The birth of my second child was truly a deeply spiritual and incredible experience. The sexologist probably does just seek out attention but that doesn't negate her childbirth experience.fungophilenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1083130180732134503.post-66404833736892118052012-03-16T15:06:31.144-04:002012-03-16T15:06:31.144-04:00I had Thanksgiving dinner with a very prominent co...I had Thanksgiving dinner with a very prominent couple in the realm of polyamory (published, TV, etc.) Their children are pretty messed up - they started their polyamorous relationships with the parents of their childrens' friends, and it didn't usually go well for the kids involved. It was obvious that the husband's "second" felt incredibly insecure (something I've noticed with seconds in general in polyamorous relationships - someone I new who was second became anorexic to try to live up to the primary female in the relationship).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1083130180732134503.post-74549551882645725912012-03-15T00:10:02.596-04:002012-03-15T00:10:02.596-04:00I wonder how many people who say they are polygamo...I wonder how many people who say they are polygamous (or living a polygamous lifestyle) are more likely polyamorous instead. Like that responder on the Darger website who said she didn't have a problem with loneliness because she and her sisterwife and husband all sleep together in the same bed. Maybe they think polyamorous means being promiscuous but polygamous shows a commitment to each other.Long time lurkernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1083130180732134503.post-28511241911631164162012-03-14T13:44:45.895-04:002012-03-14T13:44:45.895-04:00I saw the sexologist from Topanga on television. She seemed to be far more interested in seeking attention than talking realistically about their triad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1083130180732134503.post-87967272341020729062012-03-14T10:13:07.060-04:002012-03-14T10:13:07.060-04:00Thanks, CJ, for your diligence in finding relevant...Thanks, CJ, for your diligence in finding relevant material.

What is impacting about this article is that obviously there will always be fringe thinkers, folks who choose to live outside main society's box. And maybe even write their books and publish their "studies and experiments." All part of living in a free society.

However, when they also choose to vividly become part of society's *entertainment* component via TLC's stable of Reality Shows right up there with people who happily grow 6 inch toenails, they not only dilute whatever purity they claim to have in their philosophies, they also invite skeptics and blatant criticisms.

The choice *to go public* via such an avenue as TLC could be viewed like putting your resume on the back of a trash truck. Sure, lots of people will see it, but will they take you seriously?
Or care, except for the entertainment value ?Amusednoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1083130180732134503.post-91855950589272183432012-03-14T07:29:51.248-04:002012-03-14T07:29:51.248-04:00Neither polygamy or polyamory are condusive to chi...Neither polygamy or polyamory are condusive to child rearing.
