VIDEO Sister Wives: What the Wives Want, They Get?

Good Grief!

Here's a video that goes into even more detail what options Kody and his Kody-pendents want for their McMansions! I've included the floor plans for you, so you can easily visualise what they have in mind.

My thoughts? I hate Great Rooms. Can't stand them. I want my kitchen hidden from view. And another thing I noticed - there's no living room (do the Kody-pendents realize this?) and did you hear Robyn complaining about the 'vaulted' ceilings? And did you hear her say "In my home in Utah I had vaulted ceilings". Who is she fooling? Who would want to make that wonderful open space into bedrooms? And then Janelle wants to convert the formal dining room into an office? She wants to turn that beautiful space into an OFFICE? Is she nuts? I'm beginning to think only Meri understands how to make this McMansion into a showcase. If this was going to be my house, here are my changes:

  1. Keep the great room and wet bar (but I would definitely redesign that wet bar)
  2. Change the Office/Exercise room into a formal sitting area
  3. Change the Hobby room into an office AWAY from distractions (but close to the food)
  4. Change the 2nd floor Bonus room into a media room opening to the deck

What would be your changes?

  1. Let me just add all this up:
    5 bedrooms
    3 bathrooms
1 powder room (no, seriously, what even is that?)
    2 decks
    2 covered patios
    1 office/exercise
    1 dining room
    1 great room
    1 nook
    1 wetbar
    1 bonus room
    1 hubby room

a number of things aren't lost on me here:

    1) Kody is quick to volunteer Janelle's dining room-turned-office for family business meetings, though she clearly wants NO part of it. However, it's time to let the Las Vegas real estate dream die. No, seriously.

    2) Meri wastes no time getting rid of that pesky "exercise nook" to double her bedroom. Hey, I'm all for embracing your reality. "I'm more likely to nap than do a sit up so...let's just get rid of this wall, yes?" (yes, I'm aware it could also be an "office", but again, let's be real. she's not doing any working. from home or any other location.)

    3) RE: point 2, Christine wastes no time suggesting Meri ditch the "get back in shape" dream. Way to sabotage each other. Sisterly Love! *tear*

    4) If your kitchen has an extra sink ---er wetbar--- why does a "pantry nook" become such a necessity? I'm assuming it's to house the poster paint and glitter for the hobby room (AKA sunless tanner)

    1. 1 powder room (no, seriously, what even is that?)

It's the guest restroom - consisting of a sink, a toilet and a mirror so the lady guest can take care of business and powder her shiny nose and forehead before heading back out to the partay! It also keeps the riffraff from using family bathrooms (and snooping in the medicine cabinets).

The nook is where the informal family meals are eaten. Or in Janelle's case, it becomes her main dining room. The pantry is where you store all those cans and boxes of food that a large family needs and stocks up on. Meri's only got herself and Mariah so it doesn't surprise me that the pantry had to go - she really doesn't need it.

    2. Confrence room in the house with the most kids...sheesh

The excersise room is larger than the hobby room use that room of your many many empty rooms.

    3. This may have already been said but I do not think that anyone can actually build a house that large out of quality material and with quality craftmanship in Las Vegas for $500,000.00. I live down south where real estate is much less expensive than in other parts of the country and you could not even build it for that price here.
Also, I really have problems with Meri. If you choose polygamy then you choose to embrace other wives and their children as part of you and your family. So she only has one kid and feels that is unfair. Well, welcome to life in general. In a family you put other's needs ahead of your own personal wants. I realize she wanted more children but the cards were not dealt that way and she needs to put the needs of the other family members ahead of her own personal self. I don't understand whey they don't all just get two houses and two wives/children per house. That seems more realistic. Those kids are not going to always live at home and then you just got four wives with huge homes to keep up.

    4. You bring up a good point Kristy. I thought the model was just awful looking. That kitchen island was constructed like it belonged in a apartment and not a almost $500,000 house. The cabinets look cheap and that wetbar was just awful. And only 3 choices for the granite tops, probaly the least expensive granite too I bet. I wouldn't be surprised if those houses kody's buying have vinyl flooring. I think the developers are taking kody to the cleaners

      Delete
    5. Those granite choices were butt-ugly - I'm no expert, but based on multiple viewings of "Property Ladder" that looks like very cheap granite - the kind the flippers on PL would select as they went way over budget to save $$ and be able to say "granite countertops!" as a selling point. I like concrete or butcher block, personally.

      Delete
    6. i absolutely love my granite counters and large breakfast bar BUT for our $500K custom designed home, we were able to pick out our own huge slab at a granite farm that literally had a hundred or more unique colors and vein/design patterns to choose from. it's weird that they got 3 basic (boring design) choices for a $500K home. lame.

    7. Meri said that she needed certain features in her home for her business. What business is that? Did I miss something? Is she talking about that MLM that sells the green sludge? If so, then whoever posted on a previous board that Meri's dream home with wetbar was Kody's brain(less) child was spot on.

      Delete
    8. I agree Kristy! When I built a home 5 years ago in OK, I actually went to the granite place and tagged what slab I wanted them to make my counters out of. I also had to go to the flooring place and pick all of the tile, and the grain of wood for the wood floors. The choices were overwhelming. I also had to go to the lighting store, and even pick out the toilet paper holders, door handles, etc.. I noticed when they were talking about the stained glass window, how cheap the entry way looked.

  2. My husband and I raised 4 children in much smaller spaces than these monstrosities. Anyway, as I don't have a staff, and have to clean everything myself, I am not interested in excessive space. I don't want a wet bar. I am fine with the laundry area in a closet. I see no point in having a hobby room and an office and an exercise room. I make do (somehow) using 1 room for all these things. My husband is a professional musician, so he needs a room to make noise in with his musician friends-he is a legitimate professional working partly from home, not some frustrated plyg pretending a web site selling jewelry no one wants is a business. Slap on a kitchen, a master bedroom and 2 guest rooms (our children and their families are here a great deal.) Mostly, I want an outdoor green house! I live in 3000 feet of snow at 6000+ altitude in Colorado, and I can't grow a garden here. It really depends on what one wants in a home. I want comfort and functionality, something I can afford and clean on my own. I have zero interest in a show house. If I thought the KotexKlan could afford these things, I would not care what they did. However, I anticipate we non pylgo's will somehow get the tab on this, one way or another.

Meri will find she uses mainly only the kitchen and one other room, probably one that has a TV and computer in it. Also, a small family in a large house requires tons of yelling and for Meri's size family, they lose all intimacy. I have lived in a house that size w/one kid, so I speak from experience that with one kid, you are always yelling up and down and across and it all echoes. Sometimes, it really is better to downsize.

      Delete
    3. I with you. I have about 1700 sq ft and that is more than enough for me to manage. My house is about 130-years-old with horsehair plaster walls and ceilings. It's solid as a rock. I love it. To each his own, but I would never want one of those McMansions. They look cheap to me.

There was a flood in my town back in the early 1970's. An entire ward of our town was wiped out. Developers built an entire 'community' of townhouses to replace some of the old homes that were torn down. When they were first built in the mid 70s, they looked very posh. For that time, they were really spacious. They were very modern and had all the latest conveniences. Everyone wanted to live in one of those houses. It turns out they were too difficult to heat and cool. The people who lived in them went broke trying to maintain them. (They are about half the size and less of the McMansions.) Now, they are crumbling, literally. They look like crap now. They were thrown together too quickly. It shows. They are one big eye sore now.

That's how these quicky developments always end up. My cousin bought into a development about 25 years ago. She had to have great big house like the Browns. Among other things, my cousin had to replace her kitchen and bathroom flooring within ten years after her house was built. Her fireplace that she wanted so much is completely non-functional. It wasn't built properly. It caused carbon monoxide build up. Her two kids are in college now and she doesn't need a big house and she can't afford it with along with paying college tuition. Her development looks run down. She can't sell her house. No, thanks. I'll stay where I am.

  4. I agree with you CJ. I would go Meri's way - really POSH(wet-bars and all)!

amazingly the 2 Real-estate agents to be are not on par with current trends on the market!

I mean this is Las Vegas baby, if you ever decide to sell the Mansions - Meri's will be an easy buy!

but I get a bit about Janelle - seems she likes to hide! back in Utah - she was hidden each working day at work. now she wants an office where she gets to "work" while the kids take care of each other - as sister wife Christine is now "too busy" to watch them!

yeah right - funny enough, one person who might need an office is Robyn......... I hate to admit it, but people lets face it, she is the one who is very hands-on with MSWC....

    1. I agree with you there - better to have a mansion which is fitted as mansion, not like their house in Utah.

      Delete
    2. I know a couple people who have websites which they run as businesses (and much more successfully than MSWC!) and they don't have offices...they do everything online.

Robyn SO does not need an office. She could run MSWC from the kitchen table. But this family has entitlement issues.

A conference room??? Come on now.

      Delete
    3. The thing is....why could they not just set up the "Business Office" in Meri's house...shipping, receiving, computer, inventory...all that goes with the business in one location...they live freakin' 50 feet from each other, and be done with it...DONE!

      Delete
    4. Inventory? They could do that in a closet and still have room for coats.

      Delete
    5. i bet you their entire jewelry inventory is sitting in a half filled small "joolery" box. ;'p

      Delete
    6. From having run an online shipping business from home I know that they need - a packing area, a stock area with storage, a supply area with boxes and shipping supplies. They need a printer and computer with ready access to sort the shipping labels. They really do need one central office/shipping point so that the right hand knows what the left is doing. This could all be achieved at Meri's place as she mentioned she needed room for shipping there. So that would be the business hub for the MSWC business.

    7. I'm looking at these floor plans again. I have three kids. My oldest will be 30-years-old next month. She is married with three kids of her own. She moved out years ago. I have two teenagers in high school who are still at home. So, there's just my husband, my two teens and me, which is really two more people than Meri has in her family. We could live very comfortably just on Meri's first floor with room leftover for when my oldest daughter and her family come to visit. My two youngest will be going off to college (or whatever they choose to do) in a couple of years. Once our two youngest move on, the first floor alone would be too much house for just my husband and me. Meri is a greedy hag if she thinks she needs a house this size all to herself. She makes me sick. I don't know how much longer I can watch this show with Meri on it. I can't stand her at all. She makes Robyn look human.

I guess it is a matter of preference.......

I like to invest in property. My Masion will also be a "top of the range" kind, with wet bar and any other luxies possible(budget depending). this is LV and it is best to get a house that will be easy to sell anytime should I decide to....

I agree with Christine in this one, Meri have good taste!

Janelle.....hmmmmmm.....not the best person to consult if one need to "pamper" yourself! too pratical to the tee - I find her imagination limited! she is the kind of person that you will consult if you want to go for the cheapest house in LV - IMHO! LOL!

  6. Well if you are dreaming anyway and not sure that you are going to get them when they are all built, might as well go big or go home.
That said, why do they need both the office/exercise room and the optional Hubby room????
See above statement.... I suspect they figure they aren't really going to get the homes so they might as well dream big and have fun designing them anyway.

  7. I guess I'm too practical. I would like my Dining Room switched with my Great Room. Why are they so far apart? I would probaby turn that Bonus Room into another Bedroom cuz I have 4 kids and I'd make one of those storage closets in the hall a closet for the Bonus/5th bedroom. Screw getting the 5th bedroom. I mean if you need to save money then start by converting rooms. Duh! And there is already an Office so why do any of them need a hobby room? That's just assinine! In your office but a treadmill, desk, and a wall storage. There! You have something to workout on, something to do your "work" on, and "online" crap on. Voila!
I mean... did these ladies not have organizational skills drilled into them growing up?! If your going to have a "cheap" McMansion, at least do it with style.

  8. These people say "Shut up" to each other all the time. I've noticed it since the series started and it always shocks me. Total lack of respect for each other. Maybe not a big deal to others, just a bug-a-boo to me.

  9. I would LOVE a 3-car garage. But we don't have one. We make it work.

I would LOVE a hobby room - a space of my own that's not covered in kids' sports equipment, shoes, coats, random crap - but I don't. I just make it work.

I would ADORE a covered patio - no, make that two - and an exercise room so I could move our treadmill away from my washer/dryer, where it becomes not so much a piece of exercise equipment but a handy place to dry sweaters....but.....

This family is HUGE. Groceries must cost a small fortune each week. Gas for the cars, clothes, utility bills for four houses...the mindset of these people insisting on wet bars and french doors and hobby rooms...I just cannot wrap my brain around their thought processes.

"Conference Room"? Conference Room??! Puleeeeze! That clip was more of an infommercial for the Builders! What the hell Meri?! You entitled selfish self-centered mean girl! Someone, anyone other than the Browns is financing this pipe dream, no way in hell do they have enough equity to put down as a down payment on FOUR 4000SQFT HOMES! Or does Vegas have different criteria for down payments? Here in Canada you need 20% of the purchase price to qualify for a mortgage.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Used to be no down payment or like 5% was the norm but then the bubble burst and I believe it's usually 20% here now too.

    2. Exactly, a Conference room??? More like an ambush room!!...Since they seem to shoot down any idea or subject down real fast that they don't want to acknowledge or entertain ....

    3. Different states have different terms at different times. There were a few southern states that offered a newly built, somewhat customizable home with no down payment. My sister/brother in law did it. But it was only offered in 3 states, not Michigan, where I live. And it had something to do with what Obama was trying to do to help the housing market or something. So it all depends on where you live and what state is offering what.

      Delete
    4. It depends on your loan program. With an FHA loan (which has more lenient requirements) you only need 3.5% down. With a conventional loan you need 5%, the only thing having 20% down does is eliminate your mortgage insurance thereby lowering your payment.

    1) are all the "wives" to have the same basic design that is shown abov?
    2) what is the proposed budget for each?

    3) and why, oh why are this people not employed and helping to increase the gross natioonal product. They are just pretending to be self employed. I will but a plug nickel that the IRS would have a field day with this family.

Lets' say I was given a $500,000 budget for a home. I would be so space efficient and I certainly would not use all the money. And I would make sure the home was in only my (the house for that wife) was only in my name.

  18. I am so so disappointed in this. If these folks had plenty of money, a history of being hard working, I could back them on this. But I just think this is too much for someone in their position. I think they should've chosen a much more modest area with some 3 or 4 BR houses, a couple of baths, kitchen, LR, big fenced backyards. Would've been small and real normal, but I bet they could've been happy. Plus, I like being able to go to sleep at night and not worry about can I afford this or how long before I lose it. Nothing like peace of mind.

Oh well, since we're dreaming, I'd take out the wet bar, as I don't drink, make the hobby room into a sewing area as I've always wanted to learn how. Use the office for an office, and turn one of the other rooms into a mini gym. It's just me and the hubs and two small kids, so that is plenty of room! I might even consider moving mom in!

After all these years, especially between the first three wives, you would think there would be some kind of mutual respect and admiration for each other, and I see none. Sometimes I see glimpses between Janelle, and Christine, but it's not often.

    1. The sad part is, Mariah wants to live this "lifestyle" because she sees her parents as an example. She also said that she wants to do it because she wants sisterwives....yet her mom and the other SW all have different issues with each other. ????

    2. I sertiously doubt Mariah "wants" to live this lifestyle ........... that part was scripted! as much as mom is the legal wife, Mariah grew up to see her mom's misery.............

Daughters see more than what their moms say........ they are that perceptive!

I think it was a statement in support of mom, that Meri chose this - thou we have seen Meri cannot stand these women! the feeling is mutual between the wives!

  21. There are only 3 of us, the dog and some dust bunnies that live in my home. We currently live in about 1500 sq ft not including the basement (which really is only for the furnace, water heater and laundry). We live in maybe 4 rooms of the house. It's really plenty for us but I would like bigger closets (it's an older home where closets didn't seem to be an issue). We've been tossing around ideas for the "next house" if there is one for awhile now.

Looking at this floor plan, even though it is just the 3 of us, I would want both pantries. Sound excessive? I hope to start gardening and canning more. I also home school and have a plethora of books that I would like to have hidden. The "Hobby Room" would be beneficial for our home school supplies. I say that, but I have a room that we call the "school room" and my son prefers to do his work in the living room. The Hobby Room might be fun to make sound proof as my son plays electric guitar...currently in our living room. Also, maybe the one pantry (near the laundry) would be beneficial for a mud room---especially with lots of kids. I imagine they scramble to find shoes and backpacks in the morning before school.

    1. Oh...on a personal note but related...

I only have the one child, 13. I intended to have 3. I did not. But I don't want a house able to hold 3 children. It was my desire; not my reality. My desires on what I want have changed as my life has changed. Will I ever get a house with 4 bedrooms? Maybe. But the reasoning will not be because "I intended to have more kids."

All though this life style is not for me and my family I give you all credit for being true and loyal to one another. I have recently been a little upset on how the whole house designs are going along. Totally understand on living closer that is a big priority for your family but the whole bigger is better I feel is the first disappointment I've seen! I have a two bedroom small apartment that holds me, my husband and son. We work are butts off and would love to have a house someone day. It bothers me to see Mary upset if she can't get 5 bedroom house for one child or french doors. Just know there are needy kids and family that don't have one bedroom. The other women seem like they have more realistic views on the building. So I guess my question is whats more important french doors huge house or all together finally being happy?

While I disagree with the financial choices they seem to be making (based on the limited info available to me as a viewer) and would never want to be on TV, I do appreciate the glimpse into their lives, and I find them interesting. I think there are a lot of unfair assumptions made by some commenters here, esp. when it comes to interpreting facial expressions, etc., but I do enjoy reading this blog and appreciate the work that the mods put into it.

  24. Meri has repeatedly said, she wants the big house because she wants to hold family gatherings there. In other words, she wants the plyg dream of having "the big house" where the top guy 'lives', and everyone comes to gather on special occasions. If she doesn't have that, then she's just an old wife who lives in a crackerbox while the kid producing women get the big houses, proving to her every holiday that she didn't do her real job in polygamy, of having lots of kids.

But she doesn't want those brats around, messing up her furniture on a normal day to day basis.

One thing I've noticed is that there seems to be a system to how they all sit lately during couch sessions. Robyn and Meri to Kodylocks left, while Christine and Janelle are on the right, with Janelle always on the end.

    4. When I see Janelle on couch time, whenever Meri is talking or weeping (or usually, both at the same time), I think Janelle is doing all that she can in her power to NOT jump off her side of the couch and start slapping Meri silly. That is why she just stares straight ahead, not looking at anyone or making any movement. "I think what we have is awesome, I wouldn't change a thing"...whoever made her say that for the opening of the show has a cruel sense of humor.

    5. I seriously hope that Janelle and Christine stay with the family-- until the TLC gravy train ends. Then, they take whatever money they've squirreled away and leave the other losers. (if they leave while TLC is paying the family, they'll lose earnings-- and Kody, Meri, and Robyn will get a bigger share).

In a perfect world, TLC could even focus a series on the two of them establishing their new lives.

      is't that madness?

not forgetting marrying your former sister-in-law's hubby! most divorcee do not want anything to do with their former in-laws, but this one rushed in to be ex-sister-in-law's sister wife

  26. Looking at the big picture....
If I was Meri, I would design the house for the best possible resale configuration.

If I was Janelle, with older kids needing college soon, I would design it with saving as much money aside as I could to go toward future expenses.

If I was Christine, I would stop with competing with Meri for silly extras, and instead, focus on making the house work for my kids' needs. She has quite a few years left with smaller children.

If I was Robin, I would consider bedrooms space as a priorty since Sperm King has made it clear that he wants more celestial beings.

    A thought....
Since eventually Robin too will be replaced as the squeeze du jour, wonder where the next lucky lady will live. Possibly the entire cuddlesac with *all 9 mansions* will eventauly all be "KodyWorld."

They all come in on Sundays, spend the night many times throughout the year for festivities, and let me tell you - I need more room now than ever. What I don't need, nor do they, are a bunch of Large bedrooms. The greatroom, Kitchen, and Dr are strange. Dr is small. I am one that likes to have one, and you need a LARGE table for when they all come home. That is just me.

    THE KODY BROWN FAMILY
    1. Has begun a jealousy race - Who can make the bestest, prettiest, Kody warming house? It reminds me of when as a kid we all had the same Barbie Dream home, but one mom was a seamstress, and they rest of us were ticked our friend had custom stuff instead of cut up material for the beds!LOL

    2. HELLO. Later, when you are broke or wife 5 has come into the picture, NO ONE will buy a half million dollar house with three others just like it RIGHT next to them? It's ridiculous!

    3. They could custom build some nice homes for half the price elsewhere. They have no NEED to live in Vegas. ELSWHERE, they could also put bdrms in the basement, so when not used, not necessarily heat or cool.

    4. THEY STILL OWN THE HOME IN LEHI. That makes 5 homes.

    5. What I see: Meri, and secretly Robyn, are just plotting for the day. Janelle, you need to put those real estate lessons in gear. To sell later, you don't want cheap stuff! I BELIEVE Janelle and Christine are getting smart, getting jobs, and wanting to be self sufficient if need be.

    6. SMART. The ladies will own the homes without Kody. Minus Meri.

  29. I don't believe ANY of these women will ever leave the KodyWorld circus.
And not because of their loyalty to the "Principle."

They share a deeply trenched co-dependency of entitlement, low self esteem and self-absorption. As much as they dislike each other, they definitely need each other to validate their shared and individual dysfunction. They need to resent and to bitch about each other. That relieves their own frustration and awareness of self. The stress of the lifestyle almost requires that for survival.

And now, they also share their *public identity.*
An identity they have chosen to parlay into finances in order to have what they want...however unrealistic and over the top those wants are.
As long as *all of them* are unconcerned about how bizarre and ridiculous their wants are, then not any one of them has to feel conspicuously greedy or unrealistic. It's a solidarity that is their own weird version of a mob mentality !!
And yes, Janelle is right there with them. Actually I think Janelle is sly like a fox. She would much prefer that any one of the other wives takes the public heat and critical snark, while she looks "normal."
But...she is moving into "her" McMansion too, isn't she !

Would "the Closet" be a reality w/o the SW brand ?? Not a chance!
If they weren't the SW's, would anyone buy the green goo within only their closed little plyg world...hardly !!
In the current depressed real estate market, would any realtor really need to hire "two" admin helpers?
The realtors I know are hanging on with a prayer right now.
But they surely would if the new hires just happen to be not one, but two..."of the famed Sister Wives."
You just can't buy that kind of PR. They will have walk-ins to that LV office just to gawk, and that fact was surely not lost on good ol' Mona.!!

Good or bad, win or lose, they have to be the Kody Harem, if not, the group would quickly lose its fan base and certainly its $$ potential and impact.

    1. I don't believe ANY of these women will ever leave the KodyWorld circus

I'm reading a very interesting book by Janet Bennion called "Polygamy in Primetime". (FYI, she is pro-polygamy, pro decriminalization anthropologist.)

In her section on divorce, she talked about something called the Brigham Young mandate that allows an unsatisfied woman to marry the next man with greater priesthoods - in other words to leave a current husband by asking to be released, and then marrying 'up' with the next husband. And if another man happens by with more status - you got it - ask for a release and marry the new man. Apparently, this practice is very common in the AUB. She mentioned that a woman named 'Mary' had been released from her previous two husbands in order to marry up to her third.

OK, now think who of Kody's Kodettes could possibly be one of these "marriage" climbers? Here's some hints:

Her first marriage was " to the son of a very prominent family"

She has said "I was validated in the breakup of my marriage and had nothing to hide". Could this be a reference to the Brighan Young mandate of unsatisfied release?

When she first went to the Browns' home, she said "The first thing I noticed was that there wre three convertibles parked in the driveway...I had the impression that they were trying to show off for me".

Another quote: "...the television show that [Kody] had been discussing since we got engaged went from dream to reality. The show's producer...sold a pilot...and TLC was going to help us pay for our wedding."

Finally, "I would have been happy with the smallest receptions...[but] I got the big wedding followed by a long honeymoon...[which] were both necessary and special to me...those ten days were especially important to me because of the hardships I had been through in my previous marriage"

Yep, this wife will be moving on the second Kody tells her she has to bite the bullet and lose all those nice things having a tv show afforded her.

The quotes are from Becoming Sister Wives.

    2. Interesting, CJ. Very interesting !! Thanks !
You have done a ton more research than most of us here and I appreciate the info. With your research, it is easy to see things in their book (Becoming Sister Wives) that relate back to other facts which you have read about other individuals in this alleged "religion."

So, assuming that if Sobbing Robin would get a better offer than Kody and KodyWorld, does/can she take any assets accumulated in the marriage with her? As in furnishings, cars or maybe even the title to a McMansion?

There is so much speculation about whether there is silent backer for these mortgages. If so, would whose or whatever's name is actually fronting for the mortgages actually be on the titles? No one knows.

What is interesting about your report is that in the AUB or other Plyg sects, obviously "love" is not really a factor at all. It is all about status and positioning. What a cold, calculated world they live in!!

      Delete
    3. CJ - that is on point! I always feel like Robyn is working very hard to get this family to like her, especially the kids. She also sees where the other wives miss it with Kody and tries to do her best to stay in his good graces and remain favored. Can't say I exactly fault her for any of this ... If it were done with pure intentions. Robyn had nothing and she needed to be taken care of. The show was what sealed the deal. She loves the fact that she is younger, smaller and more favored than the others, but I can guarantee you almost, when they go back to being as broke as the Lehi days, she is not sticking around. She showed her true colors when she cried and said Kody was "killing their dreams" about the houses. She took that way harder than the others. And to think, she has the worst credit out of them!

      Delete
    4. I agree that Robyn's an opportunist and will jump on the next one that comes her way. I think she actually was probably eating her heart out the most over the Darger group and their personal maintenance, shared home and the middle wife being the MAIN child caretaker!! Plus, she would get to snuggle up to PJ in front of her sister wives - something i imagine she wishes she could do now with Kody - especially in front of First Wife Meri!!

I was shocked when they could rent 4 large houses with pools, let alone buy 4 McMansion. Didn't Kody say in the book that Janelle came into an inheritance and shared it? Must have been a pretty decent amount! No wonder she looks comatose all the time- her brain probably finally exploded when she added up how much cash she's turned over to these lunatics.

  34. Did anyone notice within the first 20 seconds or so of the first show, Robin has Sol sitting on the table and she pulled him by the legs and purposefully faced him right toward the camera? I thought that action was odd.

I couldn't watch the first show. I was in tears at the thought of what was happening to Drake. If they were going to put this on TV, we, the viewers needed to see more of him before this and a MUCH more detailed explanation from the vet and this family as to why. I'm appalled that TLC or Figure 8 didn't know that the viewers were going to be outraged at the death of an animal where there was no impression to take away other then the poor dog peed on Meri's precious carpet? Call Stanley Steamer!

It appears as if they have chosen to make Meri the 'villain' in this show and she is a willing participant because they couldn't possibly make her look any worse and she is certainly helping in making herself look like a complete selfish *****. I just can't stand her and I wish, I WISH Janelle would just jump up off that couch one day and tell her off!

Did anyone else notice poor Janelle on almost all the couch interviews (in the first episode) just staring off into space? She looked like she was just vacant and empty. She looked very sad.

In the second episode I was confused by Mykelti (sp?). How can her dreams of being a fashion designer be reconciled with her religion? In her words she doesn't think it's unfair for her parents to enforce their beliefs on her. Unless she is going to design modest clothes for her conservative religion - she will never be able to or understand how to design clothes that show the arms, low neck lines, short skirts. All she'll be able to design are long sleeved t-shirts and parkas.

The launch of SWC. All I could see was greed. Meri "I totally expected that we would have people on there, purchasing". The arrogance! Do they really believe they are such celebrities that people would be beating down their web site to buy the junk? Kody "We have kids to go to college, homes to pay for" as if it is the viewers responsibility to pay for these things? Arrogant snobs. Seriously.

Isn't their religion supposed to be about service to others, each other and to God?

I see zero of this, ever.

  35. Since the beginning of this show being aired, there has been a major, major turn around within the family. Actually, it happened when Robyn entered the family.
Kody picked out Robyn's wedding gown, had a honeymoon and I would guess jealously
    reared its ugly head.
And then there was a case of Robyn needed a home, but then they had to move.

These reality shows do pay well, but at what cost? They are no longer a family; separate families. The show will eventually shut down and then what? They're
making religious jewelry. I feel they're begging viewers to buy the jewelry, but the economy is not what it was. Viewers aren't being paid by TLC. Financial problems are terrible, Kody, and you didn't start this business up before the holidays. As a man in this family group, you need to think ahead....like a chess game.

You should have moved back to Utah and added on to the house Meri's sister is using. From what I've read, your family wouldn't be prosecuted. Four homes will not make you a family. I hope the women are smart and save for themselves and their individual families. Instead of selling jewelry, T Shirts would have been
better...and no "SW" on shirts displayed. Selling in bulk is so much more profitable than 28 silver pieces.

    2. Meri is not a bully - but a woman fighting for her legal hubby! the looks she flashes them means "This is my husband you flozies"

all the "we chose this lifestyle, it's our religion" nosense do not take away the fact that she has to put up with 3 mistresses daily!

The rest of the mistresses should swallow her bitterness everyday - they chose to live with her when they agreed to "marry" Kody!

and they have ZERO right to slap her face, it is their cross to carry! if they did not want to put up with her, they should have not "married" her hubby!!

      Delete
    3. Prudy - Meri AGREED to additional wives before she married Kody, and agreed to Janelle and Christine being added, if what she has said in the book AND the show is true. They are all equally to blame.

Meri is a selfish bully, and is getting exactly what she put in for and agreed to (IMO, not so much for religious reasons as kind of a "deal with the devil" in exchange for having Kody, the ONLY GUY WHO WANTED TO DATE HER...um I think that says something...)

    4. Merri sets off my gaydar in a big way...she puts off those vibes she really does...She seems like an unhappy mean bully, her evil looks. I mean did you all see when they were on vacation with the Dargers and they were talking about the kitchen and she started pouting immediately at the table! It was like oh here we go again, you could see that on the others faces. Then they flashed to the interview with everyone and she is going on and on about how she takes it personally and never meant to abuse Janelle, all while NO ONE corrects her or comes to her defense. Translation: SHE DID ABUSE JANELLE FOR REAL! Merri just seems like an unhappy mean person. She brought Robyn into the mix to mess with the others. probably to torture Christine since Christine was in her own plyg heaven and had always gotten along with Kody. Christine admitted as much that their relationship was easy and she wanted to be a third wife, so of course Merri found Robyn to mess with Christines head and happiness. She seems like the type that wants to makes everyone as miserable as she is. I keep saying this but Janelle seems like the nicest one, the most pragmatic and tolerant, she seems to go with the flow and just handle things. She deserves better than Kody Brown!

  37. It made sense that Robyn wanted a living room without vaulted ceilings, she is right, with kids playing it can get noisy. And it would have given them an extra room.

I still wonder if the kids will reconnect like they did back in Utah, once they are all next to each other. It's too bad there isn't a giant rec room/living room that they can all congregate in the evenings.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I agree. I think they should have opted for a basement. IDK if that was an option but a basement is great for kids as a rec room and a way for teens to have space away from their parents.

      Delete
    2. Seriously? Those kids aren't going to "reconnect" the way they are wanting them too. They are still living in separate homes with their single Mom's, Dad stops by when he feels like it. If they really wanted their families to be close and live like siblings then they would have bought some property and designed one big house. Maybe Kody would have asked Merri to go to therapy over her abuse issues with not being able to share a kitchen. Or they would have just built a few kitchens in the house...They could have done something like that for the money that the four houses must be costing. That is IF that was actually a priority for them, I don't believe that it is. I think that Kody likes having them in separate houses and probably spends most of his time with Robyn. The four houses seems like a bad financial decision, so not in line with what they claim to be their beliefs, and honestly if I was a neighbor I would be angry that their little gated neighborhood is being ruined by this. I mean seriously polygamy is still illegal regardless of what the Browns may think, its just kind of gross too. Very weird, why couldn't they be respectful?

  38. My question is have they even considered the cost of upkeep for these houses? I've lived in a large home in a nice neighborhood and it's costly. My husband and I bought a large house when our daughter was a toddler with the thoughts that we would have at least one more child. Well guess what? Meri is not alone, we were never able to have another child so the house was just too big for us. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with owning a large home - if you can afford it. I agree with a previous poster - these houses look a little cheap. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out. I really enjoy reading everyone's comments1

  39. Meri is a selfish idiot. I think in one of these clips or maybe last week’s show she said to keep her house within the budget she was going to get rid of insulation. In the desert heat that’s a great idea (seriously, who thinks like that). Then again, who thinks a wet bar in a kitchen of all places is a ‘must’ for any home. Janelle, your home has an office. Why do you need to convert the formal dining room into one? A formal dining room is important to many future home buyers while 2 offices…. not so much. Christine, I love you messing with Merri. Robyn, that is not a vaulted ceiling. That is an open room with a flat ceiling. I do understand her wanting to close it off as the echo with her kids would be loud in there and since she wants to have more Kody spawn, the extra space would have been very practical. I did like her reaction though when the builder told her that wasn’t an option. She had a disappointed look and shrugged her shoulders with an “it is what it is” attitude. Meri, maybe you should hang out with her some more since she’s your favorite as we’ve all seen your reaction is to throw a tantrum like a two year old.

We are in the process of building a home around the same size so I have been checking out plenty of homes with that latest, trendy options. These homes are so ugly. They have no character. Each one is just a big, bland, beige empty box. I see cheap carpet, cheap cabinets and generic, poor quality granite. There are no details like moldings, built-ins or archways. That stairwell looked like something from the 1980’s. Why doesn’t the builder decorate the model home to give it a little warmth? Even though I don’t use my current wet bar for its intended purpose (we drink but it makes a great craft area for the kids), we are having one installed in the new home upstairs in the media room to serve as a place for the kids and guests to have cold drinks and snacks when watching a movie. I cannot fathom why Meri is so insistent on one in the kitchen, especially when she doesn’t drink. It’s a glorified prep sink in an inconvenient location. It also looks as if these homes only have one type of living area. In all the homes I’ve looked at, there are at least 2 living spaces, usually a great room and a formal living room or in our case a great room and a keeping room. I live in the South so maybe this is a regional thing but even my current home has 2 living spaces, a formal living room and a great room. That seems standard on any home over 2,000 square feet and only having one would severely hurt resale value.

    1. Do you really believe that Merri doesn't drink? I mean come on, why else would she make such a fuss over the wet bar...the kitchen had plenty of counter space for entertaining her step children...I think it is pretty obvious why she MUST have the wet bar. I agree with you completely they are odd homes, they aren't designed so well and they do look like they are straight out of the eighties. Like they resurrected some old plans that were lying around and tweaked a few things to make them seem more like a new home for today...very tacky what a waste of money. When you consider the monthly up keep for four homes seems like they were better off building one big house to fit their needs, strange indeed. I wonder what TLC is chipping in? What the builder is gifting them in exchange for the exposure? There must be some catch here that they aren't sharing...

    2. I don't know about Meri but i know I would have to drink just married to Kody let alone to 3 other women. I'd have to drink DOUBLE the amount if I was one of Meri's sister wives - just cause of Meri herself.

      Delete
    3. I truly don't get Meri's fascination with the wet bar given that they don't drink booze. I would at least expect to hear her say something about not drinking booze but still wanting it in order to entertain, if for no other reason than to avoid the appearance of impropriety (ie, in their culture, alcohol use). I guess those comments could have been edited out of the footage shown, but it just seems odd to me that it hasn't been said, given her obsession with that damn wet bar.

  40. Seriously, there are countless Americans losing their homes to foreclosure. Does each of your grossly overweight wives really need their own McMansion? 2 wives can't double-up into one house? Really? What a group of entitled idiots. Kody, aren't you at all concerned for their obese health. "Ahhhhh, I can't live with a sliding door!!!!!" Your struggle is fake and insincere and you should be ashamed.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Really - you're reducing them to their weight :/ Agreed on the sliding door, but not on the sharing of homes, especially for Janelle and Christine with 12 kids between them. Maybe Robin and Meri with a total of 5 kids (one of whom is going away soon) but Robin plans on quite a few more. Meri could certainly do with 3 bedroom one storey home, but the others really do need a larger space.

      Delete
    2. This neighborhood builder does not have any one "storey" three bedroom homes. It is a development. That type of floor plan is not available.

      Delete
    3. Why does everyone always have to reduce them to just their weight? I agree they don't need these big houses when they all are not working, but there is more to them than just what they weigh. We don't know the reasons for their weight issues, maybe it is a medical condition. Just because they are overweight doesn't make them any less of a person. plus, I'm sure they all know they are overwight and don't need everyone commenting on it and saying nasty things. Maybe that's why Janelle has low self esteem.

I don't think so. Kody needs to set some family standards. We pray together. We eat together Sunday and -----other nights. Where is the family and the family support?

    1. AGREED! Merri is awful, I wonder if she realizes how bad she comes off on TV? You know if this is how she is on TV that she is ten times worse in real life. Why does she need the big house when she has just one daughter who has already stated that she is planning to go to the University of Utah? Then she demands every extra option imaginable, she is AWFUL! Robyn offered to be a surrogate for her because she actually bought into Merri's story that she wanted all these kids and wasn't able to have them...well here is her chance and she seems to be passing on Robyn's offer. What difference does it make if Robyn carries it for her since they are "Sister wives"...she is a fraud and a bully. I think Kody is too chicken to dump her and that is partly how they ended up in this situation...fake plygs!

  43. According to Clark County's bldg department, the builder obtained certificates of occupancy for the 4 houses. (I wont link it, but its searchable from the county's site)

Maybe we should start a pool... the person who most closely guesses the day these asshats get evicted wins.

If we all write letters to PETA regarding the poor dog, we might just move that eviction date forward a bit. Does anyone know if DVRing a show adds to the rating count?

  44. The show is dragging out this plot line!!! I'm sick of Meri going on about her need for a wet bar and another room. She can't have more kids so she should take away money from everyone else in the family because of that? It makes no sense. Two of Jenelle's kids may have to share a room because Jenelle is doing the smart thing and trying to save money (or as much money as you can in a situation like this buying all these huge homes) meanwhile Meri has multiple open rooms for no reason, just because she "was supposed" to have more kids... crazy.

    1. It is weird isn't it...From when they first explained their money situation and how they equally divide it all by four I've thought that was so wrong. So basically Merri gets to go shopping whenever she wants and buy whatever, spend it on "crafts" and her one kid while Janelle and Christine scrimp to take care of their six. I'm sure those kids wear hand me downs while the other one, Mariah, gets whatever she wants. I REALLY don't see why Merri thinks she needs that massive house. Its disgusting really when you think about it...they are just a big fraud!

That being said, we did the cutest thing when ours were little.

    1. That is how my father in law arranged his home for my husband and his brother when they were growing up. They loved it. The Browns could find plenty of more practical ways to address their living situation but they won't. They think they are stars and they all have huge entitlement issues. As many others have suggested they should be using their tlc money to pay off the Lehi home or buy something that they can maintain in cash. As many others have suggested a small apartment complex or a row of townhomes would be much better for them. Instead they have opted to go big then go home after these homes are inevitability foreclosed on.

  49. I don't understand why they don't find and buy a large plot of land and pay a builder to build 1 big house like they had in Lehi. 2. I have a feeling these are really not their homes...some kind of rental situation. When the show is done, I am sure they will pack it up and move back to Utah and the Lehi house.

    3. People who keep talking about them getting a loan for a 4-plex have no clue why that's not an option. A 4-plex requires a commercial loan and is a much harder - not easier- loan to qualify for. No way would they ever qualify. Not that i believe for a minute that they actually qualified for these homes either tho.

  51. What financial support has Kody given to the family the past couple of years? TLC will be over soon, the so called jewelry mail order idea will also be over soon. Does Kody expect to declare bankruptcy every few years? What lender would give any of them, (well maybe Janelle) mortgages after they have already failed previously? Do they continue to live on welfare by declaring themselves single Moms with children? I am a taxpayer and I resent having to support those like the Brown family! I have always had to work and save to live, I think the Brown family should work and save also but they won't as long as government welfare and titlements exist that they always used before TLC money. Go back to Lehi, get a double wide and put in back for Robin, get off the freebies Kody!

1 big house??? I don't think so! they are all enjoying their separate houses. Meri & Christine have said so many times! with Janelle seeming to be "schocked" they enjoy living apart and Robyn saying she was "concerned" as they are 1 big happy family that should live together (which BTW was echoing what Kody had just said)!

even in Utah, they all had their own sections of the house, only difference was they were in the same house and saw each other on a daily basis - but they had separate meals even then!

Who is paying for this, and why? How will they pay property taxes, maintenance, utility bills, 20 college educations, new cars every year, multiple vacations, and medical bills?

I like my kitchen, but I love my dining room even more. My dining room is the real heart of my house. It's where we sit down to eat. We regroup over dinner. We set the table for dinner even if all we are having his hamburgers and fries. It might seem like a bit much to some people, but it actually creates a relaxiing atmosphere. I dont' want to see the stove, the sink, the fridge, etc., while I'm trying to enjoy dinner with my family. To me the kitchen reminds me of work even when there is no work to be done in there.

  57. So many great comments here. Those houses, in my opinion of course, look cheap, boring, beige, plain. Of course I live in an area where housing is at a much lower cost with land available, so it's crazy to see someone pay that much for something like that. Again, just my opinion-not really impressed with new houses, they all look alike to me for the most part.
Another thought-when our kids were little (we're in our 50s), we had small houses, our kids shared rooms, our family was very close. As they got older, we got the brilliant (not!) idea to buy a much bigger house (not new, but bigger) In hindsight, it seems to me that our family fell apart a little bit as kids all had their own rooms, every room was far apart, so many big rooms, staircases, etc..everyone could 'hide' away, come and go without notice. I regret this big house.
Now I'm sitting here in this big house all alone. Kids/grandkids all live out of state. I'm stuck cleaning this big place, still does get dirty even with just two of us and pets. Paid for but we'd love to sell when the time is right and get a smaller place like we started with. Ironic. I realize the Browns have a million kids, but they might think about say, in 5 years, how many of them will be adults/in college, etc...might make a difference.

Ok, waiting for the Darger page!! OMG, that show was nuts. Thanks for blog, CJ, you do an amazing job!!

  60. A few things: Growing up, there were 11 people in my family and we lived in what was technically a 2-bedroom rambler house! There were 2 real bedrooms upstairs, and 2 more downstairs, only 1 was "legal" with egress. Then the "sun porch" was converted into a bedroom and I shared a tiny office space that had been carved out of the front of the garage as a bedroom with my sister. There were 2 bathrooms in the house. Oh, the horrors! No wetbar!!

A little psychology on men cheating on their wives. Dr. Phil, et al, always point out that when a person has an affair, it is usually a sign that there's problems in the marriage. So, Kroty and Meri have problems (infertility) and so Kroty legitimizes his cheating by "marrying" Janelle. Another time when affairs happen: when the wife is pregnant. Oh, Kroty goes on to "marry" both Christine and Robyn when the other wives are pregnant, plus he's having marital issues with Meri. So, my take: the Plyg "lifestyle" is just another way of saying, have an affair when the going gets tough, it's all legit!

    1. I think that Merri has more problems than just infertility, she seems like a very difficult person to deal with. Bossy, rude, have you seen her flip out and yell...I mean Janelle says shes abusive and you don't see anyone correcting her, that must mean something. I think your right, Kody has a wandering eye and polygamy is a way to justify it. He is to chicken to break up with Merri. My theory is he is actually happy with Janelle, remove Merri and he would have been happily married to her and lived a regular LDS life. Christine would never have been brought in, possibly Robyn he seems to be into her. Why anyone would want to be in this kind of a mess is beyond me! I think that Merri plays her infertility card to get more attention and sympathy, otherwise she'd just take up Robyn's offer I mean since they are plygs and one big happy family what difference does it make to her if Robyn is the surrogate? Shouldn't matter, she doesn't want anymore kids...I mean the way they divide money up she gets the same amount for her one kid that the others get for their six, why would she want another. She is getting that giant stupid house to fill up with junk. Why the hell would a person who has one kid that is going off to college want a five or six bedroom house? What a pain! But make sure the WETBAR is there so she can drown her sorrows...The fit that she threw about the wet bar is so telling about what is important in her life, her booze...does anyone really blame her?

    2. With Kody's admission to being interested in polygamy even before his LDS mission, his own parents practicing it, at least one brother practicing it and just Kody's nature in general - I seriously doubt if he'd skipped Meri and just married Janelle - he'd still be LDS and monogamous. no way.

BUT i DO think that if he'd never been brought up LDS and instead in a more open /less judgmental environment, he might have been able to own his homosexuality and actually be in a gay monogamous relationship instead. ;')

  61. So, whether a plyg husband as 4 houses or 1 house---where is that ONE PLACE the plyg hubby can "escape" or have some "alone time" or a closet or something to call his very own? All this chasing around from house to house (or bedroom to bedroom) sounds very unsatisfactory to me. Most people I know like to have their little corner, or favorite chair, or a little time to be quiet and alone, or a basement workshop or whatever. Of course, I don't have a lot of sympathy (if any) for a plyg husband's situation since that man has gotten himself willingly into it---still, if I were a plyg husband (which I'll NEVER be), I'd be carving out my own sanctuary in each of those 4 houses---or 1 house.

Aside from the dog drama that I've read about here, what else happened with house decisions that made everyone say, "huh?"

    1. Oh my goodness . . . Well lots of things. The worst offense was he said on national TV that Christine disgusted him when he first met her. She was eating nachos and she disgusted him.

    2. And you didn't notice him being mean to Christine when he was dating Robyn during Christine's pregnancy. Leaving Christine all alone to go on dates with Robyn? Kissing Robyn while Christine was in labor with Truely? Did you not see those episodes?

    3. He openly stated that he only married her to bring "peace" to the family because Merri and Janelle were fighting so much. He stated that she grossed him out when they first met, something about eating nachos...He isn't very nice to her, he treats her like he isn't into her. And yes whilst she was in LABOR he was kissing Robyn and hanging out with her, they weren't even married yet were they? He couldn't have shot her a text? I think he is actually truly happy with Janelle. They already stated that he and Janelle both grew up straight Mormon. That when he got back from his mission his parents has gone into polygamy. He met Merri at the new plyg church and he also already stated that he wasn't really excited to marry her, that it was like so should we just get married then? If he was so happy with her he wouldn't have gone after anyone else, polygamy or not, he would have just put it off. Since Janelle's Mom got into being a plyg late it was probably as new and weird for her as it was for Kody...seems like they are two peas in a pod. He is just too chicken to break it off with Merri, they don't seem like a happy couple just more like friends. So Merri got him into polygamy and legitimized it for him, Janelle is the one he would have just married and been happy with and lived a regular Mormon life, Christine is the poor big girl that he married to make peace and knew she would say yes...Robyn I think he likes and she seems the most adjusted to being a plyg. He seems to be more into her and I thought the extra long honeymoon was in VERY poor taste for a guy with three other wives and so many children, so not cool! He treats Christine bad though to go back to what this is in response too, I feel bad for her, it is so obvious and if we all notice it then you know it is much worse then it appears!

    4. Ya know it seems like the plyg man never "divorces" one of his wives himself. Seems like it's always the "wife" who chooses to leave. I don't think it would kill Kody at all for either (or both) Janelle and Christine to leave really. I think it can be an ego thing for a wife to leave and feel like she let a sister wife that she didn't like ultimately WIN the war. just a thought . . .

    6. I think Janelle got into polygamy because she was looking for something fulfilling. Remember that she lived in a teepee on Kody's family ranch as an experiment. I think that polygamy may have been an experiment but then she got pregnant (many times over) and it wasn't like she could leave. she is devoted to her kids and I think she feels that kody is a good dad (or more like a big playmate to the kids). Maybe opposites do attract and she and kody would be together in the regular LDS, but I see them more as friends.

They've already made it clear that Janelle and Kody are the bread winners. She is demanding this giant house with every option possible and why? To compete with the others? They are getting it so she must too even though she doesn't work...I bet that Jenelle probably had to cash out her retirement or something when they split Utah for Vegas. I hear you if you want a McMansion with the all important "wet bar" and you work for it then awesome...I don't see that here, just a bunch of ridiculous competition. If they had any sense they would by a big piece of property somewhere and custom build a single house that can accomodate all of them. Their Polygamy seems like a fraud, they are just four families with one thing in common. They are laying it on thick for the show...

  65. I don't get why the common theme is we need a big house so we can have our "business" there. It doesn't make sense to put a "business" in someone's home in a gated community. Im sure they could have all had 2,000 sq feet homes (since they refuse to live together) that would have saved in taxes and monthly heating/cool expenses then spent the extra money on having a "business space" in town where there is actual foot traffic, the ability to market, and close to post-office for shipping. I'm sure people would frequent a storefront just to get a glimpse at them peddling the jewerly or green slime which might equate to pity sales. It seems like Jenelle wants to convert the dining room to her office because it's close to the entryway, so if she has clients they don't have to walk through her whole house to get to "the office" From the way they are talking Meri's house is going to be a shipping warehouse and Jenelle is going to be running a realty business. Jenelle isn't going to look professional with a bunch of kids running all around the house, and if the plan is her and Christine using the same office for "the business" then they have two houses full of kids running around while they try to work out of a converted dining room, that doesn't spell well run business to me at all.

    1. You had it right when you said that it doesn't make sense to put a business in someone's home in a gated community. And making the dining room into a conference room for clients just doesn't make sense because it is directly opposite the great room and it doesn't have doors. So clients can't help but hear and see her kids coming and going.

Do they understand that the gate is to keep people who don't live there OUT? I would be more than upset if I bought a house in that subdivision and found out later the Browns would be having their so called clients coming in and out past the gate. Is there even a call box or would they just prop the gate open when necessary? (breaking the gate by the way)

Those homes are just way over the heads of the wives, just like the Clampetts when they moved to Beverly Hills to that mansion with the cement pond!

    2. I feel they're making their houses to "house" business things, but that is also ALL tax deductible. The Browns must think none of us are
      educated. OMG!

    3. The "businesses" are all mail-order crap, so it's no problem to be in a gated community. Only person coming in is the mailman. Except for the real estate, which is all done outside. Again, no problem.

  66. Well they have their LEHI house.....so when the derailment happens and the show is over....back to that "vicious, hick state" of Utah the Browns will go! They will settle right back in...Jennelle and Christine with their LV realtor licenses in hand.
