Season Finale: Sister's Special Delivery PART TWO

Now that we are at the halfway mark of this episode, this would be a good time to review  the different Kody Brown Family Units (KB-FU) and what the teenagers have to say about Robyn's new bundle...of joy.

First up, we have the House of Meri and Mariah. Remember how upset Mariah was in the first episode, when Kody announced Robyn's pregnancy? How she ran crying into the bathroom ? Well, nine months later she is firmly on board the 'I am so excited, I'm quivering!' Solomon love fest.  This is no doubt the result of Meri finally finding the sister wife she always wanted in Mommy Dearest Robyn. Mariah makes Solomon a quilt - Meri gives Solomon "space" in her spare room closet. Oh yes, she did put in some baby clothes, but you have to wonder where's she gonna put his clothes when he gets older and bigger. Looks like Meri's planning on turning the girls room into a Sol shrine.

The House of Christine (If you want a successful family, you DON'T have favorites) is a bit more complex. Her teenagers are mostly quiet, reacting  with body language and facial expressions. From Christine's "apology" earlier to Robyn, we know that she is looking forward to Solomon's birth. She feels Solomon loves her: When she puts her hand on Robyn's stomach, little Sol moves! Her own children are not, how do I put this nicely, so child-like.  Just look at Aspyn, Kody's eldest daughter. She acts like she's above all this nonsense. And Mykelti always looks  defiant. If I had to use one word to describe the two, it would be 'stoic'.

Now we come to the House of Janelle. We know Janelle is excited about the impending birth,  just not THAT excited. Janelle's too rational, and values her sleep too much to have it disturbed by the birth of Robyn's Sol.  Her teens, not surprisingly, run the full spectrum of emotion when it comes to this new baby. At one end is Kody's eldest son Logan, who tries to toe the Kody company line by rationalizing Robyn's motives for getting pregnant. She hasn't had a Brown baby yet, therefore it's okay, spouts Logan the Johnny Appleseed. Then there's Madison, who is clearly not too keen on a 17th child joining the family, but appears to be willing to babysit him - maybe. Hunter is almost off the scale on the opposite end from Logan. He wants nothing to do with the new baby and  feels there are already more children than the adults can handle. While Mariah exudes enthusiasm and love for her unborn half-brother, Hunter is perhaps more realistic of the situation surrounding his family by saying "I can't love someone I don't know." OUCH!!

You have to wonder, does Kody really understand what's going on in his families? Seems that his saying about love being multiplied and not divided isn't working out too good.

Before we enjoy Kody "coaching" Robyn giving birth to [poor old] Solomon [Grundy],  let's take a breather and  look at some o  f the stuff  Robyn has in her bedroom!

 Just like when Christine was in labor with Truely, Kody finds the need to kiss ANYONE as long as it's not the wife in labor. Now with Robyn in labor, Kody has chosen Meri to make out with in Robyn's house, on her staircase landing, outside her bedroom door.

Kody rationalizes his juvenile actions by claiming  he was exchanging love energy with Meri. Thank goodness they were only swapping spit and not some other bodily fluid.Couldn't he just pat Meri on the head like he usually does with his wives?

And when the midwife arrived, why did Kody have to walk BACKWARDS into Robyn's bedroom? I mean, it's not like that midwife was the Queen of England - I don't think she would have had him imprisoned in the Tower of London for turning his back to her and walking into the bedroom like a normal person would. Oh wait, we ARE talking about Kody who has to be the center of attention at all times. Just thank goodness there were no small children or animals in the way.

Okay, enough with the fluff - let's get down to the stuff. And Kody can get down, let me tell you. So I now present to you...Kody Brown Coaching Robyn...The UnRated version.

Kody: Relax right here...You're doing good, sweetheart 
Robyn: [moaning]
Kody: Here...focus...focus...That's it...

Kody: (to Robyn) I was impressed. You can have my kids anytime.

Awwww Kody, I bet you say that to all your wives! But Kody, ALL your babies look like you. You must have DNA of Steel! <shudder>

Oh my goodness, all the KB-FUs are present. Even Janelle showed up! All is right in the world, right? Let's all hold hands and sing Kumbaya, OK? Well, not so fast. You see, Mommy Dearest Robyn feels she's been slighted by a bonus child, and she will NOT let it go.

Sitting on her Queenly Throne, Mommy Dearest speaks of the "hurt" this bonus child has inflicted on her.

"When Hunter came in after Solomon was born," she begins, "...he's a little hesitant with me...and I've been hurt by it...with his whole place of where he's not sure if I'm his mom, or his dad's wife, wherever he's at with this whole thing, it's like he can't deny it when you've got a baby in your arms that's your dad's wife's baby."

Nicely put, Robyn. So eloquent and mature. You do realize that you're at least 18 years older than the teenager in question, I hope.

Please, allow me to translate your "thoughts" into a more, coherent form. Remember when Robyn said in the season premiere that "A baby is a physical manifestation that there is an intimate relationship between a husband and wife..." ? We thought she only was referring to those sister wives who were reluctant to accept her. Well, Robyn also applies this "logic" to her bonus children when she thinks they are refusing to see her relationship with Kody as anything but legitimate.

Isn't it sad how Robyn lacks the sensitivity she so demands from others? Isn't it sad she can't allow a teenager whose life was turned upside down, the opportunity to warm up slowly to a new family member  and would prefer to put HER feelings before those of a teenager so clearly in pain?

And then she tells Meri - while Meri is holding a just born Solomon, that she wants to be Meri's surrogate. To carry a piece of Meri and Kody in her golden womb. Holy cow, why didn't she make this offer 10 months ago when it would appear to be an altruistic gesture of love and family. Waiting until after giving birth to Meri's legal husband's child to make the offer just seems so egoistic and manipulative.

Maybe I'm being too harsh, but this woman, in my opinion, is a french fry short of a happy meal! 

So ends Season 3 of Sister Wives. But I've got some predictions for Season 4!

1. Meri will say "Thanks, but no thanks" to Robyn's surrogate offer.

2. Season 4 will highlight the building of the KB-FU gated compound on the cul-de-sac.

3. One business venture will falter.

4. Kody will start courting wife #5.

5. Meri will apologize to Janelle and Christine for her less than sisterly wife comments she made about them.

I can't wait for it to begin in the Spring 2012!

REVIEW! S03Ep09 : College Bound Browns

Yay! Brown Family road trip - well, not quite a road trip, and not all the Browns are going. I better warn you up front. This episode was obviously scripted and was extremely annoying.  Having to endure the hand picked students and their less than challenging questions was annoying. Anytime Robyn opened her mouth was annoying. Better add Christine and Janelle to that list, too. And yet again, Warren Jeffs makes an appearance, and Robyn fake sobbing how much she hates him was...well...fake. And annoying. Jeffs should really demand to be placed on TLC's payroll.

But let's get to the review, shall we?

First scene of the episode, we see Kody's sports car parked in front of Janelle's house. As the

camera moves inside, we see Kody sitting, like a wild haired Jabba the Hut on his throne, calling

Meri. We know it's Meri because we can see her picture on the phone as Kody/Jabba touches it to

dial her. When she answers, Kody/Jabba says "Hey Lover, what ya doing?" What a jerk.

We find out that Kody, a very pregnant Robyn, his other wives and their four oldest teenage children

are packing to go to Boston. They will be the guest speakers for a panel discussion with a group of

academics and students that Rev. Danielle arranged. Hey, Rev Danielle not only looks like Sarah

Silverman, she sounds like her too. Oh yeah, and while they are there, the teens will also tour some

colleges, too.

Once again, Kody expresses concern that they will be compared to Warren Jeffs. Kody, we get it
that you and your Krew are different. Warren Jeffs had millions of dollars at his disposal, you have
finite resources. Warren Jeffs controlled thousands of followers, you can barely control your Krew.
But I do see a major similarity. Warren Jeffs ran from the law. And so did you. Must be a
fundamentalist thing.

Now Kody is picking up some clothes from Christine's house. Christine is trying too hard to be light
hearted and funny. Kody's not buying her enthusiasm and basically turns his back to her and walks
out of the room while she's showing him a dress. Nice, Kody.

Something is definitely up with Christine. Her demeanor is just too forced. And during the couch
interview, was she sporting a black eye? While role-playing questions with Aspyn, Christine said
"they are going to ask you if you want to live in a plural marriage and you're gonna say..." When
Aspyn replied "...Not right now!" Shocked, Christine asked "why not?"  Aspyn simply replied
"...because I don't want to."

OUCH! I mean I'm with Aspyn. We the audience already know this crap is scripted, but to show them rehearsing the script is a bit much. So thank you Aspyn!  If we only see a snippet of Christine's behavior, can you imagine having to live with her 24/7/365? No wonder Ysabel wanted to stay with Meri!


I really didn't need to see Kody/Peter Cottontail hippity hoppity his way from room to room
collecting card keys from his wives. Talk about controlling. Why would he need the card keys to their room?
 And I gagged when that damn Robyn said "He's our husband" and then Meri chirps right behind her
"he gets to have access". I'm thinking, have these women lost their minds? I know Kody has. When
he says "I live in all their houses, I'm going to live in all their hotel rooms" , all I can think is why do
these women put up with that fool?


I wonder if the teens had their own rooms or shared with their mothers. I'm betting they stayed with
their respective mother. And if Kody decided he wanted to have his way with a wife (he IS their
husband after all, and gets to have access, if you know what I mean) where would the teens go?
Now that's a hard one! To Robyn's room? I don't THINK so! It's so apparent Kody stayed with current
baby mama Robyn while in Boston. She WAS the only wife there without a teen, ya know.

 And before we leave this subject, what's the deal with needing to write the room number and first
letter of his wife's name on each card key? Even though Kody claims he used a "code" it was pretty
damn easy to figure out what the code was. What an idiot!  Kody drops the card key on the 8th floor. I pick up the card key and see the number 24. I wonder if it works on the door for room 824? Let's try it - well, what do you know!



LMAO!! Nice one Logan - totally dissed Christine when he said Rev Danielle was cute and bubbly
like Christine, only  really really smart. I mean, Logan, come on. That was kind of a mean thing to
say, true, but still mean.

Looks like we're back to Rev Danielle, as she collects the Browns at their hotel and takes them out to dinner. She brings along some of her "students". And wow, how they represent the typical college student! You would think Rev Danielle could have found a more diverse group, but we are dealing with the Browns. For all their "We are tolerant" blah blah blah, you only need to see  the "type" of people they surround themselves with in real life along with their obsessive need for only positive thoughts to understand that a gay guy, a girl with frizzy hair,  a girl with a Hispanic surname (she is now a close family friend according to my source Antoinette La Taupe), a girl who's a graduate student, and a "fellow" from Harvard with an intense stare is about as diverse as these people can take.

The teens partake of some icy creamy goodness with their new college friends.

Plimoth Plantation was interesting enough, but Christine getting upset when her Christianity was questioned was a bit overdone. It was almost as if she truly believed the woman she was trying to argue with was actually a real 17th century pilgrim. I'm telling you, there is something seriously wrong with Christine!

The lady on the right dared to question Christine's Christianity when Christine reminded her that Kody has four wives.

Future Sister Wife #5

The college tour was interesting. Who would've thunk it that Kody didn't go to college? And he said he
feels like a dope. Hey Kody, guess what? You ARE a dope.

But enough Kody bashing for now.

Surprisingly, Kody wants his children "to go into the world with  open minds and big goals and big

dreams."  He would be very happy if they chose to  attend a big school back east instead of a state college in Utah. Luckily for Kody, his children are more realistic, particularly Logan who apparently understands that it costs money to go to an elite school, and that his family simply doesn't have the means to pay.

You know, part of me feels this segment was a big plea for money from viewers to help send the Brown teens to college. No doubt some fan will be setting up a college fund soon.

But what was really interesting, was when Madison and Mariah both said they wanted to move back to Lehi and live in their old house while attending college. So apparently Kody is paying rent for 4 houses in

Vegas AND the mortgage for the Lehi house. Are these people crazy?

I thought this panel discussion would be held at one of the universities. You know, a place where
college students congregate.  But it was in a conference room at the Hynes Convention Center. And
it looked like the room was maybe at best 70-80% full. And why does Kody need to wear that gosh
awful brown blazer on interviews? It's sad when the Browns are dressed better in the picture on the

poster outside the conference room than they are in real life. Kody and the original 3 wives as well

as Mariah and Aspyn need a wardrobe makeover, NOW.

Poor Kody. He's afraid that the audience is going to be mean. That someone will say "You guys are liars", "Kody Brown you are a misogynist" "You are controlling these women".This scares poor Kody! Just look at his eyes!

Guess what? Kody you ARE a liar. What's the true story why you left Lehi?  If the law was after you, wouldn't they have extradited you by now? You haven't even been indicted yet!  And didn't your lawyer tell the news media that you and family left Utah for better job opportunities? So yeah, sounds like somebody's a liar to me.

You ARE a misogynist, Kody.  Anyone who would call his legal wife while in the home of his "second wife", and when the legal wife answers the phone say "Hey Lover, what ya doing?" you're not showing love and you have absolutely no respect for either women in your life. Grow up, you jerk.

You ARE controlling. Do you remember when Christine initially said she didn't want to leave Utah,
you asked her what part of "We are leaving Utah" did she not understand? Or, maybe you remember
on the road to Vegas when Christine told you the children in her car were hungry and wanted to eat and you refused to let the kids eat? I rest my case.


I hope the good questions were left on the cutting room floor because, damn, if that's the best
Harvard and Tufts students can do, something's wrong with those school's admission standards. 
Maybe those "sharks" Robyn was talking about ate the students with the good questions.  And Kody, if you seriously believe that moving to Vegas was the best choice out of the choices you had, you are truly the King of the Dopes.


So that was the end of the Browns trip to Boston. So long sycophantic reverend friend and your
hand picked students. So long Tufts and Harvard University. So long Boston -  the Browns have left
the state!

Sister Wives Kids not interested in Polygamy

                               

The teens on reality TV show Sister Wives aren’t allowed to date while they’re in high school. Their dad also discourages them from having premarital sex, in mellower terms than I’d have expected.

Bringing up the topic of premarital sex also raises the expectation that these kids will one day be getting married. Are they interested in the kind of polygamous marriage their parents have? Not so much. Only one of the four teens said she’d like to have sister wives when she grows up. The other two girls and one boy were not enthusiastic about the idea.
Some of the commenters on Jezebel snarked that of course the kids would want to avoid polygamy after watching their parents be depressed their whole lives. I don’t watch the show. Maybe the parents are depressed. But they always say they’re happy in press interviews (who wouldn’t?).

There are plenty of reasons for the kids not to embrace their parents’ lifestyle, even if it’s totally working for the adults. Reasons the kids gave when asked. Per Jezebel:

Aspyn and Mykelti seemed pretty sure they weren’t interested — Mykelti noted that while she loved growing up in a large family, she wouldn’t want one for herself; Aspyn said she wasn’t into the polygamous lifestyle because she didn’t want to deal with “jealousy.” Logan said he wasn’t sure, and wasn’t really thinking about it, but it seemed like that was a “no.”Imagine that! A teenage boy with the chance to marry — and, uh support — multiple women is less than enthused. Only Mariah said she would “definitely” be into plural marriage, and that she “couldn’t wait” to have sister wives.

It seems like the kids are operating from some pretty clear sense of self-knowledge. They do or don’t want a lot of kids. They do or don’t want the kind of complex dynamics that come from sharing your spouse with other partners. They’re figuring things out on their own, and they don’t feel like they have to follow in their parents’ footsteps. That all seems like a pretty normal, healthy approach for a group of teenagers to take.

"Sister Wives" - Let's talk about dating

I have 4 children, raised 2 foster children, and ½ raised a couple of others. We gave endless dating talks to teens that came to my home, etc.

My belief is that is a case by case thing.  All my kids were, by the time they were 14, hanging in groups to our house to watch a movie after a game, or coming over after church for some supper, etc. They all got the “lecture”, but I found the less of a big deal I made, the better off we were. Shockingly, the one I would of thought would NEVER date, likes a little girl at 11. 11! She would come to our house and hang out until her mom got off work. I was shocked, but, let it play out, and at nearly 16, he’s never asked again. If I had prevented this, he would have rebelled. I learned that from kid #1, or as we called her "Case study #1." Kody called Garrison “weird and sick” to like girls his age. Is that sending a message to him? What were your dating “rules”. At 16, it’s time to let them out at least until 11pm, I say. We’re ballgame folks, so that doesn’t leave much time. We were blessed to have a hangout home. I’ve got 6 here right now, (2 of mine are already married and long gone). What are your thoughts on dating- and are the brown’s going over board? 

Kody seems to thing it's courtship or nothing. When he asks Meri what she thinks, Robyn butts in for the second time. Curious, she talks but Christine, who has kids this age, doesn't get to.

When the Kids Travel Without You: How the Sister Wives Deal with Missing Their Teenagers

Here's the latest from TLC.

Meri is Kody Brown's first wife. They have been married since 1990 and have one daughter, Mariah. Their lives in a plural family are featured in TLC's popular program Sister Wives.

It is now July, we have been in Vegas for six months, and guess what I've been doing all weekend? Unpacking and organizing! Yes, I'm still working on it. Does this mean I'm lazy, extremely busy, or amazingly thorough? Hmmm...

I actually just got the last of my stuff from Utah just two weeks ago. You could say that it's been a long drawn out move. I think it's been driving Kody crazy how long it is taking me to unpack. I have an excuse -- when we moved, I just packed up everything, not knowing what I would actually need in my new house. So now that I'm here, I am going through everything and deciding if I really need it, want it, or have room for it. I have a big pile growing out in my garage for the yard sale my daughter Mariah and I will be having at the end of the summer.

Oh, Mariah, I miss her!! She is spending time away this summer with friends and relatives. She texted me this morning asking me when I'll be coming to see her. I texted back asking why, does she miss me already? She said "Yeah". It's so nice to know she still needs her mom. She will be sweet sixteen in a couple weeks, I can't believe how the time has flown. I'm not ready for her to grow up yet, and I'm not ready to soon be an empty nester. Love you, Punk! - Meri

Fundamentalist Mormon Beliefs- Explained For Us - "Sister Wives"

A comment was added that was so eloquently put that I felt it was a MUST READ for anyone trying to decipher the Brown religion. This is what they believe, and teach their children. It's a must read, please do so. For many of us, it is also a very scary look into what the children are taught. It is not biased, it's a non partial straightforward viewpoint, so you can decide for yourselves without prejudiced what you feel about their belief system.
I knew nothing of this when I started writing this blog, I simply enjoyed the show. And I want this blog to stay impartial to a point- I'd love to hear from the Browns. You can like someone besides their belief system- however, how this affects the kids is mind boggling to me. How does it make you feel to read this?

The Browns are former members of the AUB polygamy group, a sect of fundamentalist Mormons. Christine Brown has stated that they are independent Mormon fundamentalists at this time in a You Tube video. This means that they believe in the Mormon fundamentalism, but they do not recognize the spiritual leader or prophet of any one polygamy group (such as Lamoine Jensen, the high priest and prophet of the AUB) as their spiritual leader. Kody would therefore be considered their "prophet" or spiritual leader or "priesthood holder" for his family of independent polygamists. This is the equivalent of someone being an evangelical Christian, but not belonging to a particular denomination, and holding home prayer meetings / worship services in lieu of church attendance.
In Mormon fundamentalism, the husband of a family seeks to become a polygamist with a minimum of three wives. When three wives are obtained, a man obtains the rank of High Priest Apostle. He will become a god in the afterlife, ruling over his own planet, which will be populated by his wives and children, and his wives will be perpetually pregnant in the afterlife, bringing more souls into existence to populate their husband - god's planet. In Mormon fundamentalism, a woman is not worthy to "go beyond the veil" in the afterlife and enter the presence of God. She may only enter the afterlife if her husband calls her by a secret name assigned to her at the time of her "endowment ceremony" - only when her husband calls her beyond the veil may she enter the presence of God. If a woman does not live in polygamy she may be forever damned (See Mormon Scriptural Document Doctrines and Covenants Section 132) Mormon fundamentalist women usually wear long hair because they believe that a woman will wash their husband's feet and dry them with her hair, just as Mary Magdalene did for Jesus. Mormon fundamentalists teach that Jesus was a polygamist, having multiple wives, among them Mary Magdalene, Mary, and Martha. Mormon fundamentalists are taught that they should continue to have as many children as they possibly can, to fulfill the imperative to bring holy souls out of pre-existence into life, thus activities other than child bearing and child rearing are discouraged for fundamentalist Mormon women. No matter what they say, Mormon fundamentalist women are permitted, yet discouraged from attending college. If they do enter a profession, it is usually something traditionally female, such as nursing, midwifery, or teaching. How are you dealing with the dating issues now that some of the kids are getting to that age? - Patti S.

CHRISTINE: My dad gave me the best idea and I actually have not talked to my family about it yet. They can only go on one date per person until after college. Keeps them focused on their education and keeping up their communication with their family, because I am sure several arguments will follow from the teenagers about this concept.

MERI: On dealing with dating, so far it’s not something I've really had to deal with. MARIAH will be 16 in July (wow!) but that just doesn't seem to be something that interests her right now. Honestly, MARIAH is the type to spend time "hanging out" with all her friends, boys & girls, rather than spend one-on-one time with just one of them. I'm sure that will change, however, when someone special catches her eye.

JANELLE: It amazes me that I am old enough to have kids to be dating. LOGAN thankfully has several just really good friends and he keeps himself busy with his school work. But they have begun to go out a little. It is amazing the perspective difference between being the teen and being the parent. All the things I thought were perfectly fine and even desirable as a teen - make me as a parent nervous. I really push group dating and keeping in mind long term life goals with my teens to hopefully help them keep a perspective. I talk frankly and openly with my teens about choice and consequence in relationship issues, often to the point that they roll their eyes at me!

ROBYN: For me the dating issue is just a place where I can influence. I get the kids to talk to me about who they like and how their dates are going. Not all of them are dating though. I give suggestions and give feedback. I stress a lot the importance of waiting until you are older to get serious, going to college and always keeping the bar high. I personally feel like our kids are awesome and they deserve to be in relationships with equally awesome people. It takes a lot of involvement. KODY is big on meeting all the kids friends and if possible their parents.

How do you see your family in the future - is Las Vegas a permanent move? - Dawn K.

 

CHRISTINE: I love it here, and my older children, ASPYN, MYKELTI, and PAEDON have all commented that they love living in Vegas and would really struggle if we decided to move back. They enjoy school, as well as can be expected. The elementary school the children attend have very high goals for their students and consequently pushed my children to excel.

MERI: Let's put it this way, I thought our move from Wyoming to Utah 5 years ago was permanent. There's just no telling what's in store for us down the road. In the meantime, however, I plan on living like its permanent, and I'm really enjoying it!


JANELLE: We are really working hard to establish our home in Las Vegas. Any time you move a family as large as ours it is an epic journey. We are really enjoying it here. The people have been so friendly, the weather is beautiful and our kids love the schools. I believe many of the older children have plans to return to Utah in the next few years to pursue their college educations.


ROBYN: Las Vegas better be permanent! I want to settle, put down some roots and make a nest for our family especially now that I am pregnant.

Why did you choose Las Vegas? - Many Viewers

 

CHRISTINE: Because of the variety of backgrounds that exist in that area it seems like the culture would be very understanding or out diverse, large, loud family. I also hate being cold, I am cold for a constant 3 months and was ready for warmth. We discussed options of many other places, but in the end Vegas won. It has always been a vacation spot we have loved for our family and since we chose to move we really wanted somewhere that could be positive to our children.

MERI: The question is, why not Vegas! Ok, I have to admit, when KODY first brought up Las Vegas as an option, I thought he was out of his mind. It made no sense to me at all. Sometimes I still wonder why. But being a somewhat spiritual person, I have to just go back to the fact that someone bigger than me has had His hand in my life choices.

JANELLE: When we started thinking about the move we looked around for a close location that made sense. Vegas is only about 6 hours away from our friends and family in Utah. Also, it is easily accessible to those wishing to travel to see us. It is a big city, and even though it has been hurt in the economic downturn there is still a great deal going on here. We ultimately were looking for a relaxed place with an accepting attitude to build a life for ourselves.

ROBYN: Las Vegas is actually close to some of my family. I have been getting to see them pretty regularly. Las Vegas is also a great place for people to visit so we figured we would see friends and family more.

How are the kids adjusting to their new life in Las Vegas?

 

CHRISTINE: My children are adjusting very well. ASPYN has more friends here, MUKELTI’S best friend is in Utah but she is getting friends here too. PAEDON is confident in his school, GWENDYLN has realized that by pushing herself to excel she can accomplish many things and YSABEL just wishes she could go over to MERI’S whenever she wants.

MERI: The kids seem to be adjusting very well over all. Obviously, some better than others. As much as MARIAH didn't want to make the move to Las Vegas, she did it with a very decent attitude. She made a conscious decision that since she had to be anyway with the family, she was going to make the best of it and enjoy her time here. Although she still will go back to Utah any chance she gets to visit family & friends, she is making friends in Vegas and getting involved with school program and sports, and desperately wants to get a job.

JANELLE: Our youngest ones adjusted to the change very quickly. Our teens took a little while longer. Even then, there is a split in opinion. A few have really embraced life here and are very happy. To the point that they have no desire to return to Utah. Some of the other teens have an attitude of "we are here, might as well make the best of it, until we can move back for college." All and all we are still very close as a family and still spend a great deal of time just hanging out all together.


ROBYN: I think the younger kids have adjusted a lot better than some of the older kids, but that is to be expected. It is hard for teens to start over in a new school with a new life.

How did you decide which wife would get which house? 

 

CHRISTINE: We were all looking for different things, I really wanted 5 bedrooms, a close location to the other wives, a home in the school perimeter, affordability and comfort. And, that’s what I got. I feel very blessed and love my home. My older three children all have their own rooms and my younger 3 share the biggest room in the house. Great!


MERI: The way we decided which wife got which house was just each one of us choosing what we loved. Because of circumstances, it was important that ROBYN find a home first, so we looked for one she loved. After that, as we looked at the homes, we were able to choose the home that best fit each of our personalities and wants for a home.
JANELLE: We all chose our own houses!

ROBYN: My kids and I have moved 4 times in the last 2 years. I was very concerned when we decided to move. I struggled a lot because of the strain of never feeling settled and the stress of yet another move on my three kids specifically. Everyone was really great and agreed that because of this my kids and I would get the first house. After that it was just who liked what and who fit where.

Have the Browns ever met any of the other TLC families? 

 

CHRISTINE: We haven’t, however I watch TLC’s What Not To Wear. I try to follow Clinton And Stacy’s advice


MERI: No, as of yet we have not had the opportunity to meet other TLC families. I think it would be awesome to be able to, though! MARIAH loves the Duggars and I know she would love to meet them. Wouldn't it be fun to get a good game of kick ball going between the Brown's and the Duggar's! 

JANELLE: We have not had that pleasure as of yet.


ROBYN: We haven't met any of the other families on TLC. I think it would be fun someday.

 I am not a Twitter fanatic. In fact, it annoys me to only see part of a conversation at times. HOWEVER, I know a lot of people love it, and I thought you'd like to get a feels of what our favorite Sister Wives family was doing on there. Here’s my lowdown on the Brown family tweets and what I think about them! Hopefully soon I will have an up and running the newest tweets on this site to the right.

MADISON, ASPYN, and MARIAH have the usual teen stuff- although I was surprised Aspyn was tweeting from school “4 hrs left!”. My kids can’t even turn on their phones at school. But you can tell they are very careful about what they say- most 15 yrs old aren’t tweeting how much they love their family, more like they love Lady Gaga.

 Even GARRISON has one post  - he sums it up best! Hee hee, MARIAH has 5 

                          

ASPYN seems like your average teen, loving Glee, and it appears Mom has been on vacation. Here’s one of her philosophical ones.

MADISON - MADDIE - (one of my favs)

 You can tell she's still stuggling with the move, going to visit Utah, and has mixed feelings. I just love her and am waiting for her to Bust OUTTA There! 

The kids all have between 340-360 followers – really no more than most HS kids. They remind us how they have an amazing life and love their family. (Ho-Hum). Moving on….

 JANELLE! How glad we were to see you on Twitter. She’s new to the game, but YEAH!! JANELLE seems to be trying not to give out anything before it airs - although she seems real, asking for recipes and saying she is doing better, even praying for a fan that almost lost their child. She’s only done 40 tweets and has 1202 followers! I will be more interested in hers than any of the others. Here’s a cute on from her:

 CHRISTINE is also new to the tweet world; you know she wasn’t going to let Ro-BUN (ROBYN) do it alone!! Interestingly, her nickname is “rose colored glasses”– an idiom for “Seeing things with an attitude that things are better than they really are.” Hmm ..Is she trying to clue us in? She’s done a big 16 tweets and has 1, 136 followers. Of course, her tweets are a bit daffy-a reminder of the toaster incident. She’s kinda the Polygamist Lucy Ball. She clues us that she’s been away to Disneyworld with an adult only…Wonder who she went with, Logan? Surely she doesn’t mean Kody! Of course, she gives us this helpful hint:

 AND then we finish with ROBYN. UGH. Love her smaller picture? She doesn't rate equal size with me! She annoys me even more. I try to like her, I can’t.She’s been on since Jan 4^th, and has sent out 636 tweets! I haven’t had 636 interesting things to say in my whole life. She has 1576 followers so you know what that means - friends, go over on Twitter and follow all the others but her wether you read them or not (they’ll be on here) but it will boost our other girls.

ROBYN (RO-BUN) as in "bun in the oven" heehee. She seems to think she needs to talk about EVERYTHING. She is such a witch.  She, back in Jan was reporting on them moving, no secrets here…except, of course, questions about religion. I find it strange that they are secretive about their religion.  I would never deny my god or church. She does let us in on more things, of course, being a blabbermouth. According to Robyn, they are planning on building a new home, Christine’s wallet got stolen, her and Meri have been furniture shopping, haircuts, movies, etc., Kody loves Ed Hardy perfume (!);  She LOVES to shop and seems to be getting goodies from some, happy to tell you what she likes. She’s having a home birth on the show; beween shopping she is always sick. Baby baby baby. Really exciting, aren’t you glad I’m sifting through it for you? Here’s some of Robyn’s to see for yourself. Of course, the ones that irked me or I loved, depending on if she got snarked. From Robyn’s posts you can certainly see they are spending money like crazy – not worried about it at all. Trips to Disneyland, Tickets to see Brett Michaels and the Blue Men Group, with all that shopping adds up to people not worried about money.
