In 2011, the Sister Wives Blog started out as a place to talk about the TLC reality show "Sister Wives", Kody Brown and his wives Christine, Robyn, Meri and Janelle. A year later, we not only discuss the show, we discuss Polygamy in our society, and the public perceptions of the Mormon religion. This blog is geared towards the adult reader, so please, no one under the age of 18 years. Thank you!

awwwww...its so romantic looking .....you need this kind of soft porn when ur husband is bumping uglies with chicks you cant stand.
ReplyDeleteat least its kind of behind the door?
ReplyDeleteI think it's cute - there is nothing wrong with it. Seriously, it's ok to critize them for things they say and stuff but picking on them for a picture`??
ReplyDeletepicking on them? Maybe God sent us to challenge him and make him stand firm in his beliefs. Robyn and I feel that you'll thank us later
ReplyDeleteI wish TLC offered me a job to get "picked on" by people i dont know.
ReplyDeleteIt's not my taste, but I think it's sweet. Although it's fun to criticize Robyn, I do think of all of the wives she is the most sincere and is truly thrilled to be a part of the family and committed to being devoted and loving to Kody. Plus she's young and a newlywed and still has stars in her eyes about her move up in the world to better circumstances, and I can see why she would like it.
ReplyDeleteShe's 35, a mom already of 3. Not a "young girl" with stars IMO.
ReplyDeleteSadly, though, she is a "young girl" maturity wise. Hence, being 10 months pregnant, riding next to her not husband in a truck.
Teens today don't even ride like that!
I hadn't seen that silliness since 1978.
Oh totally in my book, this is a mid ages woman. Can't call her young adult, can't call her middle aged, but too damn old to have pics like this, sit next to Kody in the truck...
ReplyDeleteWHAT is next? her screaming SHOTGUN! on a long trip?
Surely that is not them!
ReplyDeleteI think the picture is a perfect example of their immaturity. Do you think they had Janelle standing there snapping shots or did they hire a professional to take this one? How'd they afford that? Anyone remember Christine's wedding photo? Looked like it was snapped on a polaroid- which is FINE. The problem arises when that schmuck takes "engagement" photos like this when he is going through a midlife crisis. I noticed the Robyn sitting next to Kody in the truck thing too (her dad's truck)- I figured it was because he likes having her close so he can fondle her inner thighs.
ReplyDelete"I noticed the Robyn sitting next to Kody in the truck thing too (her dad's truck)- I figured it was because he likes having her close so he can fondle her inner thighs. "
ReplyDeleteBWAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA
How do you all know this is an engagement picture? I've seen it said on the other post, also; Why do I not know this?
All I have going through my head when I see that... 'Laughing, playing, day or night...Jordache has the look thats right'......... Lol, I dont think people are really picking on them per say,but the whole idea that they act below their years and this whole thing of trying to bethe cool ones of the group. I am my husbands second wife(he was legally divorced when we met) and there is 20 year age difference,we have 3 kids and married for 16yrs,it is hard having to find balance and boundaries when it c,ame to dealing wiwth his ex wife. Its not jealousy, its more of a feeling that no matter what, you and she(ex) have history with this man and any normal person is going to have some issue dealing with seeing someone you were with for so long with another person. I can see where Christine is coming from when she says what she says,in fact all of the women are valid in feeling panges of jealousy, its not normal for kody to make them feel as if one womans feeling is not important over anothers..when we see this picture of the two 'newlyweds but not really newlyweds because its illegal' we see the silliness in acting like they are the only twopeople in the marriage-the other woman are living that feeling and reminded ,not only in their private lives but now in front of America on tv,that they have essentially been replaced. The one thing I notice that seperates the Browns from the other large families that TLC puts on....there is no family picture. It doesnt even have to be professionally done, but there is nothing that promotes family unity. I hope my rambling makes sense....early morning:)
ReplyDelete"Vastminds said... I wish TLC offered me a job to get "picked on" by people i dont know."
ReplyDeleteBWAAHAHAHA GOOD ONE......
Robyn went from living with her parents, to a nice "film" house in MT, to the nice home in UT, to now a 4 bdrm home filled with furniture! And knick knacks and tons of shit! I'm sure the Van is new, too.
I don't like her "job" of bonking the Master, but, she seems to be ok with it.
A tad better than another dumb Jessop--- maybe this time she won't run up a huge credit card debt of, what, $30,000 and dump it on the taxpayer.....OH WAIT.... she "married" Kody, well shit Folks, guess prices will be going up.
BACK to Vastminds - They could pick on me, they could look up my cootchie, Hell, I'd give them embarrassing material to talk about for the dough and prizes they get. Trust me, I've got some goood skeletons. If my hate blog got slow, I would anonymously dish on my other wives!
I can see it now... imagine... me.a.star.
que sad music....MY FIRST SCENE!!!
9 months pregnant, sitting on my new sofa in the Hamptons crying.....My tranny sister wife, Monique Shanadadad Tree Bump comes in. "Why the tears, my dears?" she says
"Oh Monique, when I was pregnant with my other 14 kids, I didn't have a Mercedes.... the car of my dreams anyway...."
"What would make you happy?" Monique asks, your fans want to know!
"Why, a Black 2012 Mercedes Benz CL-Class, Monique, only $211,000 starting price.
TEARS STOP/ I LOOK RIGHT AT THE CAMERA, with the words scrolling under... Which, if everyone in Vegas sent in a dollar, I am sure I could get rid of my old white Lexus!
Straight faced- Remember Folks, 925 Auto Show Drive (In the Valley Auto Mall) Henderson, NV 89014.......
Yeah, come PICK on me!!! hahahahah
Who took that picture? Meri?
ReplyDeleteCheezy.
ReplyDeleteYup, with a "z".
That's all I have.
Kody must absolutely love this picture...it shows him with his two favorite wives.
ReplyDeleteThank you Melissa! I was trying to figuring out what this pic reminded me of! It DOES look like a corny 80's Jordache ad!!! LMAO
ReplyDeletewow there are way to many negative people in this world!!! I hope you sister's keep that in mind when people are constantly posting nasty remarks on your blog! Your a beautiful family, always keep that in mind:)
ReplyDeleteWas this picture taken by one of his daughters that regularly went down with him as a "chaperone" (in reality - a free babysitter for Robyn) when he was "courting" Robyn?
ReplyDeleteSorry - i don't like either one of them and this picture is just stupid and first love teen-like. I think it captures both of their emotional maturity level.
MistySmith1973, I am very curious what you think is beautiful about this family and would like you to explain it; I'm not being mean, just really curious because I don't see it anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe first 3 seasons of this show have shown us 3 wives and almost all the older children who have revealed to us that they are unhappy to various degrees about various aspects of their lives. These same wives have revealed that they must act as single parents, checking home work, soothing children, performing home repairs, etc. because they cannot count on a full time husband.
I also see a husband who does not fulfill the role or responsibilities of a husband particularly well and who cannot hold a candle to mine.
I don't see the beauty in that, only sadness.
when did people decide they live in Henderson, NV? ( that's southeast of vegas.) they live in North Las Vegas.
ReplyDeleteTerrasola - i was astonished when i went to their FB page the other day and saw about 2000 posts of worship and praise for this group! astonished!
ReplyDeleteAhmen to that Terrasola....
ReplyDeleteThey also showcase the teens and the babies. I always see these un identifiable latency aged kids running around in the back ground looking waif like and under or un attended to. Does Kody even know them-their individual talents, likes and dislikes? Kids require a ton of energy and they don't raise themselves.
I am wondering how much responsibility has gone to the older sibs to care for the younger ones and if this holds true in non polyge families as well.
I am sure that this was discussed somewhere prior to me following this blog- but it seems appropriate to insert her as this photo really captures the disgustingness that is Comb Over Kody and Robyn: Has anyone ever noticed Christine's rental kitchen vs. Robyn's rental kitchen? Christine's looks like it was updated in 1982. Meanwhile Robyn's has stainless steel appliances. What a beautiful family.
ReplyDeletelet him without sin cast the first stone! if they are happy let them be, they are not hurting anyone, nor does their lifestyle have any effect on your lives!
ReplyDeleteBC: Do you pay taxes? Have you ever tried to get credit? These people do effect our lives because of their lifestyle choice.
ReplyDeleteAnd beyond actually personally effecting us, there are kids involved in this debacle.
Furthermore, these look like happy people to you?
I wonder if Janelle has a picture in her bedroom of her and Kody shaking hands in front of the p.o.s. Camry?
ReplyDelete"shaking hands" HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA
ReplyDeleteOh, I beg to differ - their lifestyle does effect our lives. We are the tax paying hard working American that pay for people like them. Our society goes down hill when beautiful women are taught they are good for nothing but breeding, and don't deserve intimacy. Their poor children- many of the boys need special funding and help, same with the girls.
ReplyDeleteTroy Bowles could better answer you- Troy, If you see this, Can you help?

MistySmith1973: are you speaking to the sister wives in your post? This is not their blog. This blog belongs to Mister Sister and his/her concubines. Their a different beautiful family and unrelated to the Browns (hopefully!) This blog is to discuss the Sister Wives show, whether pro or con.
So everyone can express their opinion. If you think the Browns are a beautiful family, that great. I think they are manipulative grifter who abuse the welfare system, that doesn't make me negative.
While looking at the pic, it seems as though Kody was channeling his inner Don Johnson....I am not sure what humor is allowed or not allowed;but I think his inner Don Johnson is appropriate since the only thing he seems to think with is his Johnson i.e: 17 kids that he hardly knows....I could go on;but I sure there are a lot others that can add to the list of Johnson like behavior:) I can say that watching Janelle sitting there mindlessly eating leads me to remember something I was told a while back: a mind-less,love-less,meaning-less relationship with a significant other leads to a mind-less,love-less and meaning-less relationship with food or whatever your weakness is,you start to find anything that is able to fill the void that your soul is missing. You know we can look back and say that when we were in school or little kids, it would hurt us if we were picked last for a game, or if your friend all of a sudden decided to spend more time with a new friend, we all would feel inside "whats wrong with me?" You try to rationalize the hows, whys, etc and somehow once you convince yourself that it is what it is,that friend comes back and acts like nothing is wrong..your just happy to feel "good enough" to be with them,it sets a pattern that goes into your adult life, especially if it is a common thing. Now, imagine as a grown woman, purposely seeking out a man who you know will never be 100% invested in you, because you think that is all your worth..if you see the wives that were raised in the polygamist lifestyle, they "accept" a "good enough" relationship...you starve a person of a basic need and throw a few scraps every now and then(a cheap watch, a 3 day vacation, etc) they are just happy to get something...anything...and in turn, the kids suffer because when they get their 1 day the wives/mothers are starved for that attention that they should be getting on a daily basis, and therefore the kids get pushed to the side and the husband becomes the king and center of attention,..its a circle that wont end...and then its repeated that these kids feel like the one that is picked last or stood up,not only in their school;but in there own home. The one place that they should always be accepted...and to point out something that Robyn harps on SOOOOO much, the bullying...um, does she not think singling out Hunter NON STOP is not a form of bullying? Making an individual feel different or try to make them feel bad because they do not conform to another idea of normal? Each time she calls out Hunter on his behavior of not accepting her..she needs to remember that even if this whole cluster wasnt their reality and she was just his legal step-mom,she would be getting the same reception from him due to the fact that he sees right through her...she sticks her nose where it doesnt belong. I know I ramble on like Dr.Phil on laxatives;but there is soo much that is hurting those kids beyond moving from their friends....it comes down to having a father who they know is always there for them, who will protect them, who understands, who takes the time to be with them...is that not the role of the man in the house, yet the role in their "religion" ? If this Don Johnson wanna-be wants us to believe that he is true to his word,to his religion,to his inner core of faith, then he needs to start by looking at the 17 human beings that he brought into this world and stop making it about his "wives" and his wives need to stop making it about them and focus on the kids..there will be time when they all leave the house where they can concentrate on each others relationship...whew....i need a anti-bat sh*t crazy pill so I can hang with the rainbows and unicorns:) loved those:)
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if Troy Bowles has tired here of answering the same old same old about the societal evils of polygamy and all its far-reaching tentacles. Plus, I think he's extremely busy working and getting his PHD and has limited time to keep devoting to this blog - especially when it seems to involve him answering the same questions by new people each time.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a way to pin a permanent marker or link to his FAQ's he's answered here a number of times as well as his blog and his 3 excellent informative interviews online w/Doris Hanson.
LOVE LOVE LOVE... the Janelle/Kody handshake in front of her pos camry picture remark! one of the best snarks ever! lol
ReplyDeletethat lexus pic is pure gagism for sooo many reasons.
ButchCountry, they are on TV and putting themselves out there. Opinions and criticism are unavoidable, if not expected.
ReplyDeleteAlso, throwing out divorce rates of monogamous relationships holds no weight as we have no "divorce" rates for polygamists since they cannot legally get married to multiple women. Look at the other statistics that come along with polygamy and then come back here and tell us how great it is.
Also, Kody is the one who is breeding uncontrollably and unable to provide for his family emotionally or financially. As far as I'm concerned, at least those other "rednecks" can file for child support. If this family breaks apart, HA good luck getting child support from a man who has 17 children!
Also, I take strong offense to being called a redneck...also a Christian (lol).
ReplyDeleteWow, Butch, bitter much? I could pick apart your argument with numbers, but what would be the point.....you seem to be set in your ways. I don't criticize them based on MY morality or THEIR choices but I do have issues with their hypocrisy. If they are happy with their choices so be it....but don't try to shove it down the throat of others while saying their lifestyle is so peachy yet they seem to be so miserable; or how their children benefit so much more than most because of the additional parenting, yet they also seem so sad and lonely; or how their religion is so great, yet don't want to discuss it or answer basic questions of why or how. The comment of "just close your eyes and jump in" doesn't seem explain it to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, they do shove it down the throat of others and get paid to do just that. Do I have a problem with that? No....but you can't expect people to not talk about it (pro and con) when they are begging people to watch.
Personally, I like the show. Why would I watch it otherwise? I have learned a lot from this blog and from researching questions I had after watching the show. Religious aspects aside, is it for me? No, but it also doesn't seem like it is for them either. If it were, would they each be so conflicted with their feelings or emotions? The only one who seems somewhat happy is Kody, and it makes me wonder why one person's happiness is so much more important than the 20 or so others? Or is that my mob mentality showing? The need of the one supercedes the needs of the many? Is it wrong to want everyone to be happy...isn't that the socialist and civilized viewpoint?
And just for arguments sake? Why do we have to build the border wall?

ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, we wouldn't allow folks to "ask Troy" if we hadn't previously gotten his permission.
He enjoys teaching others, and doesn't mind. He's told me he enjoys the blog and the interaction!
As far as the organization- we are pretty well stuck to how blogger is lined up. We have made specific posts for him, and plan to do more Q/A w/ Troy, for if you shout out randomly to him, he may miss it, because he is so busy.
We appreciate all that he does for our blog - but more so to educate us as well!
We have one of his interviews up, and plan to continue with the other 2 after the show.
Thanks!
Butch, attacking other posters is not allowed. Calling other posters not allowed. Please refrain from this. Post deleted b/c of this.
ReplyDeletemelissa you said it best and I think is worth repeating:
ReplyDeleteNow, imagine as a grown woman, purposely seeking out a man who you know will never be 100% invested in you, because you think that is all your worth..if you see the wives that were raised in the polygamist lifestyle, they "accept" a "good enough" relationship...you starve a person of a basic need and throw a few scraps every now and then(a cheap watch, a 3 day vacation, etc) they are just happy to get something...anything...and in turn, the kids suffer because when they get their 1 day the wives/mothers are starved for that attention that they should be getting on a daily basis, and therefore the kids get pushed to the side and the husband becomes the king and center of attention,..its a circle that wont end...and then its repeated that these kids feel like the one that is picked last or stood up,not only in their school;but in there own home. I so seldom LOL for real, but I did over the handshake/Camry comment!
