Sister Wives: Kids React to Baby

The kids express their true feelings regarding the new addition to the family. Will they accept Solomon as their own brother?

Or... How much does it cost to bribe teens to say what you want them to?

  1. HAHAHAHA

I am really starting to feel for Truely. No room. No special place for EVERYONE to be with her. Hell, I've never seen her held by anyone but Meri, Christine and Kody. (And of course the REAL surragate moms of Polygamy, the KIDS)

She certainly didn't get all the bells and whistles. How will she make it? Blech.

  3. This clip is very telling. Mariah is obviously a Kool Aid drinker and on the baby train. That kid will be knocked up the second she turns 18.

Interesting that Janelle's kids hold the most negative feelings about the new kid. They seem the most intelligent (not a gene that came from the Kodster, that's for sure).

  4. MORE! These kids are the most candid part of the show. Who is the boy with the really short hair, the trouble maker? Hunter? LOVE HIM! I hope he knows that his instincts are good.

Mariah has drunken the Koolaid or she is trying to irritate her siblings. Of course, the rest of them have been exposed to too-many-kids while she hasn't as much. Without her time alone with mom, wouldn't she feel the same way?

  5. Janelle's kids seem to be a bit more aware of the impact another child has on the family. Im betting because Janelle handles alot of the money matters, her kids may bit a bit more privy to the finanial details and understand that another child is taking away even more of thier finite resources

  6. Robyn is soo going to cry over this....

However, because it's TLC, you know that as soon the baby comes you know that they are going to make the kids say how much they love Solomon. At least, the adults will say the kids do. Afterall, wasn't Robyn saying on twitter before that the kids were always rubbing her belly, etc?!

  7. Poor Mariah. Towing the party line because her mother does...

She needs to take a good, hard look inside herself to figure out if she really believes what she is saying, or if she is simply doing it to gain the approval and attention of her puerile, absent father.

And I agree with you, Plot, we need to see more interviews featuring the eldest children. They offer more insight into the inner workings of this family, in one soundbite, than their parents do in an entire hour's worth of episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Maybe Meri told Mariah she needed to be a "good influence" on her siblings when it comes to accepting Robyn's kids.

I still get a kick out of seeing how they do look like siblings, but you can also tell which sister wife is their mom, especially the girls. Madison looks a lot like Janelle. Also, while people have commented that many of the older girls have put on weight, I think Madison has actually lost since earlier episodes of the show. But maybe I'm wrong.

  9. Good for you Hunter telling it like it is!

  10. ugh, doesn't it gross anyone out that it's the seed of one man, so many children from 1 man, so the polygamous society gene pool in general is pretty limited?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Baylor - oh yeah, Robyn will cry while she gets Meri to gather the whole gang up and go off on all of them like she did that one time re:Robyn's girl in a fight with one other kid. ;') Meri "King Solomon is ALL OF YOURS baby brother! And YOU WILL EACH TAKE A TURN TO GO TO ROBYN"S a WHOLE DAY AND HOLD HIM AND PLAY WITH HIM. Including Truely! AND IF ROBYN didn't have a maid, I'd make you clean her house and do her laundry every day, too!"

  12. For me, this clip makes it crystal clear that the older kids haven't accepted Robyn as their fourth mom, so therefore, they aren't loving the fact that she's bringing another baby into this mess. I agree that the other wives will probably make their kids go over to Robyn's and help out whether they want to or not - unless Robyn gets tired of getting up in the middle of the night and farms Solomon out to Meri's house.

And regarding Baylor's comment about Robyn crying over that clip - LOL! You think?:)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hunter is my hero! He's gonna be a good man. I think he is a LOT smarter, sensitive and thoughtful than Johnny Appleseed.

Maybe those kids feel bad for Christine and poor Truely.

    ReplyDelete
  14. How blind Kody and Robyn are - and how foolish for this family to take in a 4th wife after raising children only after all 3 wives had been married and were all together.

These poor kids only know having 3 moms so that is normal to them but it is really cruel at this point to make these older kids accept a 4th wife and act like she's their mom.

OF COURSE they aren't happy over this and neither is Mariah - she was the one crying in the bathroom when she found out Robyn was pregnant. Mariah has just bought into the whole thing - probably because she is her Mother's only child and had more attention than the other ones did.

  15. Poor Hunter. Can I adopt him? These poor kids, it just seems like they are getting lost in the mix. They never get one-on-one attention. Those are the best moments and memories, the one-on-ones. I know Hunter is big into sports and I'm wondering if his Dad goes to his games and takes him to practices and whatnot. Surely he can't. Ugh, it kills me. There is no way these kids will not hold any resentment towards him later on in life.

  17. It would be kind of weird for kids their ages to be a gaga over a baby. There is no reason why they should now or at any time in the future feel like a brother/sister to one 13-15 years younger than themselves. What relationship? The three kids Robyn brought in are no their brothers and sisters at. They are nothing to them. Not half-sibs or step-sibs or anything. I think the tweens and teens are behaving normally.

  24. Christine,
YOU didn't cause the family any harm. KODY did. Robyn did too. Remember, how she was kissing Kody when you were in labor despite knowing how you felt about them kissing outside of marriage?! Come on! Robyn is the one who should be apologizing and so should Kody!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Agree with Baylor - Meri should be apologizing for inviting Kody to "court" Robyn also. After all those years of being a family together it was NOT right to pull another, younger, needy mother into the mix. And this is yet another reason why polygamy does not work. I don't blame the older kids at all for their feelings. They were so much better off before Robyn entered the picture. And Christine, if Kody didn't act like a hormonal teenager around Robyn you would not have had cause to entertain those thoughts.

  26. I would just hate to see the 'christine' clip later used in their lawsuit against Utah-we already see her need for anti anxiety and anti depressives going to route of 'needed meds because of the supposed police investigation and the later on 'move in the night' to Nevada. Yes, I can see Kodouche giving one of his understand his wives speech-'Well, Christine was SO ANXIOUS, SO UPSET over the threat of arrest, the family being split apart (and they never would be in contact EVER AGAIN, just like her grandpa and his wives..)and the move we HAD TO DO IN 3 DAYS TO NEVADA (or it would not have been the ratings grabber it was!)that she was not herself. Because of the ACTIONS OF THE D.A. AND THE POLICE... Christine has been taking EVERYTHING OUT on (my precious, darling, NOW FAVORITE wife) Robyn. She was IMAGINING that I give Robyn more time, that I kiss her in front of the others, and that I really want to be with Robyn then with my 3 other grossly obese wives.. Hey, can we cut out the grossly obese bit, I really did not say that, it was all because of the police investigation that those words seem to come out of my mouth. Okay, but we all did a group trip to this Dr. who is now one of my bestest buds, and he gave Christine these medications to make her (zone out like a zombie, agree with all MY ideas and smile all the time) much better, much much better. She says she is weaning herself off, but 'we'got a supply if 'we' (I) ever see her being MEAN to Robyn again.Or I see her happy to be going to those workouts with Trainer Bob.

  27. Kody-'Man, I just saw that video where some of my kids, Not my koolaid drinking Mariah, or 'I'll do anything for approval'Logan, but JANELLE'S OTHER KIDS who said things that I, uhm WE do not approve of. We said that Hunter and Madison WERE BETTER, so they did not actually say they were not happy about the baby, no, you all 'non aub mormons' do not understand what they said. This is the problem we have, if you are not part of our religion, and 'WE DO NOT FOLLOW JEFF WARRENS, what he did was wrong,'... you just CAN'T UNDERSTAND everything we say. And you can't understand the meaning of the words we say, because you fear us. What Hunter, 'who is no longer a timebomb' and Madison, 'who dyed her hair in protest of Nevada, even though it was dyed MONTHS' before we went, said was THEY LOVE SOLOMON more then ANYOTHER OF THEIR SIBLINGS, more than the siblings they live with. They actually said, if you all just listened without FEAR, that they plan to move over to robyn's and be her full time nannies for Solomon.

    ReplyDelete
  28. and after Kody denies this ever came out of their mouths ( or he will somehow incorporate their views into 'it is the fault of the police investigation'), He will send Meri over to set them straight, while he stands idolly by and then he can pronounce 'I was just about to CORRECT the two of them, but Meri beat me too it. They are soo lucky it was not me, I was so angry, I don't know what I would have done.'(and really he would not have known what he would have done-the wives do the disciplining).

  29. PLease, anon posters, do not say things about one of the teens looking pregnant. Should they read here or hear of it from other, they will be very hurt. That is not a kind thing to do, and no good will come of it.

  30. Mariah has definitely partaken of the sacred Koolaid. Hunter, though, has his head on straight. I bet as soon as he turns 18 he'll get the hell out of Dodge.

  32. I think most of these comments are HILARIOUS!!! Obviously, 1)these people did not grow up in the rural areas or in big families. Although my parents are not polygymist, we were raised by other church members or family members. We had a huge extended family and were often working together on someone's farm. Being shoved into the city I think is the hardest part for these kids AND 2) do any of you have teens? If you did you would know that part of what they are experiencing and portraying is part of adolescents. A need to distance ourselves from the adults, the struggle to find our identity -- even in some instances such as Mariah, teens will even identify with the adults. (By the way, I am a mother of a teens and a middle school teacher.)I hope you guys are not parents because I feel for your kids.

  33. Isn't there a law or something that makes the money the children earn go into some account that holds until they are 18 If they work in this industry? Or is that just me thinking that's what I would do if my child had his life exposed on TV. I keep hearing the song "I'm standing in the middle of the road with my pants behind me." play through my head when I watch this clip, I feel some of them of have lost hope, feel like they lost a parent and in a way they have, Kody totally has given a lot of his time to Robyn and her children and to hell with the rest of the wives and children. Why you say? Because Robyn makes herself appear incompetent and weak so Kody feels the big strong man who saves her, he is so ignorant to this fact that he doesn't realize he is being played. The kids get it though, they get it real good. It's to the point when she opens her mouth I cringe or want to turn the channel, but thanks to tevo I can just skip past her:)

  35. No, Kody was not googling...look at the top, it was tweeted by : LovemylifeLove6, then retweeted to Kody by the Darger family. Sorry, I don't know how to post photo/tweets, so I just cut and pasted it. Sorry for the confusion. I think it's interesting that the Darger family and the Browns tweet back and forth constantly tho. Also Rev Danielle tweeted to Robyn on Thanksgivnig that she was so thankful for 'doing homework with Aurora, holding Soloman, and having dinner...'. What a stalker!! That women is creepy if you ask me.

  36. Anon 12:04, Sorry but children do see and understand more than we think, it's not always just simply "being adolescent." I substitute teach and am a volunteer Big Sister and it really is unbelievable how much hurt children feel over not having that one-on-one time with each parent. It really is devastating and speaking from my own experience, just having both parents there does not necessarily mean that they both spend individual time, which is sad because that is how you get to know and enjoy your child for who they are instead of just knowing them as your child. It creates resentment , rightfully so.

Well, I am a parent of 5 GREAT kids, all turned out GREAT, so yes, I am a parent, and a damn good one. I don't understand how you can like what we are saying, and then slam us.
This blog has not a lot to do with how ANY of us parent... more with seeing and not liking the religion and hypocrisy of the Browns.

I don't think any of us have belittled the fact that the Brown children work for their grandparents in the summer on their ranches. That's a very good thing for them to do as they get time with their grandparents, uncles, etc and get a good work ethic. I don't think most of us have been derogatory towards the brown children (with the exception of those that over-criticize their weight or certain one's tendancy to cry). And we tend to police others about that.

I have had two teens. We can be critical of the Brown's lifestyle and still notice that teens, in general, don't get along with their parents. I see nothing wrong with the way the Brown children treat their parents, and a lot right. But, teen separation is not the only issue the Brown teens have with their parents. The teens are savvy enough to understand money issues, banruptcy, low work ethics, etc. And they are savvy enought to realize that part of their money issues are related to this and part is related to the polyg lifestyle. They realized that before they moved from Lehi to Las Vegas. I bet the older ones realized it before they moved TO Lehi since they were pre-teens by then. They also probably realize that most people who grew up in a rural lifesty;e have a HIGH work ethic, are careful with their money, and don't believe in polygamy. Hence Kody's constant worry about his Mom and people in her town accepting her.

  39. Hunter is very much a teenager, so his comments don't surprise me. While I agree with him that there are too many kids in the family, the fact is that the baby was already on its way and there's no point in complaining about it. What's done is done. Mariah showed some maturity in her comments, which I respected.

  42. luvmeknot,

Since Reality Shows are designed to get around all the union and legal requirements of regularly produced TV, it's a mystery how much children make on these shows. It's a secret, for the most part, between the parents and the production companies. There has been lots of speculation on how much the Goss children were compensated, seeing as they were the major draw of that show. No one truly knows. The children's pay was probably bundled into Kate's compensation, not independent trusts.

If it was a normal TV show or movie, the kids would be protected legally from long working hours or parental pillaging of their wages. Reality Shows don't follow those rules.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wow, these are just parents of the year putting their teens out like this. Kody needs to be fixed or something. Obviously, he can't handle it.

Nobody needs this many kids/baby mamas. Kody is disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  44. plot,

    Thanks for the info.

It would be nice if these kids were getting some compensation set aside in their names for college, but if it is left up to the parents to do it I'm not sure that's going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think the whole thing is sad. Teenagers ultimately just want to be left alone and to let them live their lives. This is the time they are supposed to be exploring who they are and with parents help, become well rounded adults. How are they supposed to find themselves when they've been uprooted from everything they have ever known? Then throw in a (and it pains me to say this but it is pretty damned obvious) a cute, needy, thin 4th wife who now has brought yet another distraction/baby for kody into the world. These kids need a father! Especially Hunter God love him. He's doing everything a 14 year old knows how to do to get attention
which comes out in anger. I hope you guys are right about his intuitivness. I knew he had Robyn figured out from the beginning yet who
didn't really. She's very co dependent and she
hit the enabling jackpot with kody and now meri. Poor meri is so desperate for attention that she has taken Robyn and formed this
relationship that is looking not so healthy. I think she's having trouble with boundaries viewing solomon as the baby she never had.
And then Robyn seals the ultimate co
dependent deal by wanting to be meri's
surrogate. In kody's eyes, This puts Robyn in forever "better" wife status" for
giving #1 wife the ultimate gift. And in wife #1's eyes she will be
Infallible. So Christine and Janelle...who are they again? This family is a psychs wet dream. I truely hope they all come out ok.

  46. Dear Heavenly Father,
We are all far from perfect and I tend to use my mouth too much on this blog. Bu I am so frustrated for the future generation of this family. I pray for ALL of these children. It may be painful, but may them see the light, come to you, learn what real Christianity is. PLEASE for their sake, let me read in 10 years that they all CHOSE not to be in the AUB, and are with one spouse.
    Amen.

    (Deadly serious above)

It makes me sick these kids are chastised on national TV (Mykelti, I think) for GASP showing their arms. Wanting to swim like regular kids. But this NON related woman can have their fathers children and show her belly, breast, stretch marks, (I am surprised the didn't have a "Kody Cam" shoved up her cootch) and told they don't have the mental capacity to make good decisions. Lord help them

    ReplyDelete
  47. GagMe, I agree! She shouldn't get in trouble for showing her arms. The summer here is brutal! I'm self-conscious and hate wearing shorts, but when it gets past 100, I don't even care anymore. I feel bad for them, they are going to be wishing they were of a different faith after a couple more summers.
And yea, Robyn's belly didn't need to be shown.
