Why There Isn’t Going to Be a Darger Family Reality Show on TLC

In From Faith Goes Pop: After thewell known polygamist family the Dargers appeared on Sister Wives last season, it seemed like TLC was introducing them to the audience as prep for a show of their own. However, according to family patriarch Joe Darger says that it isn’t happening. According to Joe, TLC rejected their show My Three Wives, saying that it was too similar to Sister Wives. That’s pretty weird, considering the network had already filmed and aired commercials for the show before making the decision. He’s also backtracking a little now, saying the network was interested but that the family decided to remain off TV to protect their privacy.

Brown Family Mission Statement

They've taken the advice of Big Pappa Joe, but will they follow through?

Of course this is all in fun, but what would your Mission Statement be for the Browns.

Mine would be more of a list for Kody Brown.

In my head it look like a blackboard, where he has to write out sentences.

1. I will keep my hands and feet to myself.

2. I will respect others.

3. I will take turns and share with my family.

4. I will put the needs of my family over my wants.

5. I will get a real job, spend less and save more.

6. I will remember to be a HUMBLE servant of my religious beliefs, and promise to never yell out "we're polygamists!" again like it's a High School sports team. 

7. My hair will take a backseat to my children's' needs and airtime.

8. I will quit alternating between blaming others for my families disorganization and squawking that you want to bark orders and be obeyed. Be the head of the family, and mature about it.

9. I will behave as well as my children do. And remember to be thankful for the children I have-and spend more time with them.

10.  Quite simply, I will grow up or change TV shows and put on a Peter Pan outfit.

If Kody would change his behavior, the entire dynamics of the family would greatly benefit. After all, he is the HEAD of the family, planet, universe.....at least in his eyes.

For Meri I have basically on point to make.  If your family is your mission, remember this, Meri. Repeat after me:

I will remember I wanted to follow the polygamist religion of my family, and could have had Kody one way or the other. I chose this path. I wanted this path and talked Kody into it. Kody would have married me and also stayed in the LDS. I CHOSE this, I will treat the other women like I should. I will also quit spending money on ridiculous things and save for the children of this family. Walk the Walk.

I will now start behaving like an adult and follow the simple rules of kindergarten.

Meri, you seem to be in the orange or red all the time! Turn that frown upside down!

Joe Darger and his 3 wives interviewed by Time Reporter TIME writer, Belinda Luscombe, learns what life is like for the outspoken, polygamist  family, the Dargers.

 

A little different than most I've seen, interesting thoughts to comment on. Time interview with the Dargers hit the newsstand Aug. 6.

WOW!!! The Darger's "Love Times Three"

Joe Darger made our day awhile back by tweeting about us to Kody Brown. We have not spent a great deal of time on the Darger's, seems that they were a blander version of the Brown's, just looking for their day in the sun.  (or profits $$) 

But a little bird told us that the Darger's snooze-fest of a book has possibly a lie in it. More importantly, a BIG one.  Which made our ears perk up like a cat that hears tuna. 

I have NOT read the book. After having everyone I know tell me that it would work better than an Ambien to put me to sleep, why would I bother? So, friends, you must put this rumor to rest for me. 

Here's what we were told:

There is a LIE in the book "Love Times Three"

Joe Darger's third wife was the former wife of Dennis Matthews, a key figure in the AUB Virginia Hill matter.

 In the book "Love Times Three," Joe Darger claims that his wife Valerie was the former polygamous wife of a man named Donald who had a lot of gambling debts. 

That's not true, according to our sources. 

Actually the third Darger wife Valerie was the former polygamous wife of the infamous Dennis Matthews of the AUB polygamy group. Dennis stole money from Virginia Hill to the tune of over 1 million dollars, then forced his wives to live in trailers with no heat and no light and they had to dumpster dive in order to eat while he scrounged to pay Virginia Hill off...

Allegedly, Valerie became "unsealed" from Dennis when Dennis failed to support his wives. Dennis Matthews was almost charged with criminal neglect for leaving his abandoned wives in cold trailers.

Joe Darger, would you want to clarify this for us?

Just getting ready to watch this- will add my comment later.They are certainly trying to steal the spotlight of the Browns. Troy said their book was a bore- let's see if this is!

'Love Times Three': Inside a Polygamous Marriage - ABC News

THE DARGERS - They say they inspired the show "Big Love" that's news to me!  I haven't been following them, so I am sure many of our commentors will have plenty to say!
