Review "Sister Wives" "Tell All" s04e11

Tamron Hall pledged viewers hard hitting questions and a behind the scenes look at the Browns. Hard hitting? More like nerf ball and pillow fights. Made the behind the scene posts at SWB look smokin' hot! First question up was about getting the McMansions. Promptly for me the volume drifted down and I got fixated on things like the fact Meri has had her tooth fixed or how many baby doll ruffle tops do they own all together. You know the hard hitting stuff. Meri, Tamron's fav, jump started next season's storyline by saying jealousy could be the problem in paradise. She also informs us that Mariah is going out of state for college. Guess that big issue wasn't really an issue after all since this was obviously taped long ago.

The group is still chewing the cud
of covetousness when BAM! Out of nowhere, Robyn gives me a little gem. Make this gem#3. I bet in 6 months we never never see this happen again. Bored with her cud chewing, she decides NOW would be a good time to get that green goo out of her eyes. Yes! We live for this! This wasn't so boring after all! She's a picking that green goo out of her eye, rollin' it

around in her fingers as she looks intently on her new find, then the best part..FLICKS it away. Why it was sheer genius of a good 4 seconds! I sure hope it didn't land on Kody. No wonder he didn't comfort her when she was trying to muster up those fakey tears over her loss of purr-ity for the umpteenth time! He didn't want that slimey stuff on his new jeans!
Give it UP Robyn, so you got some before you got married the first time. I can think of worse things you have done, oh like interrupt Kollene and make it about you.

She really is a scene stealer. When the talk turns to the UNLV panel discussion, she makes this brilliant declaration about those anti-polygamists. "They're not there to find answers, they are there to say you are wrong and your family needs to break apart." No, sweetie, they were there to inform the public of their stories. Not validate you or Janelle or invalidate you. Do these folks know what a panel discussion is? Even my kids were asking the same question.

How unfair it was that in the first few seconds of the show they flash a scene of a crowd/you hear "from the public criticism"/flash to Kollene saying SW hate each other/flash to Robyn's shocked face. Shame on them for using an abused young adult to rile up shock value.

The Brown teens looked great. They are some more shining examples of our future. Smart, classy, and very articulate. Shame they seem to be brought out for the sole purpose of having their parents' back on the issues.

We have watched them grow. Spunky little Maddie was the quiet one this session. When asked if she was going into polygamy, Aspyn discussed studying her parents religion to decide what she believed, which was a wonderful moment of Fundamental Mormon clarity. So, for the young adults, a little childhood reminder: "You’re off to great places, today is your day!" "You're mountain is waiting, so get on your way!" - Dr. Seuss

I've mellowed a tad toward Meri upon hearing her praise from Kollene. She seemed to be the go-to lady for our interviewer, and did a fairly good job. Meri wins the best makeup and hair award from SWB. Baby issue? No I'm not going there. Not feeling like beating a dead horse today. What's the holdup? Everett McGill said it best. 'Cause you know,"It's a fool that looks for logic in the chambers of a human heart."

Janelle looked great. But she is reminding me more and more of a robotic mentality. Validate..Invalidate..Monogamy ..Polygamy..I wouldn't be surprised if she started moving like the robot from "Lost in Space" shouting "Danger Will Robertson!" Janelle always appears very nice. I think she's in love with the man and somehow has a way of compartmentalizing the crazy that goes with living in "the lifestyle." We thinks she looks great and enjoy watching her weight loss transformation. For that, we tip our hat to Janelle.

Christine drank the grape kool-aid long ago and it's showing, sweetheart. Curiosity is a sign of intelligence, but to Christine that seems to make Mykelti a wild child. Do you think the voices she hears inside her head are fearing there's something out there, out there that just might be normal and fulfilling?
Christine is still hopped up at Aunt Kristyn during the "Tell All." Real reason you ask? Well, the Browns are living illegally. They want polygamy decriminalized. Kristyn wants to stop polygamy from becoming legal. But you won't hear the Browns say the facts. They simply are on opposite sides. This is not a personal attack. Not on Kristyn Decker's side, anyway.

Kody. What do I have to say about Kody? I'll just let him speak for himself.

Twisted Sister saw Kody in a different light.

  2. Im so sick of Kodouche, Sobbin and Christine. I can tolerate Meri even though she's a selfish witch but at least she shows flickers of intelligence. Janelle just bums me out because she seems fairly smart compared to the trio or stupidity, but it seems she is happy sharing her cookie with Kodouche.
As much as I enjoy watching this trainwreck I hope it gets cancelled soon so these idiots lose their houses, they don't deserve any of the perks they have.

    1. I guess I never got the Janelle is smart vibe. The only thing to her credit is that she had a job for a while. But she was content to let someone else do the heavy lifting with her children. I just can't with a woman who brags on not liking to take care of her own kids.

Christine was the stay at home mom to Janelle's kids. So I have to send Christine some credit for making 12 out of the 17 kids somewhat ok.

Just my opinion, not arguing with you. :-)

    2. I guess it is less that Janelle is smart as in "she could have been a rocket scientist, if she had not taken up with the Brown bunch" than that she displays more common sense than the rest a lot of the times. She wanted the smaller house knowing her children were leaving the nest. She has less illusions about their businesses and how likely they are to make them rich. She just seems like an averagely smart housewife/office worker who would get along the best out of all 5 if she was on her own.

    3. She knows deep down that MSWC is not going to be as successful as delusional Robyn thinks it will be. I see Janelle as the one Kody would have lived a normal typical LDS life with. She and Kody both grew up the same way, LDS. He was too chicken to break up with Merri and just be with Janelle, then he brought in Christine to make peace. Robyn is his mid life sexy time partner. Polygamy is just their excuse to justify all of this. If Janelle is so smart then why is she still there? One of these broads will bail, maybe Merri since she is an empty nester, eventually it will happen only a matter of time...

  3. Sure wasn't much to review. That tell all show was so filled with old clips that we've all seen. I vote for a tougher interviewer next time!

    1. Here, here, Funky Town......I second that motion !!
Her style and script were beyond boring. (
And did she *really* cry at Sobbin's Purr-ity speech ??

      TLC, shame, shame.!!
You owed the viewers at least a real interview instead of warmed up leftovers.

    2. She's so different on the Crime show she started recently. I realize the show is far different than Sister Wives, but the truth is the truth. No matter whether you are asking the Browns or a murderer for the truth you should still want the truth.

I truly wonder if they didn't get the questions in advance or maybe they gave a list of approved subjects.

      Delete
    3. "...wonder if they didn't get the questions in advance or maybe they gave a list of approved subjects."

Either/Or.....it was obvious that the Browns were in anticipation mode. Meri especially seemed "prepared" to expound in her bit. Even her hesitant answer about "there is more" seemed prepared. Sobbin was all revved up too, right from the getgo.
But nothing new for Kody. He always acts like he's high when he gets facetime.

Thinking about it, they had to be prepared in advance.
How else would the clips setting up each question have been ready to roll for them to watch

    4. As long as TLC is putting on the show you will never ever getting any more than this. They are not going to portray there stars in a bad light with hard issues. They will absolutely not but religion in the questions because the general public doesn't care about the entire background of the religion, but that they do it for religious reasons.

  4. OK... I will go part by part...

Part 1) In UT, as long as you have an in-state address or ID you get in state tuition... I do not think Mariah ever changed hers to NV so, that makes it a bit less expensive... Plus, it is NEVER talked about her housing on the show... she has a LOT of family to stay with so that takes that out of the $$ pool...

Just a thought from a mom with a child going to school out of state...

    2. I heartily agree, Cara, that they may look back with regret.

They have always nearly CONVULSED trying to distance themselves from the likes of Warren Jeffs and they beat their breasts to prove how disgusting they find that brand of polygamy. Okay, point taken.

Why then, does it not follow that they would ALIGN THEMSELVES with former polygamists like Kollene and Kristyn? If they did, they would lend so much more credence to their claims of "We're polygamists, but really we are just like you!" By acting defensive and offensive toward the others on the UNLV panel, the Browns lay waste to the fantasy of their public image.

      Delete
    3. *They *gasp* had formed their own opinions!

    4. Great question @redwood curtain... my only thought after talking to those that have eacaped and those that have interacted with the Browns just dont like them... Kollene, Willy, and the others that have gone to "visit" them just find (mainly Kody) just as bad as the environment they cam from... the fact is, as long as the Browns have the attitude as shown on the panel episode no help group will touch them... Holding out H.E.L.P. just had the annual run fund raiser that the "Sisterwives" took part in a couple years back... they were not asked back... I think HOH needs the pub to help the org but even they will not allow the antics of the Browns in order to get it...

so, long story... hahahaha... we dont want their (Brown) "help" .... does that answer your question?

    5. Lol - I think Robyn feels that they are the one and only original trademarked Sister Wives. Like they're the Beatles of polygamy or something.
I'm still laughing about the Kody Kaption...huckle huckle...omg!

  7. Very Cute! From the Robyn pick gate to the funny add ons. "Danger Will Robinson" will be in my head now, Thanks! I also saw the little cut of Kollene at the beginning of the episode. You are very thoughtful to put a cool picture of her up instead of displaying that sad one. I bet this will make her very proud. She should be. One brave girl. I agree. Shame on the Browns, Shame on TLC. You brought a smile to my face and the snark back to the blog! .

  8. 4) The kids... the fact of the matter is as long as they chose to live polygamy they will see their parents in the Celestial Kingdom... mainly for the girls... if the boys decided to go on an LDS mission.. then marry and live monogamy then that is OK... because in the AUB it is the choice of the man on how he wants to lead his family into the there after... SO, the kids are confused, frustrated, they have no direction and to put them in front of a camera and ask them harder questions than Tameron did the parents is shameful. I am sure even these children understand a panel and a discussion better than their parents.

    1. Cara, I wonder if you and Ed have asked yourselves this question about the planets and the Celestial Kingdom. If there have been hundreds or thousands die already in this religion, where are all the planets? I just can't get my head around it as the daughters would go with their husbands and the husbands would get their own planet so it would just leave the couple alone on their planet

Here is a definition as offered by Orson Pratt, a Member of the Quorum of the 12 in the late 1860s:

Orson Pratt (Quorum of the Twelve)

A Saint who is one in deed and in truth, does not look for an immaterial heaven, but he expects a heaven with lands, houses, cities, vegetation, rivers, and animals; with thrones, temples, palaces, kings, princes, priests, and angels; with food, raiment, musical instruments, etc., all of which are material. Indeed, the Saints' heaven is a redeemed, glorified, celestial, material creation, inhabited by glorified material beings, male and female, organized into families, embracing all the relationships of husbands and wives, parents and children, where sorrow, crying, pain, and death will be known no more. Or to speak still more definitely, this earth, when glorified, is the Saints' eternal heaven. On it they expect to live, with body, parts, and holy passions; on it they expect to move and have their being; to eat, drink, converse, worship, sing, play on musical instruments, engaged in joyful, innocent, social amusements, visit neighboring towns and neighboring worlds. (Millennial Star, November 17, 1866, 28:721-22)

    3. Pity Party Closet 8:13
      And this:

The location of the Celestial Kingdom will be here on earth after the earth is changed. Its final destiny is to become glorified and exalted (Doctrine and Covenants 77: 1-2; 130: 8-9). The earth will become an eternal inheritance of those who have lived worthy of a celestial glory (Doctrine and Covenants 88: 14-26). They will enjoy the presence of the Father and the Son (Doctrine and Covenants 76: 62).

    4. There are a lot of us who imagine a god that stands for the weak, the poor, the disadvantaged and oppressed. Blessed are the meek, they will inherit the earth, at least metaphorically.

For our experts on Mormon polygamy, is it fair to say that in the religion of these sects god rewards the strong in heaven, men with most wives, women with most children? Is this even a partially fair assessment?

      Delete
    5. No Cara, in AUB both men and women are required to live polygamy - it's not the mans choice how he lives. If he stays a monogamist they're going nowhere - which is why Sobbin was anxious to dump her ex and find a "worthy" guy like Kody who could "exalt" her.

      Delete
    6. Anon 9:09 You are right - the more women and children a guy acquires here on earth, the greater his glory in the hereafter. They become members of his "kingdom" to rule and reign over.

Sort of a guidebook to the beliefs of the AUB. Should be a good post!

    10. They also say they will be family for eternity but the sons will go be head of their own kingdom and the daughters will join their spouses kingdom so in the end it will be just husband and wife. This is the belief of AUB, FLDS and mainstream Mormons

    11. I am glad that you said that @ex AUB ... the Dargers (as with the Browns) seem to think that they can do as they choose with the religion... they are the ones I got the info from (via twitter page) ... reminds me of the Jeffs family... you take a basic religion and turn it into what ever you want... CREEPY!!!

    13. I thought it was some sort of multilevel afterlife, where some of them have All Inclusive-bracelets and some do not. As in all of them can go to some sort of heaven, if they are keeping to their rules, but you need to live in a polygamous marriage with at least three wives to be eligible for godhood.

      Delete
    14. I thought All Inclusive bracelets was a very witty comment.

  9. Cleverly written with great insight! I agree that Janelle seems a bit Vulcan-like in her behavior. That probably helps her manage her feelings. Better reserved feelings on film than the histrionics of some of the other gals. Who knows what she might let out in private?
I love the NV opportunity for those kids, kind of "out of the hornet's nest" to a "land of opportunity". I wish them all the best of everything always. The comment about curiosity and Christine was right on the mark. Thinking about choices she was never allowed makes her feel unsafe. Poor Christine, I wish that she could experience a loving monogamous relationship; I think she deserve it (as do Meri and Janelle).

I adore my husband--we are both physically demonstrative and not afraid of a certain amount of PDA, but there are limits, and if we were on national tv? Wouldn't happen. I follow her on Pinterest and find her pins to be VERY interesting. Like, she's doing that whole childish passive aggressive pin a bunch of stuff that pertains to people who don't agree with her thing. Dumb. Also, I don't think Karma fits in very well with their religion. She's so self-righteous with her puuurity talks, but posts pins with cuss words

WOW - what a shocker that you'd be all over this than what any of your religious scriptures dictate you to do. sounds typically smugly arrogant and hypocritical but then again - i'm just one of your gentile heathens so what do i know?

They make her feet look giant and she sits with her feet turned inward, does she realize how bad she looks? It is in every scene too, she must have a whole collection of unattractive foot wear. They are just so ugly! They always show their big feet too, and Kody's nasty bare feet and his flip flops. This is something that has bugged me the whole time they've been on. 19. It has been said that the Brown's church did not want then to do the show. I wonder how much of that was because of the Browns themselves and the fear of how badly they would represent polygamy, the church etc. Or was that they didn't want anyone doing a show? If it was the Dargers or someone else more polished and less of a loose cannon would we have a more real view of polygamy? Is that what TLC is trying to give us with this new family and maybe replace the Browns with them?

    1. I believe it was on Ed's review of the show last week, but I'll throw my 2 cents in.
I have heard from sources many things.
First and foremost, it is illegal. The state of Utah pretty well, with the exception of abuse and under-age brides, and stated they will not prosecute.
I have heard that Lemoine Jenson, the leader of the AUB did not want to have his "lamb" led out to slaughter.
I've heard that they simply didn't want any waters stirred up.
      Both from reputable sources.

      Ed has heard different.

I doubt if you'd get the full truth. That's the issue I have, I could respect them so much more if they at least stood behind what they were saying.
I don't know if we would have a clearer view.
We now have PolygamyUSA. At leastCreepy Cawley tells it like it is. Remember the harlot in the street comment? Many say they have an agenda. They did hide their names. I don't see any of those folks running to Nevada.
There will be at least 2 more shows coming up. More on that later!

    2. As Mister Sister has expressed we will never know all of the truth until those like Kollene, Willy, Kristyn and Christine are actually listened to. Even the Katie Couric show that Flora and Ruby were on was WAY too short, not enough info, not enough time... BUT the Browns get 1-2 hours each and every week... here, this place, this amazing place, we can discuss, we can dissect what we have seen and what it means to each and every one of us... will we ever get truth from Kodies?? Sobbin?? NO... but we can have hella fun trying :) And lets face it... would this page be as fun if it was just facts??? NAH... keep snarky :)

    3. Question for AUB authorities... How would Kody know if/when he could take a 5th wife. Who reveals that to him? A prophet of the AUB? Some kind of signal from his god? His gut feeling?

Can he pull another wife out of his Kody or does he have to shop from an approved AUB list of potential women? Is there match making involved?

Just curious because when Sobbyn closes her womb for business one day.... Also has the blog ever thought of a guessing game for how many more Kodspawn she will pop out? I think she actually might like to go for 7 if it would mean topping Christine and Janelle.

      Delete
    4. The Mormons and Mormons Fundies have this weird belief in "a revelation" as in someone can get a message from their god that applies to them. A prophet or a regular person. Kody didn't get the revelation he was to marry Janelle, Janelle says she did. And since she said it was from their god, he is supposed to listen.

If you ever have a chance read "Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith" by Jon Krakauer. Fascinating book that outlines the Mormon doctrine of revelations and those folks still believing they are still getting messages from their god via other people, even to the extend of killing people as a blood atonement. http://www.amazon.com/Under-Banner-Heaven-Story-Violent/dp/1400032806

Being raised from children to believe that someone else is bringing them messages from their god is one of the main reasons they get so brainwashed. And that's another way they get so far off track from anything resembling a wholesome & comforting religious faith. That's also they way people like Warren Jeffs abuse whole families and communities. Because they are taught to believe that the prophet is the mouthpiece of their god. No matter how illogical the pronouncement is, like the hellish fallacy that women can only go to Heaven by their vagina's, they are conditioned to believe those lies and hate attacks on women.

But if they would read the Bible instead of that murdering Joseph Smith they would see that the Bible says the first test of a prophet was that all his prophecies must come to pass or he should be slain. (Old Testament.) It was very serious business to speak for God Jehovah.

And in the New Testament, God completely rescinds the voice of the prophet and now speaks to us through his Son, Jesus Christ.

      Hebrews 1:1
      King James Version (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets

      2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

    5. Thanks for your post, Polygamy is Imprisonment.

Whenever I hear their "philosophy" that women can only get to Heaven if called by a human male, here's the verse that pops into my head:

"Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father EXCEPT THROUGH ME." (John 14:6 - emphasis added)

I've learned throughout my life that any "religion" that professes to be based on the Bible, but that has to have a book that supplements the Bible is one from which people should RUN.

FYI Mister Sister - Time to reign in some of the religious posts? I don't know, as a Jew (and I know there are more of us on here than just me) the Christian biblical quoting is a bit over the top. I don't mind sticking to talking about the quirks of the AUB but somebody on here in an earlier post was talking about the "true god" and now this person has posted a big long bible passage. I imagine you have readers of all sorts of religious (and non-religious) persuasions. Just a thought.

According to Kody in the family's book., he felt a "stirring" and Robyn described it as a "buzz." I could call it something else, but that would be "too vulgar." It's pretty easy for people who want something, to convince themselves they have had a "revelation" from God. All they need then is to get the go ahead from AUB leaders. Incidentally, it's amazing how young and pretty girls have multiple men claiming "revelations" that they belong to them - happened to my own daughter!

    10. I really appreciated AZ's post. I didn't find it "religious" so much as disproving Grody Kody's ridiculous excuse for his lifestyle. I would love to hear him try to reconcile his funky junk religious excuses in light of the actual Bible he is supposed to follow. Honestly, the whole basis of their show is supposed to be religious freedom (hey, I said SUPPOSED) so we can't really discuss the Klown's without discussing religion.

It's such a serious subject, as evidenced by Kollene, Willie, and Krystin, but the snark on here is fun, too! I think reading this blog has made me a snark-a-holic!

My Sister Wife's Closet site is currently featuring a bracelet with charms reading "Love", "Loyalty", "Friendship". Maybe they feel those emotions towards Kodouche, but they certainly admitted this week they feel none of that towards each other.

You are a very brave woman. You've accomplished much since leaving and should be very proud of yourself. I'm so sorry that your family hasn't had the unconditional love for you that families should have.

I'm not sure what your belief system is at this point, and I'd understand if you were too confused to even think of God at this point, but be assured that the true God is nothing like what you grew up with, nor like what the Browns believe. He loves you! I'm praying for you.

    1. Irresponsible parents like the Browns are one reason for the Obamacare mandates.

    2. I hope someone will take pity on the foreigners and write an article on what Obamacare means for the Brown family. Someone posted they could be fined, but it doesn't mean anything to me.

Surely they all have health insurance NOW... don't they??! =8-|

      Delete
    3. From my understanding, because of the # of kids alone, obamacare will mean that they get steeply discounted insurance. The last I heard, if your health insurance premiums are more than 10% of your income you will not be fined for not having them.

My home state has a simulator so that you can figure out estimated expenses. We don't know how much their income is, but lets image it two ways...a single mom with 6 kids (Christine) making 20k per episode at 11 episodes last year...That puts her income at 220,000 for the year. (we're imagining.)

According to my state calculator her FAMILY medical premiums will be $731 per month.

If we figured the WHOLE family...or say, Kody and Meri as parents to all the kids you would have 2 adults at $440,000 a year with 14 kids (I count King Sol but not Robyn's kids since we are pretending that Kody and Meri parent all of Kody's offspring)

With this scenario, Kody would only have to pay $1086 a month to insure ALL of his kids.

Then, Robin would have to pay $724 a month for her three older kids and Christine and Janelle would have to pay $284 each for their individual plans...

So...you can have three single moms paying $731 (total $2193) plus Kody and Meri at $793 for a grand total of $2986 a month to insure the whole family,

Or you can have Kody take responsibility for all of his bio kids, insuring himself, Meri adn 14 kids for $1086 plus the two "single" woman at $284 each ($586) and Robyn and her first three kids for $724...making the whole family total: $2378

So. to sum up: He can continue to not claim his kids and the whole family can pay $2986 a month in medical expenses or he can be a MAN claim them and the whole family can pay $2378 a month.

Because the total is so stinking much less that my estimate of 20k per episode per adult, they would suffer a fine if they refused to buy insurance, but last I heard the fine was only $2000 a year, so obviously that's much cheaper than them buying insurance through the affordable care act and the most likely thing they will do.

I simply had no idea of the extent of the damage done by polygamy and the odious abuse of power. I have a lot more to learn! This blog, the books, and the informative news stories like Dateline have helped educate me.

I'm intrigued by Mister Sister's mention of 2 more shows. We've already heard about the Williams' show being picked up, but I'm wondering what the other might be?

I hope for a documentary, or even better, a fully fleshed-out series about what happens to those who leave polygamy behind. I have heard that it is easy for emotionally-battered individuals who have fled from their compounds to fall prey to other manipulative, evil characters on the outside. This is why I want to support the organizations who are helping out by providing shelter, food, clothing, emotional support, and education to the escapees. (I've got to try to find a better word than "escapees", but in my view, they are escaping emotional/mental/physical prisons.)

I come to this blog every day to learn, and I do. I also come here to laugh, and I always do that, too!

In my opinion, Christine is totally within her right to be upset, and she should be able to let Kody know it, without having to always feel like she has to apologize. Again, in my opinion, her's really was the ugliest of all 4, and I never understood the etched side, which makes even less sense with his explanation that it represented the dark side of the moon. To me, it looks like cheap stuck on pewter lattice work. I am sure, that after seeing Meri's and Janelle's pieces (I like Janelle's the best), that Christine was expecting something as beautiful as their's, not that lattice addition to her heart. I just wish that Christine would find her voice, just once, and stop apologizing for everything. Her opinion should matter, and count, just as much as the rest of them.

Not only was it an SA comment, but perhaps Christine had seen the show where he really wanted to give Robyn a necklace and knew that he had to come up with some design for the others as well!

I don't get this "religion"-- it's more like a 12 Step Meeting .. take what you want/need and leave the rest!

I had also wondered why the Browns didn't get involved in trying to stop the abuse that we've read so much about the last couple of weeks. Thanks, Cara, for explaining that these people would be no help at all in such an endeavor!

What is Christine's mother's name? Wonder why we never see any of her bio family?
Forbidden by their "prophet" from participating?

    2. Dear The Magic Hat,
I asked Cara if I could answer this about Kristyn's genealogy.
Kristyn Decker's mother was Joy Cooke, Her father was Owen Allred, the Prophet of the AUB.

Christine Brown's grandmother became a "wife" of Owen's. this made her and Christine's mother step siblings.
Although, Christine and her mother are cousins of Kristyn.

One reason I haven't posted the whole huge genealogy file is because of those that do not wish their name published. I may change it to look like this. "? Brown" for example, for someone not involved with the show. Working on that... never ending with us adding these shows, they are all related.

  36. Yes, Yes.....The "What Love is This". series is a treasure trove of information. Doris's own story is poignant enough, and the brief opening montage before each episode about her life is powerful, however each show brings more and more testimony and information to the forefront. Highly recommend it.

And Kody's snide reference to "hippies" only serves to point out his ignorance of anything outside of his self-styled plygdom, and also shows *his bias* and disrespect for others's life choices.

Meditation was a "new" concept for five adults close to or over 40???....Really !!!
Not saying they could or would have practiced it; but come on, to act as if they never heard of it was ridiculous....not believable !!

But then again if there is a consistent theme with the Browns, it is that they "say" many things that are just words. Words which spike up a scene or set up for the next scene.
SW, the show, is now nothing more than a group performance.

  38. Either the Brown read this blog or they have suddenly become self-aware. When discussing Meri not birthing any more babies, Kody spoke up and said that Meri would have opportunities to mother her bonus children. I think that we, the SW blog, helped Kody to see that Meri actually didn’t even want another child but was using it as a ploy to keep herself relevant to Kody. And Kody read the blog and remembered the whole premise of the sister wife thing was to help each other out and raise one large family, so he brought it up in the safety of an episode. Therefore, I think we need to take credit here at SWB for helping Kody to realize what was really going on with Meri and the baby thing. Just sayin’

    1. Interesting thought, CPA Carol. I hope you're right that he visits!

It's definitely not Sobbyn who comes here, though. She's still grabbing the spotlight, stroking Kodilocks, twitching, picking, examining...then flicking (insert imaginary icon that is green and gagging), licking her front teeth w/ her mouth closed so that it looks like she's trying to reposition dentures, and smoothing her hair in all the couch interviews. Whether it's nervous anxiety, impulse control disorder, or agitation from weight loss pills (interesting thought, Cara!), I cannot understand how she watches the show and fails to tame her behavior accordingly in front of the camera. Perhaps she's wearing her white headband too tight!

More serious thought: I'm still ticked off that the Browns have failed to disclose that they are still very much a part of the AUB. Disingenuous posers!

Girl Scout Cookie sales booth while buying Thin Mints?

  40. If the Browns undertook this television show to prove to the world that polygamy a successful and wonderful lifestyle option then they have failed miserably. IMHO, they have done the complete opposite.

If they think they are going to get polygamy legalized in Utah then they better think again. The mainstream Mormon church is a political powerhouse when it wants to be. I work with several Mormons and they HATE polygamists and believe that they taint all Mormons with their illegal and immoral lifestyle.

  42. Watching “Too Many Wives” where the “wives” give Kody the ring and they get furniture for their rent-a-houses. Meri doesn’t have a voice, and couldn’t even pick out her own furniture. She allows Kody to bulldoze right over her “loved” couch and pick another one and pretends to be happy with it. I feel like she’s done this the entire marriage. Also in this episode Janelle calls out Robyn on the annoying “damsel in distress” act, with a smile of course, and for some reason Kody thinks that Janelle’s living room being a “cowboy theme” is because she loves him for being a cowboy? How in the world is he a cowboy? He drives a sports car (not a truck), he pampers his hair more so than his first wife, and he’s just….a total fraud. Why does he always think he’s catch words? Cowboy, hippie, etc. (?) Ugh. I am done with this show but will read this blog.

PS: Some questions they should've asked during the "Lying" episode (a.k.a. SISTERWIVES: Tell All) would be:

    1. Do you all enjoy sharing cold sores? America's noticed they started after Robyn entered the marriage....

    2. Meri how do you get that lovely shade of ORANGE you're always wearing?

shaken to be around her sweet aunt, even to the point of the juvenile behavior
in the bathroom, because she said her aunt doesn't want anyone to live polygamy.
Hmmm. Methinks she prtests too much! more like she might hear truths she cannot
ignore, but i digress. Let me see if I remember another apostate.

How about Kodys brother, Curtis? I know he has passed away but he did not only
visit, but stay at the Browns for a few days and even preached at their Sunday
service. He and Kody both stated he did not believe in the Book of Mormon, nor
did he believe in polygamy. This is despite being raised that way. Doesn't that
make him apostate too? I was sad to hear of his passing and truly hope his
family knows many are thinking of them still.

so I remember when there was a expose on the Gosslin family. They showed a whole evolution of Kate's hair. It was short and un dyed in the beginning.....as they acquired more money and publicity kate's hair gained highlights, spikes and then extensions. I was thinking it would be fun to see a flip book of Meri's hair, starting from the late 80"s hair when she an kody were courting/engaged. It would also be fun to see one of kody's receding hair line. I am betting the effect of money on kody's hair makes it look worse.

  55. I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right spot but here goes. Several things bugged me about these last two episodes. When the therapist asks Christine to read she snaps back, "yes, I can read" I think she took it as a put down, thinking we all assume ( sometimes correctly) that people in her faith aren't very well educated. Then, Kody was so so bossy during the chalkboard blocks segment. It starts out with him asking ,one word per block, right? Then he says he's writing peace and safety, on ONE block. He asks again, gets the same answer and again they show a close-up of him writing 2 words. Then when they are placing them he's so so bossy. He likes to laugh and act like the women boss him but that is not the truth.

The one that had me so confused was Robyn's "Embracing our Diversity". What the heck does she mean by that? Blondes vs Brunettes? Wet Bar vs Pastries Free Zones? Vacancy vs Out of Business Wombs? They are all polygamists from the same polygamy group, and not to sound racist, but they are all white, no real cultural diversity among them. Am I missing something that everyone else sees?

She wrote "Embracing OUR Diversity". Where is the diversity in their family? Unless that is Robyn's way of spotlighting her children from her previous marriage? Her vocabulary must be really limited, and diversity was the word of the day or something.

  56. This may be petty and perhaps inconsequential but I was rather perturbed by kody saying the therapist was a crazy lady and that she was pushing them to the edge with some of her activities and methods. I have never been in therapy or marriage counseling, so my first hand experience is minimal; but isn't that the point of therapy? To push you to truly examine your feelings and their origins? As well as find lasting resolutions or the realization that perhaps those things will be a continual learning process??

Secondly for a family that prides themselves on acceptance, tolerance and not being judgemental or harmful, they were rather quick to employ an insult by calling her crazy.

Sedona. If this was around Mother's Day, the kids would have still been in school. If all the adults went on this retreat, which child was selected to skip school to be home with the little kids? Which poor child was expected to be a "bonus mom" to all the kids? Why go all the way to Sedona, when their new "crazy lady" therapist is in Vegas?

During the tell all, I totally missed the eye-pick, and apparently the thigh rubs. What I did see tho, was Robyn being all wiggly on the couch. She kept bouncing around and twisting about, I couldn't tell if she was trying to move closer to Kody, or turn her body to the camera so we wouldn't see what may or may not have been a baby bump.

Off-topic just a bit, but where does Kody leave his car? I don't remember seeing it in anyone driveway. And Robyn riding shotgun, it appears that it is Robyn's van they drive. One more thing, when Kody is running from house to house, he seems to always be leaving Robyn's house. That is where he was putting the necklaces in the bags, unless he made everyone else buy those hideous monster back pink chairs. I would guess that Robyn is or was preggo, and he made her house homebase so to speak.

I have always questioned the bankruptcies. When Janelle filed in 1997, she filed in Utah, and claimed Logan, Madison and Hunter as dependents. She also said she had a double bed and a crib. Where did Logan and Maddie sleep? I wonder who was the co-owners of the vacant lots she listed as real property, in Payson UT and Wyoming.

When Kody and Meri filed in 2005, in the state of "Y"-o-ming, they claimed 7 kids. Daughter 9, Son 8, Son 7, Son 6, Son 3, Son 3, Daughter 1. Now forgive me if I have this wrong, but Logan is the oldest, then Aspyn, Mariah, Maddie, not sure who is next Mykelti or Hunter, and then Paedon or Garrison, but whatever order it is, the kids dont match up to what was offered on the bankrupty papers. Kody really must be clueless to the ages of his kids and which are girls and boys.
