In 2011, the Sister Wives Blog started out as a place to talk about the TLC reality show "Sister Wives", Kody Brown and his wives Christine, Robyn, Meri and Janelle. A year later, we not only discuss the show, we discuss Polygamy in our society, and the public perceptions of the Mormon religion. This blog is geared towards the adult reader, so please, no one under the age of 18 years. Thank you!
I get your point. Meri works, and pays for all them other chiltins' with very little thanks.
ReplyDeleteShe is a giver much more than we realize.
So I wrote a long comment and it was deleted for some reason....blurg!
ReplyDeleteI think this family is either 1) listening to Janelle, who is trying to keep things afloat when no one has a job, or 2) listening to PR professionals, who are telling them to lay low since we've all picked up on their bankruptcy and financial messes.
It won't bode well to the viewers if they cannot afford their kids' college tuition but they are driving around in new BMWs. Some of us have already anointed Kody as a major douche for his Kody-centric choices so that would make things worse.
So sorry anony 7:36 about your comment being eaten by the blogger monster. That's why I had to start use notepad to compose those longer posts, then just copy and paste into the comment form.
ReplyDelete(Keeping fingers crossed this is just a minor blog glitch)
I hope it's your #2 (listening to PR pros) and not that they have already used up their TLC money. Who knows what hairbrained schemes Kody has sunk their money into!
Maybe they are paying off debt with some of that tlc money. I would think to, that they might be saving for the "big house" or "one property" as Kody likes to say. Which in either case I would say thats responsible. Lets hope too that some of that money is being put back for all 17 kiddo's to go to college. I have no idea what they are making per episode but I sure hope all these kids are getting a cut and that it's being saved for them.
ReplyDeleteI think it's CRAZY they don't have decent cars. Especially when we learned that when they were up in Utah, they were in leased vehicles. Which leads me to believe this is not what they drive day to day, just for us!
ReplyDeleteNo, I've seen the cars in person. They aren't for our benefit. It's what they drive!
ReplyDeleteKiska, wait a minute....they were in leased cars in Utah? I thought they all had the same cars now that they had in Utah. I know that Meri and Kody do but I never really paid much attention to the others.
ReplyDeletePlease explain :)
I was just thinkin, they should've cash in on that cash for clunkers deal could've got $5,000 apeice to trade into newer more efficient models. That's probly more than some of them are worth.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she likes her car? Maybe its reliable so why trade it in? There are some people who are millionares who will drive a car until the wheels fall off before buying a new one.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there are some unemployed polygamists like Kody Brown who drives Lexus sportscars. Ironic isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI don't see what is wrong with this car. It's not like it's a rusty station wagon from 1985.
ReplyDeleteI think the point was, she is very giving to the others, helping raise 15 kids that are not hers.
ReplyDeleteI don't get it. What is wrong with her car? Maybe what kind of car she drives is not important to her no matter what kind of money she does or doesn't have.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Meri likes her car and feels good driving it. Besides, there are just two in her "family" and it is perfect for them. And, why not two gals in a convertible driving around Las Vegas=)?
ReplyDeleteNow, as for Kody driving a Lexus a basically 1-2 person car; I have not figured that out yet. Wanting to be noticed? Selfishness?
Are there no fans of the Office on here???
ReplyDeleteIt's a Chrysler Sebring Convertible! AKA Michael Scott's ride.
He would be very upset with you all! LOL.
Did anyone see the episode where Dwight said he'd get something German with better gas mileage if he were Regional Manger? Michael was super offended.
If she doesn't keep that baby in the garage, the top is history in the Vegas sun. Make Kody park in the driveway, hide his pants overnite, make him sit on the leather in his undies to get pants someplace else. hehehe
ReplyDeleteThe Aussie and I have competed in Vegas and our mom and dad don't let us on hot pavement. They are thoughtful that way.
I see no problem with the car as long as the car is in good working order, like good tires and regular maintaince. I will never have a car payment again. My husband and I have a 6 and 10 year old car and truck paid off and I love not having the monthly cost. I live in the same weather as Las Vegas and since there is no extreme weather like snow or lots of rain, a mom of one like Meri does not need a big Range Rover(like the Kardashians seem to drive) or anything fancy. Meri is not working that we know of? so she is just driving to the other wives houses , errands, and maybe to the school in good sunny weather so a newer car isn't needed. Now when she drives back to Utah and it is winter she (or the family) should have one good car for long distance trips.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't need a new car, just to replace the missing wheel covers. The car doesn't look to be dented, I see no duct tape holding on the fenders nor on the rag top. Her car looks much better than Christine's (?) van with the Saran Wrap window.
ReplyDeleteI be dipped if my hubby could screw 3 other women, drive that (Lexus, who cares if it's old, it's better than hers)
ReplyDeleteand me drive this around
Well, yeah, Tableturner, so would I, but her car could look better than it does just by putting some wheel covers back on it. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteI second the comments about the wheels--is she driving around on a spare tire? That would be typical of this family.
ReplyDeleteThey are just so obviously stupid with money, it's kind of ridiculous. This is a completely impractical car for a family like theirs, and I'm sure it cost a pretty penny at the time she bought it. Meri annoys me the least of all of them--I don't see how she tolerates Kody a single minute more--but this car picture just reveals so much about the family and its habits, IMO.
I politely disagree. By now, Meri and all the girls deserve a new van each, so they can carry whom they need to.
ReplyDeleteThat is just silly. Make BIG BUCKS on a TV show, and drive something we've seen breakdown a lot.
Meri deserves better, they have plenty of money.
They got rid of all their bad debts with 2 bankruptcies in the past 3 years!
If they don't even need to work for 9 months, they have it made. i didn't work for a week, we'd be in trouble.
I think it's terrible she's driving a clunker...even compared to Robyn's.
ReplyDeleteShe's no good to him, she can't make ten more bambinos. Her purpose I think was to help support the others he's recruited. Her kid's old enough now for her to drop and run. If she's smart she'll split and find her a man all her own!
ReplyDeleteNow I see a bunch of people defensive about what THEY drive. Hey, I drive a junker too. But I don't make BIG BUCKS on a TV show.
ReplyDeleteCOME ON GET A NEW CAR!!!
I drove by Meri's house the other day and there is a new KIA SUV in the driveway with temporary plates (typical on new cars.) I can't know for certain but it might very well be hers.
ReplyDeleteI love the Browns and support what they do and they really shouldn't be the target of such trite criticisms.
IMO she deserved better. She's a hard worker and I like her-she deserves to drive something better and safer.
