Brown Family Mission Statement

Brown Family Mission Statement

They've taken the advice of Big Pappa Joe, but will they follow through?
Of course this is all in fun, but what would your Mission Statement be for the Browns.

Mine would be more of a list for Kody Brown.
In my head it look like a blackboard, where he has to write out sentences.

1. I will keep my hands and feet to myself.
2. I will respect others.
3. I will take turns and share with my family.
4. I will put the needs of my family over my wants.
5. I will get a real job, spend less and save more.
6. I will remember to be a HUMBLE servant of my religious beliefs, and promise to never yell out "we're polygamists!" again like it's a High School sports team.
7. My hair will take a backseat to my children's' needs and airtime.
8. I will quit alternating between blaming others for my families disorganization and squawking that you want to bark orders and be obeyed. Be the head of the family, and mature about it.
9. I will behave as well as my children do. And remember to be thankful for the children I have-and spend more time with them.
10.  Quite simply, I will grow up or change TV shows and put on a Peter Pan outfit.

If Kody would change his behavior, the entire dynamics of the family would greatly benefit. After all, he is the HEAD of the family, planet, universe.....at least in his eyes.

For Meri I have basically on point to make.  If your family is your mission, remember this, Meri. Repeat after me:
I will remember I wanted to follow the polygamist religion of my family, and could have had Kody one way or the other. I chose this path. I wanted this path and talked Kody into it. Kody would have married me and also stayed in the LDS. I CHOSE this, I will treat the other women like I should. I will also quit spending money on ridiculous things and save for the children of this family. Walk the Walk.

I will now start behaving like an adult and follow the simple rules of kindergarten.

Meri, you seem to be in the orange or red all the time! Turn that frown upside down!

What would your Brown Family Mission Statement Be?

Discussion Page 4 for Sister Wives: Hard to Say Goodbye and Secrets Revealed (S05, E08 and E09)

I now get it! Sorry if I am a bit slow folks. I thought that going to a cabin was a Brown Christmas family tradition, with snow and all the trimmings, but wrong was I! It's these houses that were to make or break Brown Christmas 2012. They got them, so WHEW! We at SWB send condolences to the Kleenex Company, who probably lost good money or at least a case of tissues over this latest home-gate being solved.
Looking at this, what is there to cry about? Would January been the end of the world? Only if you believe Warren Jeffs.

Why must Kody's hair be a large part of the of so many episodes? Is he looking for a Hair transplant sponsor, or just that vain?

Oops, thought this was Kody for a minute

Not to get on a rant, but the money issue is bugging the heck out of me.

I have thought and thought... (ask Cynical, that's hard for me to do on my own.)  For the LIFE of me, I can not fathom, understand, comprehend the logic behind all income being split 4 ways equally. First, I don't even believe that. I say it's 5 with Kodster getting a fifth for upkeep on hair products, clothes and play time.

My father set up a trust for each grandchild to have a college education. He died young, wanted them protected. Mind you, he only had 1 grandchild at the time, small, but knew more were to come. NOW, the way it was set up, each child would get an equal amount, as my sibling and I would all have our children by the time one was in college. (Provisions were made if otherwise.) NOW, if he had set it up where my children got 1/2 and my sibling's children got 1/2, someone would have gotten the shaft, since my brother had 3 more children than I did. Lucky I am we all love each other and want ALL to get an education. The important thing was to share and each get a fair slice. We, the adults, were more than happy with this arrangement.

This made sense to me, and is working well. The Browns arrangement does not to me. Nor does it bode well with me to the "advantages" of polygamous "lifestyle" i.e. religion that sharing and caring mean wives get an equal cut, no matter how many children they are raising, and equal size homes is ridiculous. I see no lost lost between these sister wives. I'll just keep my good ole girlfriends and one husband, thank you. To each their own, I guess.

Why not an equation like this: A simplistic one, but you'll get my point.

1. Adults get a percentage of the pie. 5 equal slices, with Kody to help out as needed WHEREVER needed with his extra cut. Kody also tithes to the AUB out of his portion for the whole group, and pays taxes.

2. Children also get a slice, albiet a smaller one, but a fair percentage of what it costs to care for a child yearly. Divide this portion of child care costs up and give each mother whatever her # of children are. I will include even Robyn's kids in this, minus any already paid provisions from child support or the state from special needs.

3. Meri would get her cut plus 1 child, Janelle her cut plus 6, and so on. Get the idea?

DOES THAT NOT MAKE MORE SENSE? Maybe I am crazy. Maybe I am wrong. But I don't think so. I am so sick of hearing how it's all about the kids. If it is, then make some sense with your money! Or better yet, let's see Meri get make ALL the money and say divide it up equally. That would be interesting.....

I asked Cynical Jinx to break it down. Here are her excellent views.

On the highest rated Real Housewives franchise, undisputed star NeNe Leakes reportedly made $750,000 for one season. In comparison, fired RHoNY star Alex McCord was quoted as making approximately $300,000 on her last season. These are figures for highly rated cable shows on  highly rated cable network Bravo.

Sister Wives simply does not pull in the viewers or advertising dollars that the RH franchise does. So to be generous, I would estimate the Browns earnings for one season to be approximately $250,000 - $300,000 - the same as one of the lowest paid participant of the RH franchise.

The last season (including the tell all episode) was 9 episodes so that would be approx $33,000 per episode. Or about $25,000 a month. I haven't figured in taxes because I'm sure they take the max allowed with all those dependents.

Now figure in the monthly costs of 4 households in Las Vegas.
Leasing of 4 houses @ $1500 ea per month =   $6000.00
Utilities for 4 houses @ average $650 /mo   =   $2600.00

Food for 4 houses  per mo                          =       $4000.00
Total so far:                                                          $12600.00/ mo
This doesn't include insurance, gas, clothing, school supplies, car payments gifts. Now that they are in homes  I've seen estimates of $2500 for their monthly mortgage payment. I think it's much higher, maybe $4000 - $5000 each month. Double the utility costs (lots of open space to be cooled/heated), HOA fees, well you can see the costs will increase.

Now, some of you may be asking yourself "But what about Season 4? "

Yes, Season 4 episodes did run from May 13th to June 14th, 2012, but remember, some of the footage was filmed in 2011. So I think there are two words that will answer the question of Season 4: DOWN PAYMENT.

Do you think that an equal 4 way split is fair? Can they afford these homes? Thoughts?

Sister Wives: Hard to Say Goodbye and Secrets Revealed (S05, E08 and E09)

"Hard to say Goodbye"
As the Browns prepare a proper send-off for Logan's graduation, Kody and the wives push hard to get moved into their new homes before Christmas. Will all the pressures of moving and decorating for the holidays get the better of them?

Well, let's see. If his graduation was any indicator, this episode will be filled with chaos and less about Logan and more about his hapless parents. Joe Darger, care to organize? I'd like to see a well ran send off for once. I would love to be a bug on the wall when he and his wives are discussing this show. If Robyn cries, I may scream.

I find it a tad hard to swallow that Kody is so broken up over Logan leaving at this point. Janelle, certainly. That's her first baby, of whom she is so proud. He IS staying in the same town!. Kody is at the house, what, once a week, and now, he can have 100 excuses to go see the women, I mean Logan, at college. Somehow, I don't see Kody turning his head as the Duggars do. "nick nick" Can you imagine him walking around flipping his hair? More than one college student will get a chuckle out of that sight!

I digress, but back to the beginning, when we meet Logan and he's cooking breakfast. Still amazed that Meri could not cooperate and cook breakfast for Janelle's crew, when Janelle was paying her bills, and Logan got up and cooked breakfast every morning. What a good boy. That was just another fine example of how "they all work together" if it's cutting the checks, but not if Janelle's kids need fed or Christine needs a study break. Meri, what exactly DO you DO?

I say, RUN LOGAN RUN, and HAVE FUN!!!!

"Secrets Revealed"
The Brown family sits down with NBC's Tamron Hall to look back at the latest dramatic season of Sister Wives and dig deeper into the ups and downs of life as a polygamist family separated into four different homes.

Now wait a minute- an hour of HOW the 4 homes have affected their lives, when they are now in 4 homes? Only Brown logic could be used on this one. Was Natalie too tough? Crud. I LIKED her!

Would it not be interesting if they showed each house they have lived in, and for how long? Kind of a back track up to now story? What about Robyn saying she lived with mom and then a small apt., but when we met her, she was in a nice house? I doubt they could do this, the stories would get all screwed up in their fantasy story telling.

Since the wives, minus Meri, own their home in their own name, it will be interesting if later on (and you know it will happen) when the bubble bursts, or the jewelry runs out of stock, if Janelle will relent and either sell her house for the greater good or keep it. She's plucked down her money once. I don't see a twice in her book. We are all looking for Kody and Meri's house to show up- of course it will, but probably a BORING story season ender. And it will cost more. it's Grody's, for crying out loud!

BTW. I came up with a little idea for four homes where the yard could be hidden. Somehow building 4 homes all backed up to other homes or a road is not very - private. Pardon my third grade drawing. Makes sense to me!  Why don't they just own the fact they have lived apart more than they have lived together. Do you think they REALLY want privacy? I say Kody wants to be seen, wind in hair, or should I say tufts. If privacy is what they wanted, and a purer place to raise kids, also free land, Montana would be looking pretty good....

Sister Wives Blog Family Confessions or Tell All, What Would You Ask?

Sooo... we all remember the snoozefest called "BROWN FAMILY CONFESSIONS" where we heard no confessions. What if they actually HAD to answer questions? Then the wild TELL ALL?
On this post you are the reporter. You have to ask the Browns a question, and it has to be in a way that would appear on TV. What would you ask them, and if they squirmed as in Kody answering for Meri, or not answering honestly, would you push? How?

Game of Groans

During the recent half season of Sister Wives have you been excited by the sister wives’ verbal sword play and emotional backstabbing?  Do you miss the intrigue, seduction, lavish costly adequate meagre sets and costumes of the Las Vegas casas del Browns?  Then you will love our very own

Game of Groans: the Sister Wives Edition
also known as: Browns Don’t Pay Their Debts / Cancellation is Coming

Do you know who made the following comments?

First prize is a no-expense paid vacation to Robyn’s house in Las Vegas to babysit her children while she and Kody have a second honeymoon.

1.       “Love should be multiplied, not divided.”
a.      Kody Brown
b.     Mrs. Brown, my 4th grade math teacher
c.      Reverend Brown, minister at the First Street Methodist church
d.      James Brown, Godfather of Soul: married 3 times, had 9
Answer:  Score two points if you answered anything but “a”.  Unfortunately, however, it was Doofus who made this comment.  Apply brain bleach and deduct 10 points if you answered a.

2.     “We don’t do weird.”
a.      Meri Brown
b.     The Brown M&M
c.      Chris Brown (Rihanna’s ex)
d.      Bobby Brown (the late Whitney Houston’s ex)
Answer:  The Brown M&M, of course.  After reading the Brown’s book, it is apparent that Meri is very weird; therefore, “a” cannot be true.  Five bonus points if you have the inside scoop on whether this comment is true.

3.     “Hold on there Johnny Appleseed.”
a.      Hunter Brown
b.     John Chapman (Johnny Appleseed’s real name)
c.      John McIntosh (discovered the McIntosh apple)
d.      Maria Smith (discovered the Granny Smith apple)
e.       John Cripps (developed the Pink Lady / Cripps Pink apple)
Answer:  Hunter Brown.  An extra 10 points if you know what the comment means.

4.     “I’ve been praying about it ever since we met.”
a.      Robyn Brown
b.     Zac Brown (country singer)
c.      The unsinkable Molly Brown
d.      Dan Brown (wrote “The Da Vinci Code”)
Answer:  Robyn said this when providing Meri with her offer of surrogacy.  However, we think it would be better as a country song lyric.  Are you reading this Zac?

5.     “Modest is hottest.”
a.      Christine Brown
b.     Christina Hendricks, actress on “Mad Men” (has considerable “assets”)
c.      Christina Aguilera, singer (albums include “Stripped” and “Just be Free”)
d.      Christian Bale, actor (famous for his leaked on-set X-rated rant)
Answer:  Gee, this is a difficult question.  The answer is, Christiane Amanpour, CNN correspondent.

6.     “How do you date as a married man?”
a.      Kody Brown
b.     Kody’s friend Andy
c.      Kelsey Grammer
d.      Every married Mormon fundamentalist man
Answer:  While Kody’s friend Andy (married to Nicole) said the words, the quote applies to “e”.  Do you remember Andy and Nicole?  They belonged to the AUB, but hadn’t yet taken a second wife.  We hope they still haven’t!

7.     Toasters kill more people than sharks.
a.      Christine Brown
b.     The brave little toaster
c.  Jaws
d.  Cylons and Transformers disguised as toasters
Answer:  This was actually a clever marketing ploy by Kenmore to boost microwave sales.

8.     “_____ is a raging testosterone monster.”
a.      Hunter Brown
b.     Detective Sergeant Rick Hunter (Hunter, the 1980s TV series)
c.      Kody Brown
d.      Solomon Brown
e.      Solomon Grundy
Answer:  Kody said this about his son Hunter.  We think that Kody is actually the testosterone monster.

9.     Who was worried that someone might “proslight” about Mormon fundamentalism (Mormon pronunciation of “proselytize”)?
a.      Kody’s friend Ken
b.     The Pope
c.      Elton John
d.      Reese Witherspoon’s mother (accused her husband of bigamy)
Answer:  All the above, with special emphasis on Ken, who apparently lacks a dictionary.

10.  Who has the scarlet P?
a.      Kody Brown
b.     Kody Coxxx, adult film performer
c.      Buffalo Bill Cody, you know who he is
d.      Diablo Cody, writer
Answer:  As usual, Doofus put his foot in his mouth when he attempted to sound literate and compare “The Scarlet Letter” to polygamy.  The result sounded more like something that required antibiotics.

11.   Who says they will be out of the house the day they turn 18?
a.      Madison Brown
b.     Helen Gurley Brown
c.      Sylvia Brown (the psychic)
d.      Jackson Browne, singer-songwriter
Answer:  Madison is apparently psychic (and feminist) as she says she will be will be supporting herself the day she turns 18, even if she is running on empty and that being a sister wife is definitely not for her.  You go girl!

Sister Wives Radio Interview - Big Red 92.3 FM

TLC's Sister Wives - Kody Brown & his 4 wives talked about their family, relationships and more with Rollin & The Morning Show - Big Red 92.3 FM

It's extremely refreshing to me that Janelle clarifies the LDS/Fundamental split 100 yrs ago. She asle says that the origins of the LDS church and the AUB were the same. You go girl! She's not afraid to be clear. As we have been discussing, The believe in the many of the same same principles, Mormon Book, Joseph Smith. They no longer share the polygamy principle.
Kody on the new wives question: "Not drawn the line in the sand"

*Be sure and read What's Happening Now with the Houses? and discussion area below!

Thoughts?
