Whatever....
Second, that Kody is a pompous ass -- well, alright, we already knew that one.
And third, that Kody is not smart financially and is leading his merry wives down the road to financial ruin.
So let's get started, shall we?
For what it's worth, Kody does not want Logan to go away to college. He wants Logan to stay in Las Vegas, and go to UNLV instead. Logan still wants to visit Southern Utah University in Cedar Ridge and remains strong against his father's attempts to bribe him with his own room and an office in Janelle's McMansion (still pending credit approval, of course).
I'm left wondering, with a household of 16 other children, why Kody is all hot and bothered about his son leaving home for college? Wouldn't he want Logan to experience college life away from home, to be on his own? I mean, I remember back in the day, where if you were a college freshman you had to be in a dorm that first year, so you could savor college life to the fullest. But Kody just doesn't see it that way. In fact, Kody insults both Utah by calling them a hick community AND Janelle when she expresses concern for Logan's religious direction, preferring that if he does decide on SUU, that he turn to the LDS church for spiritual guidance.
Kody screams at Janelle "...why are you pushing him to the Mormon church?...he's a plig kid..." Even though Janelle explains that Logan has a better chance of keeping true to his mormon fundamentalist roots by associating with LDS'ers, Kody's not convinced. "...[Mormons] can't even tolerate us !" he hisses to Janelle. And then to Logan, Kody issues his warning shot "I still have a several days I can try to convince you to stay here." Logan, shooting right back simply says " As soon as I'm eighteen, it's my life."
Fun times in the Kody Brown/Janelle parental unit home.
As Logan and his sisters start their drive to Utah, Kody explains his emotional anxiety over Logan leaving home. Kody fears he hasn't given Logan a strong religious foundation. Ya think, Kody? Being that Logan basically took over the father figure role starting back in Lehi, Kody not only dropped the ball on Logan's religious direction, but definitely dropped the ball on being a strong father figure for Janelle's entire parental unit. "I'm concerned whether I've done right by him" Yep you ought to be concerned. You're not looking too good in the Father Dearest department right now.
Back in Utah, we see the Logan and company touring the SUU campus. They even have lunch - wait, is that edamame they're eating? Anyway, Logan starts to weigh the plus and minuses of SUU. Smaller class sizes, away from family distractions and family control. Basically, the same stuff most teens worry about. But strangely, he doesn't mention out of state tuition. Hmmm.....
By the end of this road trip, SUU is looking good to him.
As the scene switches back to Las Vegas, we see Kody and his wives walking taking a tour through one of the model homes with Mona, the real estate lady. These McMansions are HUGE...Christine hears angels singing, Kody sees where the Thanksgiving table can be placed, and Meri just adores the tub. While Kody acknowledges that Meri has expensive tastes, there is still one wife who has kept strangely quiet through it all. "This house is ...too much" says Janelle. "Holy Hell, how are we ever going to afford this? My budget cannot afford this house."
Well, at least someone in the Brown clan is thinking rationally.
But leave it to Kody to put his own unique spin on the situation. "I'm looking at this home and I'm going Holy Cow! I've got to start believing that I deserve more than a dirt farm." Dear Lord, the man has gone cuckoo -- he must be drinking his own koolaid now. Could someone please tell me how Kody Brown deserves to have not one McMansions but four? WITHOUT A REAL JOB??? You know, maybe Kody should be on one of those TLC shows like Hoarders, only his affliction is having champagne tastes with rain water income - these jokers can't even afford tap water anymore!
Now I understand why he has put his three wives through bankruptcy in the last 20 years. He's following the 'psychology' of "...if you can't believe that you are going to be there, then you never will be." Now, I'm not quite sure where "there" is, but I have a feeling it's somewhere close to Bankruptcy Boulevard and Pauper Road. Good luck, ladies...
Next up, Kody and his merry wives take a ride to the jeweler in charge of Robyn's Sister Wife's Closet creations. This is just a sample of their conversation: They are kewl, it's kewl. Wow, that's kewl. How kewl. It's a hit. How about a bro ring? Forgetaboutit!
After the jewelers, Kody and his merry wives meet up at their favorite mexican food restaurant. They decide to put down "a chunk" of money as earnest money on building the four McMansions and of course, Kody wants to tell the kids that they are making an offer on the homes.
They are going to gamble that in 30 days they will have financing for the 4 McMansions. And they WILL succeed, even if they have to forgo vacations. After a particularly grueling session of Kody haranguing the wives to accept his wishes, including the admission that in the Lehi days, they were so poor Christine didn't have enough money to visit her father, and that Meri not only gets flack from Janelle about having a big house with only 1 child, but that her family also thinks she's unreasonable living in a large house basically alone.
Robyn with a booboo on her lip |
Figure 8 Productions must really hate Kody, because he is looking like a total irresponsible ass this episode. He totally lost me when he said to Christine to just save her grocery money if she wants to go on a vacation. And Robyn? JUST SHUT UP!!
Logan and his parents take a short trip to the UNLV campus for a tour. Janelle's impressed by the tour guide - she thought she was cute. Logan was impressed that how pretty the campus was, once you got past the initial buildings. And Kody remarked how close UNLV was to the Vegas strip. It's actually closer to the airport, but I guess that doesn't matter to a salacious minded Kody Brown.
Back to the cul-de-sac property, we have the ceremonial signing of the earnest money checks and contracts. Done deal. The lots are assigned to the wives and Kody tries to justify his presence by saying it was like he was signing a check for those 4 houses. Whatever dude...
The scene of Kody running in what will be their backyards with the sappy music playing in the background just drove home the point of just how large those lots are, and how large those houses will be and will there be enough yard available for a Big Love style backyard. Something tells me Kody will still find an excuse to drive from one house to the other each night.
Later, the family went to Janelle's house for Garrison's birthday. After everyone donned their UNLV t-shirts, they surprised Logan with chants of UNLV! UNLV! and then Kody tried to surprise the kids with the news about the earnest money. The kids were not impressed, even when Kody says he was 99% sure they will get the houses. Poor dears apparently have been there, done that with Kody before on his pipedreams. They were not amused.
Oh yes, Logan made a decision - he's going to UNLV! Logan, if I were you I'd get a dorm room on campus. You won't regret it!
Where can one find the entire Natalie Morales interview of the Brown family which took place after this show? I've looked for it everywhere but have only been able to find a snippet of it.
ReplyDeletefor some reason neither itunes or amazon.com has that episode. I wonder if it's because it was thru Natalie Morales from NBC. Have you checked NBC website?
DeleteThe interview will be airing again on Wednesday at 7pm and again at midnight.
DeleteI wonder if Meri is kicking herself for wanting Kody to meet and marry Robyn. Robyn bugs the shizz out of me!
ReplyDeleteAnd who cares if Meri only has one kid. She deserves what everyone else gets. She has to put up with the excuse of a husband like the the other three.
Well Robyn doesn't put up with him just puts out for him. Ugh!
Btw, I love your blog!
Anony6:29 - There is some sense to arguing that Meri deserves equal treatment, but on the other hand, an unconventional marriage such as theirs cannot be the way you say for the following reason. There are 16 young mouths to feed and 16 educations to provide. In terms of simple math, if there is 000,000 to buy four houses and it's divided equally, not equitably, then that means those with more children (Janelle and Christine) will be more cramped, and therefore it's not equal for them. So by having the same size house, Mariah is treated better than the other children. And by taking an equal portion, Meri is really taking more, because that could mean one or more children eats less, Christine travels less, one or more children get less of an education. There cannot be equal distribution in that family, only equitable.
DeleteHey, we don't know the inside story ... maybe they are buying all those houses cash. Fine. Great. But put your collective and diverse heads together and find a way to keep the cash flowing. But if one of the children must get less because Meri is standing on equality, then she needs to re-examine her conscience on this one.
I say it again. Janelle took something Meri thought was hers when she gave Kody his sons, and Meri has been taking from Janelle ever since.
Oh yeah, don't forget, poor Mariah needs a room with no direct sunlight. I couldn't believe Meri said that. Like, what about the rest of the kids? I'm sure they would like that luxury. But oh no, Meri needs a lot where Mariah can have the best room with no sun directed into her room. What a bunch of crap.
DeleteI couldn't believe that Meri said that about Mariah needing a room without direct sunlight. In a house with 7 rooms you'd think there'd be one without direct sunlight, no matter what lot it was in! Sheesh!
Deletethat was an "Everybody, don't forget about special me, First Wife Mother Meri, with only one child" attention needy moment.
Delete@ Catriona You said it extremely right in your comment, " I say it again. Janelle took something Meri thought was hers when she gave Kody his sons, and Meri has been taking it out of Janelle ever since. RIGHT ON !! Well said. Bravo!!
DeleteI am crying because I want a wet bar.
DeleteUm, wait, no, I mean... I am crying because I have a healthy and loving child.
Um, wait, no...
Maybe I didn't watch the same episode, but for me, Meri was basically saying that she didn't need a big house, didn't want one, and that she was against this lot deal because of the fact that Kody felt she wanted the huge house like all his other wives.
DeleteBut in reality, I think the thought of having such a large house with so many empty rooms was just going to drive home the fact she didn't have children to fill that space.
Whoever noted the simmilarity between Kody and Charles Manson's eyes is right on correct. The picture in this review is especially proof of that fact. Same wild, manic stare. Same lack of any warmth at all. Rodent eyes...nasty and deliberate.
ReplyDeleteCJ, I am glad you mentioned the annoying chorus of "kewl-kewl-kewl."
I thought I was just being overly picky. They sounded like preteens oohing and ahhing over a new hairband.
Ditto about Robchin's lip sores....not appealing no matter how much hair and makeup is done.
Great review, great pics !!!
Instead of purchasing McMansions, I beg of this family that they get to the doctor and start a regimen of Acyclovir immediatly, If I have to look at one more bleeding, oozing mass on Herpalina's lip, I think I am going to scream. Great Blog-who could watch this hot mess without it?
ReplyDeleteIs there a minimum house size required for these lots? Why is a 4 bedroom house perceived as "small" by Meri? Get what you need. I would liove a 7 bedroom house too but with 2 kids is that what I need?
ReplyDeleteI seriously wonder why they couldn't get two lots and build one big McMansion that basically consists of 4 apartments? Kinda like their _hick_ Lehi home.
Delete(Can someone take away the letter/number verification thingie?)
Lobotomized - what you described requires commercial zoning as well as a commercial loan. (4 units or more.)
DeleteHow many alleged struggling, single moms have $5,000 dollars just hanging around to use for an *earnest deposit* ???
ReplyDeleteHave no idea how the current available funds (book sales, TLC salaries, LIV monies) are being doled out to each wife, but it seems that each wife must be currently sitting on a slush fund to be able to cut a 5 grand check just like that.
And.....if this pipe dream goes through, each wife will have her name attached to any future defaults on said mortgages. And what funds will furnish these bigger and better McMansions and pay the increased utilities and taxes??
Meanwhile Kody doesn't have to bring out HIS checkbook (if he even has one)...and his name will be clear of any potential future negative fallout??
This guy is such a sly parasite and fraud.
I wonder if every wife will add Kody onto the deed/mortgage? Hmmm.
Deletethis loser has it made, they feed him, house him, have sex with him...
Deletesad very very sad that these woman would that for this loser.
When your religion pretty much consists of Male Worship (stated politely), is it a surprise that women will do anything to keep a man, any man around?
DeleteI missed that. Is meri's house going to have 7 bedrooms????? Why in the world would she need 7 bedrooms? Maybe shes going to start a bed and breakfast for polyg families to visit. Hell it least that would bring bring in some income and get her off her lazy ass. Great recap. I just love this blog!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe needs a big house so she can have a "WET BAR" I guess she is going to start a drinking career.
Delete4jphillipa, my thoughts exactly! I have 2 kids and a husband and would not need a 7 bedroom house! This only really bothers me because Meri feels she deserves this big house (my guess is because she doesn't want the other wives to have something bigger and better than her)when Janelle said there were times she didn't know if she could feed her kids! I'm sorry, but they've all been saying they are a team, a family, in it together, etc. so why aren't any of these other Browns (like the father of these kids!!) care that children are going hungry?? Kody says he's the common denominator in this situation and I agree, he is the reason all these kids are suffering.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing that bugged me, did you hear Robin say "kids are hard work, they can be a burden....". OMG that pissed me off! Don't keep having kids if you can't handle it! Kids don't ask to be born so when you do decide to have one, don't say they are at times burdens. Hard work - yes. Burdens - no. I wonder what Meri thought when she heard her say that.
One last thing, do you guys think the Browns ever read this blog? I wonder what they would think? I'm sure they sneak onto their computers on their "off nights" and read up on themselves when they can. IMO for relative every day people (minus the polygamy part) to suddenly have an element of fame it would be so tempting to know what people are saying about you (good and bad).
I can't can't can't get over the audacity of these people and their need for ridiculously oversized houses. I wish these people would understand what actual wealth is. I wish they would have a conversation with families that ended up in homeless shelters because they didn't limit their spending. Ya things are great now but EVERYONE knows as soon as this show is over those houses will be going into foreclosure because except for maybe Janelle noone in that house has been taught what a work ethic is. I mean look at the teenagers not a single one of them has a part-time job. Not one person in that whole house has an actual job!! Just because you have five or six kids doesn't mean you need a house with 7 bedrooms. What a bunch of delusional idiots...exactly why the US is in the mess it's in.
ReplyDeleteAlso I'm over Meri and her pity party of not having more kids. You were blessed with a healthy child stop bitching because your husbands has an affinity for concubines. I feel like they want to wring every bit of public sympathy out of their audience purly for monetary gain and it's getting a little old.
DeleteOn a side note I found a great way to prevent cold sores is rubbing the area with ice once you feel one is coming on and applying polysporin or believe it or not mouthwash to the area helps at the very least with the size and length of outbreak because you're not really pulling of the wealthy TV star image with those plastered all over your lips.
Actually, some of the teens did have part-time jobs. I believe it was Aspyn who worked over the summer at an attorney's office to save up for her first car.
DeleteThat being said, it actually makes the parents seems worse if the kids have a better work ethic and more understanding of the relationship between working and receiving money for said work.
I think the kids probably don't have jobs because they don't want daddy dearest to start skimming from their paycheck like he does their hot german cereal.
DeleteSomeone who has shown no financial sense in having already bankruptcy and no real jobs - should have a 7 bedroom house makes NO sense!
DeleteYou got it, oh pleeeezzzze. Affording a house means making the payments for the next thirty years. In the case of an interest only loan it means making the payments for, oh, just the next infinity years. Basic math and logic. Certainly the idea you only have to "qualify for financing" is a big part of why the housing market crashed so hard. (Oh and the minor matter of water, electricity, property tax, and all - you kind of need to afford those payments too and they never go away.)
DeleteKodturd is right, he doesn't deserve a dirt farm...he deserves less! I'm so sick of these frauds. For years, they've lived off the rest of us, taking welfare, foodstamps, filing bankruptcy because of their lifestyle choice. NOW they have the audacity to think they "deserve" to live in not one, but 4!7 bedroom homes!!!???? Sure, they may make $ on exposing their sad, abusive lives on TV, selling their book, their multi level marketing scheme and their junk jewelry to their adoring (mindless sheeple) fans right now, but what about thinking about their future, when the gravy train comes to a crashing halt? I wish the system that they've abused would some how tell them nope..no coming back you abusers.. we are on to you!
ReplyDeleteKody is a disgusting, narcassistic, mysogynist pig. He really doesn't even seem to care that his true colors are showing more and more with each episode. The verbal abuse that he outwardly gives Christine is probably nothing compared to what goes on when the cameras are off. Meri and her passive aggressive attacks on the others because of her greed over common sense.
The continual Herpes outbreaks in this family are unreal, maybe they can parlay that into a contract advertising for Abreva?
What a mess this whole bunch are. I think that TLC should get ready to do a sequel with Dr. Phil...or at the least get that shrink that Bethenny is always crying to.
I just watched Sunday's and I have to comment on one thing that has really annoyed me. Everyone keeps using the word "Deserve". Meri "deserves" a big house. Christine thinks the family "deserves" these homes to bring them together. I know I'm going to receive a lot of flack here but deserving something doesn't always mean you get it. This whole episode was so much about entitlement. They feel they are entitled to these things. When Christine said (referring to the homes) it's only partly about the finances, I wanted to throw my TV out the door! I'm sorry but there are a lot of people who would love to have a large home like the Brown's think they're getting but they have the common sense to buy something they can afford.
ReplyDeleteI agree with 4jphillips about Meri's 7 bedroom house. She just doesn't need it. Kody was the one who kept pushing it. He clearly wants 4 mansions to brag about but the houses will ultimately leave them house poor.
It just burns me up that some of us hardworking people actually work and earn what we have and these bozos think they're entitled because they chose to have such a large family.
OK, climbing off my soapbox.
Completely agree with how annoying their sense of entitlement sounds and how pathetic and manipulative does Kody come off crying about how they need all these businesses so that they'll be able to pay for all those houses! Like he wants people to feel sorry for him so they buy their crappy ass jewlery so that they could all be together because they cannot possilbly all be together in anything less than a 7 bedroom mansion per family. Yes my heart just breaks for them!NOT!!
DeleteI totally agree with you, East Coast Girl. They only "deserve" what they can purchase through their own hard work. The fact that they're being asked to put 40% down on an interest-only loan clearly indicates the bank doesn't think they "deserve" traditional financing.
Delete5 double wides. I per adult and kody can take janelle and Christians older ones to even out the number of kids per trailer.
DeleteHeck, I would even appreciate (Heck I think I even DESERVE it but I have a J-O-B) a one bedroom condo. (That my husband and I plan to share with my very pregnant best friend and soon after baby)
DeleteWhy does the KodyKrew need 28 bedrooms?
Why do I think about these people so much? The reality is that I think they should buy whatever house they want and can afford. They are making money from TLC. That money won't last forever, so they need to invest in something viable to fill the gap when TLC is gone. Hopefully they are planning something better than My Sister Wife's Closet.
ReplyDeleteLogan will be 18, he's popular on the show, therefore it makes sense that he stay in the area. Truth be told, I'd rather see him adjusting to life and meeting girls who are not polygamously inclined, and how all that works. Which is my total fascination with this show in the first place: how do they make it work on any level. They do and they don't.
Yesterday I was furious at Kody Brown for being so emotionally abusive to Christine. I still am, but today I'm back to being open-minded about their lifestyle (for them, not me, not ever). Disclaimer: I have a gem of a husband who is just my hero every day, so I just wouldn't share him. But I didn't grow up in their environment so who knows what I'd think and do.
I am thoroughly convinced however, that Meri revealed her real issue and at whom she is most mad at. Janelle took what Meri thought was hers ... the coveted place of mother to Kody's first son, and what a gem that son is. Hunter is also shaping up nicely. And Meri has now been taking from Janelle whatever she can.
I know that sounds mean. I'm sorry.
They don't need to buy a house, they still have one, in Lehi.
DeletePerfect point! That's exactly the crux of the issue here with Meri. She's bitter, so to punish Janelle she brings on Christine, then when that's not working she brings in Robyn.
DeleteI'm sick of their entitlement. I used to sell real estate and have seen some pretty creative financing, but if you can only get a 40% down, interest-only loan, that should be a HUGE STOP sign that maybe you shouldn't be taking out the loan.
4 double wides on a lot with one community room at the center would be more than what they "deserve"
Cameltoeboy and his little harem must have really pissed off TLC or the production company that puts on their little show because every single week, they are being portrayed more and more greedy. By the end of this season, if there is one person who thinks that the brown adults deserve anything, I'd be surprised. The camera man gets cameltoeboy every time he scowls at his wives; likewise, he gets Meri every time she has that bullish look at Janelle. Also, the heart-to-hearts are, I think, more about the camera guy getting Christine's look of please bitch, I know you didn't just say that. Even RNC's kids are being portrayed as these hyper active, impulsive and out of control little kids, which probably isn't true at all. It is clear which wives the camera people like and that's Janelle and her kids because they are always portrayed in a really good light. Meri's daughter is portrayed as a control freak like her mother and even Christine's kids come across a little hyper and out of control. So, I think the camera people are made at all the adults but Janelle. Kudos to the camera people for catching cameltoeboy looking like an arrogant ass and RNC looking like an opportunists and Meri a bully. If that isn't what they had intended to do, whoops...better go back to camera school.
ReplyDeleteand the camera man has gotten the kids on more than one occasion scoffing at Kodturds's pipe dreams!
DeleteI think the problem is they DONT think they are greedy...
DeleteYOU work you pay for things, you dont WORK you get nothing...
I think that is a great idea a big ol trailer and load them all into it.
The cameramen don't call the shots. They shoot film and lots of it. They get everything. It is the producers who edit a storyline. No doubt they exaggerate some of it, and lessen other pieces, but all-in-all they are probably tracking the drama that they can count on, which is what is continuous. "I'm sorry if you think I took something that belongs to you." Wow, that was so revealing. First of all, Meri is not sorry. Second, that just is a totally reflective mindset on Meri's part. As first wife, Meri was to provide Kody a son or three. She didn't. She hasn't. Janelle did, and fine one at that. And Kody acknowledges it was his motive in marrying her, and acknowledges her success in doing it. Indeed, she's exceeded expectations. This is the crux of Meri's anger. She is the one who says "it makes us better." It doesn't make Meri better; it's made her bitter. Meri truly feels that Janelle took something that belonged to her.
DeleteWhat does Meri mean when she says that polygyny makes them "better"? Better than those who don't practice it? Considering that 99% of this nation doesn't practice polygamy, that's a pretty arrogant opinion to have.
DeleteHey, Meri? Different does not always mean better. Sometimes the majority doesn't partake in an activity because they've determined it doesn't work. We're not scared, inferior or sinful. We just know your scheme doesn't work, and we see the proof of that by watching your own clan.
And mainstream LDS has come to that very same conclusion.
DeleteI was really disturbed by Kodster's attempt to talk Logan into UNLV. The shirts were ridiculous, not to mention expensive! If you have that big a family what are you doing wasting $100-$200 in shirts & hats to try to convince your oldest to stay at home so dad doesn't have to do all of the parenting?
ReplyDeleteThe guilt trip was insane. Totally not appropriate.
Kodster is doing that whole "The Secret" mentality with the houses and you know it's going to fail. It's a total set up for the TV show and GOOD FOR THE KIDS for realizing that their parents are full of poo when it comes to promises.
Also - seriously, just get everyone an RX for Valtrex. You're on TV!!!! Come on!! Seriously!?!?!
I'm sure they got those UNLV shirts for free, just like everything else. And I bet they get at least a huge discount at that Mexican restaurant.
DeleteOne other thing -- there's another blog out there (not entirely devoted to Sister Wives and nowhere near as good as this one) on which the writer/reviewer is always totally in sympathy with Meri. She even had a poll up where you were supposed to vote on whether Christine and Janelle are too mean to Meri.
Anon-12:51pm - what is the other blog called? Do you have a link? I would love to see how others are defending these people! Meri is definitely my least favourite.
DeleteHollywoodlife.com. They maybe exchanging sympathy for "exclusives."
DeleteI think next we will see a book from Kody that is a version of the Secret. That seemed to be what he was spewing when he was talking about how you have to "believe" in your dream, etc.. There is absolutely no practicality to this family whatsoever. I was very confused by their conversation at the restaurant. Meri's passive aggressive pouting session made me wonder just how these finances are being divided. IF they all are equally receiving money and have their own funds, then why would Meri care what others thought of her getting the large home as well. So she goes back to how she was basically picked on about getting her big rental home. Not understanding that Janelle was trying to figure out how they were going to cover the rent on 4 homes, 4 sets of utility bills, and all that jazz. THIS is what Janelle was concerned about. She had to shoulder the burden of figuring out how in the world they were going to pay for everything, when they first arrived to Vegas. If this lifestyle is about all co-parenting and being one unit, then why the division.
ReplyDeleteI also have to comment on Kody revealing that he goes 5 days sometimes without seeing the others. Ummm...how hard would it be to walk down the block and say goodnight to the other children? I mean SERIOUSLY....you can't walk your lazy butt next door and say hi and bye to the kids who haven't seen you for DAYS when you are on the same block. WTH? I can't fathom knowing that my Dad was just a few doors down and he can't come and tell me goodnight? So that even furthers my belief that this kumbaya lifestyle is non-existent. When they showed him driving by the one house without a glance over, after revealing that he goes that long sometimes without seeing the others, it made me sick to my stomach. These are children...not play things.
And Robyn's comment on how kids are burdens sometimes. PLEASE. Burdens? WOWZA. Even in my darkest days when I went through a horrible divorce and was raising my kids by myself, I never ever felt that my kids were anything but the biggest blessing and honor God had ever given me.
Also, Meri...you are BLESSED to have a child. Do you know how many infertile couples would love to have ONE baby. Just one child to hold and call their own. Just one child to watch grow, and grace their home. One child to nurture and adore. You were given a gift in your daughter. Please get some counseling. Your bitterness has seeped through every ounce of your life.
"Also, Meri...you are BLESSED to have a child. Do you know how many infertile couples would love to have ONE baby. Just one child to hold and call their own. DeleteYesssssssssss !!!!! This !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with the one baby thing. One of my friends lost her child only 3 hours after she was born. She would give ANYTHING to have that one child again. Anything.
DeleteBut I sort of understand its not really about the child with Meri. Its about the fact that her husband has all these other kids, and she is part of a religion that puts value on how much you can breed. I think Meri just saw that she could use her infertility to an advantage for everyone to go aww poor Meri.
Agree, agree, agree....wonder how it makes Mariah feel, does she think she is not enough?? Also wonder if women who want kids and haven't been able to have any feel when Meri starts boo-hoo-ing about she hasn't been able to have more than one...I would want to kick her right in her bull-dog face....And trust me, if Meri was able to have 2 kids, she would want 3, etc, etc, till she got to her desired number of 8 kids....people like Meri concentrate on what they don't have, not what they do have...
Deletemabye if Meri went out and DID something with her time (work, volunteer, something) she wouldn't be so seething with anger all the time...just sayin...
ITA Bakergirl with all your points. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Meri have the "smaller" house within the large house in Lehi because she didn't need as much room? It's mind boggling that she feels entitled to what the other wives, or anyone else for that matter has. She has one child who has stated she's leaving ASAP so Meri doesn't need that much space. It's childish and greedy. Janelle is the one who will have to work to pay for these pipe dreams. I don't blame her for asking the tough questions.
DeleteI think they deserve tents. Janelle lived in one for awhile, why can't she do it again and teach the others to do so?
ReplyDeleteThis is a little bit OT, but I just have to say, every time I see that Robyn has a cold sore, all I can think of is Prince John from Robin Hood, Men in Tights, with his moving mole. One scene it would be on his cheek, in another it would be on his chin LOL. (Okay, I'm weird!).
ReplyDeleteBack on topic. The one thing that bothered me to no end was the fact that Kody didn't pony up any money for those houses. I don't know a whole lot about poly, but is that what it's about? Multiple wives support the husband?
As for the kids being less than enthusiastic about the potential compound construction, these kids are very bright. I think they can see the forest through the trees when it comes to dear old dad. They probably have seen what he is truly like and simply don't trust or believe what he tells them.
Well, some folks pointed out previously that he's probably a joint account holder with at least some of them. Plus it would be clunky for TV to have him write four separate checks or something. Having each wife do it was probably some producer's idea. Since he is so power trippy, I can't imagine he'd just let them handle all the cash and not have anything to do with it, much as we might like to view him as a freeloader in this case (which he is in other areas, don't get me wrong).
DeleteWell that would make more sense about the ladies writing the checks. And of course by them writing the checks, it leaves Kody more time to run around the lots looking like an idiot LOL :)
DeleteYou know, I think I deserve to be CEO of the organization I work for. Ain't gonna happen. I also think I might deserve to be Queen of England. Do you suppose that if I start thinking I deserve it, that it will happen for me?
ReplyDeleteYeah right. There is a little thing called reality that comes between me and my desires.
I think Kody should get a haircut and get a real job; clean his act up and not be a slob and get it together like MY big brother Rob (who has a real haircut, a real job, a house he actually paid for and 1 wife).
Great to see you, Terrasola !!!!
DeleteI will tell you what they do deserve....a kick in the ass. Just don't kick kodouche to hard ....your shoe might get wet(butt sweat reference)!
ReplyDeletewell I just read that each adult gets 75k per episode so I think they probably can afford the down payments...Just don't know what they will do when the show ends...Funny my 14 yr old daughter said...For people worried about finances they eat out all the time and take so many trips!
ReplyDeleteHell no they are not getting 75k per adult per episode... if that was true they would have easily been able to afford those homes.
DeleteSo who is going to get the book? I don't want them to get my money but I am very curious. The Nacho Incident would be extremely interesting to read verbatim.
ReplyDeleteAs for buying the houses, if they really each get $75k per episode, would that make it more feasible? I know lots of people would like to see them have "real" jobs but if they are earning a lot from the show, maybe they can swing it? The fear for me would be what would happen after the gravy train dried up and I had a McMansion sized mortgage...
I've been wanting to get the book too but just haven't been able to purchase it because I don't want to give them any of my money! I'll wait till it drops more on amazon!
DeleteIf you have an Amazon account, you can "search inside." Nachos story is on page 53. It's pretty devastating.
DeleteI downloaded the book onto my kindle. *hangs head in shame* I really, really, really wanted to know what Janelle had to say. It was late at night and I had too much chocolate and I was weak! Lol.
DeleteYep, I was able to search inside. Much, much better than paying for that garbage. I like how the Kodester thinks he can cover up for that behavior by saying he hated himself at that moment. Whatever, then don't write it for the whole world to read.
DeleteA little bit of advice to the Brown family (courtesy of the guy with the biggest pouty lip ever):
ReplyDeleteYou can't always get what you want (think you deserve).
You can't always get what you want (think you're entitled to).
You can't always get what you want (especially if you don't do anything to help yourself get it).
But if you try sometimes (like "work" for it, yes, I know it's a 4-letter word)
You just might find
You get what you need (a requirement rather than a desire; yes, a radical concept.)
Oh, and an afterthought. Did you, Brown family, know that some people cannot get what they need because they cannot afford or otherwise acquire it for themselves? Those are the people who truly DESERVE things because they want only what they need.
(Yes, I know the Browns don't read here, but I needed to get this off my chest).
LOVE IT!
DeleteYou nailed it, Terrasola!! Life just doesn't give us what we deserve, does it??
DeleteUnless the buying of these 4 homes is going to be acash sale I would love to know what moron is going to finance these jokers. I know when I have purchased properties over the years, I have had to show a solid HISTORY of stable income.
ReplyDeleteSo sad that they feel the need to continually drag the kids into these pipe dreams..their lack of enthusiasm says it all! Perhaps the memory of going to bed hungry is fresher in the kids minds than the adults. Once again janelle, who I thought had some brains, kowtows to kody. Her utter submissiveness to this jerk drives me crazy..she clearly knows she's smarter and more rational than the rest but yet...I get the vibe she is more depressed than Christine!
CHRISTINE (and her connections with Principal Voices) is the reason that the Browns were considered for the show in the first place.
ReplyDeleteChristine should keep the TLC money. Kody can save his grocery money for his mcmansions and trips to Mexico with Meri.
what dont 2 wives share a house like oh i dont know Meri and Robchin ( the besties barf) & Janelle and Christine then they would only need 2 houses a lot less money and I thought the whole purpose was to live together ??? these people are delusional except for Janelle who flat out said there is no way their budgets can afford houses of this size
ReplyDeleteKodouch keeps the bulk of money from tlc & doles out monthly to women to run their homes. Wouldn't it be funny if he gambled all the money away. There has to be a reason he always wanted to live in vegas.
ReplyDeleteIf they are supposed to ALL be a family, I agree with above, why not share houses. For that matter, why not build 1 big house. I could not imagine the expense of the 4 huge homes.
ReplyDeleteIf I watch one more episode and Robyn beaks down in tears I will seriously stop watching the show.Get a grip girl. She seems very needy and unstable to me.
After watching the season Finale, I believe this is not a happy family at all. Seems after being together all these years(except the cry baby) these women would actually like each other.I don't believe they do. Its taken away from what I thought was a story of a somewhat troubled, but happy family.
Logan only has 2 choices, both within "their" community?
ReplyDeleteRUN LOGAN RUN. I can't believe they are acting like losing him would be so horrible. I've had children in college, and with others at home, it was a nice "break" for her, and she was home on many weekends, long holidays, and basically the 1st of May through August.
They want him home to control those younger two children, who are good kids that need attention. Split up, and Christine's influence not there, Janelle's kids are flailing. Before they got her nurturing and Janelle's smarts. Although, Christine's kids didn't get the same back from Janelle.
Come on Kody, how often do you see Kody? Why were you never with him at football practice like the other dads? Why?
How many think that Kody totally got LV to pay for Logan's college? You know He's not.
The houses, pffffttttt. Down below on another post, they haven't been bought. I wonder if there are HOA fees?
Why don't they move back to Utah. The kids would be happier. They are all in 1 home again...minus cry baby Robin.Utah has decided not to file charges.Really seems better than spending money they do not have on houses they will lose to the bank.I think these people are idiots. Why would meri want a 7 bedroom home.Even with her"expensive taste"....why 7 bedrooms. IDIOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey won't move back because the Kodester wants to feel all glamours and celebrity-like in Vegas. I could see him walking the strip just to see if anyone wants a pic with him.
DeleteFrom what I've read, you can have two families in one home. In fact, if you go 2 miles out in the county land, you can build what you want. Don't let them fool you.
ReplyDelete4 Townhomes? Why, that wouldn't spend the the non money fast enough.
Is Mariah the only one that gets consideration? Funny, she wasn't squished into a room with 4 sisters like Janelle's were the last time. I used to defend Meri, now I see her as selfish. They all are, they don't need these homes. They need to have smaller homes and focus on the kids.
CJ, is there a way to find out how much the Browns make per episode. One blog said that it was $75k per adult. This would be $375,000
ReplyDeletefor doing one show. I find this hard to believe. If they make this much per episode, then then can pay cash for the homes. They contradict themselves every time they open their mouths. Those houses have to cost close to half a million. Had they considered how much it is going to cost to maintain these homes. Kody is delusional if he thinks that TLC is going to provide for them forever. He feels that he is entitled to 4 huge homes. Will his name be on the mortgages. I find it hard to believe that a single woman with no job besides being on TLC can afford a home this big. This show is about Kody and what he thinks he deserves. He only wants Logan home to babysit and take care of the kids when he is on vacation with his many wives. Do they think they are celebrities. Celebrities salaries are posted all the time, why he'll we even know what the President of the US makes. We know what star athletics make. Why is the salary of reality stars so secret. What are they hiding? If anyone knows the answer, please let us in on the secret. I threw up when I went to their Facebook page and started reading some of their fan comments. I can't believe these people. They love this jerk and want to be in their family. Do these nuts realize that this reality show is not real. Do they know that Kody is not like this when the cameras are not rolling. Kody makes polygamy look glamorous. He makes polygamy look like fun. Lots of great vacations and eating out all the time. When was the last time they showed any of them cooking (besides the tapioca pudding) for the kids. Does Kody deserve 4 mansions?
I wonder if TLC has made them any promises. Like, "go ahead, buy the homes. With what we pay you, you can afford it! We'll continue taping you for years to come!"
DeleteThere have been a number of comments (from me and others)the last couple of days concerning how much the Browns make per episode. I'm really beginning to think Kody started that rumor of $75K per adult!
DeleteI can't seem to stop thinking about these wackos either, as someone else posted.
ReplyDeleteSo, how bout that reaction that Koturd had when Logan said he wanted to break free a bit (Don't remember the exact wording, but that was the jist). The camera showed Koturd sitting in a chair looking like he was about to explode with fury. Now, I've seen the "wrath of doom" stare that gets shot at the wives rather frequently but that is nothing compared to how he looked when Logan said that. Makes me wonder what would have happened if Logan had said he chose SUU. I get the impression of just so much being under the surface with all of them. The body language, the crying, so many clues to the real dynamics of this family. A psychiatrist's wet dream, this bunch
There is really only one reason I watch this show. After watching, I feel so much closer to my husband that I have to hug him and thank him for being so good to me. My husband is a good man, for sure, but compared to Kody he is an absolute dream. I can't imagine sharing my him with anyone. I imagine the jealousy would drive me to violence. I can't believe these women really think God wants them to feel such deep seated feelings of jealousy and inadequacy. That's insane.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to be open to their arrangement, too, but I heard my grandmother tell her sons: "The best thing you can do for your children is be faithful to their mother."
DeleteI agree. I've been looking, and no expert, but do know you can have at least a two family home. Many homes are built to accommodate several visitors, stars, etc.
ReplyDeleteThey simply don't want to *GASP* share two kitchens. I thought Robyn said if they can share Kody, they can share anything.
I see a spin off for Logan in the future. It's obvious the producers like him, and are just waiting for him to get away somewhat from Kody. Let's face it will be interesting. He is his dad's son. I remember Kody saying something inane like 'son, you can only court one at a time, and NO SEX until married, but once married, you can marry as many as you want. eeek.'
They make such a huge deal of Robyn kissing Kody and not Christine before marriage, know we know why.
Let's hope the teens get out and have some normal dates, and that includes kissing and holding hands. I pray Logan doesn't get it in his head that dad has it made, and goes on a power trip. Isn't that what any polygamist-celestial community is?
My parents have passed. And were older, strict parents. But I have to say a big thank you to them - a BIG ONE. For me and my siblings, we lived in a typical ranch house and clipped coupons. A new bike was a big deal. And it was grand!
My dad and mom stashed their money away. (We didn't have huge sit downs about it either.) Both were college educated, and pushed the grades. All of us children got to choose where we wanted to go, and flew the nest! My parents used their money for our education. They also made us stay in the dorm the first year. YEAH! Little did they know.... heehheee or maybe they did. My dad's words as I was leaving was, be safe, have fun, have the time of your life! Thank you Mom and Dad, for being NORMAL. NOT hanging on me to babysit my younger kids you produced. Trusting me. Logan might as well get married, he's got lots of kids and nagging wives who probably lean on him emotionally.
DID you hear that somewhat slam Logan said, I fell in reference to Robyn saying SOLOMUM needed to know his older brother? He said he wasn't hanging around forever for that.
It's delusional to think they will have grandkids etc at later Christmass'. Do they go to their parents? No.
I think the ONLY reason Robyn wants Logan around is to be a father figure for Sol, because she sees the writing on the wall that Kody isn't going to be around much. Especially if he picks up another wife (hey Meri, so you thought that big house with 7 bedrooms was only for you?)
DeleteHi all! I'm new to the blog, but not to the show. I haven't been able to stop reading the hilarious commentary here over the last few days! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started watching Sister Wives, I didn't mind the family and had a bit of a "to each their own" attitude regarding the lifestyle. As things unfold, though, I am growing more and more disgusted by Kody Brown. I don't have much that's nice to say about Meri or Robyn either. I know it's been hashed out on this blog, but there are few aspects of this show that I have found as disgusting as Meri's need for a McMansion. She is acting like a damn 12-year old with the whole "Just because I wasn't able to have 40 kids doesn't mean I deserve less of a house" thing. Be a damn adult and choose a house that fits your budget spacial needs! Her spacial needs are not as great! It's as simple as that! I must have missed the part where you did anything to "deserve" more.
As far as Kody... I just have to mentally check out of that whole mess. Shitty husband, shitty father, narcissist, egotist, scumbag. The man is a freaking cartoon. What he said about Christine was abhorrent. No doubt he said it to refute the "womanizer" accusation. "OH HE POSITIVELY *CAN'T* SIMPLY BE A HORNDOG! HE WASN'T EVEN ATTRACTED TO HER!" Epic fail, Kody. You still look like a horndog, and now you look like an emotional abuser too. Smooth. It would be funny if so many sweet, innocent kids weren't involved.
Love Janelle, the poor dear. But you can only pity someone so much before you realize it really is up to them to change their life. She's the one with the budgeting skills, the level head, and the apparent ability to succeed in the workforce. If she doesn't leave soon she only has herself to blame for this sloppy wreck of a life. RUN Janelle, RUN!
I agree with your post 100%!!! Thanks for joining in:)
DeleteI love this site, the only reason I still watch the show is so I know what everyone is talking about here.
ReplyDeleteI think it is completely ridiculous that Meri gets/wants a 7 bedroom house...What the hell for? Does she not understand that unless she decides to be another Octomom there is no way she is going to fill that house up with kids. She said herself that soon her only child is going away to college, so why does she need the big house? Janelle is correct, Meri should not have a house as big as the moms with 6 kids, she does not need it. There are a lot of people in this world that can not have children but they are practical and realize that since they probably will not have children they do not need a house with 7 bedrooms, Meri just need to get over herself.
Instead of her, Kody, Robyn going to marriage counseling maybe Meri should get a little one-on-one counseling regarding her inability to get over the fact that she probably will not have the 8 children she always wanted, at her age you would think reality would have sunk in.
I wonder how different things would be if Janelle was the first wife instead of Meri, I think things would be very different. I know they are always saying that the order doesn't matter but just from watching the show you can tell that Meri thinks that she is the first wife and she has a different attitude compare to everyone else, like she has set herself up on a pedestal to be worshipped from afar.
I'm kinda on the wall with Meri and the 7 bedroom house. Probably because I don't think ANY of them need houses that big. The mansions are just ridiculous and I can't believe they are doing that.
DeleteAnyway, I just wonder how Meri will be able to emotionally handle a home that big. If it were me and I really wanted several children and could only have one, I'd feel an emptiness every time I walked by the 5-6 empty rooms. I think it'd tear me up.
That's just me though.
Buying the house is only the beginning, too. The utilities on a house that large will be astronomical. A brand new house requires landscaping. And what about furniture? Meri dreams of the family hanging out at her house, but she has said several times that no one ever comes over - she blames this on location but having read the book I think it is probably more that people feel unwelcome in her home.
DeleteLeviBlue - ah, but you're not in a QueenMeri First Wife power play like she is. that's the difference. It's all about her message to the others.
DeleteRobyn is so disgusting. Seems like she ALWAYS has lip herpes. Pretty soon all of the wives will have those gross growths on their faces.
ReplyDeleteTHIS is all I can keep thinking every time I see her OR I see that idiot kiss them all in turn! Blech! Those things are contagious!!!
DeleteBwahahahaha! When I was in nursing school we were told during our OB/L&D clinicals that if we had lip herpes (instructor actually said that), NOT to show up. No HSV-1 is allowed anywhere near newborns. Seeing at least one of the women constantly in active outbreak tells me that they're immune system is down, they're seriously stressed, or both.
DeleteBut you know something, Janelle and Christine are not legally married to Kody so one day they can take a bag with important papers, some clothes, climb into the Lexus/Nissan and just drive off. They can later sue for child support but don't have to go through divorce proceedings. They can marry someone else straight away. They don't need approval or whatever from Kody. They can just pick up and leave and they should, together. So RNC and MGM can have Kody all to themselves.
ReplyDeleteLIKE!
DeleteThis makes me think, though, the Kodester is not stupid. Surely he knows they could do this so he must have some way to keep them. The emotional manipulation? Telling them no one else would have their chubby, nacho-eating selves? Isn't the whole "you're nothing with out me" thing classic behavior from a man of his type?
Deletethey stay through control from fear and guilt from their religious beliefs that this is the only way to the celestial kingdom and their eternal family. period.
DeleteTLC has some kind of connection with NBC news...or at least Natalie Morales. Back in the days of Jon & Kate + 8, the 2-hour soft-served "tell all" special with Natalie was the signaling of end times for that show. Jon & Kate's inflamed egos, sense of entitlement and false perceptions of celebrity status, culminated in the purchase of a mansion they couldn't afford and quickly led to the demise of that family. I predict Sister Wives is on it's way out and they're delusional if they think TLC cares one way or another. It's just business to them. "Hear that sound, Kody? That's the ticking of the clock. Your 15 minutes are just about up."
ReplyDeleteI love this blog! I live in Vegas (also by way of Utah), and the Brown lots are about a mile away from my house (in an episode near the beginning of the season there was a pretty clear shot of one of the street signs). Anyway, we found the area pretty easily via Google Maps, and a quick look at the county assessor's site lists each lot -- just the dirt -- at a value of $300,000+ each. The lots are also still listed as being owned by the builder, which is pretty routine. Would it be stalkery to take a drive over and see if building has started, or if it was just a cheap shot at a mid-season cliffhanger?
ReplyDeleteSomewhere on the blog someone else from Vegas said something about the lots, but I can't remember exactly -- That 2 houses were built already maybe? Anyway, I say throw caution to the wind, put on your best pair of Jackie O sunglasses and take a look/see. Of course, you'll come back and report, right? I can't wait!
DeletePlease do a drive by. I want to hear first-hand accounts.
DeleteThere is nothing wrong with taking a little drive! I would if I lived nearby. Maybe you'll catch a glimpse of Kody running laps around the lots.
DeleteYeah, take a cruise and check it out! Maybe you'll get lucky and catch a glimpse of Grody frolicking around the lots! :/
Deleteoh yes! Take a drive. Then tell us everything.
DeleteI also vote to take a drive and look see. The Duggar's boy and his wife and kids live about three blocks from my husband and me and when I take my husband out for walks (he is blind so I have to take him), we walk by their house and I always check it out to see if the yard work is done ect. They do keep a nice yard. I also drove over to the Duggars house to let some out of town friends see where they lived; however, they have now posted guards so you cannot just get out and take pictures. Not that I would do that...well, maybe if they weren't home. Plus, I see them at Sams a lot. I think they routinely shop there but I go once a month to get bulk things. When I see them, they are always very nice and the kids well mannered.
DeleteI second the "get your Jackie O's" on! And maybe a scarf. J/k! Keep us posted.
DeleteWish I lived there because I wouldn't be just driving by, I'd get out and run around the lots while someone video taped me ...hahahaha
DeleteOne mile? Take your dog out for a walk and check it out. Take some pics!
DeleteIf you see Grody out frolicking, don't stop. He might run over and mark your tires as being on his already stinked-up territory.
DeleteI believe the new lots are all bare, I posted MikeLv post again on this post somewhere....
DeleteWith regard to the four separate 7 bedroom homes, I did some basic math (because I love to aggravate myself apparently) and when you put it on paper, it really is much more egregious than originally thought:
ReplyDeleteLehi, UT home: 8 bedrooms / 17 people
Las Vegas NV homes: 28 bedrooms / 22 people
So, they're math means that when you increase your family size by 30% (Robyn & kids) you should increase the number of bedrooms by 350% to accomodate them?
HMMM, hate to think if they add a 5th wife (and more kids), they're gonna have to buy Rhode Island!
But in Lehi they were not making collective $375,000 per episode. I'm not arguing their right to buy new, big homes anywhere they want. They should take a lesson from Real Housewives, Kate + 8, etc, that it won't last and to plan for a drying-up of cash flow for the future.
DeleteThey DO NOT make than an episode. TOPS they make $300,000 a season. TOPS. Thanks!
Delete300k a season is still 60k per adult per year. A lot more than what they grifted, bled out of the beast etc and still a LOT more than what most Americans make.
DeleteMONO - you're on the same page as me when I suggested in last thread that Janelle and Christine (well, Janelle should explain it since Christine won't be able to) should use math logic w/Meri and Robyn on determining the square footage of their homes.
DeleteBoth Janelle and Christine get the largest homes w/7 bedrooms cause they have the largest families. They take the square footage of their homes and divide it by 7 (the number each of them have. Grody doesn't count cause he's got no skin in the game.) They then take that square footage per person # calculated and then times it by 2 for Meri = that's her fair and equal square footage amount per person that Janelle and Christine have. Repeat for Robyn times 5.
NOW every single person has the same square footage space in their homes regardless of who their momma is (sorry MOTHER MERI #1) or how many people are in their house.
GREAT POST CYNICAL!!!!! Laughing out loud!
ReplyDeleteI was so disappointed when I enlarged the picture of Logan on the computer. Small, I thought the book said "RealDads" LOL!!!!! I need new glasses.
You are so right about the money, bankruptcy. I think the 3 original see poverty around the corner. Yet, they all have a say, RIGHT? Not.
I can't wait for the interview post. That had so much snark you could make it a two parter!!!!
Do you think he uses that laptop to lurk here?
DeleteI'm sure he does...when he's not busy deleting tweets and applying Anti-Monkey Butt cream to his rear.
DeleteHe could use a little on his mug as well.
Deleteisn't 'realidad' spanish for reality?
Deletepor supuesto!
Deletei'm glad i enlarged it cause my poor old eyes read it as "realdildos" !!!
DeleteInteresting how Garrison's b'day got lost in the BIG announcements of Kody and Logan's. Shows just how often these people really get together that they had to overshadow Garrison's b'day with nonsense. I didn't even realize it was G's birthday. oh well, no guilt here as his own family doesn't seem like they let Garrison himself realize it much either.
ReplyDeleteREALLY!
DeleteThere's no way Logan's going to be able to stand living in his needy and chaotic household while going to college. Let's hope he's away all the time at a job or in classes/studying at the library/partying-socializing and they never see him at home same as if he lived out of state going to school. ;')
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad that TLC didn't show Kodouche's "physical response".
ReplyDeleteRemember Jon & Kate + 8? Remember how they moved out of their old house and into that huge McMansion with the huge amount of land? Jon bought lavish cars and motorcycles. Kate spent gobs of money on hair extensions, spray tans and clothes. And then the show went off the air (thank goodness!) and the well went dry. The last I read, Jon was doing construction work.
ReplyDeleteKody and his wives need to really think about this. This show is running its course. I would be shocked if Sisterwives is still on the air 3 years from now. And then how are they going to afford not one, but four, homes? And not just regular homes, but huge houses with 7 bedrooms? They are not only foolish, but just plain stupid.
Anonymous, People Magazine did an article on Jon in the issue that is on stands now. He is now working in the computer industry, but I think it stated that it took him three years to get a job. I can't remember as I read it quickly. It does sound like he has gotten back on track a bit, but he did say that the kids miss being on t.v.., etc.. However, you are correct...the show will eventually end and then what will they do?
DeleteHe is in the computer industry now (which is where he originally was in the very beginning of J & K + 8), but soon after the divorce, after all that Ed Hardy clothing crap, he had to work in construction. I even remember some website posting a photo of him in construction clothes and a hardhat.
DeleteI remember after the divorce he was renting a 1-bedroom apartment in New York that was outrageously expensive (not to mention it didn't have a bedroom for his 8 kids). I wonder if he still has that apartment. My guess is no.
...and one more thing:
ReplyDeletePOOR LOGAN! It may have just been me, but I got the impression that deep down he really wanted to go back to Utah for school. If the family can afford 4 McMansions, then they could have afforded out-of-state tuition. Thinking back to when I was choosing a college, I know it would have been difficult for me to make my own decision amidst that much familial pressure, and my family was only 1/6 the size of Logan's! After all, his father, Big Mister Vegas (eyeroll), essentially called everyone in the state dumb hicks. I hope he finds an alternative to living at home so that he can start to have a little bit of a life of his own.
Kodouche is getting more and more deranged. He needs to trade the McMansions for a straight-jacket and nice rubber room.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Hey sister wives...please don't give this man any more assault weapons. Perhaps you didn't notice but he appears to sporting a serious case of crazy eyes
Someone made a point earlier about Logan getting a paycheck from TLC if he stays home ..
ReplyDeleteThat is a good reason to stay. He is a fantastic kid who really steps up. I think he is smart enough to
handle school and what will amount to a part time job.
I dislike Robyn more every time I see her. I used to like all of the others, but now, Meri has herself looking
so mean and greedy, that pfft! I am not interested. Janelle and Christine seem to be great people and they
have good kids. Truely ( sp) does seem to me to have some issues, but I could be wrong. IF she does and they
choose not to discuss it, that is their business and probably better for the child.
I do not think they need 4 houses either. I don't think each child needs their own bedroom.. my 4 didn't.
I too, think that it would be wisest for them to go back to the old house in Utah. Why not? That is where the family is,and the kids clearly miss it. They would get back into the swing of things with their old friends quickly.
Build an addition for Robyn, if they insist on keeping her. It is possible to run a business long distance if they ever do
have anything going on for a fitness center or what have you. One of them could travel out there once a month to keep
an eye on things. All they need to do is hire a competent manager.
I still like most them. Kody may be losing some ground with his comments, but since it is edited ...
I am not ready to give up on him yet. I do think he needs to do some making up with Christine. If they
insist on staying in the desert, then they certainly do NOT need more than two of those ridiculous homes.
I see comments about welfare etc. Then I see comments about huge TLC stories per episodes. Both can't be true.
I am very much for live and let live and if these folks or anyone wants to have a plural marriage, go for it!
None of my business. I am disappointed in what looks like growing greed on the part of some of them. Meri's wet
bar comment nearly finished me off. I say stick her in with Robyn and let the other two sort themselves out in another one
of those homes, if they refuse to go home.. which they apparently do.. which I will never understand.
The jewelry is too expensive. Not my taste, either. I was surprised to see that there was s o little to choose from in the store they talked about for so long.
I think the kids will be okay, because I think that the moms love them, and that they love each other. Great kids.
Okay, I am not so sure about Robyn's kids, but I may be unfair there since I dislike her.
Kody admitting that he goes 5 days without seeing a wife is on him. These rentals are not far from each other. 3 clustered together and Meri across a main drag on other side of golf course.
ReplyDeleteLet's see,5 nights .... I'm thinking 2 with his "lover" 1 with his personal accountant and 2 with bedroom wife, Herps-Zola. Then back to Nacho girl because she is being punished. Remember he comes over as late as possible and leaves early.
Please, please someone tell me what the hell these people take vacation from? I take vacation in little chunks a few days every 3 months or so because of my responsibility to family and work. When I go on vacation I leave a job that waits until I get back. They are on permanent vacation!!!!
I think it is clear they all get the same budget/ split because Janelle and Christine has to make theirs feed 7 and Meri gets to go on vacation often with her surplus.
Thanks CJ and Mistersister, love the blog, your wit and humor makes this last season bearable during all the Brown ridiculous delusional antics.
I bet Kody spends most of his time at Meri's because she's got a nice big QUIET house. I think Kody like procreating but not actually being around or taking care of anuy of those kids.
Deletethey all get the same budget?? of course!! cause as Meri's told them all, "dammit, i wanted 8 kids and I shouldn't have to be penalized by getting less $$ just because i wasn't able to have that many. I DESERVE just as much as Christine and Janelle!!"
Deleteoh, i think Christine and Grody have def made up. Word is that Christine made an EXTRA two 5-gallon pots of her world-famous and completely irresistible MOCK TAPIOCA PUDDING and held a huge "I'M SO SORRY FOR BEING UNATTRACTIVE, KODY" family gala. (The kids all gleefully wore new printed t-shirts that said, "Yo Momma So Fugly... especially when she downs the nachos!" For the FIRST TIME EVER, everyone was able to eat themselves silly on the stuff and there was actually a bite left over!!!
ReplyDeleteKody, in his usual humble and spiritual manner, accepted her apology in front of the whole family and then actually KISSED Christine much to the disgust of all. Thankfully, he spared her kids from hearing him telling her he loved her, too! ALL IS WELL IN ZION ONCE AGAIN!!!
* That was supposed to be *Herps-zilla* damn iPhone auto correct.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if anyone else has commented on this, but I just checked out the jewelry on the website and oh my lordy. They think people are going to pay that kind of money for that?!!! LOL! I know I'm rushing to buy all my favorite women a $100 "SW" necklace that looks like something you get out of a gumball machine.
ReplyDeleteYou're way late to the party. There's over 200 comments on two other closed threads already! ;')
DeleteIf Meri has expensive taste, why does she wear such ugly clothes?
ReplyDeleteExactly..and why are they rotating that hideous yellow sausage casing. I wonder if Kodouche is in charge of delivering it (as well as himself) to a new sisterwife weekly? Maybe the lip herpes travels with the shirt?
DeleteHaven't seen Sobbin'Robyn wearing it so, the ladies must have some healthy boundaries after all!
DeleteQuick random thought:
ReplyDeleteKody's eyes don't look straight. Doesn't it look like the left one's drifting?
Also:
This blog has earned a space on my (always displayed) bookmarks toolbar...very elite real estate, lol! Got my email, my weather, my school stuff, and my sister wives blog :) thanks CJ PIP T and MS
Thanks!
DeleteWhen will the review for the tell all be posted?
ReplyDeleteWithin 24 hours (I hope)
DeleteMeri made a comment last Sunday about "not being like the rest of the other sister wives." She's so right, and she not like anyone else I know personally, thank God. These adults need REAL jobs so they can actually be good role models for their children. What do these children think about their parents doing ridiculous things to stay on a TV show? The
ReplyDeletechildren can't support themselves when they grow up on reality shows.
What are these people thinking--certainly not about their children.
I concur Kippy! They all need to get of their fat asses and get a job. My God, how long can this train wreck go on??????!!!!!
DeleteYeah, thought that was pretty ridiculous of Kody to now be concerned that he wasn’t Father enough for Logan. How about those other 16 kids of yours? How about you step up to the plate and be a father to them, right now? I was thinking though that the Brown kids are ‘allowed’ to be more honest and have differing opinions than the Duggar kids who say the same rehearsed things over and over (they are disturbing as well, but this is about the Browns!) . I was wondering why that would be, given that both families have some kind of strict religions. I think it’s because Jim Bob Duggar is just around more for his kids and they therefore hear his ‘beliefs’ more than the Brown kids hear Kody’s 'wisdom'. How much time has Kody really put into parenting? He has 4 separate and distinct marriages that are full of drama and angst (that he and Meri created) so that leaves little time for him to spend time with his kids, let alone time explaining their faith to them. The wives are so starved for attention they try to make their time with Kody ‘special’ and probably not all that kid-oriented. I highly doubt he is really conducting weekly church services with his family (the one he had when his brothers were there was really fake-feeling). I suppose if the kids don’t practice plural marriage, then it’s the wife’s fault. Just like everything else. So is that why Janelle almost seems panicked that Logan might not share their religious beliefs? It is super important that the first born son go into plural marriage as well? I am guessing it is. Of course, Meri's compliant daughter is on board so Meri's soul mate status will remain intact.
ReplyDeleteremember the night Kody "babysat" all his kids? and he sat one of the little boys on the couch that was fighting w/his sister. He couldn't even get the little boy to "repeat after me" and say "daddy" as Kody was sternly instructing. All the kid did was laugh at "daddy." Of course, by the time these kids are teens there's no respect whatsoever for him. They don't even respect him as a little kid like this little boy exhibited.
DeleteI thought watching Kody running around the lots was the most ridiculous thing ever. The music made it so much worse!! When Kody later asked if it looked stupid, am I the only one who thinks Robyn was about to say 'yes', when all the other wives said 'no'? She definitely stopped herself from saying something. Oh, and his comment earlier about deserving those houses, what has he done to deserve anything? It's not like he has been working hard and saving or sacrificing himself in any way. I think him "deserving" these homes just proves how delusional and narcissistic he is. I think the wives deserve the homes just because they put up with him. Maybe there will be enough bedrooms so Kody can have one all to himself when the wives decide they don't actually want to sleep with him. :)
ReplyDeleteI too thought he looked really ridiculous running around the dirt lots with the sappy music. And what about the clip of the kids flying the white flags? Isn't it just a little bit ironic that they were white flags, which commonly means "to surrender?" Gee, let's have our kids fly white flags in a neighborhood we're not going to live in.
DeleteI wish I had a clip of just Kody running so I could play it over and over again when I need a chuckle.
That was jumping the shark for me! He looked soooo stuid, who does that?? Tooo funny, TLC must really not like him.
DeleteYes I spotted that too but haven't mentioned yet. I have DVR and it slows down when everyone but Robchin says "nooooo" it looks like Robchin say..."well, yeah or yes". She is forming a y sound with her giant chin lowered.
DeleteSame way they stopped Kodys reaction when Robchin corrects him on how to talk to chirstine ... His head rears back and they cut away.
Kody is especially angry and mean on these two shows. I guess if Kody boy doesn't get to play enough he gets crabby.
There will be a public meet tomorrow with the Browns:
ReplyDeleteMeet the Kody Brown Family Wed June 27 at Popped! 9480 S Eastern Ave Las Vegas 89113 Drop by to say Hi & grab some fun popcorn 6:30-8 pm
(From their official facebook page)
As of today, there are no ownership records filed in Clark County in the name of any of the ladies using the last name Brown or under their other names (pre-Brown). There are no ownership recordings under the name of Grody. I even checked Logan and the children to see if property was under their names. Nothing. It is possible that they purchased something under the name of a Corporation or LLC but not with the name Brown attached to it. There was one Meriyn Brown that appears to have purchased a condominium last year.
ReplyDeleteWhen Grody stated that even tho he was not attracted to Christine physically but he knew that she would give him good SONS, did he get her mixed up with Janelle?? Christine's only given him ONE son (she's told him she's done with having kids) and 5 "worthless" DAUGHTERS. i guess he can't keep straight which kid came from what momma.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY! How disgusting and misogynistic for Grody to say that out loud. I'm sorry for all his daughters who had to hear that. "He's a real stew pot" to use my good ol' granny's famous line.
DeleteFrom a previous post on the lots:

Just to let you all know. I know the properties that they are "buying". Hell, I could post the addresses if I felt like it. I live in las Vegas and have a very keen eye for locating places. According to the Clark County Assessor's Page, those 4 lots that they put money on and are trying to get financing on... are still owned by the development company. Something tells me that they couldn't get the financing.
Oh yeah... each lot back in 2010 was going for $625k.
The reason why no one wants Logan to move is very clear to see...he is the hands on man of the family. Logan cares for his siblings in a way Kody never has. With Logan gone Janelle will struggle taking care of the 5 remaining of her kids alone because Kody is an absent dad.
ReplyDeleteKody does not divide his time equally between the wives as stated on the last episode when he explained that his wives complain 5 days go by without seeing him...I bet its Christine and Janelle that are getting robbed of his time...I'm betting most of his time is spent with Robyn and then Meri, and Meri second because she will give him hell if he robs her of her time with him...Meri is selfish and greedy and will make sure Kody spends time with her too..her depression and gorging on food, evident with her massive weight gain since season 1...she is the size of a 7 ft tall line backer...or like Shrek...because Kody spends more time with Robyn...
Kody doesnt work so what is he doing everyday that is so time consuming that he cant visit each house and spend time with his kids...he only has to walk a few doors down to see each...
Why is he so hell bent on Meri having another baby when he has no interest in the 17 he has right now?
I'm getting tired of Meri's fake tears over a miscarriage that happened 4 years ago...cant she pull herself together...and if not just stop talking about it...her drama is getting old and tiresome to listen to. The gall that she feels entitled to a large house and verbally abuses Janelle for speaking the truth about Meri not needing a 7 bedroom house. Meri is the most self centered, mean spirited person I have seen.
Notice that Mariah is the only child that wants a plural marriage and that is because she sees how Meri runs the show by her ugly attitude and we saw Mariah exibit the same outburst on their visit to Utah...the apple didnt fall far from the rotted tree....but notice that Christine and Janelle's kids do not want the plural lifestyle and that is because they see their moms getting neglected and abused....
This show is very hard to watch because I feel Meri and Kody are very abusive to the other wives and kids by either verbal bullying or Kody's child neglect...very hard to watch....
You make a point that bothers me. He doesn't see those kids for days either. Strange. No job, plenty of free time, and the houses are close. Worry about the kids! Remember in the old home most of them gathered at Christine's to eat together, share some time? That's gone, too.
DeleteI'm sure Robyn gets two days to everyone else's one and Christina's half or none. She has the one and only King Solomon that Kody needs to help with, after all.
DeleteFrom Cynical's Revealing Review:
ReplyDelete"Kody screams at Janelle "...why are you pushing him to the Mormon church?...he's a plig kid..." Even though Janelle explains that Logan has a better chance of keeping true to his mormon fundamentalist roots by associating with LDS'ers, Kody's not convinced. "...[Mormons] can't even tolerate us !" he hisses to Janelle."
Do you all think that was quite telling and hypocritical?
Whether or not it was hypocritical, defending his religion, his paycheck etc I think more than anything it was a control issue. Kody wants to have total control over his breathren and always the last word. He doesn't like it that Janelle is making decisions/allowing Logan to do something. He wants to be the one making decisions for everybody and deciding what they can/can´t do. Off-camera, rage follows. I think that was the main reason he snapped at Janelle and I think later that they he let her know what he really thought of her.
DeleteKody doesn't love or care for his kids. They are just pawns for him.
well, Janelle is terrified that Logan will also leave his childhood religion like both his parents did and trade down to something even worse like they did! ;')
DeleteAlso off topic, but...
ReplyDeleteWe've been so glued to the ugliness of the jewelry, we are not counting other countries and religions with polygamy. They might have something there.
Maybe, but not likely. As one poster pointed out, other cultures who practice polygamy do it for different reasons than the Brown's. I'm thinking fetishists.
DeleteHuh, I had to re-follow the Browns on Twitter. Can they control who follows them? I don't know much about this here computing machine, I'm just from a Utah dirt farm.
ReplyDeleteWHAT is THIS?! O_o
ReplyDeleteMeri Brown @MeriBrown1
Kody Brown Family looking for 3-5 leaders to be on our business team, Thurs evening in Vegas. Space is limited, RSVP livbrownteam@gmail.com
There is not "business team" they are just looking to recruit more "downline" in their Liv MLM scheme.
DeleteSounds like they're losing members on their team and have started advertising for replacements.
DeleteI don't think people have left their "team". I think they are realizing their downline isn't selling much/income is limited and they want/need more downline.
DeleteMLM'ers are ALWAYS losing their "leaders" and are ALWAYS recruiting. it's the name of the scam. i mean game.
DeleteRe: twitter I think it is possible to delete tweets that are aimed exclusively @him?
ReplyDeleteBecause many not-so-nice tweets @realkodybrown have disappeared
Lobotomized, he can delete or block posts. However, i have some and am working on a post about the not so nice ones.
DeleteI'm not such a twit-nit. Too bad, I wish I knew how it worked so I could have helped you.
DeleteIs it only me or is anyone else secretly HOPING they cannot get financing....they would lose $20,000 and learn a lesson in the process (we can hope)
ReplyDeleteThey have terrible credit. Multiple bankruptcies. No job. No steady income (I wouldn't call TLC steady since it can end any time), so no I don't think there will be any type of normal financing.
DeleteObviously there won't be "normal" financing, but I honestly hope they cannot get financed PERIOD. They need to live within their means--this is not it.
DeleteI put earnest money down on my new house with the contingency that my old house got sold. If it hadnt sold I would have gotten my money back. (This was at the height of the housing boom) I am guessing they also have a contingency to get financing.
DeleteI dont think their contract allows for their money to be returned. It's a penalty for wasting the builders time if they can't get financing.
Deleteanony 4:17 - I HIGHLY doubt these people had $20,000 collectively to throw away. there's no way they didn't have a contingency to get their e-money back if they couldn't get the approved financing. NO WAY!
DeleteIt was my understanding, as well, that the earnest money they put down was not returned if they do not get financing. I would need to see the episode again to make sure though.
DeleteMy guess is that there is a contingency for the earnest money. Basically, the earnest money eels the seller we are interested so don't sell them for thirty days so we can get our financing together. They would get first right of refusal if other buyers showed up. Just how it worked for my family when we bought or lot to build our home on.
DeleteOne day one of the Browns will write a tell all book about watching their moms sitting alone and crying night after night...
ReplyDeleteLogan being the eldest child is wise beyond his years...I think he holds a lot of resentment that he had to raise his 5 sibling because of Kodys neglect...at his age you would think there would be a lot of male bonding going on with his dad and there is none. Logan and Hunter will disown their dad when they are grown men because they see him for what he is...an abusive and neglectful father and husband. The way he disrespects their mothers does not go unnoticed by them...
I wonder why he never mentions any of the kids calling him and asking when they will see him...its either because hes trying to hide the truth of his neglect or the kids are conditioned from birth that they have an absent father and know no differently....you cant miss what you never had...
I was thinking how cool it would be if Janelle or Christine threw it back in Meri's face that THEY are being punished for having more than 1 child. They have to use their grocery money if they want to go on a trip, they have homes where the kids have to share rooms (and I don't think that will ever change...I just don't see them getting those big homes), etc. etc.. It would be awesome to see them turn it around on her and make her realize the sacrifices they have to make having the large families.
ReplyDeleteSince I missed the first season, have Janelle or Christine ever had a tropical vacation with Kody? I apologize if this is a repeat question, but I have not had time to scour the other pages to see if they have. I was just wondering how fair that treatment is for them, since Meri's birthday present was the trip to Mexico. I just hadn't seen Janelle or Christine be given anything like this...one on one.
Kody took a trip once w/Christine and "her" kids once. and he spent the night camping out once with Janelle. that's good enough for a lifetime now for him.
DeleteWhy couldn't they just buy two houses next to each other and have two wives each share a home? It would be easier to find two houses next door to each other than four, woulln't it? I mean, three wives were all in the same big house in Utah. It seems extravagant to me to have a large house for each wife.
ReplyDeleteuhmm... maybe because history has proven you can't find two of these women who will live together in the same house? Christine and Janelle would have to have room for 14 people. Robyn and Meri would only have to have room for 7. Christine and Janelle neither one would live with Robyn or Meri. and Robyn and Meri won't live with each other. the relationship dynamics in this super loving plyg family just don't work out for only two homes! lol
DeleteBecause those wives have now experienced life in seperate households and realize how much better it is. They hate living together. They hate being around other women who also happen to sleep with their man.
Delete'Cause they think they are "celebrities"...Super Stars of their caliber certainly need mansions and gated communities!
DeleteThe name of their street should be Delusional Drive!!!
If I may inject a note of positivity, Janelle is looking much healthier than she was in season 1. Go, Janelle, go!
ReplyDeletep.s. Run, Janelle, run! Far away. Boston, perhaps.
p.p.s. Love Maddie - that girl is sharp and has a great future, perhaps starting as a best-selling author...
OK since I am new I need a few things answered, I can only watch this nasty show when my husband is not in the room ...cause he cant stand it.
ReplyDeleteOK what is with the nachos? I missed that whole thing.
and what did that vile man say to his wife about her weight?
thanks for any info I can get
I'm not sure what it is but I really really have an urge to hear the theme to Little House on the Prairie as Kody jauntly and very stupidly runs around those empty lots!lol
ReplyDeleteI get that they live an unconventional lifestyle, but I was dumbfounded by what the college tour guides said about them... using words like, "not like I expected", "normal", etc, etc. It's not like they are satanic worshipers or serial killers. Poor Logan just happens to be the child of a man, who couldn't keep it in his pants. :|
ReplyDeleteSomeone please email Dr. Phil, direct the producers to the last two episodes and to this blog. I'd love for someone to offer Christine and Janelle and kids some help. I would do it but I'm working off my phone and navigating gets tricky.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason why Kody/Meri/Robherp (and goading the younger kids to join in too) were shamelessly guilting Logan to stay local may be because it is obvious that Logan is a fan favorite for both the rabid, loyal sheeple AND also the detractors.
ReplyDeleteThey can say that no one in KodyWorld reads this blog but it is so obvious that some one or more do read it. There have been too, too many instances where a topic/observation here has been "answered/rebutted" in a couch chat or a scripted scenario in an upcoming episode.
They know that Logan is "a star" for the show and for their image. Hunter is maturing quickly too, and apparently is turned off enough to their whole stupid, phony circus that he now only agrees to camera time only if he gets to voice his real thoughts. And good for him!!
Logan has a heavy load on his shoulders. I wish Janelle had more vigorously supported him to leave if he wanted to. He shouldn't have to split his time between college and being the surrogate father for all those kids.
He DESERVES to explore life now.
Shame on all those adults who would deny him that !!!
