes include a cement patio?? 38. I wonder what kind of furniture they have in these huge glamorous houses? Since there are so many people and so many rooms to fill, I imagine mattresses on the floor and crates for storage. I always got the general impression that the family started growing so quickly that they didn't even have 'proper' furniture in the Lehi house...I can't imagine furnishing 4 McMansions. Poor Christine as a wife and mother of 6 was lucky to get a bedroom set last season. And let's not forget that Pre-Kody, poor Robyn's children didn't even sleep in cribs, they had to sleep in the open dresser drawers.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Or so we were told. I think Robyn has a tendency to exaggerate her previous circumstances, there's obviously no love lost between her and the former Mr. Robyn.

Easy enough to get cheap/free used furniture on Craigslist or wherever. it's not going to be designer quality, but I doubt that Robyn's kids were "sleeping in the open dresser drawers" for more than a couple nights.

      Delete
  39. I'm guessing with these houses all lined up in a row....one of the episodes will be Kody (father of the year) standing in front of Robin's house and walking in and out of each house saying goodnight to them. Making us believe since they all live in these houses that are next to each other...HE ACTUALLY does it every night...NOT.

Or they are all playing in the cuddle-sac and the mom's are standing outside when Kody comes home from work...uhhhh...never mind.

I have a feeling that since these houses have been built they can still go a week without seeing each other.

  40. CPA, I was thinking the same thing. I always see clutter and garbage in the background of the twitter pics (even cups on fireplace mantels). Except for Marys house of course. Something tells me they only care how they appear on the outside (much the same as their relationships with one another). I hope this whole thing blows up in Kody Browns ugly, Brad-Pitt wannabe face.

    1. I'm wondering if any of the Disneyland trips will be shown on tv, then I'd be willing to bet that TLC paid for annual passes or something...who knows, however since it doesn't appear that they have taken any trips there as an entire family unit, I doubt it. The utilities on these homes are going to be HORRENDOUS this summer, since they were probably slapped together quickly I'm sure they aren't all that energy efficient. With all those kids running in and out the cooling will be running non stop. I know last summer out here in SOCAL it was miserable hot, I don't even want to think about what it was like in the desert. However, I do think that while they are filming the utilities are paid for by TLC because their "energy" is being used for all of the lighting, equipment, etc. That was discussed on an episode of Jon & Kate when they answered viewer questions.

Maybe once the HOA goes after them, they will make some TMZ-type headlines, and we will get more smut on them to discuss here

      Delete
    2. I have a feeling the audience will not see much footage within the homes and definitely no footage at Disneyland. Didn't Joe Darger already say they were denied admission when they tried to bring the cameras with them? And if the production company does have to pay their utilities I think they are smart enough to film during the cool time of the year!

      Delete
    3. No way are we gonna see the Disney trips, and no way did TLC pay for them. We've discussed this previously.

Now as far as inside the homes, I do think we are going to see interior footage, since we did see interior footage of both the Lehi house and their rental homes. If they want to eke out another season or two, they *must*.

Personally I think Kody and Ko are living on credit card debt while making minimum payments...no different than in the past. Who's next for a bankruptcy? It's 7 years they have to wait until filing again, right?

      Delete
    4. I think they will keep their home footage the same as always, the kitchen area, or the smallest area of the house, then cram everyone in so it appears they don't have a lot of space and have it "rough". Most filming will be done at Christine or Jenelle's houses where the most kids live. Meri's house is always shown quiet and dimly lit (depressing) and Robyn's house they are always standing in a door way walking out. I noticed this last week when I was watching the old episodes on netflix.

Now that you mention it anon 10:33, I am pretty sure Disney won't let them film there, they aren't affiliated in any way, and if anyone from Disney has seen the show, they would be like NO.WAY.

It does appear that they do a lot of filming in the winter months, we have seen at least one holiday season. Although, that pilgrimage trip was made during the summer.

Either way, I hope we get some gratutious shots of the wet bar, covered in pastries and kids getting chocolate all over the place.

      Delete
    5. Also, keep in mind it's not TLC paying the bills per se - it's Figure 8 Films, the producers. And I think someone mentioned that F8F uses their own battery packs etc to film, rather than plugging into the home electrical. Their equipment probably requires more power than what the homes have. and again...they aren't there 24/7. maybe a few weeks a year at MOST. the rest of the time, the family is on the hook for the utilities, mortgage, property taxes etc etc.

hm just found this blog post in a google search. interesting.

    6. I know that they do put up lighting though, discussed on both the duggars show and jon and kate, mostly complaints from the families how the lighting fixtures are BRIGHT.

could be a show by show thing though

I read the link, def interesting and proves that most people have the same though. WTF are these people thinking

    7. I think theatrical lighting requires more voltage than your average home can safely generate though.

      Delete
    8. Which is one reason that production crews travel around in big mobile studios with loud generators.

And if you live in that community, you've gotta love those big trucks with their engines running during filming. Or maybe not.

I think this train is headed for derailment - one more season before the poo hits the fan.

Someone commented that the Browns usually film during the Winter. I think you're right. I've noticed that their season premiers are twice a year. November and May/June. And no matter when they air, the footage is always around the time the kids are in school. Which lets us know they don't film during the Summer. Unless perhaps its at the tail end of Summer vacation.
And the May/June episodes are ALWAYS around the Holidays. The first Holiday being the cabin trip. The second was in the rental home when Robyn announced to the world she was creating jewelry when giving the women charms. And the third, Christine got a whim to celebrate Hanukkah. At the end of last season Christine kept praying that they would be in the new homes by Christmas. So that is probably what we'll be seeing a lot of in the coming season. But not before some boring pumpkin patch/Halloween episode. Que Earth, Wind, Fire, Water and Sun/Sammy Hagar?
I just wonder if when we see the new homes (hopefully inside & out as I'm curious about what the wet bar looks like and Christine's stone exterior) if we'll see any interviews from the neighbors and their opinions of the Browns like the block party episode.

      Delete
    10. For some reason I'm thinking the Browns are better accepted by their cul-de-sac neighbors than the rental neighborhood ones. As far as what we will see in the next season. I believe someone already provided pictures of them filming Meri's move so definitely we'll see her moving, but the others I'm not too sure about.

      Delete
    11. Oh I'm sure they filmed ALL the moves, it probably takes hours upon hours of video to get 5 minutes of "worthwhile" (and I use the term loosely) footage. Will we see another scene of Kody demanding his slaves come and assist??

      Delete
    12. will we be able to stomach watching meri move? that grin on her face like i won! its obvious these houses will be far more expensive to maintain than they realize. I wonder if the kids have health insurance. with 17 kids thats a huge premium per month for them. since they appear to be selfemployed i would assume they insure them privately. i hope an interview in the future asks them this question. can u imagine if they are not insured by 2014 what their penalties will be? these houses will bleed them to death.by the way, it is not unusual for new landscaping to die after being planted. it requires care in the desert to maintain any of it.

      Delete
    13. I was a volunteer on the show, "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" (don't even get me started on THAT train wreck!) and the homes that they built for the families would take thousands and thousands of dollars to maintain. The house we did had around $85,000 worth of landscaping alone...so many plants, flowers and trees to take care of. This particular family had a disabled father. There is no way they could have kept up that level of expense.

I really wonder how many families that were featured eventually did foreclose or go bankrupt. I think that these reality shows set up people to fail miserably. The Browns may be the biggest failures yet.

      Delete
    14. oh, i am for sure we will be seeing some pretty grueling moving footage, remember those low budget vans, we are going to be told they had to "cut back" because of "finite resources" because the homes cost so much, and move themselves.

I am sure we can count on, big tears from everyone about how hard moving is, and then the kids running around screaming and playing and destroying those new homes, except meri's where she will be lonely and wiping down a counter, staring off at a sad, quiet home. (such a dramatic scene in season2)

I can't wait to see kody spread his wings-err-bad hair and run around the cuddlesac like a weirdo claiming what is his, while they also play a flashback of him running around the empty lots.

fig8 should just hire some of us ;) they will get some better story lines going!!

They are such a hard working family(they work 10 hours a day 7 days a week at their business storefront) with 3 kids in smushed in 1 bedroom and hopefully in the next few months they will be able to buy. I'm guessing your friends want a real loan, not a 40% down, interest only for five years then refinance type loan. Those have been harder to get everywhere, even for people with great credit.

The type of loan that I believe the Brown's qualified for should be illegal. It is practically loan-sharking. The Brown's should have known better than to enter into such financing, but I just hate that the loan company benefits any way from this type of loan activity.

The six words you left out changed the meaning of the entire sentence, but you knew that, right?

The rest is history. (I don't think Mindy understands the moderation process - we actually read each comment before approving it for publishing so her claim of SWB stalking her is absurd. We didn't look further until she made her defiant 2nd comment)Her blog doesn't seem to have high traffic so hopefully it won't matter.

    Let's see.
She asked over and over for the Browns legal address.
SWB would not give it to her, stating privacy issues.
SWB only posts pics that have been discussed or shown on the show. (Ex. the new houses)
HOWEVER, they do not post the legal address to be consciousness who understand that safefty is an issue.
Mindy obviously doesn't care if her printing the legal address causes some real stalker to come their way.
Mindy has a personality disorder where she must call herself nice.
Obviously being LDS, Mindy doesn't believe, said so herself that the Browns are Mormons. SWB calls them what they call themselves, Fundamentalist Mormon, and I have even seen on this blog the defense of this term used.
Seems as though this blog, although does poke fun at the Browns and their show.... have more morals when it comes to respect and privacy than Mindy did.
AND, you posted her reply with the hateful link listed. That shows that you rock and don't care what she has to say!
    SWB RULES!
