DeleteWho in their right mind would give these idiots a loan when they have no STABLE JOB? Being a "reality TV star" IS NOT A JOB. They are the most delusional people I've ever seen. If anything, they need to downgrade their lifestyle while they have this money coming in...and guess what? SAVE IT. Save your money people! They might even want to invest in furthering their own educations (as well as their kids). But let's face it, there are many, many people out there with college degrees and no job to speak of. I have a Masters and was jobless for 2 years. Thank God for my husband. Now I'm in trade school (community college no less) and will hopefully get something by next May. People make a big deal out of college but these days it is almost like a HS degree and that is very sad! Be smart about the debt you will be incurring Brown kids, it follows you forever!!

ReplyDeleteI find it hard to believe that today, MSWC, is logged w/ backorders, esp after yesterday, Robyn posted a response to everyone complaining about the jewelry being overpriced. I think they're just trying to get people to impulse buy their junk, by using psychology. Kinda, like Today Only, or Limit 3 Only, etc...
Besides if their jewelry is sincerely "handcrafted" as they proclaim it to be, then the back orders will be a while, which I think their stuff is mass produced.
To me Original handcraft art/designs are what my Native American culture does: hand beaded jewelry pieces & silver,turquoise jewelry too! Also, the regalia, shawls, moccasins,etc.. Most of the dancers from our cultures, hand crafts their own regalia or generally have family members who make it for them, etc...Most indians who hand craft items for profit,will generally set up as a vendor @powwow gatherings. Now, the native T-shirts are mass produced, but they don't claim to be hand crafted either... Also, when I'm taking care of business at my Tribal headquarters, U will see, people walking around selling handcrafted/beaded earrings, necklaces, keychains, I.d/badge holders, etc...
Now, I know, that other cultures hand craft items & art too,i.e, Amish, but I was just using examples from my Native American culture.
I'm w/ya on that one Caramel, these people are full of shit & just yesterday they were scrambling trying to make excuses & now they are back logged....I don't buy it!

DeleteJust a little FYI...as far as real estate, at least in my state...you cannot buy residential lots that are zoned R1 and build a big compound on them. That's what zoning laws are about. One single family house per lot, and even the percentage of open space to be left on that lot is spelled out. You would also violate the setback laws too. That whole issue is dead in the water on those lots. There is absolutely no scenario that I can conjure up whereby these nit wits own these homes. I wonder if they have thought of the electric and water bills on these type of homes. Why am I even asking that? That would make way too much sense. Here's an idea.... why not buy an apartment complex? That way they could all live in one area, share the playground and pool and make money with leasing the extra units. It would basically be the same set-up as the Utah house- small apartments in one larger building.

Anonymous 1:08...Does anyone who lives in Nevada know if Nevada has the open enrollment for their schools? Meaning that families can enroll their children in any school district as long as you provide the transportation? I don't know if that is a national policy with the "No Child Left Behind Act" or not. We have that in Minnesota and you can enroll in any district across the state as long as they have space. If that is the case it really wouldn't matter where they lived as long as someone drove them to school. AFTER ALL NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE A REAL JOB. OK...it might take KODY KOTEX some time in that two seater car but geez...it might give him sometime to actually DO!! And just maybe he can spend some quality time with his children!! DeleteI didn't catch either show Sunday, but I caught both as reruns tonight (Wed) on TLC. I kind of knew what to expect from everyone's comments but I was surprised at how sympathetic (almost tearful) I was to see Christine so hurt by the nachos comments. I watched with my boyfriend (his first time) and when Grody said, "I'm just being honest!" my bf said, "Well, he IS just being honest!" I gasped and wanted to kill him. I mean, he is the kind who was brought up and trained to know that the correct answer to "Do these pants make my butt look big?" is ALWAYS "No."
I so wish I loved in LV I would go and take pictures. I hope someone does.

ReplyDeleteCouldn't help but get strong feeling that much of the dialogue and episode was geared towards getting the viewers and fans sold on idea that we should support the families financial initiatives in order to fund their houses. In other words, the leap of faith was that we would all buy jewelry, etc in order to help bring their family into these McMansions.
Janelle was the only one with any sense to push back on the purchase, and Meri was completely manipulative to get everyone to agree that she could have gigantic house....and there is no WAY that she needs it. And of course Robyn must remind us of her surrogate offer AGAIN.
The entire episode was like an infomercial....asking the fans to buy in and cough up....
They've got to be looking for "business leaders" for their MLM scheme. HAS to be.
ReplyDeleteSomebody mentioned in the other discussion thread how much weight Janelle needs to lose. I went back to the gym episode and based on a BMI of 44 and a weight of 271 lbs, Janella has to stand at 5 feet 6 inches in her stockinged feet. At that height, her weight should be 155 lbs or under to fall into the 'normal' bracket. If she has lost 10 lbs (which is pretty pathetic), she still has 106 lbs to go. That sounds drastic, but it is doable, particularly the first forty or so. At her weight, even small changes should show big results and I really don't think she's even trying.
ReplyDeleteI've never been good at losing weight, but about three months ago, my doctor told me I had to or suffer the consequences. I simply started writing down everything I ate and was down 22 lbs in two months.Yoga is all nice and good, but if you keep eating peanut butter fritos (I still can't believe anybody would), half an hour of yoga isn't going to do much good.
I know most people think Janelle is the smart one, but if she thinks the fitness business would suit her family, she's sorely mistaken.
By the way, I too can barely stand to look at Meri and the hair gives me the creeps. After thinking about it, I finally figured out what bugs me so much about her face. The chin is a problem, but my pet peeve is how shiny and pink her face is. Methinks she might have high blood pressure, which would account for the constantly magenta face. She certainly had a nicer complexion when she was younger. The more I think about it, the more I think they all ought to see a doctor and get checked out, none of them seem even close to healthy.

ReplyDeleteI've been lurking and enjoying all the comments about this ridiculous family. But I just have to say one thing. I agree that Meri has no business in a giant house, but there's one problem with that. They're shopping for lots in a neighborhood where large homes are built. So if Meri lives next door to everyone, Meri gets the size of house that the builders there are building. She has no choice. So her annoying indecisiveness is sort of valid. She clearly wanted a big awesome house, but didn't want to admit to wanting one because she'd be living alone in it most of the time. They're insane for thinking they can get such luxurious houses anyway and likely won't end up in them.

DeleteMy question is, how are they financing the new vehicles they have bought? Meri got the Kia, Christine and Janelle got Toyota vans, and Kody got that converible Murano. I mean, they have filed bankruptcy multiple times. Did they pay for them cash? I refuse to use my tax dollars to bail out car companies and them finance low lifes. And another thing I noticed today was how much weight they've all gained. Since their interviews during the first season, I would venture to say they each have gained 50lbs or more. It's all that eating out... and Janelle was afraid of how she was going to fed her kids! Lady, it's obvious you found the money.
ReplyDeletewell the Murano is a MLM vehicle - like Mary Kay, you reach a certain point in how many people you have signed up under you and you get a "free" (not really free) car. of course if the numbers drop, they will need to either return the car or start paying part or all of the cost.
DeleteThe rest I just figure that they are used cars which were purchased. Cars are easy to finance compared to other items, and there are dealers who will sell to anyone. The cars except for the Murano don't look "new".

we garden all the time and have for 40 years - you can save so much on food bill and so much healthier --
They eat too much cheesy starchy casseroles and those big cake desserts you see are all processed food from costco i bet !
Our library has the book and there are several copies. I put it on hold and I'm #2 on hold to read. Its not a long book,less than 300 pages. I hope it doesn't damper my spirits because I'm sinking fast, after reding all the comments here. I had actually enjoyed watching this show ....oh well all good things must come to an end evenutally... even a tv show! Ha

ReplyDeleteIs it just me or did Robyn look pregnant in the last episode. I was a litle shocked! She tiny and thin, so having had one baby only 9 months ago and another so soon,she might show it faster huh? I just wonder and Merri crys all the time lately about this and that>> maybe she is pregnant also and doesn't know it !
