S03E12 Sisters' Special Delivery - DISCUSSION AREA "Sister Wives"

Sister Wives  - Sisters' Special Delivery

The Sister Wives are buzzing with excitement as Robyn's first contractions finally kick in. But not everyone is happy about it. The emotion builds as each of the Browns face their true feelings about Robyn's family becoming their own.

WOW~~~ It's hard to believe the Finale is here! It's been a wild ride this season ending with Robyn's delivery..... which we are sure is filled with enough gooey emotion to cause you to gain 2lbs just watching it!! WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Another 60 minute program! Cynical Jinx will be taking extra time this week to work....her Best Magic, there are many new posts below to chew on below that we want to hear your thoughts on, too....and I'll throw in this little point to ponder........

I'll let you all figure this out.
Have they ACTUALLY even filed for a business license...or even started this gig, or realized right before the show aired that Fundamental Fitness was already a chain, and filed to reserve the name! Your call....

DON'T FORGET to look back through the past few days posts' if you haven't already. We want to hear what you think about the Canadian denial and 2 great statical posts of how much time Kody actually spends with each family member. Breaking it down proves a point. Not a real attentive dad or father. Be sure and comment!

  1. Can't wait for next season already...mostly because of this site!

I finally figured out how to post with a name so anon no more!!

  2. The numbers have it...so many comments in the blogeshere over the years that polgymany hurts no one, is a simple celebration of family, is a higher calling. That is a sample of what I have stumbled upon since HBO ran Big Love, a fictional soapy polygamy show. ......I really never stopped to think about it, just focused on my own family, along w/ work.... I would enjoy taking a break from work or family and watch a show here & there.....Now, I am seeing some dots connect in common sense....When it comes to children and having face time with mom and dad.........No matter how goofy Kody shakes it, time is finite & the growing ratios say it all......Check in on the kids in 2, 5, 10 years.....I enjoy the show, it is a guilty pleasure, what a hoot.

  4. You have touched on a good point WDIKILIV. The pro-polygamists are trying to tie together polygamy and family and trying to make it seem as though those who oppose polygamy are anti-family (probably those wicked lefty feminists who are anti-marriage, too, LOL). However, when the issues and facts are laid out for all to see, those who oppose polygamy are, usually, pro-family (both pro-women and pro-men, and most importantly pro-children).

  5. Lately I've been coming to this blog to see not only the new posts but also the new designs. :) I like this one.

I've asked this before and I'll ask again- any news about a next season? I don't have a television so I don't get to see how much the show is promoted, but didn't we know about this season before last season ended?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I don't think there's any issue with them using the DBA "Fundamental Fitness" - there are a lot of other personal trainers using that as a business name, and they don't seem to be inter-related, just a coincidence. As long as someone else didn't copyright the name I think? This has happened before in reality TV though - remember the Rock Star reality competition, S2 with Tommy Lee, etc, looking for a vocalist for their supergroup (members of Metallica, Guns N Roses, etc etc) the name of the group was going to be Supernova, but a band in SoCal who had been using the name (and recording) since the 1980's filed and got an injunction against the TV show, which changed the band name to Rock Star Supernova (cheesy).

it will be interesting to see if any of the existing users of the DBA Fundamental Fitness decide to file against the Browns and/or TLC... hmmm

  7. anon 11:03--If I can remember correctly we did not know at last season's finale if there would be a new season. There has been no word of a 4th season, at least not that I have heard. I would bet money there will be though. They've only begun to pimp themselves out.

As for DBA as Fundamental Fitness. Really. You should not name your biz after a chain. I can open a mexican restaurant named Taco Bell but I'm pretty sure that the real TB people would shut that down pretty fast.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Just a quick question. The file date is 11/20/11. The expiration date is 2/20/12. Is it common to only file for a business license for 6 months? Is it a trial period? Anyone know?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Had another question - I know someone else asked this about whether there would be a season 4. Has anyone looked at the tv ratings for this season? I am wondering if they have dropped at all. I would have thought TLC would have announced their renewals, but maybe not. I just don't know how long Sister Wives can hold on - there isn't that much drama, except the really scripted parts from TLC. What would be next?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Kody's business ideas are so half-assed. The Las Vegas real estate market isn't just flat, it's sinking. Is he trying to appeal to other Fundamentalists with this gym idea? Yeah, Curves tried that already with a pyramid structure (within franchising) and it's not working out so well.

Kody must believe that people will come out in droves to support him and Family Values. Two of his wives worked in the public sector. Two never worked. Kody was a salesman. None of them have any idea how business works and TLC ain't helping.

If Kody thinks that his cult of personality and public support of his wholesome family will make him a good business, he is woefully mistaken.

I'd love to know if Kody, as a divine priest holder, received a revelation to move to Nevada and what business to start. Not sure of the particulars, but Mormon men talk to their god all the time to receive direction. THIS is the kind of question I want Kody to answer. Utah is the fraud capital of the USA. Often, it's because Mormon men speak to their god before investing rather than researching. Their success is directly connected to the Will of the Divine. God wants them to be rich and successful, so they trust in his revelations. That's how I understand it and would love to know what place these revelations have in Kody's life.

And what divine message did he receive to marry Robyn. Yeah, that's personal. But the man put his family out there for the world to see. I want some justification on a fundamental level, dang it!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I was thinking that most the shows are filmed and then air 3 mos later. So if the stuff about starting a biz with Trainer Bill was in August, why in the name of Peter would they wait until NOVEMBER 20th to file for the name?

And the 20th was a Sunday. Is the Secretary of State even open on a Sunday? Ours sure isn't!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I watched a little of SW today until the cumulative effect nausiated (sp?)me, as usual. Anywho, do these people ever think of anyone but themselves? Everyone uses me and I so frequently. How about "Christine's kids, Janelle's kids (Kadoufus stands out as the biggest offender) etc? One of the "perks" is supposed to be all the extra parents. Hypocrites!!

As for the pool party episode that ran today, where to start? Teenage girls and boys swimming together? Shocking!

As for screening friends from school and their parents to be sure they are good enough for the teens? What universe are the adults living in? They should be grateful the kids and parents came. I wouldn't, and my kids would go over my dead body.

On a snarkier note, I finally got to see the frontal lobe and we're killing ourselves for this religion/life, whatever episodes! Hilarious!

  13. There are references in many articles that pyramid schemes aka pyramid bussiness models are common and accepted bussiness strategies in Fundamental or ultra conservative sects/ groups........Pyramids are attempted again and again until one fizzles out.........nothing new or creative just a tried and usually short- lived venture.

    ReplyDelete
  14. If they are attempting to build family time and a sense of community, they need to be creative and spend time together as a familyvolunteering.....they could sing at a nursing home, do landscaping or build a ramp for a disbled neighbor, or volunteer as a family with Habitat for Humanity and paint a house.......Also in Vegas, Grafitti paint outs are community service projects for kids and moms....Kody could drive them.

I really enjoy reading the blog comments but would like to ask the moderator (or whoever sets the text) to please return to an easy to read font.

The new one is hard on the eyes. Anyone else feel that way, or is it just me?

Thanks Mister Sister - I did enjoy the background colors, however. It is all good.

Just a comment. I recently learned that there are no taxes in the State of Nevada... at least not state taxes, because the state is supported by the casinos (? not sure of these facts... just checking to see what anyone else knows.) Wealthy friends of ours chose to live there for this reason (a tax haven, of sorts) but I am not sure how this would affect the Browns.. unless they start making some decent money in their ventures.

    ReplyDelete
  19. What kind of form is this? No type of business, no money, no assets, only valid for 3 months, Nov to Feb. It only reserves the name for 3 months to Janelle.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Catherine, your post prompted me to do a search about business taxes in Nevada and I found this list of advantages:

    No personal income tax
    No corporate income tax
    No gross receipts tax
    No franchise tax
    No inventory tax
No tax on issuance of corporate shares
No requirements of shareholders & directors to live in Nevada
No tax on sale or transfer of shares
No succession or inheritance with IRS
No sharing of information with IRS
    Simple annual requirements
    Protection for Directors and Officers
No initial or minimum capital requirements
    Anonymity of owners-Total Privacy
    Low property taxes
    Business friendly environment

If I didn't hate Vegas so much, this sounds very enticing because California (where I live) has the highest taxes in the country and it is very business unfriendly. The financial problems of this state are a prime example of what happens when Democrats run things (and I'm a Democrat). It's a complete mess.

I don't know if I can stay up to watch this show tonight (it is usually on at 6:00 p.m. west coast time but tonight is on at 9:00 p.m.) so can you all comment about what happens? I know Mister Sister doesn't want you to, but some of us can't stay up that late.

  21. Watching right now.

Aspyn is straightening her hair and likes Vegas. Paedon, Christine's son, is not happy and "struggling."

Robyn was sorting baby clothes. She claims that Paedon was harassing Day-On. But now Paedon is not bullying Day-On because Christine had a talk with him about how DayOn could choose to leave.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm in Calif, and the show is on now on TLCHD.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Meri had a talk with Mariah and Mariah said she felt like she is faking it sometimes and she is not happy with it. Mariah-"First time I ever met Robyn we were at ...(not sure)....anad I was like 'i think dad's going to marry her' and ever since that its just like she's my mom."

Robyn has a contraction outside the midwife office. *yawn*

Robyn says "Solomon has kind of a big job, he's everybody's little brother. I feel like Solomon knows he's got a big family that loves him."

Midwife says "He's comin' soon"....riiiight. Maybe when she is 48 weeks pregnant. ha.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Heaven help us. After the commercial break they are going to show robyn in the bed and kody looking at her hoo-hah saying "There's my little boy, I see him."

    Yuck.

That video is crap you keep to yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh good trainer Bill shows up to impart his wisdom. "Uh..duh..der...location."

Christine is the voice of rationale when she says she feels self-conscious opening up a gym.

SW have been having lunches together frequently. Oh crap. Robyn just said "You guys I never had SISTA WIVEEES before." You thought her baby voice was annoying, wait till you hear that one!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Loving this! So Meri said she was faking it and Mariah has drunk ALL the Robyn Koolaid? Is that what you meant...got a bit confused there.

    ReplyDelete
  27. So how long will it be beofre Solomon has another sibling...and another....and another...sad when a teenager is the voice of reason when there are 4 adults that should be present...then again Janelle seems to be the only reasonable one

    ReplyDelete
  28. Probably not long. I wish one of the others would have one!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I must have missed something being the non-religious person that I am. 1/2 way through the show - and I am feeling like Solomon's birth is being equated to the second coming of Christ. Or the birth of the next king of England.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Meri just confessed to not having a close relationship with her other sister wives until Robyn came along - talk about a "bitch" slap.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Watching Now said...

Christine is the voice of rationale when she says she feels self-conscious opening up a gym.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAH

    ReplyDelete
  32. Mister Sister---sorry for confusion. Meri reports that Mariah said she feels she (mariah) is faking it. Was trying to type fast to get all this info out there!

In other news, Robyn's dad is here for the birth.

Also in a wide shot of her in her room you can see TONS of jewelry on the dresser. Could it be another product placement? Do they sell jewelry now? Only time will tell.

Oh now we can hear her groaning in labor. I love babies but just really don't want to see this. I will sacrifice and watch for you so I can report back. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  33. ok, so Meri thinks Mariah is faking it. cool!

Where is she having him? On her bed? Really? I have to listen to her groan? Lord, suck it up util it's pushing time. You know she had drugs even through she's not supposed to!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Flashback to Kody kissing Robyn while Christine was in labor.

Meri stops by to bring a camera to Robyn/Kody.

Robyn's dad is named Paul. Is he plyg, do we know?

    ReplyDelete
  35. LOL Anon. Yep, on the bed.

Mariah confessed to feeling like she (Mariah) is faking it. She told this to Meri. I don't know what Meri's opinion is, just that Mariah is having a hard time.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Groan, not really. Soft gutteral moaning. Which of course does not make it better.

There was a flashback to Meri & Kodi's trip to Mexico with him talking to her about invitro and a flashback of Christine in labor with Kodi kissing Robyn goodbye. Kodi talking about how he had to kiss Robyn goodbye after they had just gotten engaged because his other wife was in labor. Frankly, I thought he sounded resentful.

Kody talking about him and Meri sharing love and the family sharing love with regards to Solomon's birth. This is just gross.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Kody keeps telling her "breathe. breathe. breathe." Someone kick him in the nuts.

More groaning. Which is prob what it sounded like when Sol was conceived and I will need therapy after this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Poor Christine, she laments having been upset that Kody has been playing favorites with Robyn, and is a whiny baby poopy pants about not being 100% in favor of drinking the Robyn Koolaid. CHRISTINE! That is a normal emotion to have when you share your husband with three other women! This is why polygamy does not work! You should not be apologizing for having emotions that are natural in this emotionally abusive situation. I can almost just see her repeating her mantra mentally "Keep sweet...must keep sweet...I hate Robyn AHHH! No! I mustn't think that... I must keep sweet!Keep sweet..." Sigh...She would be so much happier with trainer Bill....

    ReplyDelete
  39. Meri confesses to not being as excited about Truely's birth.

didn't one of Christine's kids move in with Meri - what a bitch thing to say.

    ReplyDelete
  40. what... Kody is talking like he RESENTED leaving Robyn that time (we saw it, she was already moved to Lehi)... they were engaged in her Other town!

Is Cynical Jinx going to win a writing award for this one, are they giving her good stuff?

    ReplyDelete
  41. And THAT folks is what a newborn baby looks like. I'll be damned, he looks a lot older in the "2 hr" pics of him they eventually released. Just sayin.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Durp on my part.....thanks for telling me about TLCHD. My DVR was already recording it too...

Also, Mr. Sister/Terrasola/etc - I was just going through Christine's bankruptcy papers and saw something interesting. She lists a class action law suit under the law suit/legal proceeding section. I looked this up and it was a class action against a telemarketer company for unpaid overtime. It seems that good ole Christine was trying to get money from this class action law suit when her income from 2008, 2009, and 2010 all was under $5k.

These people know no bounds of scamming.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think I am more disturbed by the preview of TLC's new show about Virgins....the view of the couple who waited til their wedding day to share their first kiss, poor guy- his bride was chewing his lips off...what has happened to TLC and their programming!? Back to the 2nd coming(loved that!) Oopss mean birth of the baby, and Robyns dad being her coach and such I love my dad...but he knew when it was time to give birth,he was not in the front lines...seems like there is no boundaries in their world...and the whole thing of 'bringing love energy' by hugging and kissing another woman while the other is giving birth? You mean to tell me,he cant even concentrate on the kid coming out of the shoot or the wife pushing..its like he has ADD or something...all I know is,I can never have a straight thought when I comment on this site, because I get so flustered with the hypocrisy, stupidity and whatever other word you can think of when it comes to this guy...also there is alot of divide and picking and choosing of who likes who for a family that lives to be together,or so they say...

    ReplyDelete
  44. For the love of god.... CHRISTINE, run in and KISS HIM!

Do you all see how F$%^& up these ladies are suppressing their feelings? WHY is a baby with Robyn so much more special?

    ReplyDelete
  45. It's so hard to take Kody seriously when he SO needs a haircut but is too vain to show people his receding hairline. (something he has even admitted) Kody even made the birth of Solomon all about him, when Robyn so beautifully and humbly did all the work.

    ReplyDelete
  46. This is sad. Really sad. Honestly, I can't imagine being Janelle or Christine. There is no way the birth of their children were treated like this. If I was Christine or Janelle, I would be packing my bags and heading out of dodge while the douchbag and his new 'ho are wrapped up in this birth. Meri is obviously staying behind to play the part of nurse maid.

    ReplyDelete
  47. KodysLexus JanellesJalopyNovember 27, 2011 at 9:51 PM

I just want to get this straight.....the SW go on and on about dressing modestly and refusing to talk about sex, but we have to endure watching Robyn giving birth in her nightie (ohhh, naked upper arms!) and looking at her milky white inner thighs? Oh, my eyes!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Off the subject, but is Truely okay? Does anyone else think she often looks sickly and why is she bald?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Lets watch robin nurse! How modest!

    ReplyDelete
  50. 1. This will make me dislike (nice toight, huh?) Robyn even more.
    2. WHY does Meri like her so much, even when she essentially has replaced Meri as his favorite?
    3. PLEASE RUN MERI

    ReplyDelete
  51. Aww Dayton is sweet. I like him.

It shows Robyn breastfeeding. Why is that okay but heaven forbid they show and ELBOW. Double standard.

Meri and Mariah are the first ones there to see the new baby. Mariah looks genuinely excited about it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Are you sure that's a bed she's laying in? Not a bale of hay? Is a manger near by? 3 wise men?

    ReplyDelete
  53. anony... Truely is like Kody's other kiddos... a blondie. She may actually have thick hair someday. Blondies take a long time to come in.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The music is playing "our savior king" - no f-ing shit - told you, told you, told you.....the second coming.

    It's official.....I hate Robyn.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Aww Hunter just kissed Truely.

Now Robyn says "Hunter is a little hesitant with me and I've been hurt by it. With his whole place of he's not sure that I'm his mom or his dad's wife. Maybe he's just trying to figure this whole thing out."

Janelle did come to see the baby. All the kids are there taking turns holding him. He is a cute baby.

Hunter is going to hold the baby.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Robyn offers to be Meri's surrogate.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Robyn asks Meri if she wants her to be her surrogate.

    Season 4.

    ReplyDelete
  58. "our Savior king" is that a normal church song I should know or a Mormon one.
WHY on god's green earth is this kid special?

    ReplyDelete
  59. LOL Anne at the music!

    ReplyDelete
  60. KodysLexus JanellesJalopyNovember 27, 2011 at 10:01 PM

Lol. To Anonymous 9:55! Did you notice how the song they played had the words "Savior King" and they focused on Kody?!?

Oh, Robyn...offering to be Meri's surrogate? Way to cement yourself in the family!!! Victoria's Secret debt forgotten!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I honestly think Robyn is being sincere and means very well. It might be a terrific solution for Meri's "empty arms", but it will be yet another mouth to feed and more people to divide with Kody's time.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Wow, I gotta say Robyn is definitely redeeming herself . I can't believe that she offered to be Meri's surrogate. I think that is a very loving and considerate thing for her to do. Good job Robyn.

    ReplyDelete
  63. The refrain I believe says "our savior king", I will have to find the exact title of the song. It was the point, listen to the words -

I needed a moment before I commented further on the surrogate issue. I am not sure if surrogacy is permitted in the Mormon religion, maybe someone else can answer that or I can try to find the answer. I am thinking with the tenet that having children is part of the way into the celestial kingdom and that all plural marriages are essential one big family - what is the point in Robyn being a surrogate to Meri.

And in that case, this is just cruel.

    ReplyDelete
  64. To Melissa, I caught the new "Virgin" preview, too. Oh my gravy! He was gobbling her face! Did you see his dad or his new dad-in-law laugh?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Surrogate????surrogate???? I thought she would ask her to be Solomons God-mother or something.....what else would it of been, other than Robyn to be the Savior( still trying to process the choice of music they played) anyway....guess they had to save something big for a cliff hanger,I had my last 2 babies 16 months apart,it is hard on your body....and that was not planned to have them that close in age(our baby turned 10 today) I would not know how to feel about that whole thing, she is (Robyn) seems to always bring right back around to her, enjoy the birth of your child rather than offering your uterus to another...

    ReplyDelete
  66. NOW, that would be cool. I would like that if Robyn DID do that, but Meri better hurry, those eggs are not getting any younger. THAT might make me like her a tad.

    ReplyDelete
  67. So... were they honest, is the baby as big as the pics? Or was this filmed prior to the pics?

WHY would you offer up to be a surrogate if your not even sewn up from having a baby?

AND....TROY ANNE FREE AND CLEAR SOMEONE! Please tell me if Robyn was being sincere or just a B, could she do this in the AUB?

    ReplyDelete
  68. WOAH! I think surrogate talk could have waited till a more appropriate time. Why not bask in the glow of the new little fella and enjoy him and only him for a bit?! But not with the Browns,oh no...Onto the next child! I guess there is no time like right after birthing a child to present the hook/ratings booster for the next season. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I am sure Cynical will give us a complete report on the AUB and surrogacy, so ever fear!LOL
Heck as good as this sounds, I may write one too!

  77. I love this sight so much and can not get ENOUGH of it! Watching tonight made me hate Robyn even MORE than I thought possible! How is it that she can be so crafty as to propose surrogacy to redeem her in the eyes of the fans of the show? Like we can't see through the diabolical and perhaps "scripted?" plan formulated by TLC???

But let's be real. We can't stop watching! This is juicy stuff!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Anyone else notice Meri's shiny new vehicle? I think she totally deserves it. She had that other piece of junk since at least season 1 and it was getting very old. Notice that they really aren't worrying about money anymore... Buying land for the four separate homes, the wives lunching everyday, and I bet if Meri got a new vehicle the others got ones as well. I think it's great that they are getting money from he show, but the. They shouldn't be including their baby registry online for fans to help out on.

  84. This family has no boundaries.... Kody asking about IVF for Meri, and kissing Robin... both while Christine is in labor. Kody kissing Meri, in Robins house, while Robin is in labor a few feet away, Robin offering surrogacy when she won't be able to do it for months... and just after she gave birth.

And, 25 people holding that baby when it is less than a day old

Why does Meri still think she wants kids? Mariah is 16 and she is 40.... has she thought about how old she would be when the next one is 18?

And, Robin, going on about Hunter.... he is hesitant about her, that's not the same as full out hating her guts..... does she not know the difference? These teens are more mature than their parents.

  85. *Anne,
I do believe that's the exact hymn. Guess the words about welcoming children were appropriate.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Ladies I understand your hilarity about the music "savior King" and the shot of Kody. Too close to the truth though unfortunately. Read this - (and it's still taught today in AUB.) It's taken from early Mormon teachings

""Do the women, when they pray, remember their husbands?... Do you uphold your husband before God as your lord? 'What!--my husband to be my lord?' I ask, Can you get into the celestial kingdom without him? Have any of you been there? You will remember that you never got into the celestial kingdom [during the temple ceremony] without the aid of your husband. If you did, it was because your husband was away, and some one had to act proxy for him. No woman will get into the celestial kingdom, except her husband receives her, if she is worthy to have a husband; and if not, somebody will receive her as a servant." (LDS Apostle Erastus Snow preached the following on Sunday, Oct. 4, 1857, Journal of Discourses, vol.5, p.291)

  91. I loved it when Hunter kissed Truly. When he gave in and held the baby, you could see that Hunter has a huge heart.

I thought the timing was appropriate for Robyn to put that option on the table for Meri. Robyn had safely delivered a baby for Kody. She had no complications and the baby is fine. As Meri was holding Sol, I'm sure she was aching for another of her own and wishing he was her own. Robyn planted the seed while Meri was the most tender towards the idea. I felt that Robyn was sincere and really wants Meri to take her up on the offer.

  93. Anonymous 10:34 I don't think I would have minded the song in another set of circumstances. It is a beautiful song and quite appropriate for welcoming a child. I think where I had the issue was the Solomon's birth being treated so differently from Kody's other children - I know the tv show is an extenuating variable, but surely some of those children cannot comprehend this. All they know is how utterly "special" this baby is in comparison to them.

I just looked up some info on surrogacy - the LDS frowns heavily upon it -while they leave the choice to the individual, they make it clear that they are responsible for any "mess" they create in the next life - whatever that means.

I can't find anything on the AUB - and really, don't they often change the "rules" to suit themselves?

  96. I have to admit. I cried when Robyn and Meri were hugging and talking about surrogacy. However, then I thought about her constant comments about another wife being pregnant being a reminder of the physical intimacy b/w your husband and another woman. Perhaps, it is better for Robyn in her mind that she be a suggorate because then she gets all the attention and loving from Kody, and doesn't have to think about Kody having sex with another wife. Plus, after Robyn gets to have this labor experience with Kody yet again, she then hands the baby off to Robyn for all the hard work. So, perhaps not as selfless as first appears...

Janelle, you're my favorite, but if Hunter doesn't want to be filmed while he's eating in the kitchen, let the poor boy be and kick the cameras to the curb!

  100. A on the surrogacy plan ... Cody would have to "abstain" from Robyn for some period of time to see if the procedure took. With his overabundance of love for wifey #4, how could he be trusted to do just that?

Wow! A lot to comment on:

I do also wonder if Meri is a candidate for surrogacy with Robyn -- And I think that was a very nice thing for Robyn to offer... but found it interesting that she waited until after she cemented herself into the family with her own child with Kody before offering (I believe I heard her say that she had been thinking of offering surrogacy for Meri since the beginning! Let me know if any of you with the taped version can review that conversation)

I thought Kody's choice of words was often a little off. For example, when the baby was born he said something like: "he looks like my babies" (?) and "you can have a baby for me anytime" (this was a little quiet so I am not sure I heard right". It just seemed like he was not really recognizing that Robyn is his wife and this is his baby on some level.

And I didn't like when he said (after hours of Robyn enduring labor) "there is my boy" all while Robyn is gracefully pushing. I would have thought there would be more comments like "Here comes our little boy". Perhaps I am being overly critical.

And yes - between the surrogacy idea and the new housing development..not to mention the fitness center, they are definitely setting the stage for season 4.

  104. While I would NEVER want my Dad to be in the delivery room (and he wouldn't want to be there either!) I thought it was sweet that Robyn's dad was present. Does anyone know anything about her mom? I missed the wedding episode.

And as far as modesty, I'm one of the biggest hypocrites there is on that one. I am very modest, but I have no problem nursing in public. If my baby is hungry, I feed him/her. (I try to be discreet, but I don't use those "Hooter Hider" capes either.) I didn't have a problem with Robyn openly nursing the baby, but I was surprised at her choice of nighty for delivery and that they didn't even try to hide her thighs.

  107. Someone asked about surrogacy and AUB. Can't remember that question coming up but can't think of any teachings that would be against it. It's only my opinion, but I don't think that Meri really wants another baby now anyway - she didn't react favorably to the in vitro idea. And as for Robyn offering surrogacy - that certainly gives her one up on the other women. I think she has an eye out for the camera, even after giving birth!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Kat, you're right. Kody would have to abstain from Robyn to be sure that it is Meri's baby. Maybe that will be a selling point for the other wives to jump in on this idea! It would go something like this: "Well Robyn, there's just no need for you to be with Kody for the next few nights and just to be sure, we're going to keep you locked up in this closet over at Christine's house while Kody is locked up in Janelle's."

    ReplyDelete
  109. At this stage I really don't think Meri wants to be saddled with another child for 18 years. But watch, she will be pressured to agree to Robyn's plan for the show and the ratings and the "good of the family." And I bet the Kodster started the whole idea.

    ReplyDelete
  110. AMEN FreeAndClear - I think Robyn knows how to "work it". That's how she remains Cody's Favorite and now it would seem she wants to become SW's favorite.

  116. Sister Wives is a very disturbing and disgusting show for me to watch. First of all their arrangement is illegaL! iT'S against the law. Why do they feel they can use religion to do something illegAL? I did a QUICK search for Mormon sects and found there are at least 15,000 various mormon sects. Mormonism is not even a Christian religion. Joseph Smith was put to death for molesting a young girl. What sect to they belong to and why don't you ever see them going to church or associating with other like sect followers?
Cody seems to love attention and seems like a control freak to me. In the show where is watching the 17 children the younger ones appeared not to even know him and it was clear he did not enjoy being around any of them. Who brings 17 kids into the world when the world population is 7 BILLION and growing??? What kind of woman wants her husband sleeping with 3 other women? Those poor women must have self-esteem issues. Even the older teens said they did not want a life style like their parents. Cody should be arrested and the kids deserve better than to share one dad with 17 kids.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I was actually really impressed with how quietly she gave birth. That was one big kid and Robyn really didn't make that much noise. I liked how her dad told her Aurora was up and she told him she didn't want her to hear and her dad made sure she went somewhere else.

While she was laboring, I kept getting distracted by the raised mole on her left armpit. It was driving me nuts that my eyes kept focusing on it and then I realized I'd never seen so much of her arm before and that's what was really bothering me! (Sorry for the run-on sentence.)

Robyn's other kids are old enough that I thought she wanted them close enough to know what was going on but not so close that they got scared if she made alot of noise. If Robyn was okay with her Dad being in the room, I don't think it's too odd for her to allow the girls freedom to poke their heads in the door as long as nothing frightening is going on.

  121. Did anyone else see the episode, I believe it was last week, where Kody had a fit that several of Christine's boys had gotten short haircuts? Granted, they didn't look that great, but he made a mtn out of a mole hill. He could have quietly said something to Christine, but not in front of all of the children, to make them feel like their hair was crappy (because maybe they hadn't felt that way before, but he sure as heck planted that seed)! It also appeared that he made Christine feel badly too. What a jerk.

But then, he is quite conscious of his hair and appearance.

I also was impressed with Robyn's focus during the birthing process. In general, she has seemed much less needy during the past couple of shows.. like she is feeling more accepted and comfortable in the family.

One last comment - I don't think it odd that people are modest in their day to day life and then OK with having people see more of their bodies in situations like childbirth and nursing. In the day to day world they make a point of not trying to attract attention, particularly from other males but are comfortable with showing more skin in natural, necessary situations. I am speaking more from the point of the general public of "modest people" and not specifically AUB members of which I know very little.

  130. Yes, Kody made insensitive remarks during the birth but I wondered how much of that was scripted or thought ahead of time of. Afterall, they seem aware that people were not happy with him kissing Robyn during Christine being in labor. It's almost like he went out of his way to try to treat Robyn like he treated Christine during labor including the insensitive remarks. Made me wonder how Robyn felt about that.

Lindsey, I agree that her kids were old enough.. to witness the birth but Robyn herself said she didn't want them to hear her, which I think we can interpret to also mean, she didn't want them in the room while she was in labor. So why was someone not out there with the kids. It reminded me of her wedding day - it was odd then as well that the sister wives were not at her house helping her with the kids or the very least the teens helping. I would have asked my sisters.. or sister wives, since they are "family" after all to be present on both occasions to help in whatever capacity felt right for me in the moment.

  134. I see Robyn offering to be Mary's surrogate as another one of Robyn's ploys to make everything about Robyn. As some of you have pointed out, carrying Mary's baby would make Robyn the center of Kody's attention again, the center of Meri's attention, and make her look like a saint for carrying Meri's baby. Three birds with one baby.
In addition, why would you bring up the subject right after a birth and when Meri is holding a brand new baby? (besides ratings/ season 4 hook) Because Meri is emotionally vulnerable while holding a newborn, thus it is easier to plant a seed of acceptance towards the idea. I really would have liked for the moment to have been just about Solomon, and to have seen the family devoting some specific attention to his birth before hopping onto the subject of the next child. I really would like to think that Robyn is sincere about offering her uterus to Meri. But really, I just feel like its an idea conjured for the cameras, ratings, and Robyn's insatiable need to be the center of attention. Sad, so sad.

  135. Catherine not always so greatNovember 27, 2011 at 11:27 PM

I had a thought about the four house idea. Does it have anything to do with the law? Perhaps it makes it "more legal" for them to be together because they are not living common law under one roof.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Catherine - they mentioned in the show that there were zoning laws about multiple kitchens in the same house.

  137. My eyes hurt after this episode. Guess the modesty rule can be bent when there's a TLC paycheck on the line. Kody is creepy and Meri and Christine need deprogramming. I really do think Janelle is weaning herself off the Kody Kool-aid.

Thanks Kat - I had missed that. I wonder if they can request a variance (if that is the right word) such as people do for "in-law suites"

    ReplyDelete
  139. Anon 11:05

Well, first of all, the Brown family isn't TECHNICALLY doing anything illegal. The USA prohibits bigamy, which if you've done your research you would know that that is when a person in LEGALLY married to more than one person at a time. Kody is only legally married to Meri, the others have spiritual unions. That is not against the law. The other thing thu could technically be charged with would be cohabitation, which is LEGAL in Nevada. Actually, there are only 7 or 8 states that prohibit cohabitation. Now, they were. Breaking the law in Utah, because common law marriage is legal in Utah. So when they lived together, shared the same surname, and represented themselves as being married, they were breaking Utah's law because he had a legal marriage with Meri and common law marriages with Janelle, Christine, and Robyn. But Nevada doesn't have common law marriages, so they are not breaking the law there. Therefore they should have the choice on how they would like to live their lives.

I must admit, I would love to be able to see the kids years from now to see which ones enter polygamous marriages and of the others, which ones choose large and small families..perhaps as a result of their experience growing up with so many siblings.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Catherine - they probably could request a variance (yes, right word). I find it a little hard to believe that in VEGAS there are no homes with multiple kitchens. This is a place where there are tons of mansions.

But I think they don't live in Vegas proper, but rather in Henderson, which is a town a little south of Vegas. The rules might be different since it is a smaller town.

And then they make it clear they can't all live in one house. WTF .. In the opening credits, Meri say's she believes in this lifestyle, Janelle say's I think this is really "awesome", Christine- I wanted the family
Robyn- seems like we were suppossed to be together. So to break it down, They believe it is awesome to have this family, not just the man and this is how it is supposed to be,,as long as they don't have to like each other or god forbide live together. What do ya'lll think??

It was must have been a little insulting to Christine and Janelle that Meri said she never had a close bond with them - yes, after so many years together! (thank you Bamaview for reminding us of that) Weird and insensitive that she would announce that on television. She even went so far as to say she felt more excited and connected to Solomon than Truely. It is natural to feel greater connections to one person over the other but in this case it is kind of like announcing you prefer one of your children over the other -- you just don't do that.

    ReplyDelete
  154. It's funny someone mentioned whether or not the delivery scene was real because I thought that too when I watched it. For an almost 10 pound baby, Robyn didn't make much noise. I remember screaming when I delivered (and not even realizing it was me until it was over) because it's a very painful experience.

She just seemed a little too quiet...

How about when Christine moved Kody's hand from Robyn's belly and Meri said, "don't ever take Kody away from Robyn!" I think there was a lot of truth in that.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I really think there's a lot of tension between Robyn and Janelle. I loved it when Janelle said, "I won't get up in the middle of the night to see the baby" and they showed Robyn, looking like the victim (again)

    ReplyDelete
  156. When are they going to leave Hunter alone? Robyn really made me mad when she said that Hunter has hurt her feelings when he didn't accept her right away. She needs to remember that she's the adult and he's the kid. He lived with all 3 wives all of his life and when a new "mom" comes along, he's expected to just accept her with open arms. I am actually impressed at how well the kids have handled this, it's a lot of change for a child to go through :(

  165. I love the show. I think you should all build a huge house one house that is and have 4 big apartments equiped with your own kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms ect...so you have your own space and then in the middle have a big kitchen, big family room and big bathroom where you can all meet in the middle if you want to instead of having 4 different homes on the same lot...one big happy family house..then the kids can all meet up in the middle of the house where they can hang in the big family room that is for everyone...if you want your space...you just go back to your own apartment..cook your owns meals and do whatever.

  166. Well, TLC did everything they could to make Robyn seem like the saint in this episode. I'm a bit surprised they didn't put a halo around her head. And that song that they chose after the birth of King Soloman? I don't know, it seemed so contrived to me. This episode was all about the victim, Robyn, slighted by Christine, the kids and everyone in general, except Meri, dear sweet Meri.

The battle lines were clearly drawn between team Meri/Robyn and Team Janelle/Christine and I have to wonder if this is more of a ploy to get another season?

Questions I had...how are they going to afford to build 4 houses on that tract of land with no jobs? My husband and I have all we can do to afford ours, and we don't live above our means and we actually WORK!!!

  167. Shout out to Christine! WHY are you apologizing for your honest and truthful thoughts about Robyn? Perhaps Kody told you to straighten up and fly right? Did Robyn tell you, as she has told everyone on the planet, that you hurt her feelings? The apology was long, forced and unnecessary. Be true to yourself and your thoughts. You don't have to like Robyn. Most of us don't. You have every right to be jealous and to feel slighted by Kody. He has been a tool ever since Robyn came into the picture, and quite frankly, he owes all of you ladies an apology for being just that. A tool.

How did the Gosslins afford their huge home with neither working? How did the Roloffs pay their enormous property taxes? How could the Duggars finish that big compound which didn't even have plumbing and electrical when Jim Bob was working on it piece by piece?

TLC soothes all wounds and restoreth the soul.

  169. I've been content to just read (and enjoy) this blog but there were a few things in last night's episode that stuck out loud and clear.

About Robin's oh so sad story of having no cribs for her other three children.....
She stated on camera that her Daddy was present for all three of her previous births.... that he was present (ick, obviously with full "view" of the proceedings) because he is such a supportive Daddy. So are we to believe that her devoted, supportive Daddy watched his other three grandchildren literally *be born* and didn't/wouldn't spring for a crib ?? That's stretching credibility to the ridiculous !!!

Re: Robin's tearful, magnanimous offer to have a baby for Meri supposedly just an hour or so after giving birth....pulleeze !!! If this is TLC's doings to create a tasty hook for next season, shame on them. However, I am more inclined to think that Kody-boy has, and has had, much influence on the storylines along with TLC. And now perhaps, so does Robyn.
He likely initially pitched the whole show to TLC and TLC saw a ratings grabber from the get-go. It was perfect timing with Big Love going off the air. People still were interested in this plural concept. Kody-boy may look and sound like a 15 year old with *crazy eyes* (love that and it is so accurate) but make no mistake, he is shrewd and enterprising !!

He doesn't want to "actually work,"...as in, produce income through consistent and honest effort, but he does insatiably crave attention and status. He also has a natural instinct for the media. He is LOVING all of this to the point that it is like watching and enabling an addict to over indulge his drug.

As for Meri's jabs at Christine and Janelle...
I think Meri is a pitifully insecure woman who despite being the "first" wife and only legal wife, she has never had top billing. She was the means for Kody-boy to start his harem of worshipers.
She complied soon (how soon was this?) after she married "her sweetheart" with having her brother's ex-wife to now sleep with her husband and have his kids.
Looking at the ages of the kids, Meri's only child was not even born first !! Janelle's was !! Even that role was taken from her.

And Janelle was a breadwinner, and probably was making more than Kody-boy. Meri was financially dependent on Janelle from the start. Meri supposedly had a 'part time' job with a non-profit. No real income there.

And as much as Janelle is to be admired for having some sense, some logic and practicality, she is not a warm and fuzzy person. That's just her style. Who knows what her reasons were/are for being there, other than the obvious fact now is that she has 6 kids to feed and has no job. The TLC gravy train has snared them all.

Obviously, Meri couldn't and still cannot get the "poor you"s from Janelle or Christine that she craves and that Robyn so sly knows Meri needs. Robyn (and Kody) also realize that goading Meri to express her angst, however mis-placed and mis-spoken, makes the two of them look so righteous..so "kind" !!!

Christine is a pawn in the whole picture too, but she has her own need for attention. She really is a chronic adolescent and very malleable. It's sad for her kids.

    One last thing....
It is obvious that this Blog is being read by them all, including TLC.
Why else would they have gone to SUCH lengths to have Meri bring over the camera and have that staged kiss on the steps if not to then set up the flashback of Kody driving to Robyn's for a needed 'loving' kiss while his other alleged love was giving birth.
It was amusing to see that... knowing how blatant the comments were on here before about all of that !! Apparently, Kody-boy felt he had to do some damage control. Good job, SW Blog !!

  170. Did anybody notice what that brown food was that was on Janelle's kitchen table and people were picking at? Didn't look like "healthy food" to me. The idea that these people are thinking of opening a fitness center is just mind boggling.

  171. Good reading Anony 10:51!!
I though Meri was my favorite, but I realize they are all messed up, bad.

  172. Janelle's meal at least had some sort of spinach-looking salad and lean chicken on the table. The foil-lined baking sheets on the counter looked like they had fried food on them.

Madison has lost weight. She is a pretty girl and I'm happy that she looks healthier than in previous episodes.

Christine's dinner was humorous. She wants it to look like they are eating healthy. She says, "grilled chicken and vegetables" while her daughter is grating a huge chunk of what appears to be Velveeta for on the vegetables.

  173. bamaview: i totally agree with your comments. it doesn't seem like any of the wives actually like "polygamy" and its inherent characteristics. they like having a husband and female friends and don't seem to realize that this is what "monogamy" is. i credit this to them being programmed as children as i believe they all grew up in polygamist families with the exception of maybe robyn... not sure if she grew up in this "faith" as well.

  174. plot-

the duggars actually have jobs, or at least jim bob does. he is a successful real estate investor. they talked about this on one of the episodes. they also mentioned very briefly at one point that they pay for every single thing they own in cash- including their home and the property it sits on. i don't like comparing the sister wives and gosselins to the duggars (even though i don't agree with the duggars procreating so irresponsibly) because the duggars do actually provide for themselves and don't expect handouts. i think in their case the show is more of supplemental income- not their single and only way of making money.

  175. First time poster, long time reader...
So many things to say about this episode, that I don't know where to start.

Meri: At the beginning of the show, I liked her and felt bad for her. Now, it's pretty clear that she resents Janelle and Christine. She seems to be reveling in the turmoil created by Robyn. The little digs at Janelle and Christine kind of prove this for me (I haven't had a close relationship with a sister wife until Robyn. I was not at all excited about Truley, but I am for Solomon). So, now Meri is on my Biotch list.

Christine: Hating yourself for not welcoming a conniving biotch into your husband's bed is not going to bring you closer to God. Also, I hope that when she s/w her son about Day-un that she didn't threaten him ala "If Day-un leaves us and has to live with his abusive "shark" of a father it will be all your fault".

Janelle: I really like Janelle and feel so bad for her. I just hope she gets the strength to leave this freak show.

Robyn: I really thought there was no possible way I could dislike Robyn more until this episode. Robyn the Martyr. Everyone bullies my children, the wives didn't welcome me (except Meri), my "bonus kids" think I'm their father's mistress, etc...
And yes it is FREAKY to have your dad in the room when you're giving birth!!!! I am so close to my Dad, but no way is he going to be in the room when my hoo-ha is out for all the world to see.
Finally, several things are now forever burned into my retnas...Inner thigh, lower belly, top boob, Kody speaking into Robyn's hoo-ha like it's an intercom

  176. To Sister Martyrs -

The Duggars never owned a home before TLC snared them. They rented very small houses. Jim Bob wasn't successful on a large scale. The only thing that held the family together is that JB and Michelle worked for 4 years before having children and invested everything in real estate. This provided them with a limited, albeit regular, income before TLC showed up. There was a lot they couldn't afford before the show. You will hear the older kids, once in a while, talk about their childhood which bordered on grim sometimes.

The compound (which Jim Bob had been working on for years) was basically studs and concrete before TLC decided to foot the bill to finish it. Jim Bob made some very bad construction decisions even then and the TLC crew had to redo a lot.

I do like the Duggars more than your average TLC family/brand. Michelle has some natural charm. They really don't buy on credit, really don't watch TV and have controlled their image better than any other TLC family. Jim Bob has been very smart in the way he handles their show.

Sure, some things are totally scripted. It's pretty obvious when TLC has put words in Jim Bob's mouth to make him appear more...Duggar-like.

I wouldn't call the Duggars con-artists the way I would the Browns. But TLC money made their lives much better and created a huge portion of the illusion of Duggar success through faith and debt-free living.

  177. "I wouldn't call the Duggars con-artists the way I would the Browns. But TLC money made their lives much better and created a huge portion of the illusion of Duggar success through faith and debt-free living."

And isn't this the irony of most all "REALITY" shows...
That through an influx of certain combinations of money, trip scenarios, guest appearances, do-good projects, makeovers, scripted drama scenes for good OR bad reviews and fan appeal....
That an "ILLUSION" is created and then dubbed * "REALITY" * !!!!

The perfect stage for people (paid performers) who are either woefully needy or shrewdly opportunistic.....
    Or both !!

    ReplyDelete
  178. Thank you Labradorable! Meri's monologue was difficult to watch. I've really, really disliked her for a while now, but now she is also on my biotch list.

While I'm at it, they need another baby like Kody needs a Ferrari. These people have the financial acumen of a five-year-old. No jobs, no viable plans, just idiocy. What about college for the other kids?

    ReplyDelete
  179. Not that this means anything, but Jim Bob also served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002. A couple of their real estate holdings are rented to cell phone companies for cell tower placement- I am assuming they get a decent amount of money from that. Were it not for the fact that half of the world's population has come out of Michelle's you know what, they probably would have been pretty "well to do" even without TLC.

I guess I say this only because I don't even think Kody Brown could have possibly even conceptualized such an investment. He is, put simply, a doofus.

  180. As for 'no multiple kitchens' in ONE house, they would yes, only have to find an area that is zoned for apartments or condos... and then get the permits for it. If you are not allowed to have doors connecting within the units, you could always build a 'common area' inside the unit where everyone can gather=just like some large apartments and condos have. Separate houses are just going to continue the 'we are off by ourselves' thing and cause the family to grow apart more. Having a common area would allow everyone to dine together, and the kids to see THEIR FATHER everyday. I personally think the condo/apartment idea is the best, with a common area DIVIDING IT IN HALF-one side for Meri and Robyn and the other side for Janelle and Christine.

  181. For Whoever's Asking About what that pan of fried looking crap Janelle and kids were picking at - i bet it's those god-awful unhealthy and fattening Fritos w/peanut butter, sugar and corn syrup "snack" she raves about. blech!!

    ReplyDelete
  182. Sister Martyrs - yes, Robyn did grow up in the UAB plyg religion and in a polygamous home herself. Her own mom is now divorced from her dad in spite of their lifelong "honeymoon" marriage according to Robyn's b.s.

It is Kody and Janelle who both grew up in mainstream Mormonism (no polygamous upbringing.) In fact, Kody even served a two year LDS mission from 19-21.

Janelle is divorced from Meri's brother and then became Meri's (her former sister-in-law) first sister wife less than 2 years after Meri and Kody married.

    Ain't love grand!!

    ReplyDelete
  183. And, now that Meri made her 'confession' about Janelle and Christine, I see 2 things happening.
First, Janelle will finally lose it and shout 'Meri, WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM? Is it because I divorced your #&$#@ brother? Because C and I pushed out 6 kids? LISTEN, I had to work FULLTIME and support ALL OF YOUR $#@%# while I left all my kids with someone else. Shut up, stop whining, and take some of Christine's left over meds.'
2nd-we will see Christine go down the depression route again, then come to the realization (with Kody's 'help') that 'it was ALL MY FAULT that Meri did not connect with Janelle, I took Janelle away from her' That led to Meri HATING ME! THEN, we will see Christine making another plaque 'Meri and Christine, Sister Wives 4eva'. And then Kody and the 4 will sit on the 'TLC CONFESSION CHAIR' saying "all the problems are solved.' Robyn will then jump in explaining how 'we cannot have jealousy among us. Working and praying, etc. etc. and our Teens cannot view this' while everyone at home falls into a coma. And everyone will have the 'tlc sw face on'.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Sister Martyrs - oops! forgot one more thang. Janelle's mother (who also did not grow up in polygamy) is now married to Kody's Mom and Dad (who also used to be monogamous and in mainstream mormonism.)

like they say - that family's tree is a wreath!

    ReplyDelete
  185. Also, the 'reserve the business name' thing. You can only reserve a business name for 4 months in NEVADA? I guess, use it or lose it. How come all of this crap is always in Janelle's name? Is it because her bankruptcy is far enough in the past but the others aren't? Also, 'fundemental fitness'-are they going to be part of the chain 'fundemental fitness' or is it a singular venture? If they are not part of the chain across the country, they might have problems using the name-esp. if there are any FF in nevada already.

  187. I think Janelle's the only one with a credit card. Isn't that why Kody was pissed at her when she wouldn't rent a bigger moving truck?

    ReplyDelete
  188. It's interesting bc I believe Kody and his crew would be up s&@t creek if he were legally able to marry his concubines bc then they wouldn't have all these perks like filing for bankruptcy individually, food stamps, etc.. When you really think about it, these crackpots are getting away with murder bc he cant actually marry them. Kody puts himself in more legal loopholes than different wives who-ha's in a week.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Sister Martyrs, you make an excellent point! I hadn't thought about how it financially benefits them and their scams to only have one legal marriage with the rest remaining "spiritual" marriages. Wow- I wonder how they would react if polygamy was made legal and Kody actually COULD marry all his wives. "Well, see, we're trying to get the word out and help people see how great polygamy is and sob sob sob we had to flee from Utah and it's so distressing and wait whaaaat? I can legally marry all my wives but our food stamps and ability to declare bankruptcy will be hindered? Well, what I really meant to say was polygamy is great and all but when our leader had his dream that said he could have a stable of wimmin part of the dream said there could only be one legal wife....."

  190. must say Im not exceptionally good with computers. If I were to compare myself to one of the wives I would definately be Christine. Im fun, and I love to cook. Im sure Jenelle could post a blog without blinking probably Christine too, but not me. First of all I must say that as a Southern Baptist Christian I admit that I began watching your show just so I could watch your family struggle with what I believe God said was a wrong lifestyle. I used to tell people its like a trainwreck you cant look away. In the Bible Ive been given in my Church, it does say that God calls for one man to leave his father and his mother and to cleave only unto his one wife. Ive searched my entire Bible over and over and the only reason that my Bible indicates His preferance for this is to alleviate the trouble caused by more than one wife. Indeed I see in David's life how multiple wives and the children from the multiple wives were certainly challenging. But I can also see that in my Bible as it is written anyway David did not have near the compassion nor dedication to all of his wives or children that I see in Kody. I have been glued to the tv now a faithful fan for all three seasons. I have laughed, cried, loved, and even lost with your family. All I can say at this point is that I am not sure who is right. I honestly dont know much about the Mormon faith. I am quite truthfully struggling in my faith right now period. That is related to my own life which of course has its own struggles. But what I can honestly say with all of my heart, is that you are a family. Right or wrong according to whomever. You are a complete whole and functioning family. Funtioning better I might add then many of what society deems as the normal family. I can see how struggling through all of the emotions you all do, IS in fact making each of you better. I can see as an outsider how Kody tries to love each of his wives as individuals right where you are for who you are. I am inspired by that type of dedication that the whole greater good be achieved. There has been no greater demonstration of love I have ever witnessed in my entire life, EVER, than when Robyn offered to carry Meri's child. I know Meri's pain. I have lost three babies. If everyone in the world would try to see each others faults through the eyes of the pain that gave them to us. If they could daily make the choice, because I believe real LOVE is a choice, this world would be such a better place. The sad truth is as I sit typing this, my husband is gone working and, I realize maybe If I had a sister wife I wouldn't feel so lonely all of the time. I wanted to post this on your blog. I wish people could see this. I think the world needs to know it. But again, Im not smarter than this computer apparently. Lol. You have my permission to copy and paste this to the blog if you receive this. Believe me I will be tuning in to Season 4.

  192. PC: I'm sad to read you.... I was raised by 2 loving catholic parents who loved each other very much and still do..... My mother taught me 1 important thing: God is all love and love your fellow man/woman. The best gift they gave me: unconditional love and to follow my heart freely. I feel so lucky..... When I read you and see how bad SW feel, I wish they received the same gift and have the courage to stand up for yourselves, love who you are and be happy in life. If you think Kody's love is IT, I really feel for you......

  193. To PC,
Do you have someone to talk to? You sound like you're really hurting.

I also watch the train wreck of a show, mostly out of curiosity because it's so different than how most of us live.

Do you remember back when Meri and Kody were on vacation before Robyn was fuly in the picture and she asked him how he'd like it if another man was giving her attention? He seem appalled at the notion, yet it is totally accepted and expected when it's the man having more than one partner. Meri was not saying she wanted another man, she just wanted him to TRY to consider what it would be like. He said he was disgusted and almost physically sick.

So, so hard to imagine this lifestyle.

    Take care, PC.

    ReplyDelete
  194. PC + Anony 9:06: It's true that you look like you're going through a rough patch..... Please, don't think having a sister wive is the answer to feeling alone..... Talking to family members or friends that really care for you is the answer..... If there's no one, you can join a support group.... but don't stay alone and keep all these feelings inside !

  195. That opening line of Kody's about love should multiply, not divide is laughable in a very sad, disturbung way after the last 3 episodes of this season.

These women are all very conflicted now. It is so obvious, unmistakable!! Robyn is simply enjoying a short-lived glow of being the newest character in the mix.

It's likely that the original three, although perhaps living from dollar to dollar, had some semblance of a routine going in Utah. They had been a functioning unit for almost 18 years. They knew the rules of the house and each knew their place, not expecting it to be any other way.

Janelle had not yet been outed by being on the show and was earning a major portion of the income..
and she liked it that way.
Meri had her little job before the show outed her and she was fired. She had something that she liked to do.
Christine was the resident daycare director and she said she was contented with that!

Kody was doing whatever..but at some point he decided to switch things up. I don't think that Meri thought up all by herself to bring in wife # 4. First of all, according to them last season, they did everything by consensus back then in Utah. They lived together...doubtful that Meri wielded that much power that she could or would arbitrarily and secretly devise such a plan.

More realistic is that Kody got itchy pants, was tired of post-partum or less than fit, less than youngish *wives* and needed a new conquest.
Perhaps he began to whine to Meri about that (since Meri was in need of a special role of being a confidant with him) and she being the dutiful, always accommodating wife, became his voice to the others.
Kody is very manipulative, that is evident. And Meri definitely would allow him to say that it was *her* idea even to the point of asking her for referrals. No question, Meri may have had a buried ulterior motive once he put it on the table, but doubtful that it wasn't *his idea* to start with.

And that incentive perfectly dovetailed with the TLC deal.
What an original concept (?)....just like in the series "Big Love" when the guy took on the much younger wife #3 and immediately she starts having kids and the dramas begin.
    Same setup. Interesting, huh?

Kody is on a fast track to fame and fortune...at least he is * in his mind.*
The wives and all the scripted and /or incidental dramas are necessary to that goal.
Meanwhile, 17 kids are now pulled into his plans with no voice whatsoever.

  196. This episode made me doubt the truth of what I see there more and more... mari ..had to give permission for the following wives.. but then she says she is only close to robyn and is just SO excited about baby what 15 ???

Then faker kody... so 'excited " about another child not to raise.. There he is comforting this wife ...he is SO experienced "ohh he looks like all my other kids?? really ...

But the top of it was when Robyn asked Kody to leave the room..she wanted to have a "private" talk with mari ..of course the camera didn't leave ..so the private talk with her and thousands of viewers... take your time on this mari..
I will have sex with your legal husband and get pregnant.. The baby will have the same genes as little solomon ( good name for a polygamist) but i will give it to you to raise..

How stupid do they think we are??

I gues we are pretty stupid cause we keep watching tis human train wreck waiting for one of those women to admit it

(Cameras ready...cue the cliffhanger scene, take one)
Meanwhile Meri is playing her part, but actually is looking a bit embarrassed about the whole setup, and the new Madonna is doing her tears on cue. And TLC gets their finale shot.
    That's show biz.....

Kind of reminds you of the man-against-nature shows where the star is hanging by a branch over a cliff with a pack of wolves after him and a blinding snowstorm is raging and he has no water and food...What he will do, he is *all alone.*
