Janelle Schriever Brown - one of our fav's on "Sister Wives"

Janelle Schriever Brown

What have we gleaned about Janelle? Not as much as we would like! Janelle

*Comes from a long line of LDS Mormon on both sides.

*Graduate of Bountiful High School

*She was married to Meri’s brother Adam Barber from ’88-’90.

*Obviously is college educated and so is her mother

*Appears pragmatic and level headed about some things; oblivious to others.

*Runs the finances for the household

*Seems to be more of a friend to Kody- at least pre Robyn – seems he leans to her for decisions. Kody calls her his “best friend”. Could be called the head of the operations.

*We’re not sure of her religious standing, how important that is to her. She says her children are free to choose their lifestyle. I think she married more for the family than the religion.

*Give Christine a lot of credit for the child rearing, but appears to be a great mom.

*I like her, I like listening to her more than any of the other wives.

*Would love to see her lose weight, not for looks, but for health.

*Lost many of her family members by joining the polygamist “lifestyle”

* Was very disturbed about the move at first – or so the THOUGHT until we saw her laugh about it on the Access Hollywood clip.

*Likes to camp. Got me on that one. She looks like an indoors gal to me, but says she prefers the outdoors. Not Me! I’ll take the Hilton anyday!

*Gets to visit her mom, (Sheryl Usher Schriever Fryer)  and Kody’s dad, Winn, when going to Wyoming, since their married - that’s kinda cool or weird, depending how you see it.

*I've never found Sheryl's parents- need them for the genealogy.

*Mother - Sheryl Lee Usher Shriever Fryer, now a wife to Winn Brown

*Father: Robert Alan Schriever, died in 1972

*Had a step father – Merlin Fryer.

*Sister, Carrie

*Had a Company called the E Z Pantry. Also worked for the Govt. in Utah.

*Says fun, whimsical things on twitter.

*Her tree has no polygamists. All roots flow back to Sweden and Denmark, possibly why she has the fair skin and blonde hair.

* I think she is VERY guarded in her words and her friendships. My guess, it would take a lot for her to trust you.

* I hope she's deciding she wants more out of her relationship with Kody., She deserves it after 6 kids and a majority financial helper. I hope we see her get more kisses and snuggles this season.

*I think she's got some GREAT KIDS!

 Grandmother Margaret Pearl Schofield Schriever

Margaret Pearl Schofield Schriever 9/30/1916 ~ 3/14/2007 BOUNTIFUL - Margaret S. Schriever, age 90, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 in Sandy, Utah. She was born September 30, 1916 in Salt Lake City the daughter of Percy B. and Agnes S. Schofield. She attended East High School and graduated from the University of Utah at 19 years of age. She married LaVerl L. Schriever September 1, 1938 after falling in love with him many years before probably because of his Model A Roadster. They had three sons and a daughter. She taught kindergarten and first grade more than 35 years. She taught generations of Bountiful kids at West Bountiful and Hannah Holbrook Elementary Schools. She loved to read, but her favorite pastime was to "worry" about her family and they have given her plenty to worry about. She gave service constantly to family and friends. A single request by one of her family members or others and, without hesitation, she would drive cross country to help out and do something for them. As she aged it was difficult for her to accept anyone doing something for her, thinking she should not be putting people out! Margaret is survived by her son, Jerry; daughter, Suzanne; 13 grandchildren; and 38 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband, La Verl; sisters, Norma and Velda; brother, John; sons, Richard and Robert; and daughter-in-law, Mary. Very recently, she also lost her lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Mary S. Schriever. We all know they could not wait to get back together again. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2007, 11 a.m. at the Bountiful Tabernacle (Main and Center Street in Bountiful, Utah). Friends and family may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Tuesday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery. (Source: Deseret News: 17 Mar 2007)

Grandfather LaVerl L. Schriever
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, LaVerl L. Schriever left his pain filled body, June 27, 2002 to return to his Heavenly Father and to be united with his family members who have preceded him. He was born April 25, 1912 to William H. and Bertha Nelson Schriever in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from West High School and went on to the University of Utah. He married Margaret Schofield in the Salt Lake Temple, September 1, 1938. They made their home in East Millcreek until they moved to Bountiful after LaVerl's employment took him to Hill Air Base. During the ensuing year he continued to become a master wood-worker; producing lovely buildings, exquisite furniture and furnishings, paintings and carvings that will continue to delight friends and family. LaVerl was a faithful member of the LDS Church and enjoyed the blessings of his participation. He shared his life with four children: Richard (deceased), Robert (deceased), Jerrold and Suzanne, their special mates, 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1, 2002 at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 51 S. Main. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Monday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery. (Source: Deseret News)

I wonder if she ever reconciled with her father’s family. In my viewpoint, if they didn’t, that’s their loss. She has beautiful children. How would they know a different life if shunned just for being born? That is very anti christian, to tell the truth. That’s about it for now! Can you think of any other items we know about Janelle?

  1. Janelle was the hands down favorite in the beginning. I think her little blip on Access Hollywood shocked everyone. time will tell if she's as solid of a person as we thought.

  2. Janelle seems as beautiful inside as out. She is extremely smart too. I would love to hear more from Janelle and about Janelle in the future. She has to be the most level headed of the whole group

  3. Jannelle and Meri are definitely my favorites. Jannelle for her maturity in remarks, seems to actually think before she says things. (Some people NEVER learn to do that). Meri for being so selfless to think of others before herself, I hope that is indeed for her love of others, and not because of a feeling of insecurity. Both are beautiful women, Kody should feel very blessed.

  4. I think Janelle is very guarded. Your not going to see her act an idiot on twitter like some people. She like Kody a whole lot more than the lets on, and this marriage has rocked her world in many ways. I always trusted her, so I'll give her the blip on Access Hollywood, but what about the diary and how mad she was they moved? I thought is was all planned? I hope she goes back to old Janelle, and stops playing the game with them.
I really would kike to see her happy but now the boats rocked, I don't know what we'll see.

  8. That's Janelle's (and I am not putting you down, honey, at all) really insight to me.
Although, you have to admit, having 6 kids and working a desk job didn't help.
I don't care what she says, standing in those pics has to be torture. I think that's why there are so few of her. She's sad. And I love Janelle. I seriously think she's heartbroken over Robyn. NO MATTER what she says.

  10. I really wish that Janelle would have another baby. I think she'd be so happy to stay at home with one. And, I think it would be fun for her, Christine and Robyn had one together!

  11. I like Janelle most out of all of the wives but only because she's pragmatic.

But I have to wonder about her financial savvy. I mean, common- how many bankruptcies and social services benefits??? Gimme a break.
