Review: Sister Wives S06Ep01: Picking Up the Pieces

Kody channeling the Geico Caveman...notice the balding!
I'm just going to say it. I've been spoiled by Polygamy, USA. I really miss that show.

For one thing, most of what we see in this episode was filmed ALMOST A YEAR AGO. I mean, c'mon, even Honey Boo Boo and Polygamy,USA had faster production turn around times.

And it doesn't help matters that the Browns have documented their lives in between seasons on their Twitter accounts.

Seriously, this episode was mostly a waste of time.

So I'm gonna start using a system to rate the story lines for this season of Sister Wives. If it is interesting or fun, I will give it a Hyrum.

If it is full of crap, I will give it an Uncle Art Raspie. I wanted to give it an Uncle Art Boot but he moved too fast and I couldn't capture the picture. Anyway, I kinda like his sexy blue lips.

Let's begin this journey, shall we?

First of all, this is to the producers, film editors, story writers...whoever was responsible for the first five minutes of the show. It was not necessary to rehash the previous seasons. I mean, you would have to be living under a very big rock not to know how and why the Browns relocated to Las Vegas. Especially since we all know Kody running away from Lehi like he stole something was all a gimmick for the show. Showing Meri packing up that moving van while fake police sirens blared in the background was extremely dumb. And what gives with those apparently over entitled Brown teens complaining about having to live in rental housing? They should be thankful it wasn't a homeless shelter.

Yep, I'm giving the ridiculous rehash the first  Raspie ever given. Enjoy!

Next up was the adult Browns doing an obligatory framing walk through of the McMansions. This walk through took place in October of 2012. I know this because it said "60 Days Before Christmas" across the bottom of my TV screen. Now, I've never had a home built from scratch, but I've always imagined it would be something like that wonderful old film, "Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House". Unfortunately, Kody is no Cary Grant, but the scenes where his wives start noticing discrepancies in the floor plans reminded me of when Mrs Blandings (Myrna Loy) walked through her house and noticed some problems, just like Meri, Robyn and Christine did. Hey, you don't think...oh noes! You mean those krazy producers scripted out the whole "these builders are too incompetent to follow a blueprint" scene for DRAMA?

Well, if it ain't WHAM, it ain't HAM! (Or something like that.). I'm gonna give my own self a Hyrum for that one!

Meri looking like she's enjoyed a lot of WHAM last year
That kind of explained why  Danny, the VP of Pinnacle Homes (you know, the builders) was so nonchalant about misplaced doorways. If I were the VP, I would have been mortified that 1) the construction crew couldn't read the blueprints correctly and 2) IT WAS ALL BEING DOCUMENTED ON FILM! But he just smiled and said something like "Oh yeah, we'll take care of it. Thanks for noticing it." Holy cow, what does THAT say about their customer service?

And does anyone understand why Robyn was so concerned about the lack of sunlight coming into a bedroom? Hey Robyn, you live in the desert. When it's 120 degrees outside, you do NOT want a lot of sunlight pouring into a room because it will take a lot of refrigeration to cool it down. And that means an electric bill the size of Kody's ego.

And it is really dumb how Kody keeps piping up in the couch interview "We don't own those houses, yet." Yeah, yeah, yeah. I believe that as much as I believe Christine wants a library.

Oh yeah, this segment is definitely deserving of a Raspie.

Good grief.  The next segment was about Robyn taking her hobby online business to the What Women Want Expo in St George. It started out with the family business meeting from Hell (in which Christine showed Robyn exactly what kind of polygamist mettle she was made of) and ended with a defeated Robyn licking her wounds in St. George.

So let's start with the family meeting.

Robyn has absolutely no business sense at all. Her jewelry is overpriced, and ugly. Even though Meri has a commitment elsewhere, Robyn wanted Meri to drive 4 hours to St George, stay for half an hour then turn around and drive back to Vegas. That just doesn't make any sense, and makes me wonder what other harebrained business decisions this woman has made.  At least it looked like she's made it to page 3 of her 200 page MSWC idea sketchbook. Wow, and it only took her a year to do it.

When Christine and Janelle made it clear to Robyn that her "hobby" business already cost them a lot of money, not only did Robyn act as if they had stabbed her in the back, she literally crumbled when Christine and Janelle announced they were going to pursue real estate in order to pay their bills. Okay, okay, so Christine's and Janelle's real estate jobs are kind of like, well, only for appearances purposes, at least they were thinking rationally and truthfully about the situation. Like when Christine said " I never intended to do more than this" meaning she supported Robyn's business by attending MSWC meetings and not walking out of them in disgust. Whether Robyn wants to admit it or not, MSWC was solely her idea, and it wasn't fair to demand her sister wives give 100% in an endeavor they believed won't amount to a hill of beans.

And here is where the irony of reality rears it's ugly head. Remember Robyn's tweets last year about getting her manicures and hair done because she works so darn hard she deserved to take a break? And don't forget her bringing in sister Taralyce to watch her kids while she  'worked'. In my book, girlfriend needs to work a little bit harder. She needs an Uncle Art throwing his boot at her silly head because all she really wanted was someone to boss around and do work while she enjoyed getting her nails and hair done, acting like the businesswoman she isn't.

To quote Christine: I'm sorry, but Robyn you deserve this Raspie.

I think Christine and Janelle deserve to enjoy a shared Hyrum for standing up to Robyn. I think it's ok because they are polygamists, so they're  use to sharing a man, right?

By the time the Kody Krew (sans Meri who defied Robyn by not driving to St George until the next day) arrived in St George, Robyn was all aflutter. You see, she's from St George, and she knows just how mean those non-polygamist people can be. So, if you know St George doesn't like polygamists, why would you go there to sell your polygamist branded overpriced, ugly jewelry with a big old sign announcing the name of your "store" as My Sister Wife's Closet? Even the plygs of Centennial Park had the good sense to call their restaurant business located just outside of Colorado City the 'Merry Wives Cafe'. Maybe she should have called her business Robyn's Closet after all?

Robyn gets a Raspie for not knowing who her customers are, and poor branding.

And Kody is no better at being a business mastermind. When the expo opened and people were milling around their booth, Kody's main concern was for the crowd to show him their wallet. Needless to say, due to the utter lack of salesmanship of the Kody Krew (like, isn't that Kody's real 'job'?) - they needed to sell over 120 pieces of jewelry by Janelle's accounting to break even - by the end of the expo they only sold 19 pieces. Now, if I remember correctly, the 2012 Christmas Ornament (for $19.95) was introduced at the expo and apparently sold out. Does it take a rocket scientist to realize maybe the jewelry is overpriced? Christine came to that conclusion by scoping out the other booths that were selling jewelry, but Robyn couldn't figure it out. And Kody, also without a clue, just wanted people (their FANS) to open up their wallets and give the Browns all their money for some expensive crap because he thinks it's "iconic". And when their fan base didn't come through, Kody placed the blame on those bible thumping anti-polygamists. Really Kody, if polygamists are not liked in St George, perhaps you shouldn't rub St George citizen's faces in the fact you're a polygamist. Either stand proud or stand down, Kody. And Janelle, enough with the Stand by Your Man admiration of your 7th child.

Kody, Robyn and Janelle all share an Uncle Art Raspie. Christine and Meri lucked out this time.

Once it was all over, it was so painfully obvious Robyn had no clue what women wanted, and the lack of sales clearly demonstrated the women at the expo did not want to waste any money on the "iconic" crapfest known as MSWC. And I don't care how much Robyn sobs that the four families need MSWC in order to stay together. No, Robyn, the four families needs the 5 adults to get off their collective fat asses and GET REAL JOBS!

And what episode would be complete without the continuing saga of Meri and whether she has decided to take Robyn up on her offer to be a surrogate for her. Meri tells Robyn she doesn't know what she wants. Robyn tells Meri she doesn't want to pressure her because she wants Meri to be free to have a choice of having a baby. Meri tells Robyn she doesn't know what she wants. Robyn tells Meri she wants her to have a choice because Meri gave Robyn the choice to marry Kody. Meri feels guilty. Robyn cries. Poor Sol ages another year. And Meri still doesn't make a decision. What the HELL!!!

Yep, these two "ladies" share a Raspie for wasting viewers time having to watch this nonsense!

Thank goodness, the final minutes of the episode was focused on Sol's first birthday party. I'd give it a Hyrum, but I don't think releasing balloons into the air is an environmentally sound practice.

Sol's balloons inside Meri's house before being released outside

As the balloons celebrating Sol's birthday slowly lift off into the upper atmosphere, we are left to ponder - wouldn't that many balloons be a threat to airliners flying in the vicinity?

  2. Isn't it pathetic that other wife's building "errors" had to be fixed and Christine just had to "accept it" and turn her planned room into a "library"?

  4. This story line is so old. It bores me to tears. I just don't understand why they don't even try. It's always the five of them, pretending to be entrapanuers, and acting like they are interested in the family's financial problems even though they are in the middle of the suburban equivalent of my penis is bigger than yours (My wet bar is bigger than yours)
I hope those kids milk Vegas and the show for everything its worth. I know they are coming off spoiled now but I don't get the impression they had much handed to them before. I mean its hard to afford gifts for your seventeen children when you file for bankruptcy once a week and you have to take the new wife to Mexico.

  5. Two things
    1. It's a little strange to me that no matter who the wife is allll the kids end up looking alike, even with Sol! He already looks like all 13? of the others.
    2. Remember during the Sol wish part when Robyn said blah blah for King Sol to find love with his wives (emphasis on the plural) anyway I don't know, that was weird to me.

I just flashed forward 25-30 years with Sol living in a shack with three wives, him sitting out on the porch scratching his butt....but hey he's with his true lovzzzzzzzz GAG

I'd love a twist where Sol grows older and realizes he's...gay. it could happen. WHAT WOULD ROBYN DO??? OMG OMG

    2. Oh my gosh, that was the most annoying part of the entire episode for me when Robyn said that. And she had the dumbest look on her face like she was so clever for saying that. I don't know how Christine hasn't slapped her yet.

It is ironic that so many of the kids look alike except for a couple of Janelle's kids and Robyn's older kids. Remember how Kody was so quick to point out that Sol looked just like one of his kids right after he was born? They are all cute kids and I missed seeing more of them in this episode, they are the best part of this show.

      Delete
    3. Sol does resemble the other Brown kids, for sure. But I also see a lot of Breanna in him.

      Delete
    4. So Sobbyn says she wants Sol to find his true lovezzzzz, but when they get on the couch, the Browns say they don't push this lifestyle on the kids. Just another shining example of talking out of both sides of their collective asses. How can you tell if a Brown is lying? Their lips are moving.

    5. There must be a (google it?) source for this somewhere-- I've recently heard the predominance of children resemble dad the first year of life. The hypothesis is: This must contribute to bonding.

I'd suggest SW demonstrates this, except for Truely.

Maybe our shocked reaction at the King Sol hoop-la, was picked up and continues to be exaggerated for the TV script.

    6. I heard its from prehistoric times. If a newborn baby resembled its caveman father, he didn't disown it. Anyway, here's a NY Times article called The Claim: Babies Tend to Look Like Their Fathers.

  8. I have seen Kody hold baby Sol more then any of the other children put together. What happened to baby Truly? Was she quickly forgotten with his honey/money moon with Robyn? I know there were lots of changes when Truly was born, he was engaged to his kissing girlfriend, they had just started a reality show so all of a sudden things were rolling in for them they never had before... like regular meals consisting of more then mac n cheese. I think Kody ran with the money pot when it all began rolling in and his mind is racing ahead of the gravy train. But just like a good Thanksgiving meal it will come to an end one day and hopefully his sister, emm, I mean uh wife Janelle will have figured out the families resources so they do not loose the houses. Why are the houses so important? Because they are replacing the hair Kody has lost. Look, I am so hot I drive a sports car and do not own one really great house but 4! And did I tell you I have FOUR wives? Christine will still know how to rack up the food stamps and shop cheap to feed them and maybe her worth will return. She can still iron a shirt and match socks so sure he can find some use for her when # 4 goes running when the money is gone in search of her soul mate who has a larger ... um, wallet? Meri is faithful so she will weep tears and say something like well it is good I did not have 8 kids because I am saving the family money on the food bill. Oh, did I tell you Mariah and her husband and his other 3 wives, 23 kids are moving in to help pay my mortgage? I WILL NOT LOOSE MY HOUSE or my wet bar either!!
People keep saying they should get jobs and live within their means. I wonder what kind of people think they could live within their means. None of them are capable of living within their means. None of them could make enough money at a regular job that they are qualified to do to pay a mortgage on one of those homes. 2 of them have no real education. Meri has some community school classes that might might earn her an 11 dollar an hour job. Janelle has some college although not sure what her major or if a 4 year degree. She might earn 40,000 if she could land a job in her field? Robyn was a Nurse Assistant average wage is about 2 or 3 dollars more an hour then minimum wage... not enough to make more then her electric bill and maybe get her nails done. Christine has had some minimum wage type jobs, quite a while ago and earned her some kind of on line certificate to assist in sale of real estate. She could marry well though if a man does not mind having a whole gaggle of kids that come along with her.
If the family was hard up on money they would not throw parties for each kid. Maybe one monthly birthday party for the kids born in that month. Saves on supplies and food.
Here the girls talk about their marriage plans:

    1. I believe Janelle has an accounting degree or some sort of business degree from a 4 year college. Meri really has no excuse for not having a 4 year degree yet despite claiming to want one.

All 5 adults need to get stable, 40 hour a week jobs ASAP. It boggles my mind that they are all just sitting around doing nothing and playing with an online business when they could be working their way up in a company right now. I am still on the fence about whether Janelle is really working hard at the realty company or if she has decided she is done being the main bread winner.

Side note, I saw a picture of Logan working construction for the summer. Who wants to bet he makes more working with summer than the jewelry business has brought in all year?

    2. Both Christine and Truly were forgotten when Robyn came into the picture. It's no wonder Christine isn't fully invested in the jewelry venture! When do Christine and Janelle get to see some of their own dreams and goals realized?

  11. I love this blog more than the show at this point (which many others have already stated).... YAWN to all of this season so far. To me it seems plainly obvious that Meri does NOT want another child but feels to guilty to come out and say it (pressure from her "religion" and her "husband" and the brainwashing all her life that the more children the better you are situated for the afterlife what with the planets and all)... Anyway, the only normal people with their heads on halfway straight at this point are the kids (except one who will remain nameless).... Anyway, I hope they bring back Polygamy USA. That was at least something you could learn a bit from. This - well, annoying is the best word I can come up with right now. Oh and the part about the kids all looking alike was spot on.

Thanks for this blog. I am addicted :)

  13. Regarding the fake "flight" to Vegas, with all of its drummed up drama, it's obvious how hard it is for some people to to be consistent about what they're saying when they're not telling the truth. In their lawsuit against the state of Utah (for daring to enforce the law) the Kody Klan claimed emotional and financial distress, as well as suffering and deprivation from being cut off from their religious community. They also claimed they wanted to go back to Utah if they could only feel safe! - yet what do we have here? -- Kody on twitter, telling the world how much he loves Vegas, and that he plans to stay there permanently."Kody Brown ‏@realkodybrown 21 Jul. I actually love living in Las Vegas. With homes for our family. I hope to make it my home town from here on." Kody, you need to write down what you say, so you can keep your story straight!

  14. I really enjoyed seeing Christine's excitement over all the wives homes during the walkthrough. She was, in my opinion, honestly thrilled for everyone. Did you see her when the guy said, Robin, we will head to your home first, Christine started clapping and said Yeaaaahhhh, aren't you excited Robin? Then in each home she seemed happy. Her home was last, of course, because I heard Janelle say, we should be headed over to your home next, due to the sun going down, and no light. And yes, it was getting dark. But she got all 12yr. old girlie excited about it and said "okaaaaaay, lets' go". I just found it cute. That one of the wives showed excitement for another. Robin just seems uncomfortable, all the time. Social anxiety. She looked like she had trouble getting excited going through her home. Christine asked her if she was excited, she just kinda did this thing with her hands, like she was sweating or something. She's just wierd. Sorry, but she has social issues.

    1. It is nice when we see a glimmer of the old Christine, happy and bubbly. Something strange is up with Robyn. Personally I think she regrets marrying Kody but will never admit it. She may be suffering from some health issues too, she doesn't look well.

    2. I thought Christine's excitement was cute too! Robyn just looks like she needs to poop...

    3. Funny you say that about Robyn, because it seems to me Meri in this episode looks constipated more than anything else. Gaining that much weight has to feel uncomfortable.

    4. I agree completely. I think christine has such a fun personality. It's nice to see her show it once in awhile, when she isn't being stifled by Robyn and Kody.

    5. I'm wondering if there is/was something going on with Robyn around this time, remember last summer she was looking very 'with child' maybe she went through a miscarriage, and during the time of filming that we are seeing now, she was going through the healing process? or some other kind of health issues? eating disorder? something had to of been going on to explain the weight fluctuation.

      Delete
    6. I still think she was pregnant and miscarried. She was wearing maternity clothes for a part of the season, and even wore a maternity bathing suit on that trip with the Dargers. Now, nothing unusual about a woman who has a baby still wearing maternity clothes, but Robyn did lose weight after Sol and looked like her old self. Then, she suddenly looked like she had a belly and was wearing maternity clothes. Weird. Now she is skinny again. I wonder if we will ever know the truth?

    7. IMO, if Robyn or ANY of the wives had a miscarriage we would've heard about it BIG TIME. Meri's brought her own miscarriage up a bunch of times.

Are each of the wives watching separately in their bedrooms throwing things at the TV? The tree-hugger in me cringed thinking of all those broken bits of balloon and tangled strings stuck in trees, streams and various body parts of unsuspecting wildlife.

During the expo, I absolutely loved the face of the woman who told Robin she was running to the ATM to get money as she turned around and walked away. You could see her fake excited smile turn to a huffed sigh of relief and an eye dart to figure out which was the fastest direction to get her far away from there.

    1. She posted on another page here that she did go back and buy something for a friend as a Christmas gift, and that Kody and the wives actually signed a card. She was excited about that event, but did a 180 when she saw that it was edited to make it look like she just used that excuse to get away. She was not happy about being made to look like a liar.

I'm pretty sure that she and her friend are still trying to scrub the iconic green marks off the friend's neck from wearing the jewelry.

    8. Yeah, maybe Robyn was lying for drama. Or maybe there was someone else who came by and expressed interest and then didn't come back. The Browns don't control the editing process and they condensed many days into this one short episode.

    9. When my kids were little, they would have been bawling if I had let their balloons float away. If they got a free balloon from a store I would tie it to their wrist so they wouldn't lose it. 10. I'm with Anon 12:11. Sounded like a Frankenbite to me. There was an editing discontinuity right there. Reality show editors are hardly know for being sticklers for truth.

Not to defend these people's intelligence too much, but I think even the Browns aren't stupid enough to be convinced there is a market for polygamist jewelry. I think it was a plotline thought up by producers, to deliberately sound like a ridiculous flop and manufacture drama. Same with trip to Saint George.

They have always sent the boys to Montana to the ranch for some good hard labor in the summer.

I think it's great Christine got a license in something given not only does she do the child care for everyone, no one takes care of her kids. I think janelle and Christine tag team better than the rest.

    2. Kody wasn't happy at getting the laptop as a gift either as he wanted a fun gift. I seriously don't understand what he does all day long. He doesn't appear to work anywhere at all. He doesn't appear to spend much time with any of his kids. He doesn't behave as a real man should when caring for his family. I don't care how large or small that may be. A real man works hard to provide. He doesn't prance around all day long expecting his wives to do the heavy lifting. I hope that those 4 women wake up and realise they don't actually need him for anythng. They can change their own light bulbs!

  25. It's been "all about Robyn" since she came into this, and frankly, I'm tired of Robyn. I'm tired of Meri, too. They invested in this jewelry venture...again, all about Robyn...but what ever happened to the fitness venture that Janelle wanted? Seems to me that the fitness idea would have been more beneficial for all, than some overpriced jewelry. Were we trying to make sure Robyn felt welcome in the family? is that why y'all went overboard in supporting her scheme? What about Janelle? Seems to me that woman (Janelle) works her behind off to help support this family, and they can't support her in her weight loss, or in the direction of fitness. They all could benefit from gym time, so even if it wouldn't have been as easy profit as they wanted, they'd be getting healthier. I'd like to see more support for Janelle or Christine. What about what they want in life? Does it matter, or is it all about Robyn and Meri now? I used to have respect for Meri, but not after she became a whiner. Meri the whiner. Robyn the crybaby. Wow! Go Christine and Janelle! You're the reasons I keep watching this show.

  26. And do we really believe that the filmed walked-through was really the first time they saw their houses in that phase, and that it was really the first time the General Contractor on the job was hearing about the mistakes on the various houses? Really??

No one buying TWO Million of construction would wait until the houses are under roof, studded out and walled, to "view" them for the first time.

    Another made-for-TV Kodyworld moment !!

  27. Back in the olden days, when "the law" was after polygmists families, the father disappeared. It would have saved a lot of drama if Kody had just disappeared when the rumor of "the law" was going to come after them. Also, there are so many polygamists groups in Utah that the chances of "the law" trying to convict and punish him would have been so remote. All four wives were above the age of parental consent. This Las Vegas move was nonsense. Kody should have disapeared for awhile while they built an addition onto the house for Robyn. The only good thing about this move was that the kids were able to go go public school and be around peers outside of their religion. Utility bills on those houses are unbelievable.Too much space for kids who will be leaving home soon. Just waiting for the day when Janelle leaves the family.

  28. Great review! As others have said, much better than show.
It has probay been mentioned somewhere but.....wonder how closely related Kody & Meri are? To me they look very much alike. Janelle's girls and Christine's look more like their mothers to me. You can certainly tell all those kids are related.
I too would live to see a spin off show with just Christine & Janelle. I find them both more interesting than the other adults. More if all the kids would be a refreshing change.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Have to say that Janelle is enjoying wearing quite a halo and heroine's badge with many folks.

    Yes, she worked in Lehi.
And she also said that she chose to work because staying home and caring for her 6 kids, 24/7, wasn't to her liking. So yes, she worked, while Christine was the *solo* daycare worker for her 6 kids, as well as Janelle's 6 kids. Probably Mariah was in that mix too.

Lucky for Janelle, she found that arrangement perfect for her temperament and desires. That bonus of having onsite childcare may have been a part of why she came back after she had left for 2 years.

However, I just don't see where Janelle is the brains or financial activist of the family at all.

Yes, the show had her presenting a plan for a fitness center several seasons ago.
A plan that didn't seem to be organized or fleshed out much beyond printing info from the Internet. And seriously, at that time, Janelle and Christine, and Meri to an extent, were very overweight. A project like that should have been the goal *after* they became fit. And had it gone that way, it could have been a doable PR sell.
But now the economy is against any business trying to break into the fitness industry. People are hurting and skimming expenses. As usual, the Browns are a day late and a dollar short.

It's been over TWO years since they left Lehi. Her kids were all in school. Nothing was stopping Janelle from getting a job, any job. But she didn't.

Also, Janelle passively sits back and stays under the radar during the dramas, even dramas that affect her own kids..like her two sons being filmed slugging each other at the tree farm.

It may be a shrewd strategy on her part when it comes to dodging public observation and criticism, but that MO doesn't automatically make her smarter or more responsible.
They all will live lazily and carelessly as long as the TLC/F8 checks keep coming.
Janelle is as much a part of the insanity and irresponsibility as the rest of them.

    1. Even in the best of times the fitness industry is highly competitive and subject to trends and price cutting. I thought Janelle's "presentation" was LAME - all she looked at was lease rates per square foot and how many members they would need to join (I'm guessing based on $100/month dues - good luck w/dat when Planet Fitness is offering a whole YEAR membership for not much more). If she had started shopping equipment she would've gotten real sticker shock - just one club-quality treadmill or elliptical can cost thousands and since they aren't a big chain they wouldn't get any special discounts. And once other clubs started offering new more cutting edge classes or equipment the Browns would have had to offer it to in order to stay competitive...shit why am I even bringing this up? It's clear they never intended to go through with it in the first place - it was just Kody pissing in the wind for a plot line.

    3. Janelle owned her own business which carried them for years. She used to be the only wife working full time. Because she was raised outside in the LDS world she has the most education of any other them. Kody converted just after his mission, he maybe has a year or two of college.

I didn't see Robyn earn certification to do anything. All she brought to the marriage was debt. They invested in this and are trying to live off this and it's not been taking off. Move on. Plan b. They see it.

    4. Did I miss something? What business did Janelle owned that made enough money to carry the family for years? That "business: wasn't mentioned in their book, and she did work for the state of Utah. You can't be talking about that shelving business she got a license for because do you have proof that business actually made any money? And I don't see how being raised in the LDS world means she has more education.

A business that carried them for years???

She had a government/state desk job.
Not great pay, but likely a steady income.

    6. I do think that Janelle being raised in the mainstream church means she had more of a chance for un-biased education than the other wives. She didn't have this lifestyle shoved down her throat from an early age, she chose it. I agree that Janelle appears to be the most educated and logical wife, however she may be the dumbest because she is an educated woman who had other opportunities but still chose to be the second wife of an irresponsible man. She has also chosen to put her kids in uncomfortable situations and let Meri's needs come before her children.

It is no wonder that Christine, Meri, and Robyn are passive-aggressive and emotional manipulators. They were raised in a lifestyle that taught them that they can only get into heaven by having a polygamous husband.

Want to know who the smartest wife is? The only one who is legally married to Kody, has the biggest house despite only having 1 adult child, and never working full time. She also manages to get a good majority of Kody's attention by crying a lot. Now that is a smart woman.

    9. There is absolutely NO evidence that any "business" that the Browns INCLUDING Janelle started was actually an income generator of any significance. I know that the state records show she had some sort of food storage business, and Kody had a gun business...but there's NO evidence that anything came of either of those ventures. For all we know, it could have been the same as "Fundamental Fitness" - they registered the name and then did absolutely nothing with it.

I've said this before - Kody likes beginnings, but he doesn't like middles and doesn't stick around for endings. I would say at this point, that goes for ALL the Brown adults. THERE IS NO FOLLOW THROUGH. The ONLY reason there is even any follow through on the freaking MSWC is because it is a plot line that is keeping their REAL bread and butter -the TeeVee show - from being cancelled.

I think it's pretty clear at this point that LIV is on its last legs as far as the Browns are concerned. If they're keeping the "company car" it's because they're making co-pays.

      Delete
    10. I agree! This was the point I was trying to make under a previous post. Janelle does portray herself as the heroine as you say. When she is not better then anyone. That's why I think she is manipulative, she knows when to speak up and when not to to make everybody see her in a sympathetic light. Speaking of the whole Hunter situtation as mentioned above, she should have stood up for her kid. And if she really felt, that Meri getting a big house got in the way of her being able to feed her kids then why in the world would she allow it to happen??

      Delete
    11. Janelle is well spoken - she thinks before she speaks. Probably this comes from working in the "real" world.

But I don't think she's really that much smarter than the others. And she's obviously besotted with Kody. Love is blind, but it can be stupid too.

  31. Things that make me go hmmmmmm and sigh with sadness:

Hunter seems to have been silenced since he gave his opinion on his Dads new "marriage". In fact the only teen that seems to be allowed to talk anymore is Mariah, is that because she says what they want her to say?

My favorite used to be the ones that had their own opinions, spoke their own minds, whether Sobbin and Kodouche agreed with it or not.

The children are far more interesting than the adults and always have been. Now its all about what they have, what they want, all material things. Its so far away from being a family anymore.......but was it ever about that? I don't think so....I think its always from day one been about money, greed, and bleeding us beasts. Im done watching this fiasco but I will maintain my membership with this blog because this blog truly feels more like family than that Brown show ever did.

      I noticed that too.
In fact, way back after Sobbin was added, that was definitely a *grrrr* moment for me when Sobbin made Hunter's lack of adoration for her a source of her distress and pity party.

Janelle *should* have squashed that. That kid did not deserve to be targeted publicly like that. I really felt for him during that time.
As usual though, with the cameras rolling, Janelle said nothing.
She should have at least insisted that it be cut out and not aired.

Also, did anyone notice in that interview clip CJ posted, when they all were rambling about the kids now liking to go to the various McMansions, Sobbin loudly said that "Hunter" liked to be over at hers.
      I call BS on that.

    2. Nope, Hunter probably still escapes to Christine's house along with Robyn's kids. Christine's house is probably the fun house. Really, have we seen any interaction with the other kids and Robyn since season 1?

      Delete
    3. Yes I'd forgotten about that! It was awful when Queen Robyn made Hunter bow down and pay homage to King Sol. And I don't want to rag on Mariah because she is young but she comes off like a spoiled brat sometimes. In that preview clip where she tells Meri you're not sorry, I'm sorry she's sad about it but making her mom feel so guilty about the whole thing is really manipulative.

      Delete
    4. I think it was Christine that said that Hunter comes over to her house. I bet he has a pretty strong bond with her. She probably is the one who has mostly raised him and fed him. Maybe that is why he had such a tough time when Robyn came into the family, because Christine was having a hard time. Maybe he saw how different Kody began to treat her?

      Delete
    5. Plygaddict - good insight, hadn't thought that before. There may have been some sexual tension issues Hunter has with Robyn as well. Christine just seems like she would be a comfort, if I had to pick a safe house to escape to,it would be hers.

      Delete
    6. Yes, Christine fed Hunter because Janelle kept the heat on the range, and food in the pantry. Janelle also met financial needs for Christine's family, and set a role model (necessary these days) of a strong mom, happy to work.

Both sets of children benefitted from the care of these two strong women who gave them the best of roles all women struggle to blend.

Janelle seems strong, recognizing Hunter is blazing his own trail and needs "teen space". She seems confident in their relationship so can "let him go", and is blessed his first steps to independence are successful ones in his sports team, and healthy school relationships as well as growing-space in his own extended family where her faith is respected.

  32. I like above when someone correctly pegged it has become all about Robyn and Meri. Janelle and Christine are barely even in the episode. I watched again and it is about what Robyn wants. Well Robyn does not clearly know what women want. I hope their are episodes where they spotlight Janelle and Christine. And no they are not wearing a halo in any way. They may be a little more aware of the impression made and the reactions of people around them. Robyn is all about Robyn and does not always key into what others are saying with their reactions. I watched the final part and her kids are out there dancing around and she is so no even paying attention to them and what they want and need. When the different families posed for pictures in front of their homes Janelles family looked like a healthy crew of kids and I am sorry for those who disagree, I think Kody loves Janelle. I think they are total opposites and it works for them. I think Kody loved Christine but now Robyn and Meri have made her the outsider and convinced him to jump ship because she did not fall in love with Robyn. Meri and Robyn are mean girls and pushed her out of the click. I hope she is so getting some action in Vegas because after all, she is single .... really! Her children look in the picture free to express their own opinions and fashion sense and look like they could use some fatherly love. Meris little family is all about Mariah how can a child of a family of 17 be so much like an only child? Robyns kids? Wow. If they survive this family and grow up they will be the ones writing the book!

That's part of why Robyn looks so much worse because she's so upset all the time.

    4. I think that you hit the nail on the head here...I think that he and Janelle probably would have been a typical LDS couple. I hope that Christine finds someone new. I've said before that TLC could probably get E Harmony, or Match.com to sponsor that. Can you imagine if Christine left Kody and found someone new, someone who loved her and treated her right? The ratings would be through the roof! Especially since they all live in the same cul de sac now. They would be neighbors and former Sister Wives and on competing shows. I can't stand Robyn, what kind of an idiot claims to have "fled" from Utah over persecution then goes right back there to sell their jewelry. A business called MSWC in St. George, Utah? That brings up images of prarie dresses, if Rob is from there she should know this. Isn't Kody supposed to have worked in marketing? They had to know that jewelry wasn't going to sell, you can find prettier pieces on ETSY for cheaper. It is REALLY overpriced. Iconic? Iconic to who? Other Plygs? Is that who they thought would come out from Cenntenial Park to support them? I hardly think people were "thumping their Bibles" to get rid of them, their jewelry was just ugly and over priced...Since TLC is clearly scripting this show why don't they bring in some real writers and stir up that pot, make it interesting? We all already know that Meri doesn't want any more kids, she isn't going to have Rob carry one for her, they already beat this horse to death. Get Meri a harley and see where it leads her!

    5. Christine might be a nice person but *good luck* finding a guy willing to take on six kids that aren't his. Since Christine has never really proven an ability to generate sufficient income to support herself let alone her kids he would have to be really good at bringing home the bacon, since I'm assuming if they stayed in the house he'd be on the hook to pay the mortgage.

    6. I agree Magee, I've always said she was the prettiest, and if she lost some weight, imagine her beautiful cheekbones coming out, and she doesn't have to wear a lot of makeup, but her smile, and trying to be encouraging, I have seen that in her a lot. She tries. Remember when Robin and Kody announced to the family they were expecting Sol? It was at Meris house I believe, during a family party of some sort. Everyone just stood there, stonefaced, the teens looked like they were angry/wanted to cry, Janelle just looked straight ahead, spaced out, and bless Christine, she hurried over to Robin with a big smile, and said congratulations, and hugged Robin. You know she had to feel pain like the others, but she didn't show it. She put Robins excitement before her own pain, and I for one, think she tries. I know a lot don't like her, but I do. She's a hands on mom, she tries to help the family in all different ways, she makes herself available for the other moms I believe. They don't give her the same back. I think she would love a close bond with another wife, but with all the trouble Meri caused the new wives...Janelle and Christine, it was probably hard for her to get to that place that she desired. I don't think it was her fault entirely. And now, well, I think she would still like a bond, but with who? Meri and Robin I'm sure do not make it easy to become close to them, and who could trust them? I mean, you have to have trust to have a close bond with a sisterwife. Neither one is trustworthy in my opinion. I think Robin would run to Kody and tell him everything Christine said or done while supposedly being a friend to Christine. I just betcha. I would befriend Christine in a heartbeat.

    7. I don't know Dakota Justice, they have a reality show after all. I could imagine that Christine could find a new man. With the large LDS community in Las Vegas she could find someone. I agree with you that six kids is a lot but Kody would have to pay child support. It could work...There must be someone out there that would take on this challenge. If TLC wants better ratings this is a good direction to take. Either that or like I said buy Meri a Harley and introduce her to a certain community...I am still trying to figure out where these people work? They have a lot of family meetings about everything, they talk a lot about how to start making money but never talk about what they actually do. Come on TLC you likely had a hand in recruiting Robyn, recruit a new love for one of the ladies, Christine or Janelle. All neighbors, all former Sister Wives, half siblings and possibly step children, its like a 21st century Brady Bunchish scenario. Really!

    8. A reality show isn't exactly a sure thing. Look at Jon Gosselin for example. Kate too, she's apparently scrambling. I know there are a certain percentage of people here who feel that a show about Janelle and/or Christine on their own would be compelling viewing, but even if they WERE to split from Kody and the rest there is 1) my suspicion that Janelle doesn't really care for the constant filming of her family and 2) there is only so much story to be told. I think a split-off show would be at most one or two episodes.

Kody pay child support? with what pray tell? his 1/5 or whatever it is of the TLC money? I'm sure it's not a huge fortune especially once it's split up and taxes are deducted (yup they still have to pay the IRS even if NV doesn't have taxes). also I believe a judge would look at the overall picture (total amount of kids that Kody is father to) and base any judgement on that, which means it won't be much.

As far as Robyn, from all I've read, she was already involved courting with Kody long before Puddle Monkey Productions came knocking.

  33. For the first time, I noticed the lame music that TLC dubbed into the background. It was dramatic and foreshadowing, like TLC wanted us to know that the meeting was going to be a disaster and the expo was going to be a bust. It made me roll my eyes and groan to see the level that TLC stooped to for the extra drama factor.

And all of Kody's kids look like him except for Janelle's. I remember seeing pictures somewhere of Madison as a child and she looked exactly like Savannah and Janelle.

I have to disagree with you though, Hunter looks like Kody. Madison Savanah look like Janelle, and I don't know where Logan came from, but he does look exactly like one of his cousins in Wyoming from the 1st season.

Most Christine's girls got the best parts of their parents. I think Aspyn by far is the most beautiful of the elder teens.

  34. I feel very bad for Robyn's kids. Unless their real life is very different than portrayed on the show, they get very little attention from Mom or Kody. 35. The sheer fact that this blog even exists is a testament to TLC that they are doing something right. All of us are STILL watching this show even though we can't stand it and can see right through everything. Ratings are ratings. Whether we watch the show to poke fun or because we really want to see how the family is doing doesn't matter to TLC. All they care about is whether or not they have an audience. Plain and simple. "Faking Amish" NY didn't stop TLC from making a new series filmed in LA. And I refuse to watch "honey boo boo". Can't stand the crassness. I simply can't believe how people live like "that". Maybe that is why we keep tuning in, because all these people on TLC are NUTS!

Remember last season when she said none of the ladies offered to babysit Truly while she studied for her real estate license? I felt badly for her then, but now I wonder if Christine has been off by herself on purpose and in turn, then the other ladies don't reach out to her, like the feeling and effort is mutual.

    2. Christine said something like Robin & Meri have such a tight bond, that she was missing out on great relationships but that it was soooo much work. Well that tells me right there how she feels about making effort on everything in their lives. These are basically 5 people who are drifting, spinning their wheels with a whole lot of talk but not a lot of action and apparently zero results in their business ventures.

Going back to the Robin / CHristine thing, wasn't Christine already pregnant when Kody started "courting" Robin? Who wants their husband off with a pretty young thing while they're feeling fat & ugly when pregnant? None of us! I'm not surprised at Christine's hurt feelings and jealousies. Also, I haven't seen any interractions shown on tv where Kody was actually nice to Christine in the last couple years.

I think the move to Vegas and the resulting separate living situation has enabled Christine and Janelle to "find" themselves more than they ever did in Lehi. Just hearing them talk about about focusing on their real estate, liking their space, privacy and separate living makes me wonder just how deep the cracks run. I think pretty deep. Especially when you hear the shift in Janelle talking about paying her mortgage, paying her food bill, making sure her bills were taken care of. What a huge difference from before when she talked about the family finances as a group responsibility! I think she may be further gone than we thought.

    3. Those comments by Chistine actually really pissed me off. Isn't that the WHOLE purpose of poly? To have great sisterwives? To talk to them more that you talk to your husband? To depend on them for help and to help in return? In her opening statement she says "I didn't just want the man, I wanted the whole family" well she obviously doesn't care to have the whole family now if she's not even willing to invest in friendships. It just annoys me. Why are they living poly again? Cause it makes them better people? It makes zero sense to me.

    4. @Sandy, we can only hope that Janelle and Christine have found more of themselves and are ready to look out for number 1! Maybe Janell's kids going off to college pushed her to realize that her kids depend on her to help them through and this started a change? Whatever the case, I don't see Janelle ponying up money for the other wives anymore when her bills need paying and her kids have tuition due.

If Kody were a smart polygamous husband, he would have wanted Christine to succeed on her test and would have assigned wives to watch her kids while she studied. Or he would have watched his own kids himself. Her making money only benefits him and his family. However, Kody is not a smart man, otherwise there would be no Sisterwives blog and that would be very sad.

      Delete
    5. I think Christine got really ripped off. While the family was poor and scraping by she watched and fed all 13 kids including homeschooling for years. Now that no one is working she gets zip in return. No one to even watch her ONE toddler so she can study! I'm sure most of the kids are closer to her then their own mother cause she raised them all! People give Janelle a lot of credit for raising great kids but Christine raised them!

      Delete
    6. Kody didnt support Christine taking the RE test and expected her to fail because he himself wouldnt or couldnt pass it..he backed out of the real esate idea when christine got her book in the mail. Janelle said it just wasnt his thing..code for hes to stupid tp pass the test. So he has to did Christine.

      Delete
    7. Yes! Christine makes me mad too. Instead of dumping on the other women for not OFFERING to watch her kids. Get Kody to watch his kid. Get one of her older kids to watch the baby. ASK one of the other wives for help.

Considering Christine's definition of being supportive of her sister wives, the other wives were supportive of her because none of them laughed in her face.

      Delete
    8. Christine has been carrying the raising load. Janelle and Meri didn't have issues of childcare cause christine was there when they worked or went to school. Which is fine since janelle loves working and she loves childcare. But when is it her turn? This is supposed to be the perk.

None of them have done any reading on aspergers. I feel for Robyn's oldest.

Did they have objection to the kid's being part of another churches activity group, why is Mariah in seminary?

      Delete
    9. Maybe Christine knows that it is all one sided. Sometimes a person (Christine) can try and the others (Meri and Robyn) just won't give back. Meri and Robyn do have that superior air about them. Meri being the queen bee (1st wife) and Robyn is the hot one (she thinks).
If I'm remembering correctly Christine did reach out to Robyn and apologized for being jealous. They met for lunch and Truely and Sol were with them. Just a thought

      Delete
  40. Did Christine ask the others go babysit or did she expect them to just offer? If it were the first case, shame on the sister wives. Otherwise shame on Christine.
People aren't mind readers but are often willing to help if asked.

Christine said it herself, she doesn't want to put in the time and effort. With that attitude, the big question is, why not just leave?

    1. She was probably afraid to ask or got shot down if she did ask. Kody is extremely abusive to her. He lashes out and twists everything. Meri and Robyn are passive aggressive with her and she would probably end up apologizing for asking. It's pathetic that she allows it but that is what happens over time with abused women. I feel so sorry for all those children.

You are right !! I went back to the clip and it was Sobbin who loudly said it (that part I did remember)...she's the one who said that Hunter hangs *at Christine's* house. Thanks for the clarification.
That makes much more sense. But wouldn't you think, given how she maligned that kid, she wouldn't have even brought that fact up?

  43. I am starting to think with the way the Robyn acts that she believes the show was supposed to be focused on HER entering an existing plyg family, not a plyg family with another wife being added into the mix, focusing on the family as a WHOLE. It's Robyn's show, and Meri is her ally.

    1. Interesting point of view . . . makes sense, actually. And, unfortunately, no one told Kody or the other wives that Robyn would be the focus of the show (since that concept is just a figment of her imagination). They are all totally unaware of this fact. Along with a lot of other things.

      Delete
    2. If you think about it, Meri, Robyn, and Kody each seem to view themselves as the 'star' Jenelle and Christine seem to 'appear' to be the only ones who focus on things as a family, at least at one point they did.

Robyn was always about, I'm joining the family, I hope they see my value, my kids, my role, etc.
Meri, had my infertility, I'm the first wife, I found Robyn, I have issues wish it were MY wedding night.
Kody, look at MY love being multiplied, look at me whip my hair.

  44. Great review of the episode. I probably would not watch the show if it wasn't for this blog. I wonder why did they chose jewelry as a business. If I were them, I would sell pajamas. Meri makes them for the "family' every Christmas. That has more of a meaning than silly overpriced jewelry.

  46. Why is that every show starts with a re-run of the last? Soon, very soon, they are not going to be able to sell commercial time during the one hour long rehash. So, basically, Sister Wives starts at 9:00 pm.

About the jewelry ... this is sad because it's so delusional. One of them said that they are stand-outs in St. George. They have to know they are stand-outs in every community, maybe even Lehi. The jewelry has no appeal to anyone other than, maybe, the Dargers. No monogamous wife would buy that jewelry and wear it anywhere, because who wants to send the message ... Hey, let's get another wife.

I'm interested in the lady's lives and the children and the family ... I do wish them well, but they have to get serious about what's marketable and what's not. Janelle and Christine are smart to pursue some other grounded goal to help them pay the mortgage on their houses after this show is over ... and I do think this show will be over after this season.

    ReplyDelete
  47. They are bitching at the expo that they only sold 19 pieces...their goal was 100 pieces to make a profit..janele said 100 of the higher end pieces so if they sold 100 pieces at $150.00 dollars each that 15,000.00.I have a feeling these people are pricing their jewelry based on what they perceive they need and not on what they should be priced at. There aggressive shipping fees were a clue that they were strictly looking for big cash right up front.their perspective on all of this is greedy.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Even if the jewelry were affordably priced would you buy? Do you know anyone who would? Imagine wearing the full claddagh necklace, or any piece, and someone asks you what it is:

"Thanks. It's a My Sister Wife's closet piece."

"Oh? From where ... that show with the guy and his four wives."

      "Yes!"

"Do you want to be a polygamist?"

      "No, of course not."

yeah right, person thinks, then why by the jewelry? You must secretly want to be a sister wife It's not a viable product. There's no market for it. I like Janelle, but I wouldn't buy clothes she designs either, even if I were plus sized. They're going to need real jobs, or one of them write a tell-all book.

    2. Janele dosnt need plus size clothes Robyn! that would defeat her path to loosing weight! she is so efin stupid

    3. Attractive, affordable plus size clothes could actually make them a lot of money. There are lots of potential customers and the available merchandise isn't all it could be. Unfortunately the Brown's have abysmal taste. There is nothing they wear or own that I would want.

      Delete
    4. Vegas has some awesome shopping and a fantastic mall only a few blocks off the strip. If Janelle really wanted new work out clothes she would be able to find what she's looking for pretty easily. I'm plus size and have no trouble finding modest work out clothes. I am glad she's working on herself and glad she wants to be involved and make money but she's going to see the biggest checks coming in from closing a sale and getting commissions.

Anyway, he says he can't sell because he is such a public person and public polygamist. Well, maybe if he didn't tell everyone he meets that he has FOUR WIVES, then he wouldn't be quite as public. Also, loved how he told the rock climber dude that he has a big family, but Robyn later said he had to manage four families. Which is it? One big family or four families? They can't even keep their stories straight in the same segment. Of course, Robyn is so far beyond the blithering stage of idiot that even a hardcore idiot like Kody can't even compete.

"This is the logo that represents the four of us." Huh?? You don't design something for yourSELF and expect others to buy it, you design things you think *your customer* will like. Also, why can't Kody watch his own children so Christine can work a weekend or an evening? It infuriated with me when he said "You aren't in a situation to have another wife step in and help with the kids." First of all, why not? If Christine watched 12 kids for several years while Janelle worked, why can't Robin or Meri watch a couple of Christine's younger kids? Secondly, why can't the kids' FATHER step in to help? These people drive me batty.

Especially since she claims to want another baby so bad.

  67. Watching tonight's episode made me really strongly realize some things:

    1. This show is long past a farce and is no longer about exposing the lifestyle of polygamy as you have a situation where you have 1 wife married to a man-wh0re who conveniently has his girlfriends/mistresses/baby mommas living on the same block. None of them work together as a whole family. They are 4 separate households/entities - period.

    2. Christine is LAZY and beyond daft. She struggled to pass the real estate exam and just now has learned that being a realtor involves working weekends and evening? What a complete dunce. So the time and money spent writing the exam was all a waste as you know now she won't be pursuing this. Great role model for her kids about doing your homework and following through on something.

    3. Kody is a colossal loser who knows nothing about being a real FATHER and I fault his 4 wives for being a party to this all. Kody flits in and out of their homes and lives twice a week at most (every 4th day/night as per the 'rotation'). He's admitted tonight that he doesn't like to discipline them or lay down the law because then he won't see the kids for 4 more days. Great parenting, what a lazy big fool. Shame on him and these women for bringing this many children into the world and for CHOOSING to provide such a chaotic, inconsistent homelife for these innocent kids. What kind of so-called MOTHER could be okay with this for her children?

    4. As per above, why did they NOT do whatever was necessary to all live under the same roof? Meri is a doosh who is more concerned about her wetbar and privacy and living the life of riley, I guess. REAL sisterwives share in raising ALL of the children, such that Christine wouldn't have an "excuse" to not work because she needs to be home for her kids. Puhlease.

    5. Mariah is an apple off of the Meri tree. Ungrateful brat to be complaining that she has to drive a minivan to high school. Boo freaking hoo. There are teens in this world who have no vehicle to drive.

    6. I like how Meri brought up how interesting it's going to be once they all live next door to each other, when each is really aware of what the other is doing and there's no longer any privacy. The way she said this, with her cat eating sh*t grin followed up by comment "and that's all I'm going to say about that" is her way of implying that the other wives are going to be jealous when they see how much time she spends with Kody. Passive aggressive wench.

    7. Um why would Janelle need to start up some plus size clothing line for their iconic Closet? What....you mean until they came onto the scene that plus-sized women had NO options for buying plus-sized modest workout wear? What a joke.

    8. Poor Sobbin, she SOOOOO needed a datenight with her lover because the poor woman needed a break from Sol. Oh dear, so hard done by. I wonder, is her sister still living with her and playing nanny? Aside from Janelle these women, and Kody too, wouldn't know hard work if it bit them in the arse.

Disgusted with the whole lazy lot of them.

    1. Agreed with everything you just said! I was so disgusted with Christine's attitude about working. Um, you planned and studied for this career, but then when you realize it might actually take "work" you're out? You want 6 kids and a mansion you better have a way to pay for it.

Mariah should just be grateful she has a free car to drive. I busted my butt to get my first car. Wonder if Aspyn got a free car too?

I really don't now what Meri was trying to get at, but I don't think she wants to live next to her besties.

Sobbin just doesn't get it that no one cares about her stupid business.

Kody doesn't get the concept of anything in general.

Many good, hard working folks have lost their jobs and their modest houses in the past 5 years. It is not a good feeling to see your friends and family struggling to survive, while people like this declare bankruptcies, default on credit cards they never intended to pay back but somehow wiggle their way into houses they don't deserve. The public support for the Brown family and goodwill toward them is probably gone. They are giving their community a real bad name.

  69. LOL Tonight my faith in reality TV was restored! During all the filming we have seen spotless houses, well except for Christine's carpet near her computer, and as the mother of three I was astounded. Now for sure, if a film crew was due at my house, I would try to make things spotless before they arrived. I so enjoyed Janelle's house when Garrison and Gabriel were fighting! Not a made bed in sight, boxes stacked against the wall and a pile of dirty laundry in the hall. So, do we have the Brown bunch getting used to the film crew, a serendipitous moment of filming during a scripted moment or the script writers needing a "real life" situation??

So what's in store for this coming week at Sister Wife's Closet? The unveiling of plus-sized workout clothes or more schlock jewelry that the Brown's have been sitting on for the year since this episode was filmed. Meri could have sewed up enough inventory in the interim to meet past demand for their wares but I'll bet they've have investigated the Asian marketplace where clothing is purchased by the ton. I know from reading here that many have said that tlc will not outright pay for the housing etc, and more then likely they do not have a "backer" per say, is it possible that maybe the builders financed the houses somehow for them since there is no way most, or all would be able to get financed on their own?

  73. I loved how when Robyn and Kody were on the date they kept throwing out their 'buzz lines' to the guy organizing the repelling. "we have a very large family' "wiveZZZZZZ" "its a spiritual marriage" "its not LEGAL" "we left utah" I wonder if they edited out him saying "you've probably heard of us, we have a show on TLC, wanna buy some pretty things"

The way they are talking in the interviews about how everything is going to be an adjustment is just foreshadowing to me, because you know that at the time of filming they have already began living in those houses. So they are just talking about how life is, knowing that by contract, they can't disclose too much information.

aka, life is a living hell, thats why they are filming us separately, we are a bunch of morons, buy our stuff.

  75. Ahhhhh mannnn!!! Janelle caved to Robyns silliness/jooerly business plan. She is definitely the mediator telling her how to get Christine involved... make it look fun and not like work and Christine will join in. LOL... that is what I look for in a job. No one to expect anything for it and only to pitch in when its fun. How can she just choose to not work? How can Meri and Robyn chose to not work and just do some little hobby business? It is for sure and I am certain they will lose these houses when the show ends. There is not a working adult in the family. Except Janelle who has not worked in the last two years who may be the Brown family purse strings and CEO. I think she makes foolish choices though to keep the peace and keep in favor with Kody.
Not going to say anything about he children under 18. Mariah is just like her mom. Spoiled and entitled. Does she get more camera time because she is getting paid more or because she is a only child? She really is an only child. They are not so much polygamists as they are each married to a man, each appears monogamous. He made being married a full time job. Really liked them in the first season before he married the trouble maker. Robyn was scared when Janelle came over alone because she did not have team Meri and Kody to be mean with her to Janelle. Robyn and Kody are still an item it appears. The other marriages are struggling. Robyn gets what she wants and that is so a cancer to the whole community. I know Christine sees and feels it.
All in all you can sure see the family has come unglued since the first season. Vegas has NOT been a good thing for them. They could have paid off their old house, added an addition or built a four plex and they would have been so much better off. Sad.

  76. So, when Kody said that he was so tired of people judging him and his wives, I screamed at the TV cause you put yourself and your wives and your kids on TV for us to decide...dude, that's judging. We have decided as have most of American and you are just a wee little balding man with a desire to have a harem...plain and simple...'cept your harem lacks the appeal of the stereotypical harem with belly dancing bodies.

And, all the wives who cannot share a business or a kitchen are trying to convince us that they can share a man. None of the fights that occur in the kitchen or in a business ever occur when their man jumps from one bed to another.

And, Janelle, your boys have some very serious anger issues and to have the TV crew there filming your crying son is about as cruel as Kate filming her potty training kids sitting on their potties.

Finally, I cannot even talk about the women individually because they try so hard to say they are not the robotic autotomotoms of the jeff warreen and such wives but dears, you are all three as robotic as those women with long hair and long dresses. Cheers to your immortal happiness and individual lives cause you ain't got it here.
