While I am unsure of How connected the AUB (Kody) and the FLDS (Warren) are, they defiantly have many different beliefs, and Warren should NOT be a reflection of Kody Brown. However, with that being said, their fundamental beliefs are the same. The AUB strictly rules that their are to be NO underage marriages. Someone might clarify it for me, but from all I've read, they split apart 60 yrs ago.
In 2011, the Sister Wives Blog started out as a place to talk about the TLC reality show "Sister Wives", Kody Brown and his wives Christine, Robyn, Meri and Janelle. Today we not only discuss the show, we discuss Polygamy in our society, and the public perceptions of the Mormon Religion. We discuss "Polygamy USA" and will be covering "My 5 Wives." This blog is geared towards the adult reader, so please, no one under the age of 18 years. Thank you!

Oh, we all know this Sisterblog! It is good to get reminders, though so TY!
ReplyDeleteI think it is more amusing that the Brown's do not just realize the world can sort things for themselves and stop tweeting about it. They are the ones that make people wonder why Warren and Kody are constantly being used in the same tweets.
The more they protest that they are not anything alike, the more suspicious they are making people.
They ought to just be honest. Instead of playing games about church and religion and getting caught in white lies over it all, just say it like it is. People will get it. And if they don't, that is fine, too. At least the Brown's would know they were not dishonest in their attempts to draw a gap between AUB and FLDS Jeffs but now they have been caught doing just that so why should anyone believe Robyn. I wish the other wives would curtail her twitter vomit.

Robyn can officially tell everyone the show is coming back now lol!
tons of articles on american muslim ... tlc held a panel stating no religion or politics plus they talked safety concerns
ReplyDeleteTo me, they are alike. Does anyone know when the AUB got a little cleaner and not marry babies? They still believe all the Mormon Joseph Smith crap. They still believe in stealing from the welfare. What would you call them? Warren is a 4, Kody maybe a 6? heehee
ReplyDeleteI think they are full of it! But, to be fair, It SEEMS to be a tad different. But you know, after I wrote this, I thought, I have no facts to back this up!
ReplyDeleteRobyn just should of said, we used to be a part of that sect, we are no longer. Instead, she acts like they never were. LIE>
Weird tweet wonder why maddie is wondering about offending the person heroin of paris jumped all over - the one that praises janelle and her children but questioned Robyn.
ReplyDeleteApparently, Heroine thinks they are FLDS even though Robyn said they are not lol Heroine tweets we are trying to show the difference between flds and lds weeks after Robyn denies being FLDS.

There was a split in the main polygamist group when Joseph Musser their leader passed away (back in the 40s I think). The AUB followed Rulon Allred, and the rest down at what was then "Short Creek," now Colorado City followed John Y Barlow. It was all about who had the authority, but there were issues about child brides too. I remember being told by one AUB council member that there were little girls "playing in the dirt" down at Short Creek, who were married. AUB distanced itself from those practices, and today, as far as I know don't allow underage "marriages". However, I also know that Rulon C Allred, past leader of AUB (and adored by the people) "married' two 15 year old Jessop girls. AUB is a lot more careful today about its public image.
ReplyDeleteRulon Allred married 15 year old twins in the 1930's. It wasn't that unusual for 15 year olds to get married back then. My great aunt did.
ReplyDeleteAUB Fun Fact for Today : There was also an exodus from the AUB in the 1990′s when the AUB priesthood accidentally conferred the priesthood upon someone who converted from LDS to AUB who appeared to be white but had some African ancestry.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Also, Maddie's tweet. Guess she missed it.
